Survivor: David Vs. Goliath Winner

They finally managed to get rid of Christian in Survivor: David Vs. Goliath Episode 13, leaving Alison, Davie, Nick, Mike, Kara, and Angelina to battle it out in the final episode.

The Goliaths have recovered from their atrocious post-merge gameplay and by numbers have the advantage, but that whole David Vs. Goliath twist was completely silly when they swapped tribes after three episodes. It was David Vs. Goliath… for a little while. None of those who remain seem to take their original tribes very seriously.

With the idols burned, now everybody goes searching. Angelina is the one to find the clue. She follows the first step of the clue and digs up the ladder by the well. During this, she drops the clue, which she apparently did not read completely. How do you… how?

For the immunity challenge, they will race over a series of obstacles, use a ball to unlock a trap, build a staircase, and solve a 63 piece puzzle of the season logo. Kara’s in the lead after the target and even further in the lead after the stairs, but she’s not very far ahead of Davie, Angelina, and Mike. Nick seemed out of it, but he’s closing the gap. Nick wins immunity. He also wins spaghetti and cake and chooses Angelina to share with him. Davie says he doesn’t need to pick him again. He chooses Mike.

As the reward people plot Alison’s demise, they start talking about whether she has an idol. Angelina knows she doesn’t have it and decides to share her half clue with them. Mike finds it in the sand, and they let her climb to get it.

Nick agrees with Angelina about the Alison vote, but Mike would rather get rid of Davie. Alison knows it’s him or her, making her an easy sell. Kara likes the plan as well. He’s going to have to convince Angelina that Davie’s a threat and they need to split up that pair of him and Nick. Mike’s plan is that if he splits them up, he gets Nick all to himself. I’m sure he will enjoy being lied to. That worked so well for Christian.

With 4 votes, Davie has been voted off the island. Before he leaves, he tells them whoever orchestrated that now has his vote. Mike openly takes credit. That’s one reason to vote him out.

Angelina blames Mike, which is an easy story to believe because Mike’s been playing harder than he likes to let on. He’s very loud about his disapproval.

For the immunity challenge, they will stand on a pole, raise a bucket to fill a chute with water, grab a key, and solve a block puzzle. Alison can’t even balance to start the challenge, but she only needs to hold that for a few seconds. She is the first to get her key. Nick is behind her. Considering his performance in the last challenge, he’s a big threat for this one. Nick wins immunity.

He may have needed that, too, because he was so overly out of control about what happened at Tribal Council that he was making himself a target.

Oh, and next time, we are doing the stupid fire making thing again. At least they know about it this time.

There was a simple plan. Just get rid of Alison because apparently she’s a threat. Angelina doesn’t like that. She wants them to vote for her so she can get some votes but then use her idol correctly and send Alison home anyway. That way, she can brag to the jury that she finally did something right. And she tells Mike and Nick that’s her plan. What is this nonsense? Not done there, she makes a fake idol for Alison. Mike tells Kara, who thinks that maybe they should get rid of him instead. Alison will do that because Angelina’s safe despite her ridiculousness. Nick’s made it clear like he did with Christian that they’re done.

Mike makes some weird comments about Alison at Tribal. I’m not sure what he’s trying to do here by telling her she’s leaving without her dignity.

Alison plays her fake idol, which she knows is fake because it’s a shell with a rope around it. At least it’s not just a stick. Angelina plays her real idol.

For the final immunity challenge, they will have one hand tied behind their backs, drop a ball down the chute and catch it at the bottom, adding more balls as they go. Meh for a final challenge. Angelina drops after they get to three balls. Mike is next. The other two add a fourth ball. Kara drops during the transition, forgetting that she has to keep pace with the other three balls, not just add another. Nick wins immunity.

He pretty much has to take Angelina. Not only are they allies, but anyone would want to drag her to the end. I’m not sure what Kara has done either, but people at least like her.

That leaves Mike and Kara to practice creating fire because they know there is no need for any strategy discussion because whatever Nick says goes. Lame. Don’t bring this twist back again please. I don’t suspect either of them as being that great at this.

Vote
Angelina (to go with Nick to the final three)

As expected from the practice, Kara gets flame first, but it goes out. Struggling to even get a spark, Mike does light a sustainable fire of sorts, just one that isn’t going very high. Kara’s flame goes out again. Mike is getting somewhere. As she aimlessly fails to create fire, Mike’s is slowly building. Mike wins a spot in the final three.

Thanks for changing the outcome based on a fire making challenge again. No way he survived that vote if there were one since he is the biggest threat.

Christian asks them to highlight how they outwitted. Nick talks about all the alliances he had and how that allowed him to know everything. John asks Mike a question, but Angelina interrupts and asks to go first. She points out her social game and how she secured rice for the tribe. It’s not a selfless act if she keeps bring it up over and over again. When Angelina finally stops talking, Mike discusses his final two deals. Then he apologizes for being mean to Alison for no good reason.

Gabby complains about how this game is sexist. Ugh. This is the same broken record we have been hearing from Angelina as well. You lost because you played an emotional and bad game. Nobody cared about your gender. If you played like Amber, Parvati, or Sandra (twice), you would have had a shot. You’re not going to vote for Angelina either, nor will anyone else.

After the cringe is done, Nick tells a very compelling story about how he was the underdog eventually outnumbered 4-1 by Goliaths and how he played the game like he lives. If you’re still alive, you can still fight, which is why his job is to help people with drug addictions.

By a vote of 7-3, Nick Wilson is the Survivor: David Vs. Goliath winner. There’s certainly an argument for Mike here, but Nick is a solid winner who played a mostly good game.
