November 15th, 2006 – Ha! Try as they might, NBC could not keep me from missing this weeks episode of the Biggest Loser! They even went so far as to schedule it 1-hour early at 8:00pm to try and throw me off again, but not this time, oh no no no, not this time! Of course it helps that I saw last weeks episode and noticed the time change, but that’s beside the point. Anyway, enough of this sham of a conspiracy and on to the gooey-nougaty-caramel filled episode 9 recap!

Survivor Cook Islands: Ozzy in the Buff!

By this time, every and any avid Survivor Cook Islands fan knows that this isn’t the first time Ozzy has been in the spotlight on TV, or on a reality TV show, for that matter.

The Survivor superstar was featured on Playboy’s Foursome, a reality TV show dubbed “the only TV dating program that shows everything”. There’s been a lot of talk over exactly what kind of part Ozzy played in Playboy’s Foursome, but now it’s all been laid out before us, literally.

Survivor Cook Islands: Brad and J.P. Dating?

The last episode of CBS’ Survivor: Cook Islands, which I unfortunately missed, saw Brad Virata, the open and proudly gay fashion designer from the Asian tribe, voted off the island.

Since Brad’s elimination he’s made the rounds through the media and has stirred up a few interesting rumors. Apparently he may be dating, or have dated a fellow Survivor: Cook Islands contestant. Whether there is any truth in the rumor or not is unknown, but it sounds like Brad and Mr. Manly, J.P., may have hooked up at some point.

During an interview with AfterElton.com, Brad was asked a pointed question about his relationship with J.P., to which he replied, â€œUm, itâ€™s all about timing in life. I canâ€™t answer that. JP is a great guy. Youâ€™ll have to wait for the finale.” He obviously side stepped the question all together and is either not wanting to talk about it, or is simply trying to pump up the Survivor: Cook Islands finale even more. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

In other Brad Virata news, he is also apparently pissed that the fact that he’s gay didn’t earn him more screen time or more story time. The fact that Brad is gay was obvious from the beginning, and he never tried to hide the fact, but I guess he wasn’t satisfied with how little they addressed the situation.

America’s Got Talent Winner Bianca Ryan Releases Album

Anyone that has been reading dingoRUE for a while likely knows just how I felt about Bianca Ryan winning America’s Got Talent, though my thoughts on the 12-year-old vocalist were widely unshared. Ryan has since been picked up by Columbia/SYCO Records and is now releasing her debut album today – November 14th.

In an effort to pump up album sales and to get her name back into the media again, Ryan will be making a number of TV appearances.

Survivor Cook Islands: The Non-Recap

Unfortunately I will be slacking off again tonight and won’t be watching Survivor Cook Islands. The Circle Craft Fair opens in Vancouver tonight and tonight is the only night my wife and I will be able to go, so we’ll be getting crafty while Survivor is on.

If you’ve never heard of the Circle Craft Fair, and you live in Vancouver, I highly recommend checking it out. Even if you don’t like crafts, it is a fantastic event. Artists, Crafters and Foodies of all forms pack into the Convention Centre, to the tune of about 250+ booths, to sell their hand-crafted awesomeness for only four days every year.

It’s a little pricier then you average craft fair, but it has so much more to offer, and it’s still not that bad, especially since they have some pretty sweet coupons.

Global TV Reporter Shot With Taser Gun

Thanks to the guys over at Gawker.com for digging up this wonderful piece of footage.

For whatever reason, Edmonton Global TV News Reporter Olivia Cheng decided demoing the effects of being shot with a taser gun would make for a great segment. Unfortunately, she was right, but only because she steps up and takes the hit herself.

Cheng volunteered to take a hit from the taser gun, though elected only to take a 1/2 sec burst, as opposed to the usual 5 sec burst, and considering she can’t weigh more than 120lbs, the 1/2 sec shot was plenty.

I don’t know what it is, but there is just something gratifying about watching a reporter get nailed with a taser gun, even if it is only for a 1/2 sec.

Biggest Loser Recap and Info: Two New Contestants

The Biggest Loser: Season 3 – Episode 8 Recap

November 8th, 2006 – As a result of some confusion, I ended up watching America’s Next Top Model and missing half of tonight’s episode of the Biggest Loser. I swear I do not remember them mentioning that tonight’s episode would be a 2-hour episode. So, since I missed the first half of the show, I can only recap the last half – but everyone knows that’s when all the important stuff happens anyways. Amazing Race 10 Winners: Team Kentucky

Though Team Kentucky, consisting of Dave and Mary Conley, aren’t your typical Amazing Race winners, especially since they didn’t actually win the competition, they’ve won big for just being on the show.

Rosie O’Donnell and the girls at The View were such big fans of the Kentucky team and how they played the game, that they showered them with a multitude of equally awesome prizes. For being such a respectful, friendly and just generally awesome team, The View awarded Dave and Mary Conley with:

$1,000 Carhartt gift certificate (for Dave to get some mining clothes)
MacBook computer
Canon Digital Rebel digital camera
3 separate, 1 week vacations to San Diego, Disneyland and the Grand Canyon for their kids
Cruise (for them, The Cho Brothers AND Team Alabama)
Eddie Bauer edition Ford Explorer
and, last but not least, a brand new 3-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath, 1,800 square foot house on their land back home in Kentucky (on the condition that they give their trailer home to a family in need)

How awesome of a prize list is that? They may not have scored the Amazing Race top prize of $1-million that is awarded to the winning team, but they sure cleaned up.
