the Amazing Race 10 – Episode 13 (Season Finale)

December 10th, 2006 – Unfortunately, all good things in life must come to an end, and oddly enough, in reality TV life too. Tonight’s episode 13 of the Amazing Race 10 was a roller coaster ride for the emotions from start to finish. It’s hard to believe they managed to fit everything into the 1-hour time slot, the entire episode was go go go. But enough of the chit-chat, let’s get to the goods!

Remember John Lennon 1940 – 1980

rip john lennon

John Lennon (October 9th, 1940 – December 8th, 1980)

It was twenty-six years ago today that one of the greatest musicians and people to have ever existed was shot down by a psycho. The incredibly talented singer/songwriter of The Beatles was shot and killed at the prime of his life. What a waste of such a brilliant talent. John could have went on to do amazing things in his life, and if it wasn’t for the stupidity of a single individual, there’s no telling what he could have accomplished.

The world lost an amazing person 26 years ago, don’t forget him.

Survivor Cook Islands – Episode 12

December 7th, 2006 – Tonight’s episode kicks off with the tribe members returning to their beach after tribal council, where Jonathan proceeds to whine and complain about all the bad names Adam and Parvati – well, mostly Adam – have taken to calling him. The two that stick out to Jonathan, for obvious reasons, are rat and cancer. Now, I can understand calling someone a rat, but calling someone a cancer? That’s just not cool. All the guy is doing is playing the game and playing it to win. Sure, he’s an ass and absolutely everyone hates the guy, but still, calling someone a cancer is over the line. People were blown away by Susan Hawk’s comments in the season finale of the first Survivor, Survivor: Borneo, but those comments were nothing compared to calling someone a cancer, that’s just not right. But, enough of dwelling on that and on with the goods!

Perez Hilton on the Howard Stern Show!

Perez Hilton on Howard Stern

The self proclaimed Queen of all Media Perez Hilton paid a visit to Howard Stern and the results were fantastic! Perez’s popularity is skyrocketing, and his chat with Howard Stern is certainly one to remember. I only wish had have been able to listen to it all live. Luckily Perez has the last 20-mins of his appearance available for listening on his website!

My favorite part comes near the very end when one of Howard Stern‘s fans calls in and doesn’t seem to be to big a fan of Perez, to say the least. It’s hard to believe people so ignorant and close minded still exist on this planet, it really is unfortunate.

Survivor Fiji Filming During Military Coup

Survivor: Fiji is the 14th season of the founding father of reality TV and is currently filming on the island of Vanua Levu, the second largest island of Fiji. Though filming for this season will be sure to be the most interesting production to date.

The other day a military coup was held in Fiji where the military overthrew the government in a bloodless coup, “claiming that the Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase’s government is corrupt.” Luckily the coup was bloodless and took place on the island of Viti Levu, which is a 30-min flight from Vanua Levu, where Survivor: Fiji is filming. Luckily, the coup has yet to have a direct effect on the Survivor: Fiji production, though you can bet the entire production crew is a little on edge.

Survivor host Jeff Probst sent the following email to Entertainment Weekly to let everyone know that production has not been affected and everyone is okay:

“To be shooting Survivor while the host country is in the midst of a coup is a bit surreal for all of us here in Fiji. We have set up our satellite TV in the catering area [for producers and crew members only] and during dinner the entire crew watches the local news to get updates on what is happening. … Fortunately, we are on another island that is a 30-minute flight away from the capital city of Suva where the coup is centered. Everyone here is safe and the disruptions thus far have been minimal. We had a few production staff stationed in Suva that we brought back to base camp, and during the past week any crew members that were scheduled to fly to location were unable to due to flight cancellations. Otherwise, we have continued filming without interruption.”

More important than the effects the coup could have on the Survivor production are the effects it will have on the people of Fiji. Thankfully the coup was bloodless and thus far no one has been harmed, and we can only hope, for the people of Fiji, that it will stay that way.

the Biggest Loser 3 Recap: Episode 11 – The Fantastic Four

the Biggest Loser 3: Episode 11

December 6th, 2006 – Tonight’s episode of the Biggest Loser 3 was a 2-hour special to lead up to next weeks finale, only it wasn’t a usual 2-hour special. The entire first hour of the show was actually dedicated to the high schools of North America, where obesity in young people is quickly becoming a major problem.

The blue team trainer Bob Harper, red team trainer Kim Lyons and the Biggest Loser 2 winner and Co-Founder of the Biggest Loser Club Matt Hoover, went to two High Schools and select 6 overweight teens from each school to join a mini-biggest loser competitions. The results were very surprising for only three weeks of work, and all of the kids stayed focused and dedicated enough to shed as much as 25lbs a piece.

I have to give it to the guys at CBS’ for this idea, it was a really good one and draws attention to the increase in obeisity rates at a young age, as well as the effects corporate and fast-food sponsorships have on high school caffeteria’s and the food they offer. But that’s for another rant, so let’s get on to what everyone wants, the episode 11 recap!

Heroes: Episode 11 “Fallout”

December 5th, 2006 – Well, I have some good news, and some bad news.

The good news: Last night’s episode 11 of NBC’s Heroes was fantastic! It was one of the best episodes yet and brought all of the Heroes together even more. It is without a doubt that Heroes is the best show on TV right now, which leads me to the bad news.

The bad news: We don’t get another episode of Heroes until January 1st! Because the “fall season” is ending for TV stations and November sweeps is over, the folks at NBC have decided to keep us hanging in suspense until January 1st before we’ll get our next glimpse of a new Heroes episode. How lame is that?! They air one of the best episodes to date and then cut us off for just shy of a month. That’s not right man, I need my fix! What am I supposed to watch on Monday night’s now? My life will have no meaning until January 1st.

Okay, Okay, a little over dramatic, but you get the point. If you’ve been a dedicated fan of Heroes the entire season, such as I have, you’re probably none to happy to learn you’ll have to wait another month for the next episode either. Without a doubt it will be worth it, but that’s so far away.

In the meantime, you can always pass time by watching the last 11 episodes of Heroes on NBC’s website. They’re nice enough to offer to full episodes online, only problem is, if you’re anywhere other than in the US, such as I am, they won’t let you watch them, for whatever stupid reason. So, if you’re in the US, enjoy the old episodes, if not, you’re out of luck, just like I am, until January 1st, so mark the day on your calender!

And just for you hardcore fans out there, you can see a preview video of episode 12 “Godsend” after the jump, enjoy!
