House Season 4, Episode 1 – The Doc Works without his team

The season opener of House started with a BANG! (literally) when an office building collapsed on its foundation. House’s mystery patient was a swollen girl named Megan, who was one of the survivors with not-so-normal symptoms compared to other survivors.

The last season ended with Cameron resigning, Chase being fired and Foreman following through on his planned resignation. The question, in this episode, is whether any of House’s associates will come back. Will House beg Cameron or Foreman to go back? Or will we be introduced to new characters?

Dr. Gregory House opened the season rocking solo to an Eddie Van Halen song on a classic white Flying V guitar. Alone in his office without any other doctors, this became the theme of the whole episode: Does House have the guts to cure patients on his own? Can he handle speaking to patients without Cameron or spying on his patient’s homes without Chase and Foreman?

Cuddy nags House to hire a new team to help him diagnose patients. Knowing House, Cuddy agreed to let house treat the patient for the entire week even without a team – just to prove to him that he can’t handle it alone. Dr. Wilson, on the other hand, blackmails House by kidnapping his beloved guitar to hire future members of his team. Of course, since House does not accept losses well, he plays along Wilson’s games and kidnaps one of Wilson’s patients instead.

Trying to figure out the case alone, House searched for anyone, even the janitor and doctors from the ER, whom he could exchange thoughts about the case with. Cuddy, knowing that House would pull such tricks, gave memos to the entire Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital to NOT help Dr. Gregory out.

The ending to Megan’s case was quite unpredictable. However, House’s debate with Cuddy as to how right he was about the case was predictable, but still remained very amusing. The episode ended with House playing his guitar and warning a group of potential staff that the next weeks to come under his supervision will be their worst nightmare.

I just can’t wait to see how jerky Dr. House can be with his new staff.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another recap of House Season 4 episode 2, which airs Tuesday at 9/8c on Fox.

Hell’s Kitchen 3 Episode 4 Recap

Welcome to the Hell’s Kitchen 3 episode 4 recap!

Last week was an absolute disaster, neither the Red or Blue team managed to complete a full service as Chef Gordon Ramsay was forced to shut down the kitchen prematurely. Though it wasn’t all bad as the moronic Asian cowboy Aaron went for gold by passing out cold, falling ass-backwards into a cabinet and denting it nearly as much as his own head. After being rushed off to the hospital, Aaron received an extra special phone call from Chef Ramsay, letting him know that he would no longer be allowed back into Hell’s Kitchen! Finally!

Along with Aaron getting booted off the show for “medical reasons” (see also: overwhelming stupidity), Joanna was sent packing for her general suckage.

So now that we’re all refreshed on what happened last week, lets get down to business and see what this weeks Hell’s Kitchen 3 episode 4 has to offer.

  • The Blue and Red teams both return to their dorms to sulk over their crappy performances. Back in the dorm Vinnie starts ragging on Jen for pulling spaghetti from a garbage, and rightly so.
  • The contestants enter Hell’s Kitchen for a chat with Ramsay and he announces the challenge, a palette test! I love this challenge!
  • The Challenge: Each team member has to taste and correctly identify three kinds of food. Each correct ID earns the team a point.
  • Julie goes 2/3 for the Red team, while Brad goes 1/3 fo the Blue team.
  • Mellisa goes 1/3 for the Red team, Rock goes 2/3 for the Blue team.
  • Bonnie goes 2/3 for the Red team, Josh goes 0/3 for the Blue team.
  • Vinnie can’t nail the first item (Seared Tuna) and effectively loses the competition for the Blue team. The Red team wins!

Survivor Fiji Winner Revealed!

Survivor: China Winner
Survivor: Micronesia Winner

It’s been a long and exciting season of Survivor Fiji and the finale did not disappoint. Although I have to say I am not happy with Global TV at all! Right as the final four were going to tribal council to determine who would be included in the final three they cut to commercial. I assumed they were doing this as the usual way of building suspense, but the commercials went on and on for two or three minutes and by the time they ended and the show was back on, Earl, Dreamz and Cassandra were back at camp discussing how they had just got rid of Yau-Man. What the hell!!?

Since the end of last weeks show, were Yau-Man agreed to give Dreamz the truck as long as he was to hand over immunity should he win it in the final four, they have been hyping the entire will he or won’t he story surrounding immunity. Sure enough Dreamz ended up winning immunity in tonight’s challenge and, when the time came to make his decision at tribal council, Global TV crapped out and I missed the entire thing. I couldn’t believe when they came back and Yau was gone. I was pissed at the fact that my favorite contestant got the boot, but ever more pissed that I didn’t get to see what went down. Global TV, you guys screwed up big time, thanks a lot. I hope the U.S. viewers who were watching Survivor Fiji on CBS didn’t have the same problem.

Once I managed to get over the anger of missing the single most integral part of the night’s episode I focused on furthering my hatred of Dreamz. As much as I love Survivor, I have to say, I do not like the idea of voting on the final three, I much prefer the final two. Also, both this season and last has ended with one deserving contestant (Earl) making the final three, while the other two are completely undeserving of being their and only made it through by coasting (Cassandra) or pure luck (Dreamz).

With that being said, I don’t want to give the Survivor Fiji Winner away to anyone that has the finale TiVo’ed, or anyone that hasn’t yet watched it, so if you’re looking to find out who won you’ll have to check things out after the jump!

The Amazing Race 12 winner
The Amazing Race 13 winner
The Amazing Race 14 winner

What can I say, it’s been hard to maintain any kind of interest in Amazing Race All Stars when the order of elimination and winners have already been revealed.

Tonight was the 12th leg of the race and, as I already knew before watching, Danny and Oswald ended up coming in last, earning themselves a one way ticket home. So that leaves us with just 3 remaining teams: Charla and Mirna, Danielle and Eric and Dustin and Kandice. Who do you think is going to walk away with the grand prize? You never know, the leaked information could be wrong.

Just in case you’re curious, you can find the Amazing Race All Stars Winners after the jump. Enjoy!

Heroes News: Masi Oka Scores a Movie Deal

heroes

Masi Oka, better known as Hiro Nakamura on NBC’s hit TV show Heroes, has landed himself a movie deal!

No doubt due in large part to the huge success of the Heroes TV series, Oka has been cast for the Robert Luketic movie 21.

21 is based on the Ben Mezrich book “Bringing Down The House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T Students Who Took Vegas for Millions.” The movie and book are both based on a true story that is incredibly well known in the blackjack and gambling world.

Six M.I.T students, along with a former math instructor, all worked together by using disguises, secret signals and a skill that will get you thrown out of any casino, or worse, know as card counting to take a number of Las Vegas casinos for nearly $4-million. At that time scamming, especially at Blackjack, for that much money was unheard of.

The movie, without a doubt, should prove to be a good one. I’m a huge fan of Heroes, love gambling and love Masi Oka, so I’ll certainly be checking it out.

On another Heroes note, don’t forget, Masi Oka will be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno tomorrow night, where he’ll reveal some juicy tidbits about the series return on January 22nd!
