Wednesday April 29 Schedule Changes

It’s been a whole month, so it’s time for another Presidential address, which will air Wednesday April 29 at 8/7c. This time slot works out a lot better than the previous Tuesday ones, as there’s really not much on during that time. Here’s how it will impact the networks:

ABC will delay the 1 hour Scrubs season finale until Wednesday May 5.

NBC airs reruns of Law & Order: SVU in that time frame, so they will just not air a rerun for the week.

CBS has decided to get as complicated with its schedule as possible. Rules of Engagement and The New Adventures of Old Christine will air on Wednesday May 13. The CSI: NY season finale will air on Thursday May 14 after CSI. The New Adventures of Old Christine and Gary Unmarried season finales have moved to Wednesday May 20. The Criminal Minds season finale will air Wednesday May 20 from 9-11. Harper’s Island, which it would seem is essentially dead, will move to Saturdays as of May 2.

Fox has declined the President’s request for air time, as the networks grow increasingly frustrated losing millions of dollars during a recession each time. Lie to Me will air at its regularly scheduled time. Fox will direct interested viewers to its sister networks Fox News Network and Fox Business Channel, which will air the address.

The CW does not air these events and will air its regularly scheduled programming, America’s Next Top Model.

Heroes Season 3 Episode 25

In Heroes Season 3 Episode 24, we went back to how it came about that Sylar decided to pose as Nathan Petrelli.

Angela had a dream. Nathan’s in trouble. He’s not the only one. HRG has Claire and Angela get out of the car and go to Nathan, while he rides ahead to the truck full of people waiting for him.

Danko jabs something in the back of Sylar’s head, but it doesn’t do anything to him. He’s moved his little off switch that used to be in the back of his head. He plans to meet with the President the next day, so he can shake his hand and shapeshift into him. Danko threatens to expose him if he doesn’t kill him, but he doesn’t need to kill him. He just has to shapeshift into him and fire on his own men. Now nobody will believe a word he says.

Angela’s going to find Matt Parkman because in her dream Parkman saves Nathan’s life.

Claire has arrived to see Nathan. She asks how she knows he’s not Sylar, which he is. He seems to have her convinced that he’s not an imposter, and they go off together to the Stanton Hotel to intercept Sylar.

Hiro wants to stop time again, but Ando’s worried his head may explode.

Danko’s tossed in a room where he meets up with HRG.

Peter comes to get the real Nathan.

HRG tells Danko that, if he didn’t have Claire, he’d be in exactly Danko’s position. Danko responds that he is in the same position, so they plan to work together.

Then they’re frozen by Hiro, as is everyone else. Ando notices that Hiro’s ear is bleeding, but he says he’s fine. They locate Suresh and rescue him, moving the guards into his place instead. When time unfreezes, Hiro’s having medical problems. Suresh tells Hiro that his human body is rejecting his powers like a virus. He instructs him to not freeze time again.

The prisoners are all gone, and the entire unit has been captured. Hiro arrives to jab a vial into Danko. Then they both collapse.

Claire gets a call from HRG. Only it’s not Claire. It’s Sylar.

Claire plans to kill Sylar, who plans to kill HRG. Everybody dies some time. He wants to make her his first First Lady, but first he has to get her past her urge to kill him.

Nathan arrives at the hotel, and he’s told he’s already inside. The man in there is dangerous. He’s one of them, or rather, he’s one of us. The government needs to stay out of it, but Nathan and Peter can handle it. They just have to get close enough for Peter to touch him.

They break inside and begin to battle. Claire closes the door to let the battle happen, and whens he opens it, Nathan and Sylar have gone out the window.

They’ve moved to another room where Sylar slashes Nathan’s neck and leaves him for dead before taking his shape.

Parkman arrives, and Angela is there waiting for him so he can save Nathan. By the time they arrive, Nathan is dead.

Sylar is informed by Secret Service agent Liam Samuels that the President won’t be able to meet with him today. Perhaps he’ll be able to meet with Samuels, though. With one more body change, Sylar meets with the President. Only it’s not the President, though. It’s Peter, who stabs him in the neck.

HRG and Angela have a plan. They need Sylar to be Nathan Petrelli again. Parkman grabs hold of Sylar and turns him into Nathan. Then they burn the body, but nobody else knows what’s actually happened.

The President has agreed to Nathan’s proposal. He told him he’s found just the man to head up their new “the company.”

Volume 4 ends there, and volume 5 Redemption starts six weeks later.

A building agent arrives to find a flood. He’s greeted by a person who takes form from the water. It’s Tracy, and she’s found her fourth mysterious drowning victim.

Angela goes to pay Nathan a visit, and it seems he’s got some of Sylar’s powers. He can tell a clock is running a minute and a half fast.

That concludes season 3. Heroes has not yet been officially confirmed for season 4, but the buzz is positive that we will be seeing it again in September.

The Celebrity Apprentice 2 Episode 9

Two people were sent home in The Celebrity Apprentice 2 Episode 8, neither of whom were named Rivers. First, Natalie Gulbis was fired on the fundraising task she chose the jewelry for. Then, Herschel Walker was fired based on his choices for his team’s frozen meal.

Clint’s not even going to say goodbye to Herschel.

Joan and Clint receive a new addition to their team: Jesse James. Jesse’s stuck with a losing team. Melissa is not happy either because she’s stuck with Brande and Annie, both of whom she hates.

The task is for Right Guard deodorant. They will create a 4 page print ad featuring Right Guard Fast Break including David Lee of the Knicks. Not giving them a lot of room to think for themselves.

Clint is the project manager for Kotu. Brande is the project manager for Athena.

Melissa’s throwing out some ideas, but she’s not getting much feedback. Annie’s concerned that her ideas are aimed at women, rather than men who read Sports Illustrated.

Clint’s got a one track mind. He wants to use sex to sell again. Jesse doesn’t like team Kotu already.

Melissa’s complaining as usual. Brande defers to Annie to come up with the ideas for the project.

Joan has no clue about sports, and she’s showing it. Granted, her idea to have him surrounded by a bunch of big black guys, which could be considered offensive, doesn’t have anything to do with her lack of knowledge of sports.

Jesse hopes to keep things simple, but Clint wants to do a bunch of random brand messages everywhere.

Annie’s going with the photographer to shoot David Lee, who she happens to know.

Melissa confronts Brande. They’re conspiring to get rid of her. Oh really? Why didn’t someone let them know? Now Brande’s kind of irritated by Melissa’s whining.

Jesse goes off to shoot the New York City skyline, which is the pressure that David Lee feels.

Since they won’t be getting the chance to shoot until that night, Kotu does some shots with stand ins to get an idea of what they’ll be looking at.

Clint’s thinking that Jesse may throw him under the bus and is just giving him enough rope to hang himself. Jesse is convinced they’ll lose.

Annie feels that Melissa’s doing a good job of conspiring against herself, so she doesn’t need to set her up.

Jesse thinks Clint sucks. He hates the direction they’re going, so he starts to detach himself from it.

Melissa’s mad (still) because they’re capable of doing everything without her.

Clint takes control of the photo shoot, of course.

Clint takes control of the editing while his team just sits on the couch not participating. Annie and Brande peek in to see the other team, which leads Joan to get running with the personal attacks again.

Jesse’s not hiding his feelings. He hates Clint’s design, but he’s not offering any constructive criticism.

Unlike them, Athena’s confident they’re going to win. Jim Kramer believes Annie’s brilliant. She’s got it set up so that she gets all the credit if they win but doesn’t take the bullet if they lose. Melissa, however, would like to take equal credit for everything.

Clint does the pitch for his team. Jesse considers this irrelevant because the rest of their ad doesn’t stack up.

Annie will be doing the pitch for her team. Melissa doesn’t like her presentation style.

Kotu’s orange color, which Clint pushed for, was liked by the executives, as was the power stripe idea that bordered the page. However, the use of a Right Guard jersey instead of a Knicks jersey didn’t work for them because David Lee is not too recognizable.

They liked Athena’s images, but they didn’t like that they buried the best image on page 3 of the ad.

Jesse tells Trump he didn’t think there was much of a team because Clint didn’t utilize his team members as well as he could have. Clint didn’t consider Jesse to be a team player. Joan doesn’t want to side with either one.

Joan’s angry that Annie knows David Lee.

Annie says that, if they lost, she should not be the one who is fired. Ivanka doesn’t like that Brande gave away the most important aspects of the task.

Melissa and Joan jump in to attack Annie and Brande.

Annie says that she’d rather go up against Melissa in the finals because Brande’s a much more effective fundraiser, so from a gameplay standpoint, it would make more sense to get rid of Brande, rather than ganging up on Melissa.

The executives liked both, but the winning ad is Kotu’s. Now Clint has to get some credit, although Jesse isn’t as happy as he probably should be with the win. Clint’s charity is the International Rett Syndrome Foundation.

Jim Kramer thinks Brande’s gotta go.

Annie says that Brande has been a stronger player overall.

Brande does not think that Annie should be fired, so she would get rid of Melissa, who’s gotten too personal in the game. Jim Kramer considers this too soft an answer.

Melissa acknowledges that she’s in the middle of the pack as a fundraiser but claims she’s done the most work.

Jim Kramer’s changed his mind based on Brande’s passionate response to his criticism that she was being too soft. He’d fire Melissa. Trump runs with this and fires her, knowing she would not be an effective fundraiser on the final tasks.

Melissa runs out of the boardroom as quickly as possible. She runs in to tell her mommy, swears at the girls, and demands her luggage. Joan says she’s leaving, too. Good riddance. Unfortunately, she doesn’t leave before she and her daughter scream some more and make even bigger fools of themselves. They’ve been the most poor sports in this whole season, but they’re even poorer losers.

The Amazing Race 14 Episode 10

The Amazing Race 14 Episode 9 was largely pointless, as Mark & Michael never had a chance to even make it appear like they were going to survive.

Teams depart in the order in which they arrived.

First: Kisha & Jen – 1:48PM
Second: Tammy & Victor – 1:49PM
Third: Margie & Luke – 1:50PM
Fourth: Jaime & Cara – 2:12PM

Teams will now fly over 1000 miles to Beijing, China, which once again should play out favorably for Tammy & Victor. All teams get on the same flight.

The drama of the end of the last leg continues, no matter how much the two teams involved claim they’re over it. Kisha & Jen continue to isolate themselves from the other teams, and from the country of China in general.

The first stop is a foot massage parlor. The road block is to participate in a traditional Chinese foot massage. First, they will drink a medicinal tea, then they’ll get a foot massage known for its therapeutic powers. It lasts ten minutes and walks a fine line between pleasure and pain. Afterward, they will drink another cup of tea. If you say uncle, they’ll stop, only to start all over again.

Road block (in order of arrival): Cara, Kisha, Tammy, Luke

Cara’s crying while Kisha bites down on her jacket. Tammy’s a trooper and seems to have the easiest time with it. Luke is struggling as bad as the first two were.

From there, teams will head to Guangcai Natatorium. Jen’s already freaking herself out, figuring that they will have to swim.

Tammy & Victor tell a cab driver where to go, then Jaime & Cara grab that cab from them. Tammy & Victor just take the next cab, and they still get there first because they’re able to communicate the correct door to their new driver.

The detour is a choice between sync or swim. In sync, teams try to master the skill of synchronized diving by jumping off the 3 meter springboard in unison. In swim, teams must swim 8 lengths of the pool in a 400m relay. Each member must complete 200m of the relay.

Swim: Jaime & Cara, Luke & Margie, Kisha & Jen, Tammy & Victor (switched from sync), Kisha & Jen (switched from sync to swim back to sync back to swimming)

Jaime & Cara are doing okay on the swimming, even if it is exhausting. Tammy & Victor are slowly getting the hang of the diving. Jen’s convinced she’s going to die. Margie & Luke are also doing fine on the swimming, which is proving to be the easier task. Kisha’s just pulling herself through the swimming task by holding on to the buoys. Jaime & Cara have managed to complete their task first. After Kisha’s done pulling herself through the first lap of the swimming, Jen decides to switch again. Margie & Luke are done next. Tammy & Victor are still struggling to get past a 4 (they need a 5), but Tammy’s not a good swimmer. They eventually decide to switch. Meanwhile, Jen’s having a breakdown on the diving. She wants to go home. Tammy & Victor have completed the swimming task. Kisha pulls Jen up as they switch back to the swimming task. Jen’s allowed to wear a life vest to complete the swimming task, which makes me wonder why they didn’t just do that and avoid all the initial drama.

The pit stop for this leg of the race is Drum Tower. Except it’s not really a pit stop. Jaime & Cara are the first team to arrive at Phil, who hands them another clue. The leg will continue.

Prison Break Season 4 Episode 18

Lincoln got in touch with his mother in Prison Break season 4 Episode 17, which ended with her giving the order to have him killed.

The sniper loses the clean shot, and now Mahone and Self are after him. A gun battle ensues, and the shooter escapes, right into Lincoln’s waiting arms. When someone passes by, he’s able to escape again by stabbing Lincoln, before he’s run over by a car driven by T-Bag.

As Michael and Sarah are looking at family photos from her college friend, she goes into the bathroom, where she pulls out a pregnancy test.

The general brings Stuart in. He’s made phone calls to an unidentified party. Who has Scylla? He claims he doesn’t know anything.

Lincoln and his boys have also nabbed a cell phone from the shooter, and he received a lot of calls from a blocked number.

Until they get Scylla, they’re going to play dumb and not reveal that it’s their mom.

Michael’s in Miami and wants to meet with Lincoln, who warned him not to come. Mahone is the messenger sent to tell him he’s not coming, and that whoever wants Scylla has to go through their mom. He suggests that they can save their families and take down the company at the same time.

Sarah’s found an address, and the fact that they have to go through Michael’s mother doesn’t stop him.

Lincoln’s found his mother at the Indian embassy, and they’re sending T-Bag to create a distraction. He handcuffs himself to the gate to protest mistreatment of elephants. When the security team goes to bust T-Bag, they’re able to break in. He uncuffs himself, but not before he’s grabbed and tossed in a van.

Christina’s trying to sell Scylla to Naveen. She’s starting with him first out of respect for his father.

Michael and Sarah have been led to a car. Good thing he knows about breaking and entering. They find a briefcase in the car, containing keys, a map, and a gun.

Self, Burrows, and Mahone have been captured by Christina’s security. She’d like to close the deal before leaving. Naveen has agreed to her terms, so now they can leave.

Since they’re in an embassy, Mahone doesn’t believe anyone will actually kill them, so they just walk right out the door. On their way out, they say they’re with Christina, so they’re handed a piece of paper she dropped that says that Sandinsky is arriving at 4:30, which Michael has also figured out.

Christina calls the phone in the briefcase, and Michael answers, so she hangs up.

When they arrive at the airport, Sarah creates a distraction, and Michael grabs the flight log. They’ve figured out who VS is: Vincent Sandinsky. Michael goes into the operations area with a gun and has them give a message to the flight carrying him. The plane will land where Michael wants it to land. Security will also let Sarah out there because she’s a doctor assisting with a passenger who’s had a heart attack. Sandinsky will be going in the car with them. He doesn’t plan to hurt him, but the guys chasing them do. The high speed chase is stopped by another car. They want Michael and Sarah dead, but it’s a good thing Mahone was waiting in the wings with a rifle to take them out.

Although Michael is being allowed to walk free, Lincoln has gotten his way and is now in control.

T-Bag is trying to make his own deal with the general. He tells him that Christina has Scylla in Miami.

Sandinsky says he’s just a professor who was looking to get out of New Hampshire for a few days. He had his cell when he got off the plane, but it seems to be missing now. That’s because Michael and Sarah took it, and they see that he’s been e-mailing Christina back and forth. They’re working together on something.

Sarah’s pregnancy test is showing up positive.

Michael places a call from Sandinsky’s phone to his mom. How badly does she want him?

Lincoln’s boys, however, are buying his innocent act.

The Apprentice UK Series 5 Episode 5

Despite being praised for being a good team leader, Paula was fired in The Apprentice UK Series 5 Episode 4.

The task is to create a new brand identity for Sir Alan’s new breakfast cereal. They will come up with a name, character, and marketing campaign.

Kimberly will be the project manager for Ignite. Kate will lead Empire.

Ad agency McCann-Erickson will be the creative home for the teams.

Yasmina and Debra are on market research, which means a trip to the store. They find a common theme with the other cereals. They all have cartoon characters on them. Running with the pirate theme he suggested earlier, James suggests they have a parrot who’s a pirate.

The other team has gone with Philip’s idea, Pantsman, a character who puts his underpants on the outside of his clothing. Perhaps it’ll make sense when they’re done.

Yasmina and James have gone to create a jingle for their cereal, Treasure Flakes.

Ignite’s cereal is Wake Up Call. Philip has already written their jingle. Lorraine’s still not onboard with their team’s campaign, and she’s not hiding it from the rest of the team. After that, they call the graphic designer and tell him they’re not going back to the agency, so it’s up to him to do everything for them. The next morning when they get their box, they’re not happy with it.

Ben will play the pirate parrot for the commercial, while Kate directs. Margaret is concerned their commercial is too complex.

Kate will direct for the other team, while Noorul dresses as Pantsman. He also believes he can participate in the directing.

Unlike Empire, which hired a professional singer, Philip will be singing for Ignite. Once project manager Kate hears the professional singer, she decides she would prefer a male singer, so she asks Ben to do a voiceover.

Nick notices that the kids don’t find the Pantsman concept at all funny, even though the team finds it hilarious.

Kimberly and Mona get into an argument about the presentation. Kimberly’s frustrated with Mona but doesn’t want to step up to the plate and do it herself, even if she’s more qualified.

Debra pitches for Treasure Flakes. One concern is that they’re trying to corner too many markets and don’t have one specific focus.

Mona does the pitch for Wake Up Call as planned. Unlike the other team, their box is blank except for the front. Their product name also doesn’t tie in well with the character.

Kimberly’s team supports her, except for Lorraine. Sir Alan shoots down Lorraine’s concept that she wouldn’t let go the whole time. He wanted one character, so her idea of multiple characters wouldn’t have worked for him.

The ad agency found the execution of their commercial to be very good.

Kate’s whole team supports her.

The ad agency did not enjoy their commercial. However, their overall campaign was considered to be clearly the best one. Empire is the obvious winner. As for Ignite, he considers their campaign to be garbage.

Sir Alan heard from Nick that Philip bulldozed his idea over the team. Kimberly says that she is not a creative person and just did the best she could with a bad idea.

Lorraine and Philip will be going back to the boardroom.

Philip would like Kimberly fired because she brought him back.

He gets his wish because Kimberly has been fired. Sir Alan’s well aware that he’s left two people who have argued all day together, and he’s looking forward to it.
