Online Nation Cancelled

Online Nation, which saw a ridiculously low viewership of just 580,000 people in what was to be its final broadcast, has been cancelled by The CW, effective immediately. Apparently it’s dragging down the (dead) Sunday night lineup or something.

In its place, Aliens in America will be airing, which seems completely out of place in that time slot, but it does revert back to what The WB has historically done on Sunday night in terms of promoting its other nights with reruns.

It’s unclear why CW Now has not also been cancelled or just how much life it has left in it, as it, too, is well under 1 million viewers.

CSI: NY Season 4, Episode 4 – “Time’s Up”

In last week’s episode, “You Only Die Once”, the team encounters a group of spy wannabes that robs Flack’s girlfriend and chief Sinclair’s apartment using an extremely high-tech batmobile-like car. This week, the CSI: NY team faces two weird cases – a college girl with a COD of death by orgasm and a naked man who claims he’s from the future, but dies at the police station after confessing to a murder that will happen the next day.

The crime scene was in front of the police station, where the victim’s blood scattered. They found a piece of glass, which may have been the cause of death, as the victim tried to get it out of his neck.

Of course, Flack searches the apartment of the “victim”, which the futuristic man has confessed of killing, only to find out that the guy is still alive. Kevin Murray, a college student, claims he does not know the dead guy, but becomes afraid when he finds out that the dead guy says “he will die tomorrow”.

Dr. Hammerback discovers a chip on the vic’s arm, which the victim implanted on himself. Adam explores the chip and finds longitude and latitude numbers that led them to the apartment where a physics genius named Dr. Mark Browning (the victim) lived and conducted his time-travel research and experiments. Here Mac found an old coin with unidentified thumb prints.

Another interesting discovery was the #9 steel sewing needle found inside Dr. Browning’s brain, which may have been the reason for his genius mind.

Danny and Stella checks out the crime scene and interviews witnesses. According to most of the witnesses, the girl died after an orgasm in front of everyone in the diner.

Hammerback finds 27 sad-faces (using transparent markers) on the girl’s body. Although the cause of death was endorphin aneurism, Hammerback discovers an unidentified drug (of high doses) on her system. Stella discovers that the girl’s inhaler has been tampered and inserted with an experimental sexual drug that is still undergoing clinical testing. Stella and Danny checks out all students who are part of the drug study, but no one knows the victim.

In front of Dr. Browning’s apartment, Kevin Murray dies, just on time as Browning predicted before he died. Mac and Hawkes finds a new evidence – traces of blood on a book.

The prints from the book, coin and piece of glass led to a Leo Tyler, who became Browning’s assistant and believed his time-traveling when the doctor gave him lotto and horse race results. Because of greed, Tyler wanted Browning to get him another gambling result. But once the doctor declined his request, he smashes the doc’s head with a circular glass and kills Kevin Murray in hopes of fixing the time-machine for himself.

In the mean time, Stella and Danny discovers that one of the drug testers was a leader of a college sorority. Apparently, she knows the girl victim and was one of the girls who drew sad faces on her body in one of their ceremonies. As a way to for the vic to lose her virginity (one of the sorority’s requirements), the leader thought the experimental sexual drug could “losen her up” before losing her virginity. As it turns out, the vic’s existing meds and the experimental drug caused adverse reactions that caused her death.

Back at the lab, Mac receives a letter from Dr. Peyton telling him about a job she accepted in Italy. She says she won’t be coming back for work and it’s time to say goodbye.

Bionic Woman Episode 4

In Bionic Woman Episode 3, Sarah begged Jaime to help her because she’s sick and dying, and Jaime’s the only one who can help her.

Jaime’s running at top speed, which appears it’s about training or stopping some criminals, but it’s actually about stopping Becca from being with some guy. Or as she says, it’s about the fact that she lied about it. Not buying it. Not entirely anyway.

Jay busts Sarah. We’ll see how long she remains trapped.

Jonas shows Jaime a video of an American doctor, Mark Stevens, being held hostage in Paraguay. The government doesn’t care because it’s Paraguay, but this team is able to get involved.

Sarah tells Jonas she doesn’t want anything from him, including his help in getting better.

The small plane they’re on scares Jaime, who is afraid of flying to begin with, and being drunk and feeling guilty about lying to her sister about what she’s actually doing don’t seem to help.

Jaime uses her bionic strength to stop a propeller, allowing them access to the building. After breaking in, Antonio’s plan is simple: get caught. The terrorists tie them up and take them to the hostage, threatening to kill her if he doesn’t help. Antonio instructs Jaime to lose the fear and go bionic, and when the time is right, they take out the bad guys.

Jay says he wants Sarah back. She says she doesn’t trust Jonas but tells Jay she wants proof they’ve made advancements that could help her.

Antonio wants to kill Stevens because of the knowledge he has (blueprints for bionics, which he was kidnapped to decode). Jaime refuses. She gets shot and falls while running away but manages to escape with him.

Meanwhile, back at home, Jaime’s friend shows up, the friend who Jaime told Becca she was going away with. The fact that she’s lying is getting more and more obvious.

While Stevens is working on getting the bullet out of her, Jaime continues to obsess about lies. As they keep talking, he says he wouldn’t have told about her because of what the terrorists could have done with that information. Then he breaks the bad news to her. The drive talked about a 5 year projection, where the bionics cease to function. Meaning she’s going to die. She tells him it’s good (huh?) to hear the truth for once.

Jay returns to Sarah without a fix. As I was wondering how the heck she could actually be held like she was, she breaks free and escapes.

Antonio finds Jaime and again wants to kill Stevens. She again refuses and says he’ll have to go through her first. He’s more than willing to oblige, and they fight each other. Eventually, she wins the fight.

Jaime goes to Jonas to cry about him not telling her that she’s going to die, and he says 5 years is a lifetime in technology. He tells her he’ll find a way to fix it.

When she gets home, Becca says she deserves to know, but it doesn’t make a difference. She’s probably going to have to tell her at some point, but that point is not tonight.

Heroes Season 2 Episode 4

In Heroes Season 2 episode 3, Peter didn’t want to find out his true identity, Micah went to live in New Orleans, Sylar returned powerless, Kensei became a hero, Claire and West got closer, and Noah got the message that he’s going to die.

Claire’s dad is afraid she’s met a boy. He’s right, but of course she’s not going to tell him that.

Molly continues to have nightmares.

Alejandro and Maya get a ride and come upon a man lying in the middle of the road. When they turn him over, we’re greeted with Sylar.

Micah has gone to live with Nana (Nichelle Nichols) and new hero Monica (Dana Davis).

Angela Petrelli confesses to the murder of Hiro’s father Kaito. She begs Parkman to just let it go, since if he lets them dig, it could lead to the heroes being found out.

Claire tells West she can’t see him any more. I was gonna give this plan a few days, but West gets her to agree to see him later that night.

A finally clean-shaven (but not straightened out) Nathan comes to the hospital to visit his mother and confronts her about confessing. She tells him to backup her story as well.

Sylar tells Maya and Alejandro he was robbed and his name is Gabriel. Maya tells him they’re on their way to see Dr. Suresh, and he says he knows him. She believes it’s a miracle.

Monica takes a management test and gets her hopes up. Her boss tells her she’s not qualified because she’d need to be ready to work anywhere in the state. He says being tied to her home prevents that. She’s afraid she’s being punished for being selfish by always praying for a way out rather than praying for the community.

Claire lies to go see West. Of course, nobody believes this lie, and her father follows her. West flies her away before she can get caught, though. Her request on where to go, when he offers to take her anywhere, is to sit on the Hollywood sign. When they get there, she says she’s afraid, but he says he can help her because he feels the same way. She jumps off the sign as a literal leap of faith, and he catches her, whether she can heal herself or not. It’s pretty obvious this isn’t ending any time soon.

Nathan shows Parkman a picture containing all the people who are being picked off one by one. Parkman’s father happens to be one of the people in the photo.

Back at Micah’s new home, he rigs the TV to get a pay-per-view wrestling match to help out his cousin. So much for laying low with his powers.

Parkman asks Molly to help him locate his father. When she sees the picture, she freaks out because his father’s the man in her nightmares.

When he stops at a newsstand, the driver of the car finds out Maya and Alejandro are killers. He tells his new buddy “Gabriel” what he’s found out and says they need to ditch them. Sylar gets in the car and warns them the cops are being called. Maya gets upset and starts to use her power, which allows Sylar to figure out they both have power. Then he steals the car and takes off, leaving the driver, who’s dead thanks to a brick being bashed in his head, behind.

When she gets home, Claire takes West’s advice and tells her father she’s doing something else she hates instead of being with a boy. She says she tried out for cheerleading and made the squad. Then the Haitian shows up and tells him they have go to to Texas.

Monica’s closing the restaurant when a guy with a gun forces his way in. She uses a move she learned while watching wrestling on him. She still has no clue what’s going on or why she was able to do it, though.

Molly agrees to help find Parkman’s father. While she’s helping, she gets caught and then collapses. Parkman hears her thoughts: screaming for help.

Pamela Reed’s Jericho Contract Not Renewed

SyFy Portal is reporting that Pamela Reed, who plays the mom, Mrs. Gail Green, on Jericho has not been offered a contract for additional Jericho episodes beyond the current ones. She will be in at least one season 2 episode, but after that, she will be following in the footsteps of Johnston Green, who died in the last episode of season 1.

“The average age of actors on that show is under 40, and those of us over 40 are gone,” the 58-year-old actress said.
