The Biggest Loser Couples 2 Episode 11

Despite black team’s reckless disregard for their trainer and their goals at the ranch, blue team still fell below the yellow line in The Biggest Loser Couples 2 Episode 10. It came down to a choice between Mandi and Aubrey, and although black team foolishly planned to support Aubrey’s boot instead of Mandi’s, Mandi decided that it was her turn to go home so her sister could stay.

After elimination, Allison asks the black team to join them. They’re probably going on a trip. Yep, everybody’s going home for the week. Typically a bad week because, while it’s a time to reenergize, they normally get knocked off the wagon and start eating poorly. If last week was any indication, the black team is not ready for any temptation whatsoever because they buckled quickly and ridiculously.

As they go home to see their families, it’s pretty obvious there’s some enabling going on there. Most of them have family members who are at least 100 pounds overweight. Perhaps the most visible example of this is Mike’s brother Max, who is about the same size his father and brother were before they went on the ranch.

When they arrive home, they hear the doorbell and see tins sitting on their porches. Mmm. Cookies the size of their heads. As if they really need any more temptation. Their challenge while at home, in addition to overcoming the family distractions, is to run half a marathon. I wonder if any of them will get a ride part of the way from one of the producers. In addition to that, they will be facing a temptation. For every cookie they eat, they can add 5 minutes to the player of their choice’s time. The player with the fastest time wins $10,000. Not worth it when you’re this close to a quarter of a million. Tara’s considered the biggest threat, along with Sione. Aubrey is chowing down. Helen is also eating, with the encouragement of her family that she’s allowed to have a high calorie day.

At the 20 minute mark, Tara and Sione are tied at 2.0 miles each. By the 1:12:00 mark, Sione’s opened up a slight lead 7.8 to 7.5. Helen is at 5.3 miles, Aubrey 5.1 miles, Cathy 4.6 miles, Mike 4.1 miles, Laura 4.0 miles, Filipe 4.0 miles, Kristin 3.5 miles, and Ron’s walking the whole way but nonetheless giving it a go at 2.2 miles. Mandi’s also running alongside Aubrey. Mike, Laura, and Filipe begin struggling around the 5 mile mark. Helen’s also hitting a wall around 8 miles. The top prize is still up for grabs between Sione and Tara. Sione’s extended his lead a bit 12.6 miles to 12.2 miles. A couple hundred yards away from the finish line, Sione’s quad tightens up, and he can’t even take another step. He drops to the ground. Hell of a place to drop. I’d roll the rest of the way myself. He’s up on Tara 12.9 miles to 12.5 miles with a total distance of 13.1 miles to go. After stretching his leg, Sione gets back up and continues going.

Tara – 2:24:19
Sione – 2:25:57
Helen – 2:49:19
Aubrey and Mandi – 2:53:02
Cathy – 3:15:21
Mike – 3:19:38
Laura – 3:24:00
Filipe – 3:24:05
Kristin – 3:43:45
Ron (4 miles) – 1:52:34

So now it’s a question of who ate cookies, and how they decided to apply those minutes.

But before we get to that, it’s time to take a look at the contestants and how they’re doing at home. Aubrey’s trying to juggle her litter of kids and a workout schedule. Ron and Mike go to one of their favorite restaurants. Pizza, beer, and cookies, all they want on the house. Could they pick a worse restaurant? It looks like they’ve managed to behave themselves, though. Filipe actually has to think about what he plans to put in his mouth, asking the waitress a bunch of questions. Tara’s being the food nazi with her family. She’s also teaching her brother about their Extra sugar free gum commercials. Filipe sees some calamari. He smells it, but you don’t get fat by smelling it. Helen pays a visit to a Polish supermarket, and she insists on shopping for the healthy stuff.

Like Mike, Aubrey’s also got an extremely overweight relative. Her father is in the neighborhood of 500 pounds, and she wonders if she’ll be lucky enough to get another 20 or 30 months out of him. He’s in denial about his life threatening disease.

When they return to the ranch, Allison’s there and waiting to reveal the results of the marathon challenge.

Nobody penalized Sione, so his time stands. Tara, however, is not going to be so lucky. Helen ate a 370 calorie cookie to penalize Tara, which means that Sione wins the challenge and the $10,000. So we don’t get to find out who else ate what else?

Now it’s time to find out how well the contestants did at home.

Mike: 270 pounds (-8, 2.88%)
Laura: 220 pounds (-6, 2.65%)
Tara: 198 pounds (-2, 1.00%), Jillian warns her that she’s overtraining, so her body’s fighting back
Sione: 273 pounds (-4, 1.44%)
Filipe: 267 pounds (-7, 2.55%)
Helen: 182 pounds (-7, 3.70%)
Black Total: -34 pounds, 2.35%

Aubrey: 195 pounds (-5, 2.50%)
Ron: 337 pounds (-10, 2.89%), over 100 pounds total
Kristin: 264 pounds (+1, 0.38%)
Cathy: 241 pounds (-1, 0.41%)
Blue Total: -15 pounds

Blue team loses. Again. It’s pretty apparent that the mother/daughter duo still has a lot to learn. Aubrey’s outnumbered once again. However, Cathy volunteers to go home and says she feels strong enough to go home.

Votes
Aubrey: Cathy
Ron: Cathy
Kristin: Cathy

With three votes, Cathy has been eliminated. She is down to 215 pounds from her starting weight of 293 pounds. Her other daughters, Karri and Stephanie, are also participating in the weight loss program.

Kyle XY Season 3 Episode 10

Jessi and Kyle fooled Cassidy into believing Jessi was dead in Kyle XY Season 3 Episode 9.

Cassidy has restarted the program that led to Kyle’s birth, thanks to the research done by the students at Latnok. Kyle doesn’t approve, but he will need to go along with it. Either that, or Cassidy will tell everybody what he did to Jessi. If he allows Cassidy to give the technology to Latnok, he’ll be allowed to go free. Now he just has to trust a blackmailer/murderer.

Jessi spots Kyle shirtless and is having difficulty keeping her hands to herself. His arms have grown, and his pectoral muscles are also expanding. Both of her hands feel nice, until he feels a shock.

Nicole doesn’t like this game they’re playing with Cassidy because he’s scary.

Josh wakes up and is all alone, but there’s a letter. He calls Andy’s voicemail and yells at it.

Jessi’s been watching cable, and she plans to find the location of the warehouse containing the formula by accessing the police’s thermal imaging scans, like how they find the people growing the weed.

Amanda comes to Kyle’s window. She thinks he’s right about Nate, who had a bunch of weird research in his dorm room. Why does she always get involved with the lying, cheating jerks? No matter what, though, Kyle’s one of the good guys, or at least he tries to be. Then she kisses him, and he gets butterflies. Now he’s confused.

Nicole volunteers to go to Latnok with Kyle to create a distraction. She visits Cassidy to talk to him about Jessi not coming home. While she does this, Kyle busts in to get data from the hard drives.

Jessi goes into Josh’s room to insult him about his dank, dark room. Based on what’s growing in a cup on his floor, she’s figured out how to stop the formula.

When he gets back home, Kyle burns Adam’s records of his experiments in order to prevent them from being done again, although he’s also burning his only real connection to the man who gave him life. He believes he saw the disc of the formula in the safe, so now he’ll have to go to Cassidy’s apartment as well. Nicole doesn’t like this new Kyle.

She’ll just have to live with it. Declan’s going to be Kyle’s wingman on this mission, and he will be picking the lock. This is bad because it’s breaking and entering, as if just entering was okay.

Kyle recognizes Cassidy’s mother’s name from Adam’s notebook. In addition to his passport, they’ve found the disc, containing the formula for the fluid. To add to that, Jessi has found the location where they are storing the formula by thermal imaging, and they can use bacteria to destroy it. Let’s see what else is on the disc. Previously, they used human embryos for this formula. Now, they’re creating clones. All the pod people are labelled 781227. They’re making clones… of Kyle. Kyle realizes he’s special because the Tragers took him in and treated him like one of their own children.

Leaving Jessi behind because she’s playing dead, Kyle is heading off to try to destroy the experiment by contaminating it. Before he leaves, he acknowledges he has feelings for her, so she kisses him after making sure there is no Nicole to interrupt, blowing out some lights in the process.

Declan has managed to patch up a video link by hacking into Andy’s minivan’s GPS. She couldn’t say goodbye to Josh, and she still can’t. So for now they’ll just say hello with a lot of miles in between them.

As Kyle’s working on contaminating the experiment, Mark comes in.

Amanda knocks on the window again. This time Jessi answers. She’s supposed to be like dead. Because Jessi can’t go anywhere, which she refuses to explain, she wants Amanda to break into Nate’s room and steal his files.

Kyle’s hanging from the ceiling and accidentally drops the syringe containing te contamination. He has to prevent it from falling with his mind.

Once Amanda breaks into Nate’s room, Jessi can hack into it on the other end. They see that there are a lot of things he’s been gathering on Kyle. Just then, Nate walks in. He phones Cassidy to tell him that Amanda and Jessi are going through his stuff.

Cassidy has ordered that everybody get out. As he’s preparing to evacuate, Mark sees a syringe fall on the ground, closely followed by Kyle. He’ll have to trust the guy who just broke in, which he agrees to do. He will buy Kyle enough time to do what he needs to do and get out.

When Kyle returns home, Cassidy is waiting for him.

There’s a reason why Jessi’s not there. She went to kick Nate’s door off the hinges. They find Sarah’s Latnok ring, which Nate stole from Cassidy. Spoiling the mood, Amanda tells her she will tell Kyle she wants him back.

Meanwhile, Kyle’s being tasered by Cassidy, who’s threatening Jessi, Amanda, and his family. So Kyle punches him through a newly created hole in the house. Just as Kyle grabs Cassidy by the throat, he tells him that his mother Grace Kingsley is his mother, too. They’re brothers.

Wait a minute. That’s it? You call that a series finale? Looks more like a cliffhanger to me. Damn ABC Family.

The Celebrity Apprentice 2 Episode 3

Scott Hamilton named his team’s character EEE to represent Zappos, and despite the fact that they were going on and on for an hour about the theory that there may be another alternative, the obvious happened when Scott was fired in The Celebrity Apprentice 2 Episode 2.

This task is all about weddings. Not good news for the men, who have already lost the first two tasks. George is back and will be following a team. As planned, Tom Green is stepping up to be project manager for the men, which he’s happy to do since he has no faith in any of his team. Brande Roderick will be the manager for the women.

Tom challenges Clint Black to raise $100,000 by contacting his contacts. He agrees to it.

On the other side, Annie Duke’s already lined up a $10,000 buyer.

Both teams are located right next door to each other.

Melissa Rivers has brought Preston Bailey, a wedding planner, to help them out.

So that he understands the product, Tom Green decides to put on a wedding dress. He wants Brian McKnight to help him with his zipper.

Dennis Rodman is concerned about the lack of publicity, so he wants to go somewhere to try to generate interest in their sale. Oh, and he wants to have some drinks as well.

Ivanka believes the men are working together harmoniously. At least those who are actually there anyway. She’s not sure where Dennis and Herschel went.

Khloe Kardashian calls Joe Francis from Girls Gone Wild to get him to buy a $5,000 dress.

Dennis has loosened up a bit and is finally working. It only took some vodka and cranberry juice to get him to do that. He calls up someone to get a model, and they send him a Russian model. He loves Russian bitc… girls.

The next morning, Tom and Dennis aren’t there, and the rest of the team doesn’t know why. They went down to the bar the night before with the Russian girl.

An hour later, Tom comes strolling down. The rest of the team didn’t wait. No need to waste time.

The men plan to go with a minimalistic look focusing just on the dresses. The women are just lucky this is about income rather than profit because they’re going all out.

Tom arrives at the store a couple hours before the sales begin. He’s still a bit drunk. Dennis? It’s not clear where he is. Eventually, Dennis’ guy calls and says he’s having trouble with his eyes and will not be coming in.

George visits Kotu and doesn’t think their store is very inviting, whereas the women have more of an entertainment extravaganza, rather than it just being about dresses.

In the middle of the day, the girls’ store is empty, while the men have managed to pack theirs. Joan Rivers is concerned and goes over to the men’s store and begins stealing customers. Khloe will stand guard outside to make sure nobody goes in.

Clint has managed to raise some money as he was assigned to do. The checks have arrived, and he gets $35,000.

Joan, meanwhile, has gotten $25,000 from QVC.

Herschel is still waiting for his checks with 7 minutes left in the task. At the 2 minute mark, his guy arrives with the checks.

Brande says that nobody did a poor job on her team. Melissa and Annie were her stars.

Tom was also pleased with his team, especially Clint and Herschel. As for Dennis, he had an… allergic reaction. From cats. Or dogs. Some animal anyway.

Herschel wouldn’t put Tom on his A team.

The men sold 21 dresses for $63,453. The women sold 22 dresses for $103,000. Brande has won $167,000 for California Police Youth Charities.

Trump doesn’t think Tom is a great team leader.

Herschel thinks Dennis was hungover. Tom claims he was knocking on Dennis’ door for about half an hour, which is why he was late.

If Phil Jackson were knocking on the door, Dennis would have ignored him, too. Same for Michael Jordan.

Clint would have made Dennis produce at least three doctors to tell him that he was indeed having an allergic reaction.

Jesse James would get rid of both Dennis and Tom.

After Trump asks him half a dozen times, Dennis says that he should fire Tom.

George thinks that Tom seemed unconcerned that Dennis was not there.

For some reason, Tom continues to defend Dennis, while not defending himself very well, if at all.

Clint would be okay with firing both of them.

Brian would fire Tom. He’s not ready to be a leader.

Tom has been fired on the heels of another poor performance. Dennis has to ask whether he’s safe, and apparently he is, despite not showing up for the task.

The Amazing Race 14 Episode 5

Amanda & Kris, one of the stronger teams, were eliminated in The Amazing Race 14 Episode 4 following a poorly placed blind U-turn that gave them no chance of survival.

Teams depart in the order in which they arrived.

First: Christie & Jodi – 12:34PM
Second: Kisha & Jen – 12:36PM
Third: Tammy & Victor – Well, it apparently doesn’t matter what time anybody else leaves because they’re not telling.
Fourth: Margie & Luke –
Fifth: Jaime & Cara –
Sixth: Mel & Mike –
Seventh: Mark & Michael –

Since they’re in the middle of a snowstorm, Christie & Jodi are hoping for a warm place. Next stop: Novosibirsk, Russia via the Trans-Siberian Railway. The train departs at 10:26, so everybody will be on the same train. It’s a good thing nobody got left behind (though it was obviously planned that way), or this would have been a real obvious leg with only one train per day (that’s how you know nobody wants to go there).

The flight attendants believe they have an advantage working together all the time. Kisha & Jen plan to merely stay with the pack and hope for a footrace.

Jaime & Cara and Margie & Luke continue to work together.

Jen is frustrated with Kisha because she’s ignoring the strategy of following the pack and instead going another direction.

The detour is a choice between Russian bride or Russian snow plow. In Russian bride, teams choose a car with a manual transmission called a Lada that they must drive to find a bride, who needs to be driven across town to a church to meet her groom. In Russian snow plow, teams take a Lada to a stadium where they must operate snow plows through a training course.

On their way to the first detour, the first three teams pull over to get directions. While the others are getting directions inside, Victor asks a cab driver outside. Rather than wait the 30 seconds for them to come out, Victor bails. He just lost their trust needlessly. It’s obvious his directions weren’t very good because he’s stopping again. Margie gets directions from somebody on the street when they stop. Victor sees the direction the local is pointing, so he takes off in that direction, again going on his own. Silly man. Again, it’s not worth the half a minute advantage you’re gaining. Their efforts to lose the other two teams have not paid off, and all teams are even when they get to the plows.

Russian snow plow: Margie & Luke, Jaime & Cara, Tammy & Victor, Mark & Michael
Russian bride: Mel & Mike, Christie & Jodi, Kisha & Jen

The next stop is an unpronounceable library with way too many names, the largest library in Siberia. The road block is a winter marathon… in their underwear. They will warm up with their local partners and run 1.4 miles through the snow to the Novosibirisk Ballet and Opera Theater, which is the pit stop for this leg of the race.

At this point, two teams are dragging behind trying to find the church, Kisha & Jen and Christie & Jodi. It will be a footrace for first between the two teams who have been working together (Margie & Luke and Jaime & Cara) and the team that has been working with them when convenient (Tammy & Victor).

As Kisha & Jen slide around on the icy roads, Christie & Jodi hope they can find their way there by following a taxi. The friction remains between Kisha & Jen, as it has through much of the season, but the flight attendants say they’re just going to remain calm and hope for the best. Nonetheless, I suspect time is up for Christie & Jodi, unless it’s a nonelimination leg. Jen has to get some underwear because she’s going commando, while Christie is blurred out because she’s wearing a thong.

Road block (in order of arrival): Luke, Cara, Tammy, Mike, Mark, Jen, Christie

First: Margie & Luke (win a trip to St. Lucia)
Second: Tammy & Victor
Third: Jaime & Cara
Fourth: Mel & Mike
Fifth: Mark & Michael
Sixth: Kisha & Jen
Non-eliminated: Christie & Jodi

Christie & Jodi have been saved by the non-elimination leg. They will have to complete a speed bump on the next leg.

Dollhouse Season 1 Episode 5

Echo was remotely wiped in Dollhouse Season 1 Episode 4, which caused her to have a breakdown while on assignment.

A brainwashed group of people is singing about their happy happy thoughts. This displeases Jesse. Once they leave, it’s discovered that one of them has left behind a request: save me.

Senator Boxbaum asks Adelle to place an active with a federal agency, the ATF. Why exactly do they send the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms after fanatical religious cults anyway? And what do firearms have to do with the other two?

Despite having been shot, Ballard’s still at work.

In order to turn Echo into a human camera, they will have to make her blind. Not permanently… in theory. That footage will be fed back to the ATF. The risks of the surgery, including death and seizure, have been determined to be within acceptable margins.

Based on the request by the person who requested saving, a judge has granted the ATF 48 hours to be able to crack into the group. They will be utilizing Echo, Ester Carpenter. She will walk through the gates of the compound and be accepted as one of them. Upon arrival, she meets and immediately knows Jonas, the cult leader, by touching his face.

Ballard asks an agent with higher security clearance to try to find Caroline. Her result is the same as his: she doesn’t exist.

So who told Ester about this place? Jonas did. He appeared to her in a vision and spoke to her. It’s a miracle. If she is who she says she is. If not, she’ll need to be crushed like the serpent she is.

Topher was looking at Victor in the shower. Just glancing. He noticed he seemed to be getting excited when Sierra joined him. His repeated romantic imprint may potentially be a problem. He and the doctor will be watching the shower tapes for the last three months for… man reactions.

This cult is an offshoot of the Zion Ranch, the real life cult busted in Waco.

Jonas is broken, corrupted, and impure, by his own admission. Because the dumb bunnies under his watch are the opposite of that, he will do whatever it takes to protect them, including pulling a gun on Ester. She’s convincing enough to get him to believe she’s not the enemy. He doesn’t just have the one gun, though. There’s a whole arsenal.

Paul gets an envelope from some guy in the hall. The writing matches the original anonymous letter he got. The woman who took the letter got it from a cute guy in his 20s with brown hair. He had a cart. Yeah, it was the guy from the mailroom. Now they’ve got a video of Caroline to go along with the picture.

Dr. Saunders and Topher are watching Victor in the showers. It’s not residual imprinting. It’s Sierra.

Boyd wants to remove Ester from the compound now that the ATF is planning to barge in. They won’t be waiting because Agent Grant Lilly has a personal vendetta against Jonas and wants to see him locked up forever. Dominic instructs Boyd to do nothing. He wouldn’t mind if Echo dies in the crossfire.

As Ester’s being christened into her new home, the ATF is lining up outside. Because the grounds are rigged, Jonas knows they’re coming. He grabs a gun and then slaps Ester. After this hit to the face, she can now see, which makes the feds blind.

The news media has arrived, and while watching the footage, Ballard notices Caroline.

Boyd goes to the convenience store where the note was left. Nobody’s thought to check the security tape to find out who their person on the inside is. Now Boyd knows who he’s dealing with. Agent Lilly planted the note to create a stir.

Jonas has Ester read a creepy story about a blazing fire. As she’s doing this, Seth, one of Jonas’ followers, is in the process of setting the place on fire. The flames can’t hurt them. It will be another miracle.

ATF is storming the grounds trying to find Boyd. One of them finds him, but not before he knocks him out.

Ester warns Jonas that he can’t force a miracle. So he hits her again. Now it’s time for her to hit him. If he won’t protect the people, it’s time for her to do so. God brought her there with a message: move your ass. All the followers have escaped. With that, Jonas is unknocked out, and he’s still got his gun. He’s shot by Dominic, who then decides to knock out Ester. Just in time, Boyd arrives to pull her out of there. She knows him. How is that possible? It’s not.

Ballard comes to find Echo. Lilly plays dumb.

Adelle wants to eliminate any temptation before it spreads like a cancer. Victor must be scrubbed and closely monitored.

Echo sees perfectly now… and is keeping an eye on Dominic.

Hell’s Kitchen Season 5 Episode 6

Ramsay decided he didn’t care what the teams wanted, opting instead to choose his own person to be booted, so he sent Colleen home in Hell’s Kitchen 5 Episode 5.

Red team seems disappointed by Colleen’s departure. Andrea knows she got what she deserved and doesn’t mind that she was nominated.

Ramsay is impressed with Lacey’s recent performance.

The chefs will be doing a bar mitzvah. The boy’s mother and grandmother are there to discuss what food he likes. Each team will create a hamburger, a brisket, and chicken soup. Their task is to transform everyday foods into gourmet dishes.

Blue team’s depending on Ben, who is Jewish.

Carol will be doing the burger for her team. She’ll be using bleu cheese, which the others don’t think is a good idea.

Max, the guest of honor, will be judging the dishes.

Blue team made a traditional chicken soup with pasta, vegetables, and riceballs. The girls have a spring chicken soup with spring vegetables and homemade past. Although the grandmother seems to like the red team’s dish, Max picks the blue team.

Ben believes he’s a brisket master. His brisket is pretty sweet. Red team has a cherry barbeque sauce on theirs. Red team is chosen.

It’s down to the burger. Robert’s burger is Kobe beef. Carol has combined lamb, veal, and Kobe beef and stuffed it with bleu cheese. Oh, now this one’s just too obvious. While Max liked the burger from the red team, he didn’t like the cheese. Blue team wins.

Blue team’s going to the spa. Red team will be transforming the room into the dining room for the bar mitzvah.

Francisco will be helping them with the party. JP wants to slap him around.

J has never had a facial. J is too busy talking about himself in the third person.

Andrea and Carol both believe they’re the boss of each other… and everyone else. They’re not alone. Paula hates both of them, too.

In addition to the regular menu, the winning foods from the challenge will be featured.

Andrea’s mushroom risotto is lacking… mushrooms.

For the second part of their punishment, the girls have to lift Max up in his chair for the traditional dance. Just don’t drop him, or you’ll probably lose.

Coi forgot the burgers. Oops. No entrees can leave the kitchen until Max’s table’s food is ready. When she does cook the burgers, she doesn’t cook them completely. They can’t serve cold burgers.

Danny brings out dirty plates.

As for Coi, now she’s struggling with her brisket.

Red team’s running into each other and completely unable to communicate.

Lacey has brought out cold beef as well. Where’s the beef?

Carol and Andrea hate each other. Still.

Francisco has dropped the cake. A couple of the kids will still eat it off the floor.

To cap off the night, the Harlem Globetrotters have come to pay Max a visit. Robert remembers those guys from when they were on Scooby Doo.

Andrea apologizes to Carol for the confusion over the fries. She didn’t realize why nothing was being done with them. Carol’s response: “Oh, I wanted to punch you in the neck.”

Ramsay says that both teams were pretty even across the board. He will be basing his decision on the level of determination throughout the service. Blue team wins. Since Andrea bounced back from her poor start, she will be able to nominate two people. The rest of the team is shocked by this decision.

Andrea comes downstairs and says she still doesn’t know. Ramsay forces her to make her choices. Her first nominee is Coi due to her performance. Her second nominee is LA because she’s a line cook, not a leader. LA finds this amusing.

As Chef Ramsay is about to announce his decision, Coi says that Andrea is the worst. LA agrees. Carol falls in line. Paula is finally able to give a non-vengeful answer, and she says it was Coi. Coi will be leaving Hell’s Kitchen.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of Hell’s Kitchen Season 5 Episode 7, which airs Thursday at 9/8c on Fox.
