The Celebrity Apprentice 3

As we approach the end of The Celebrity Apprentice 2, NBC has announced that the show has been renewed for season 3. The Celebrity Apprentice 3 will air midseason next year, presumably around the same time it launched this year (March).

We’ll probably have to wait until early next year before learning who will be in the cast, but based on the not playing with a full deck Rivers duo we saw this season, I would expect to see at least one family duo.

“‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ is the ultimate business and reality show at the top of its game and has exploded in popularity this season while also raising an impressive amount of money for charity,” said Paul Telegdy, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, NBC and Universal Media Studios. “It’s a valuable franchise and proven competitor and we’re thrilled to have Mr. Trump and Mr. Burnett back to create another brilliant season.” ”

‘The Apprentice’ and ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ have been an amazing adventure for me and, obviously, a very popular show with the public,” said executive producer Donald Trump. “Its Emmy nominations and great success have translated into a wonderful experience. Working with Mark Burnett has been terrific, and I am greatly honored that NBC has renewed us for yet another season, our ninth.”

American Idol Season 8 Episode 33

Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds were sent home in American Idol 8 Episode 32, which brings us down to the top 5 performing tonight.

Tonight’s theme is the rat pack era. Since everybody from that time is dead, the surprise mentor for the week is Jamie Foxx, the guy from In Living Color who’s apparently now a singer. According to Seacrest, this is the perfect mentor for this week.

Song: The Way You Look Tonight from Swing Time
Randy: Your best performance to date. Mad nice vocals.

Numbers: 1-866-IDOLS-02 or 1-866-IDOLS-07

Numbers: 1-866-IDOLS-05 or 1-866-IDOLS-10

The Biggest Loser Couples 2 Episode 17

In a tie vote, Kristin was voted out in The Biggest Loser Couples 2 Episode 16.

Allison shows everybody a video that lets them see how far they’ve come. Then she tells them this is their last week on campus.

Their workout is a trip back as well, showing them how much easier everything is now than it used to be.

Then Tara and Helen put on some clothes that they never thought they’d fit in. Mike also realizes that he’s able to fit into his goal outfit already.

After that, it’s a visit to the doctor. Helen has lost 106 pounds of hydrated fat, and her biological age has decreased from 60 to 50. Filipe has dropped from 58 inches to 43. Mike is down from a 65 inch waist (he thought it was 56 inches) and has dropped 54% of the area of his waist now. Ron couldn’t even fit in the MRI machine the first time. In addition to his fat loss, his blood tests are now normal.

Today’s challenge is to run over 16 hills of sand while pulling all the weight they used to weigh. They will start off with all their weight that they initially weighed, removing the weight they lost that week at the top of each hill. The winner will get $10,000 or a 1 pound advantage. The second place finisher will get whichever prize the winner doesn’t take. Filipe gets off to an early lead, followed by Mike. Tara’s stuck on the first hill, struggling to even lift the weight she’s lost. After the fourth hill, she overtakes Helen to get into third place. Mike takes the lead at week 7, and Tara goes into second on that same hill, leaving Filipe behind. Tara grabs the lead as she approaches the end and doesn’t look back. She wins the challenge, and Mike comes in second. As with the first challenge, Mike heads back to help his dad finish this challenge.

It’s train the trainer day. Bob loves the chance to be pushed, and he wants to see Jillian scream and cry.

The final five contestants have lost over 600 pounds in what’s been the longest season ever. Now it’s their chance to earn themselves a spot in the final four. First, Tara needs to make a decision. Unlike last week, Tara takes the pound, which gives Mike $10,000.

Ron: 289 pounds (-9, 3.02%)

Filipe: 234 pounds (-10, 4.10%)

Helen: 154 pounds (-7, 4.35%)

Mike: 224 pounds (-11, 4.68%)

Tara: 169 pounds (-8, -1, 5.08%)

Tara now holds the record for the most weight lost by a woman on the show, while Mike holds the overall record.

That puts Ron and Filipe below the yellow line, despite having strong weeks. The choice here is obvious.

Votes
Mike: Filipe
Helen: Filipe

With two votes, Filipe is not The Biggest Loser. He initially plateaued when he got home but has lost 13 pounds since getting back. A few weeks after his return, his dad had a stroke, which has inspired him to start weekly workouts with his family and friends at his house.

For everybody else, they will be going home for 30 days, and then they will return for one more weigh-in before the finale.

The Celebrity Apprentice 2 Episode 9

Two people were sent home in The Celebrity Apprentice 2 Episode 8, neither of whom were named Rivers. First, Natalie Gulbis was fired on the fundraising task she chose the jewelry for. Then, Herschel Walker was fired based on his choices for his team’s frozen meal.

Clint’s not even going to say goodbye to Herschel.

Joan and Clint receive a new addition to their team: Jesse James. Jesse’s stuck with a losing team. Melissa is not happy either because she’s stuck with Brande and Annie, both of whom she hates.

The task is for Right Guard deodorant. They will create a 4 page print ad featuring Right Guard Fast Break including David Lee of the Knicks. Not giving them a lot of room to think for themselves.

Clint is the project manager for Kotu. Brande is the project manager for Athena.

Melissa’s throwing out some ideas, but she’s not getting much feedback. Annie’s concerned that her ideas are aimed at women, rather than men who read Sports Illustrated.

Clint’s got a one track mind. He wants to use sex to sell again. Jesse doesn’t like team Kotu already.

Melissa’s complaining as usual. Brande defers to Annie to come up with the ideas for the project.

Joan has no clue about sports, and she’s showing it. Granted, her idea to have him surrounded by a bunch of big black guys, which could be considered offensive, doesn’t have anything to do with her lack of knowledge of sports.

Jesse hopes to keep things simple, but Clint wants to do a bunch of random brand messages everywhere.

Annie’s going with the photographer to shoot David Lee, who she happens to know.

Melissa confronts Brande. They’re conspiring to get rid of her. Oh really? Why didn’t someone let them know? Now Brande’s kind of irritated by Melissa’s whining.

Jesse goes off to shoot the New York City skyline, which is the pressure that David Lee feels.

Since they won’t be getting the chance to shoot until that night, Kotu does some shots with stand ins to get an idea of what they’ll be looking at.

Clint’s thinking that Jesse may throw him under the bus and is just giving him enough rope to hang himself. Jesse is convinced they’ll lose.

Annie feels that Melissa’s doing a good job of conspiring against herself, so she doesn’t need to set her up.

Jesse thinks Clint sucks. He hates the direction they’re going, so he starts to detach himself from it.

Melissa’s mad (still) because they’re capable of doing everything without her.

Clint takes control of the photo shoot, of course.

Clint takes control of the editing while his team just sits on the couch not participating. Annie and Brande peek in to see the other team, which leads Joan to get running with the personal attacks again.

Jesse’s not hiding his feelings. He hates Clint’s design, but he’s not offering any constructive criticism.

Unlike them, Athena’s confident they’re going to win. Jim Kramer believes Annie’s brilliant. She’s got it set up so that she gets all the credit if they win but doesn’t take the bullet if they lose. Melissa, however, would like to take equal credit for everything.

Clint does the pitch for his team. Jesse considers this irrelevant because the rest of their ad doesn’t stack up.

Annie will be doing the pitch for her team. Melissa doesn’t like her presentation style.

Kotu’s orange color, which Clint pushed for, was liked by the executives, as was the power stripe idea that bordered the page. However, the use of a Right Guard jersey instead of a Knicks jersey didn’t work for them because David Lee is not too recognizable.

They liked Athena’s images, but they didn’t like that they buried the best image on page 3 of the ad.

Jesse tells Trump he didn’t think there was much of a team because Clint didn’t utilize his team members as well as he could have. Clint didn’t consider Jesse to be a team player. Joan doesn’t want to side with either one.

Joan’s angry that Annie knows David Lee.

Annie says that, if they lost, she should not be the one who is fired. Ivanka doesn’t like that Brande gave away the most important aspects of the task.

Melissa and Joan jump in to attack Annie and Brande.

Annie says that she’d rather go up against Melissa in the finals because Brande’s a much more effective fundraiser, so from a gameplay standpoint, it would make more sense to get rid of Brande, rather than ganging up on Melissa.

The executives liked both, but the winning ad is Kotu’s. Now Clint has to get some credit, although Jesse isn’t as happy as he probably should be with the win. Clint’s charity is the International Rett Syndrome Foundation.

Jim Kramer thinks Brande’s gotta go.

Annie says that Brande has been a stronger player overall.

Brande does not think that Annie should be fired, so she would get rid of Melissa, who’s gotten too personal in the game. Jim Kramer considers this too soft an answer.

Melissa acknowledges that she’s in the middle of the pack as a fundraiser but claims she’s done the most work.

Jim Kramer’s changed his mind based on Brande’s passionate response to his criticism that she was being too soft. He’d fire Melissa. Trump runs with this and fires her, knowing she would not be an effective fundraiser on the final tasks.

Melissa runs out of the boardroom as quickly as possible. She runs in to tell her mommy, swears at the girls, and demands her luggage. Joan says she’s leaving, too. Good riddance. Unfortunately, she doesn’t leave before she and her daughter scream some more and make even bigger fools of themselves. They’ve been the most poor sports in this whole season, but they’re even poorer losers.

The Amazing Race 14 Episode 10

The Amazing Race 14 Episode 9 was largely pointless, as Mark & Michael never had a chance to even make it appear like they were going to survive.

Teams depart in the order in which they arrived.

First: Kisha & Jen – 1:48PM
Second: Tammy & Victor – 1:49PM
Third: Margie & Luke – 1:50PM
Fourth: Jaime & Cara – 2:12PM

Teams will now fly over 1000 miles to Beijing, China, which once again should play out favorably for Tammy & Victor. All teams get on the same flight.

The drama of the end of the last leg continues, no matter how much the two teams involved claim they’re over it. Kisha & Jen continue to isolate themselves from the other teams, and from the country of China in general.

The first stop is a foot massage parlor. The road block is to participate in a traditional Chinese foot massage. First, they will drink a medicinal tea, then they’ll get a foot massage known for its therapeutic powers. It lasts ten minutes and walks a fine line between pleasure and pain. Afterward, they will drink another cup of tea. If you say uncle, they’ll stop, only to start all over again.

Road block (in order of arrival): Cara, Kisha, Tammy, Luke

Cara’s crying while Kisha bites down on her jacket. Tammy’s a trooper and seems to have the easiest time with it. Luke is struggling as bad as the first two were.

From there, teams will head to Guangcai Natatorium. Jen’s already freaking herself out, figuring that they will have to swim.

Tammy & Victor tell a cab driver where to go, then Jaime & Cara grab that cab from them. Tammy & Victor just take the next cab, and they still get there first because they’re able to communicate the correct door to their new driver.

The detour is a choice between sync or swim. In sync, teams try to master the skill of synchronized diving by jumping off the 3 meter springboard in unison. In swim, teams must swim 8 lengths of the pool in a 400m relay. Each member must complete 200m of the relay.

Swim: Jaime & Cara, Luke & Margie, Kisha & Jen, Tammy & Victor (switched from sync), Kisha & Jen (switched from sync to swim back to sync back to swimming)

Jaime & Cara are doing okay on the swimming, even if it is exhausting. Tammy & Victor are slowly getting the hang of the diving. Jen’s convinced she’s going to die. Margie & Luke are also doing fine on the swimming, which is proving to be the easier task. Kisha’s just pulling herself through the swimming task by holding on to the buoys. Jaime & Cara have managed to complete their task first. After Kisha’s done pulling herself through the first lap of the swimming, Jen decides to switch again. Margie & Luke are done next. Tammy & Victor are still struggling to get past a 4 (they need a 5), but Tammy’s not a good swimmer. They eventually decide to switch. Meanwhile, Jen’s having a breakdown on the diving. She wants to go home. Tammy & Victor have completed the swimming task. Kisha pulls Jen up as they switch back to the swimming task. Jen’s allowed to wear a life vest to complete the swimming task, which makes me wonder why they didn’t just do that and avoid all the initial drama.

The pit stop for this leg of the race is Drum Tower. Except it’s not really a pit stop. Jaime & Cara are the first team to arrive at Phil, who hands them another clue. The leg will continue.

The Apprentice UK Series 5 Episode 5

Despite being praised for being a good team leader, Paula was fired in The Apprentice UK Series 5 Episode 4.

The task is to create a new brand identity for Sir Alan’s new breakfast cereal. They will come up with a name, character, and marketing campaign.

Kimberly will be the project manager for Ignite. Kate will lead Empire.

Ad agency McCann-Erickson will be the creative home for the teams.

Yasmina and Debra are on market research, which means a trip to the store. They find a common theme with the other cereals. They all have cartoon characters on them. Running with the pirate theme he suggested earlier, James suggests they have a parrot who’s a pirate.

The other team has gone with Philip’s idea, Pantsman, a character who puts his underpants on the outside of his clothing. Perhaps it’ll make sense when they’re done.

Yasmina and James have gone to create a jingle for their cereal, Treasure Flakes.

Ignite’s cereal is Wake Up Call. Philip has already written their jingle. Lorraine’s still not onboard with their team’s campaign, and she’s not hiding it from the rest of the team. After that, they call the graphic designer and tell him they’re not going back to the agency, so it’s up to him to do everything for them. The next morning when they get their box, they’re not happy with it.

Ben will play the pirate parrot for the commercial, while Kate directs. Margaret is concerned their commercial is too complex.

Kate will direct for the other team, while Noorul dresses as Pantsman. He also believes he can participate in the directing.

Unlike Empire, which hired a professional singer, Philip will be singing for Ignite. Once project manager Kate hears the professional singer, she decides she would prefer a male singer, so she asks Ben to do a voiceover.

Nick notices that the kids don’t find the Pantsman concept at all funny, even though the team finds it hilarious.

Kimberly and Mona get into an argument about the presentation. Kimberly’s frustrated with Mona but doesn’t want to step up to the plate and do it herself, even if she’s more qualified.

Debra pitches for Treasure Flakes. One concern is that they’re trying to corner too many markets and don’t have one specific focus.

Mona does the pitch for Wake Up Call as planned. Unlike the other team, their box is blank except for the front. Their product name also doesn’t tie in well with the character.

Kimberly’s team supports her, except for Lorraine. Sir Alan shoots down Lorraine’s concept that she wouldn’t let go the whole time. He wanted one character, so her idea of multiple characters wouldn’t have worked for him.

The ad agency found the execution of their commercial to be very good.

Kate’s whole team supports her.

The ad agency did not enjoy their commercial. However, their overall campaign was considered to be clearly the best one. Empire is the obvious winner. As for Ignite, he considers their campaign to be garbage.

Sir Alan heard from Nick that Philip bulldozed his idea over the team. Kimberly says that she is not a creative person and just did the best she could with a bad idea.

Lorraine and Philip will be going back to the boardroom.

Philip would like Kimberly fired because she brought him back.

He gets his wish because Kimberly has been fired. Sir Alan’s well aware that he’s left two people who have argued all day together, and he’s looking forward to it.

Hell’s Kitchen Season 5 Episode 12

Andrea won immunity in Hell’s Kitchen 5 Episode 11, but after her horrible performance, Ramsay decided if he couldn’t get rid of her, he wouldn’t fire anybody. Robert, however, had to go home due to medical problems.

Chef Ramsay has made some food for them to eat. The majority of them like the fish stew, so they’ve got half an hour to make it. Danny uses the red snapper, while the others use halibut. Andrea goes for bay scallops, while the others use sea scallops. Paula uses water as a base, while the others use fish stock. Danny and Paula use white wine, Andrea uses sambuca, and Ben covers his choice with a cloth so nobody else sees it. Andrea’s not confident and peeks at what the others are doing.

Danny’s the only one to get the fish right. Ben had it in his hand but changed his mind. Ben was the only one to get the liquor right. Andrea was the only one to get the scallops wrong. Ben had too much saffron in his dish. Nobody wants yellow lips. It’s between Danny and Paula. Because he used fish stock instead of water, Danny wins.

The others will hand polish the crystal and cutlery. They will also prep for dinner service that night. For his reward, Danny hops in the limo that takes him to a biplane.

Andrea’s complaining nonstop. The good news is she shouldn’t survive much longer anyway.

Before service, Ramsay has given them a gift: Gordon Ramsay Cookware by Royal Doulton.

The slate’s been wiped clean. Danny liked his slate.

Ben’s messing up the orders early, but his risotto’s nice.

Everything seems to be going smoothly, but Ben jumps ahead and Ramsay wants him to listen closer.

Andrea’s meat is cooked perfectly. Time to speed up the appetizer production. This time, Ben’s bland risotto has been rejected.

Paula doesn’t hear the order and falls behind by not cooking enough. He tells her she’s the slowest so far.

Back to Ben. He’s struggling with the salad.

Next it’s Danny’s turn. He’s falling behind on the garnish station.

Andrea’s continuing strong on the meat. This is different.

Ben forgot to drop the pasta. Danny is amused with Ben burying himself.

Andrea has started going south. She messes up her wellingtons and is afraid to tell Ramsay. They’re good enough to serve.

In between Ramsay’s yelling, it’s time for a happy moment. One of the customers proposes to his girlfriend.

Back to the grind. Andrea doesn’t know where two of her wellingtons have gone. That botches what had been a great service with just three tables left.

The four of them will have to come up with a consensus who needs to leave. Ben picks Andrea based on her overall performance. Andrea picks Ben based on tonight’s performance. Danny picks Andrea based on how she crashed and burned at the end of the night’s service. She says she has experience but doesn’t feel the need to list her credentials. Paula picks Ben because he’s not as great as he thinks he is. It’s obvious they won’t reach a consensus.

Ben and Andrea step forward. Again. Andrea has by some miracle survived again, but Ben has run out of chances.

Survivor: Tocantins Episode 10

Brendan’s Exile alliance, which initially seemed like it would shake up the season but ended up quite lame, flipped on him and sent him home in Survivor: Tocantins Episode 9. This led to Coach’s ego going out of control as he told a bunch of stories that nobody believed.

Sierra admits defeat when she gets back to camp. The next morning, she’s got a bit of fight in her, though.

Tyson and Coach aren’t giving her any room to move. They’re not even pretending they find her of any use.

For the challenge, they are divided into two teams of four. They will gather puzzle boards and arrange them in the correct spots and flip them until they reveal seven vowels, which they will arrange with seven consonants to form a four word phrase. The winning tribe will get a local outing with a feast and martial arts demonstration. Red team is JT, Erinn, Debbie, and Tyson. Black team is Coach, Stephen, Sierra, and Taj. JT and Erinn are against Coach and Stephen. It’s roughly even after the first leg. Taj and Sierra manage to gain the lead for black team. Coach and Stephen drop the lead, though, on the third leg and get quite a bit behind. Red team’s got a lead when they begin flipping the boards. Red team is the first to get their vowels. Black team is hopeless as red team spells out “You’ve won a feast.” JT decides to send Stephen to Exile so he can get the idol if there’s one placed there. Probst rubs the loss in Coach’s face, who says he didn’t line up boards in the Amazon.

Stephen gets clue number 7. No new idol. Unexpected twist.

Debbie isn’t budging any for Sierra either. For some reason, Erinn comes to Debbie’s defense. Wait a minute. Does Erinn actually think she’s in with them? What’s more, does she actually believe she’s in control here?

Coach’s advice to Sierra: just fall on your sword and be honorable.

They arrive at the challenge in the middle of a downpour. They will play the Survivor version of shuffleboard. Jeff offers anyone willing to skip the immunity challenge the chance to eat instead. Stephen, JT, and Coach get pizza. Tyson’s not happy. Each player will get three shots to play on the table that’s slowly getting flooded as they shiver in the rain. Great planning. Tyson is knocked closest to the mark by Taj. Erinn takes the lead. Sierra knocks Tyson back into the lead. Taj is wishing she ate. Tyson gets even closer. Sierra knocks Tyson out and puts herself in the lead. Coach is regretting that he chose to eat instead. Debbie knocks Sierra out and wins immunity.

Taj, Stephen, and Erinn begin discussing how much of a threat Tyson is. Can they take him out while he doesn’t have that necklace? Stephen approaches JT to discuss the plan. They don’t want to bother discussing this with Sierra because they don’t trust her, and they don’t need her vote anyway.

Tyson says he loves everybody but Sierra, including Brendan. Sierra points out the obvious: Tyson’s a threat, certainly more than she is. Coach says he wants to walk the path of the noble warrior and pit himself against the best competition, despite voting out Brendan.
