TV Shows That Rock: Entourage on HBO

I’ll be the first to admit that I never saw myself as being much of an Entourage fan, but after a bit of talking with some people at work, I finally decided to give the show a shot a few months ago and was I ever impressed. Being in Canada and not having HBO as part of my TV plan, I was limited to watching reruns of the show compliments of a local TV station, that is of course, until I found alternative methods of getting my hands on the first two seasons and part 1 of the third season.

Once I finally had the ability to enjoy the show from the very beginning, I was hooked. It was only a matter of days before I had wiped through the entire first, second, and third seasons of HBO’s Entourage. My experience with coming to the final episode of the third season was much like that of when NBC’s Heroes went on hiatus. I had gotten so into the show that it really sucked not being able to have that fresh episode every week, luckily that has all come to an end.

On April 8th the show made it’s triumphant return to HBO to close out its third season and things are as good as ever. Naturally, since I still don’t have the ability to watch Entourage on HBO, I’ve found other ways of getting my paws on the episodes to stay my cravings.

Apparently I’m not the only one that missed the show while it was on hiatus. According to the TV gods at Variety, Entourage returned to HBO to some of its highest ratings ever, attracting some 3.77 million viewers, a whopping 40% more than the shows season two debut.

Heroes Episode 19 Spoilers – Part 1

D-Day is quickly approaching and the seemingly endless hiatus that NBC Heroes has been on is now coming to an end in only 12 days. Twelve long, painful days.

Heroes will return to much jubilation and excitement on April 23rd with the first of only five episodes left in the shows highly successful debut season.

What better way is there to celebrate the return of one of the best shows on television than to dish the dirt on what you can expect!

Leading up to April 23rd and the return of Heroes on NBC, I will be making a series of spoiler posts giving away tid-bits of information surrounding the series epic return. Without further adieu, I present to you the first set of Heroes Episode 19 Spoilers:

From TV.com:

“Sylar and Peter face off. Sylar will face off with another Hero and Isaac’s new pictures show a dead Hero without a brain. Two unexpected reunions will occur and Linderman will reveal to Nathan shocking secrets and plans. We will meet a computer savvy geek and a competent security guard who works in the Corinthian Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. A hero dies.”

From TVGuide.com:

“Sylar confronts two more on the list; Nathan considers Linderman’s advice as he faces difficult decisions; Thompson (Eric Roberts) hunts for Claire; Hiro renews his vow to save the world.”

Stay tuned for the next installment of Heroes Episode 19 Spoilers! I have barely scratched the very surface of what is to come and you can expect to learn a great deal more in the coming days.

Spring TV Premieres: All That’s Old Is New Again

Yesterday I talked about all of the Spring TV Finales, some new shows and some old, that are coming to an end over the next few months, and I have to admit, looking back on the post, the number of really crappy shows out weighs the number of good shows by a 10 to 1 margin. It’s sad, really, that there are so many networks and shows to choose from, but only a select few are even worth the time watching. Sometimes it makes me wonder what I even have cable for, then a show like NBC Heroes comes along and blows me, and a large portion of TV watching North America, away. Shows as good and as original as Heroes are few and far between, but there is always hope.

With the large batch of shows checking out during the Spring, there are going to be just as many kicking into gear to pick up the slack, some of which will have to be good. The majority of TV shows returning this spring are veterans of the TV arena and are either continuing an existing season or kicking off an all new season, but either way, you can bet there are going to be a few keepers. I already have a couple favorite in mind that are making their returns to the air, and let me tell you, I’m really looking forward to having some good TV to watch again!
