I noticed there was some interest in watching Private Practice online, so I figured I’d simplify things for those of you who want to watch it and just provide a direct link.

It’s unclear whether ABC will offer this directly on their own website or not, but as part of a recent deal between ABC and AOL, this show can be watched online for free at AOL TV.

Episodes will be available on the Internet one day after they air on television and will be presented with limited commercial interruption.

Watch Free TV Online

Posted by Shane on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 12:58 am

Three of the major networks have announced an enhanced web presence of their television content on the Internet in recent days.

NBC will offer NBC Direct beginning in October. It will allow users to download shows, which it says will offer higher quality and more reliability than streaming videos currently do. The first shows to use this service will be Heroes, The Office, Life, Bionic Woman, 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights, Late Night, and The Tonight Show.

This announcement follows on the heels of NBC and Fox’s Hulu, scheduled for launch later this year, which will offer video content to AOL, MSN, Myspace, and Yahoo.

ABC announced a deal with AOL TV to offer its shows online one day after they air on TV. Users will be given the option of either streaming the videos or downloading them. Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, Pushing Daisies, Cavemen, Big Shots, Carpoolers, Dirty Sexy Money, and Private Practice are among the shows included. NBC, CBS and Fox also have deals with AOL.

Lastly, and least excitingly, Fox has announced a deal with iTunes to allow users to download four season premieres for free: Prison Break Season 3, K-Ville, American Dad, and Bones.

Watch Pilot Episodes of NBC Shows Online Free

Posted by Shane on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 5:58 pm

Amazon today announced a deal with NBC that will let visitors watch pilot episodes of NBC’s new fall shows Bionic Woman, Chuck, Journeyman, and Life online for free beginning September 10th, before they premiere on TV. The shows will be available on Amazon Unbox.

These shows join Heroes, The Office, and 30 Rock as part of Amazon’s offering. New episodes will be available the day after they air on TV.

“With the addition of NBC Universal TV content to Amazon Unbox, fans now have the ultimate convenience for enjoying their favorite shows whenever or wherever they want,” said Jean-Briac Perrette, President, NBC Universal Digital Distribution. “This further expands our longstanding relationship to bring a robust content offering to the marketplace in a variety of ways that will benefit the consumer and, at the same time, protects our content.”

Perhaps not so coincidentally, this deal comes just days after iTunes announced they would be pulling NBC content from their store.

Watch Heroes Online, Anywhere

Looking back at previous posts like Watch NBC’s Heroes Online, For Free! and Watch Heroes Online: The Where and How, I noticed a number of similarities. It became blazingly apparent that people outside of the U.S., myself in Canada included, were getting the shaft from the lovely people at NBC. For whatever reason, NBC promoted the hell out of the fact that you could watch their television shows online, for free and in full, but failed to mention that you have to be located in the U.S. to be granted such a privilege, which strikes me as rather stupid since NBC’s hit TV shows like Heroes air all over the world. As such, a number of the dingoRUE readers made comments in search of online sites where one living outside the Unites States can watch Heroes online, for free, and in full.

Well, after a ton of digging, a whole lot of searching and even more mashing of the keyboard (okay, my friend and co-worker actually told me about the site), I was able to track down one of the best online TV sites I’ve ever seen. Not only can you watch NBC Heroes, you can watch full, free episodes of: 24, CSI, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, House, Lost, Nip/Tuck, The Office, Prison Break, The Riches, Scrubs and countless other incredibly popular TV shows. Best of all, from what I can tell (at least), people from all over the world can access, watch and enjoy every TV show the site has to offer!

Television fans of the world unite and rejoice in the awesomeness that is SurfTheChannel! Check the site out and you’ll never miss an episode of your favorite television series again. Enjoy!

Watch Heroes Online: The Where and How

I don’t know about you, but I’m seriously starting to get the shakes from being without my weekly NBC Heroes fix and it is really starting to get to me, not to mention all the awkward situations the shakes create. I can’t fill a cup of coffee without shaking half of it on to the floor, it’s damn near impossible to sleep and don’t even get me started with the typing, it took me an hour just to write this much. Needless to say, life without Heroes is rough and desperate times call for desperate measures. So what does the resourceful tech geek slash Heroes superfan do? He scowers the depths of the never ending interweb in search of any possible way to watch heroes online.

Now everyone knows that you can watch full episodes of Heroes on NBC in the USA and on Global TV in Canada, but that’s only good for full episodes that have already aired. What about trailers and spoilers for episode 19 “0.7%”, or backstage scenes and cast interviews, or talk show and conference appearances, or any of the myriad other videos any true Heroes fan wants to see? It was these questions that sent me on my journey through the series of tubes that is the Internet and here are the best sites I found to watch heroes online:

  • YouTube never fails to turn out at least a few good videos.
  • DailyMotion is a similar video sharing site, only they’re a lot looser with the rules, so you can always find some good Heroes videos there.
  • TV.com has some great behind the scenes and interview videos that you can’t find anywhere else.
  • The guys over at SuperHiro.org, a popular Heroes forum, have some great clips.
  • Even though the site is fairly new, MeeVee.com not only has every full episode, but a fantastic selection of other clips and pictures too.

Don’t forget, Heroes returns to air on April 23rd with episode 19 “0.7%”, the first of the final five episodes in volume 1!
