The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Big Brother will be back for a 10th season, which will as usual be a summer edition. Considering its competition (American Idol), Big Brother 9 has performed decently, even if it’s getting crushed in the ratings like everything else that goes up against Idol. A premiere date is not yet known, but the show typically starts right around the 4th of July.

Kyle XY Season 2 Episode 23
Kyle’s trying to prepare for the prom, so he watches a prom/slasher film. He hopes to come up with the perfect plan for the perfect prom. Lori warns him not to get too caught up in the planning.
Adam tells Kyle he needs a break from the Latnok community, and he’s asked them to give Kyle a break as well. He tells him they’ve been watching him for a while, waiting to take a larger role in his development. He knows Kyle doesn’t want to go with him and would rather stay with his family.
Amanda just hopes prom won’t be a huge disaster.
Sarah wants to leave Seattle with Jessi. To go somewhere else. Anywhere else.
Josh tells Kyle he’s hoping prom will help him get some extra bases. Kyle’s seen that in the movies, where often times the young teens end up getting fatally mutiliated.
Kyle is afraid Latnok’s still out there watching him, regardless of Adam’s request to leave him alone.
Despite Kyle’s pleas that she stay, Jessi doesn’t want to risk telling Sarah she wants to stay because it’ll mess things up if she leaves anyway.
Stephen is getting as concerned as everyone else about the sexual tension between Mark and Lori. She tells him she’s getting ready for prom with Declan, and the store’s closed anyway. He wants Josh’s store closed as well.
Amanda’s stressed out that the decorating isn’t going according to plan. She asks Kyle to send the dress but not come himself. Jessi volunteers to bring it. When she arrives, Jessi calls Kyle to tell him what’s happening at the school, and instead of not worrying about making it more special, he decides he needs to come to the rescue. When Amanda shows up, she’s greeted by a fairy tale prom scene.
Andy comes over to the house to get makeup help from Lori so that she doesn’t look like a vampire clown whore. Lori tells Josh not to screw up this defining moment in his otherwise idiotic life.
Lori and Josh duck out and hide from their dates at the prom. Josh is freaking out about sex. Lori’s confused about whether she should actually be with Declan. With some words of wisdom from Nicole, Kyle helps them realize they’ve come a long way and should just be having fun. Lori heads back inside to find out that Mark is only 19, despite how old he may seem.
Heading to check on a roof leak, Kyle finds Jessi, who he thought left hours ago. He takes the opportunity to say goodbye. She jumps off the roof, and she’s gone.
Kyle was right. He has been followed. By Foss, who says he doesn’t know if Latnok should be trusted and that Kyle should always worry. Kyle says not tonight.
Andy does have plans for after the prom: ice cream and video games. This is in line with Josh’s plans, as he’s not sure they’re ready for anything else.
Declan heard Lori’s song at the prom and doesn’t want to be the one holding her back. She agrees they shouldn’t be together.
The prom is over, and everybody starts to leave. That doesn’t stop Kyle from having one last dance with Amanda, though. He still wants to know something he doesn’t know about her. She tells him she loves him, then he answers her question whether he can fly by levitating so she doesn’t get her feet wet from the leaking water.
Amanda left her other clothes inside. Kyle goes back in to get them. When he returns, she’s gone. A Latnok is all that remains where she had been standing.
Given its strong ratings, it should come as no surprise, but Kyle XY season 3 has been confirmed. It’s unclear whether this will again be a summer show or will be back in the fall.
Jericho Season 2 Episode 6
The town managed to avenge Bonnie’s death in Jericho Season 2 Episode 5, killing John Getz and hanging him from a tree, despite a warning from Beck to not take matters into their own hands.
Beck is back in town and is hunting down those he feels were responsible for the death of Getz. Hawkins warns them things will get worse until Beck gets the shooter. Jake goes to Beck and blames himself, asking for the amnesty of the others. Beck accepts the surrender but not the terms.
Beck doesn’t believe Jake’s story that he was the killer. On the contrary, he knows the whole story, including that Stanley killed Getz. He wants Stanley, but Jake plays dumb.
Chavez phones Hawkins to warn him that Texas is ready to join Cheyenne and that they need to get the package down there as soon as possible. He hopes his fake Jennings & Rall badge will help him get through the checkpoints.
The town has a plan. They steal the resupply convoy and offer it as a trade for Jake. Beck approaches Jake to force him to sign a letter rejecting their tactics, but this obviously doesn’t work. He now considers the rangers fugitives and declares Jericho an open insurrection and plans to shut down the town’s power and food supplies, but Jake tells him they’ve lived without that stuff before.
Hawkins gets another call from his mystery caller. He’s asked to take the bomb to a secure destination closer to home, waiting a day or two. He ignores the request and leaves right away. He doesn’t just have a J&R shirt and badge. He stole one of their trucks, too.
Heather tells Beck she can’t tell the difference between him and Phil Constantino at this point.
Jake is gaining strength from his grandfather’s wisdom, as he was also captured and tortured. He realizes it all comes down to revolution.
Mimi insists on going to see Stanley. She wants to just get through it, but he seems defeated, blaming himself for shooting a guy who at the time was just some helpless guy.
Hawkins gets another call from his mystery friend, who asks why he’s on his way to Texas and tells him to turn the car around. He declines and keeps driving.
Jake tells Beck his father and grandfather never would have handed their town over to a mercenary. Then he warns him of a revolution against him, telling him he’s just middle management in a company.
Hawkins’ mystery man gives Beck a call and tells him that Hawkins is the guy he wants and that he has a nuclear bomb.
Jake’s mom comes to visit him with a message that Eric and the boys are coming and to not give up.
While he’s driving, Hawkins sees he’s got company, both trucks behind him and a helicopter up above. Good idea. Chase after a guy with a nuke in the back of his truck. Then start shooting at him. The truck comes to a stop, and they get the package they want, though Hawkins manages to escape.
The rangers figure out where Jake is being held, and they break in and rescue him.
Hawkins gets another call from the mystery man, and he comes to the conclusion that there was a tracking device inside the bomb and blames him for having put the plan to blow up the country into practice. The excuse: it was about liberating the country, in an effort to eliminate J&R, which is now centralized in one city. The anonymous caller’s theory now is that J&R may be more powerful but they’re also more vulnerable. He wants to use the bomb to blow up Cheyenne and wipe them out for good.
Hawkins approaches Jake to get some help with stopping the bomb from going off in Cheyenne.
Considering where things stand now, it’s hard to see how they plan to wrap it up in just one episode, but taking into account the show’s low ratings in its current 10 on Tuesdays deathslot, that appears to be where we’re headed. At this time, the show has not yet been cancelled nor renewed, and next week’s episode is being billed as a season finale, rather than a series finale. As a contingency plan, two endings have been filmed. One is a cliffhanger, and one is a definitive ending (in which we’re supposed to believe it took a year for the country to be healed after 23 major cities were destroyed).

Big Brother 9 Episode 16
Following his return to the house, James won an endurance competition in Big Brother 9 Episode 15. During the competition, he made a deal with Natalie to not nominate her or Matt. Following this, he made it his mission to make sure the liars in the house paid, nominating Ryan and Sheila.
It’s time for another episode of Bible Buddies. They’re trying to figure out where the holy grail is.
Now that she’s on the block, Sheila takes the opportunity to apologize to Adam for how she treated him at the beginning of the game.
They’re trying to figure out where the third mystery box vote was. Natalie pretends that it was Adam, but Sharon’s not buying.
Sheila’s losing it, becoming even more of an emotional wreck than she was to begin with. The house decides to play a trick on her. They wake her up and pretend the POV is going on in the backyard.
It’s now time to pick players for the real veto competition.
James randomly selects Matt to play for veto.
Sheila randomly selects Chelsia.
Ryan randomly selects Joshuah, believing their alliance will hold.
They walk outside and see a huge guinea pig cage. They’ll need to transport wooden blocks across balance beams two at a time. Whoever falls or drops blocks is eliminated. Matt is the first to fall, saying he didn’t put forth his best effort, which to me doesn’t make a lot of sense. Ryan is the next to fall. Chelsia’s off to the lead, with James close behind. Sheila’s way behind but hopes somebody else will slip and fall from going too fast. She drops a block while trying to retrieve a block from the box, though, and is the next person out of the competition. 1 hour and 13 minutes in, Chelsia continues to lead, but she loses her balance and is out. James manages to get all of his blocks, and he is the winner of the power of veto. He’s happy he has a chance to shake things up, though unless he really doesn’t want one of these people to go, pissing off a third person doesn’t make much sense.
Natalie tells Sheila that if things stay the same, it will be really hard for her to choose between the two. Sheila is pissed off about this, too. Her conversation with Adam, who says he doesn’t want to think about it until after the veto ceremony, leads her to believe she’s all alone in the house. She goes to talk to James and throws Adam under the bus. He suggests that maybe Matt or Adam will leave this week because neither will come clean about the vote. Adam tries to convince James he’s not the third vote, but he doesn’t help his case any.
James tells Chelsia he’s going to use the power of veto to put Adam up.
Before making a decision, he wants to talk to Sharon first. On her way up to his room, she demonstrates her terrible acting skills. When she arrives up there, she tells him Matt was the third vote “for a fact.” His new plan is to take Sheila off the block and put up Matt.
As planned, James removes Sheila and places Matt on the block in her place. James, who claims to be the only honest person in the house and who says he’s punishing people for being liars, has gone back on his word to keep Matt safe. Apparently, lying is only okay if you’re lying to someone who lied to you. I’m good with the lying in this game. I’m just not thrilled with hypocrites who pretend to take the high road and then do the same thing they whine about others doing. As far as I’m concerned, if you’re going to be a liar, be an honest liar.
Programming note: Due to college basketball on Thursday, Big Brother 9 Episode 17 will air at a special time tomorrow at 9/8c, following Survivor: Micronesia at 8/7c.

Beauty and the Geek 5 Episode 2
This year’s lame twist turned out to be as bad as last year’s lame twist in Beauty and the Geek 5 Episode 1. In a competition based show, a wrench like beauty vs. the geek gives one or more people an obvious advantage in the challenges.
Tara’s not happy to see Jonathan come back. She thinks he’s just odd.
Amber thinks Tom’s good looking and hopes that one day he will be really rich and take care of her. For some reason, he likes her, too.
The next challenge is a talent show. The girls are worried that they’re talentless. The guys may have less self confidence, but they’re confident they’re more talented than the girls are. The beauties spend their time bickering. The geeks are working on… a rap?
The beauties eventually give up and decide to play spin the bottle instead.
Amber reveals to the other beauties that she’s just playing Tom so she doesn’t go into the elimination room.
The beauties have finally come up with something. They’re going to do a dance routine dressed up like Britney Spears (before the children/losing her mind). Unfortunately, there’s no actual “routine” to their dance routine, so they just do random dances. The crowd hates them.
The geeks are a whole different story. Their hodge podge of talents comes together well to form an entertaining and funny show.
Unsurprisingly, the geeks win the challenge. Amanda realizes that they failed to use something other than their beauty, thereby failing to realize the whole point of the challenge. At least she’s showing some growth, even if her teammates aren’t. The geeks will be able to send 5 of them to the elimination room.
Some of the girls are studying. Some of them would rather try to sell themselves. Amber continues working the Tom angle. Leticia and Tiffany hop in the hot tub because they feel studying is beneath them. The guys appear naive enough to fall for this. What this also accomplishes is it gets the other girls to hate them.
The geeks focus on who they want to keep. They turn this into an excessively complicated Congressional measure. Even some of the geeks are confused by it.
Amber (who blames a “certain person” on her team), Amanda, Randi, Kristina, and Jillian. Amber disputes the fact that Leticia hasn’t been sent to the elimination room, and on this point, I agree with her. Leticia’s wasting space there in hopes of getting an extra modelling gig. Not that Amber’s any better.
Amanda knows Chicago is in Illinois and is safe. Kristina is the next one safe by knowing the name of a play. Jillian knows math and is also safe. So it’s down to Amber and Randi. Randi knows the question about hookers, and Amber is eliminated. She says the experience hasn’t changed her any. She is willing to talk to Tom if he still wants to talk to her after this, though she’s not interested in having him as a boyfriend.

Paris Hilton Searching for New BFF
Paris Hilton has signed on with MTV to do a new reality show tentatively titled Paris Hilton’s My New BFF (best friend forever for those of you who don’t speak teenage girl), reports Variety. The show will feature 20 potential new best friends competing to prove they have what it takes to hang with Paris Hilton.
MTV has ordered 10 episodes of the show, which will air during the fourth quarter of 2008.
Big Brother 9 Episode 15
After voting out James 5-1, the house decided to let him come back in the house in Big Brother 9 Episode 14. They’re either really stupid, or, well, yeah, that about sums it up. Oops. Sorry America for wasting your time with the last pointless week and also for pretending you had a vote. We left off in the middle of an endurance HOH competition.
James wants to win HOH because his dignity is on the line. Apparently being voted out of the Big Brother house means being stripped of your dignity.
Natalie explains her vote to bring James back. She stabbed her alliance in the back, but she would be redeeming herself and giving her word back to James. I still don’t get it.
Adam’s the first one out of the HOH competition at 15 minutes. Joshuah is next out. Matt’s out at 40 minutes. Sheila admits that she was one of the people who voted for the mystery guest, saying that Alex didn’t get a chance the first time. She falls at an hour.
At 2 hours 31 minutes, Sharon’s the next person to fall. Matt and Ryan are getting concerned that Adam will be turning on them if they’re no longer in power. Matt promises to give Natalie her massage if she wins. James warns that since he was backdoored (because he played a dumb game), he’s going to backdoor someone else. Chelsia is the next one to fall at 3 hours 19 minutes. James offers a deal. Ryan must go on the block no matter what, and if Natalie agrees, James will drop. Ryan doesn’t want her to take the deal. 7 minutes later, Natalie comes up with a counteroffer, asking for safety for herself and Matt. James agrees, and Natalie drops. If she hadn’t voted him back in the house, she would have won HOH. Since she didn’t, James has. James lets everybody know he sticks to his word unlike everybody else in the house. I’ll believe it when I see it.
Natalie finally figures out how to get a massage from Matt. She has to hang on a disco ball for hours. There’s some chat about how they’re still partners. Matt refuses to admit that it wasn’t him who voted for the mystery box. Josh brings this up to Adam because he wants to know who the third vote is (he also doesn’t want James to turn on him just yet).
James has his targets already in mind as to who’s the biggest threat to him, but at the end of the day, he doesn’t trust anybody in the house since they all voted against him. Back in week three, he was the person saying “It’s just a game.” Now he’s pissed off at everybody for playing that game.
James gives a speech at the nomination ceremony about how he doesn’t like that he was lied to, and that all people have in the house is their word.
