NBC Heroes episode 17 Recap: “Company Man”

February 25th, 2007 - Oh. My. God. Wow! I know I have said this a number of times in the past, and I can almost guarantee that I will say it again in the future, but that was by far the absolute best episode of the series to date. I knew episode 17 of NBC’s hit TV show Heroes was going to be good, but I had no idea it was going to be that good. Tonight’s episode offered insight into so many things, I’m still trying to figure out how everything connects. I really am overwhelmed at the sheer magnitude of information that was revealed in episode 17, it was fantastic.

From what I can tell, Heroes episode 17 was only aired on Canada and/or on Global TV, so anyone that isn’t in Canada and/or doesn’t have Global TV won’t get to see the amazing episode until the usual time, tomorrow night. Having that kind of a jump on everyone else is awesome, especially when the episode was so damn good.

Hiro and Hiro’s father make an appearance and are tied into the HRG and Claire storyline; Claude shows up and we find out what role he played in HRG’s past; Matt changes his mind and his alliance; Ted runs into troubles; Claire reveals all and so, so much more happens in episode 17 of NBC Heroes.

Find out what happened in Heroes episode 17 “Company Man”, after the jump!

Heroes Episode 17 “Company Man” Spoilers

Posted by soultrance on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 1:37 pm

It has been a busy week for the cast of NBC’s hit TV show Heroes and things are only going to get busier from now on. Episode 16 ended with a bang, literally, as Simone, played by Tawny Cypress, was shot (and from what we can tell) killed by still obsessed lover boy Isaac; Peter has really started to learn how to control his powers; Claude got pissed and took off; Hiro managed to use his powers to save himself and later ditched Ando and, most importantly, Ted Sprague, Matt and new Heroes cast member Hana managed to corner HRG and family. How exciting!

The Heroes cast also made an appearance at a GM fashion/car show over the last week. Check out the pictures over at PinkIsTheNewBlog.

The excitement of episode 16 has been and gone, but Heroes episode 17 “Company Man” is already building up to be a stellar episode.

Biggest Loser Drops Caroline Rhea, Picks Up Soap Star Alison Sweeney

It’s official, NBC has decided to trim the fat (pun intended) and has dropped Caroline Rhea as host of the Biggest Loser 4. NBC has dropped Biggest Loser seasons 1, 2 and 3 host Caroline Rhea is favor of a new, shinier, sportier model, complete with new host scent, Alison Sweeney.

NBC gave the usual line, saying that she is leaving to “pursue other interests”, which in the TV world translates to, “we fired her ass.” While the executive producer of the show, Ben Silverman, took a bit more of a direct and honest approach and said Alison Sweeney “will bring not only a great fresh face but (also) a huge, loyal fan base” to the show. Apparently people still watch soap opera’s and actually give a damn about the “actors”? That’s news to me.

I’m personally a fan of Caroline Rhea as the host of the Biggest Loser, that’s not saying I’m a fan of hers in any other context, since I’m not, but I think she was a good fit for the show. However, after the debacle that was the Biggest Loser 3 season finale, I can understand why NBC decided it was time for her to “pursue other interests.”

Alison Sweeney, the new host of the Biggest Loser 4, comes to us straight from the gutter of the TV world, also known as soap operas. Not only does she come from the single worst genre in the history of TV, she comes from the absolute worst soap opera of all time, Days of our Lives. Though she apparently knows exactly what it’s like to be fat, since she wrote a book about her experiences as a big girl after ballooning up to a massive size 12! Yeah, that’s right, a size 12… I got news for you folks, only in TV land is size 12 considered massive. One of Caroline Rhea’s butt cheeks is bigger than that for Christs sake.

The Biggest Loser has always been one of my favorite reality TV shows and it is one of the few that is truley inspirational and motivational for people, so I really hope they don’t screw things up by letting some soap opera star host it. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Production for the Biggest Loser 4 is set to begin sometime this spring.

NBC Heroes Episode 16 Recap: “Unexpected”

February 19th, 2007 - Wow, what can I say, tonight’s episode of Heroes was fantastic. So much happened I’m actually still kind of overwhelmed from it all. The way the writers for this show can pack some much into the final five minutes of a show to completely hook you into watch next weeks episode really is amazing. If every show could do what the writers for Heroes do, there would be a hell of a lot more TV shows worth watching.

Tonight’s episodes kicked off like we saw in one of the many preview videos in the Heroes Episode 16 Preview post, as Hana, a new addition to the Heroes cast, pays Ted Sprague a wireless visit. Hana sneaks up on Ted in his shack in the middle of the Nevada desert, and communicates with him wireless through an instant messenger on his computer. Hana sends him the schematics for some kind of injection gun and, after a few messages, Ted swings around in his chair to see Hana face to face. Hana tells him that she knows where the two marks on his neck came from and the two settle in for a nice long chat.

Heroes Episode 16 “Unexpected” Preview

Posted by soultrance on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 2:41 pm

What can I say, I love this show! I still think NBCs Heroes is the best TV show on the air right now and it’ll take something pretty damn fantastic to make me think otherwise.Heroes episode 15 was definitely a gooder, but tonight promises to be even better, as episode 16 should finally uncover who flies and who dies! NBC has been promising the death of a Heroes cast member for weeks now and it sounds like tonight we’re finally going to find out who gets the axe!

**Warning: Spoilers to follow!

Here is just a brief look into some of the things we can expect to see in Heroes episode 16 “Unexpected” on NBC:

  • According to Adrian Pasdar [Nathan Petrelli] we can expect to catch him and Jessica/Nikki in the sack, again. Although things will be a bit different this time around.
  • The legendary comic book god Stan Lee guest stars as a bus driver who’ll chat it up with Hiro.
  • Rusty Schwimmer joins the cast, though most likely very breifly, as yet another new Heroes character with super hearing. Although we already know Mohinder and Sylar pay her a visit, so chances are she won’t be around for very long.
  • Hope, played by Missy Peregrym, will also make her Heroes debut.
  • Peter will find out that someone is out to betray him and Claude (my guess is it’s Nathan).
  • Matt will make two new friends in returning Heroes cast member Ted Sprague [Matthew John Armstrong], who possesses some kind of nuclear powers and Hana Gitelman [Stana Katic], who we’ve been expecting to sometime now and know possess the power to communicate via wireless signals!
  • Hiro will have to make a potential story line altering decision as blood gets spilt.
  • Claire and HRG are going to get into it again, and who knows what will happen this time.
  • According to BuddyTV, none of our fearless Heroes are going to kick the bucket until March 5th, though how much fact is in that we don’t know just yet.

dingoRUE Status Update

Posted by soultrance on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at 11:45 pm

I know, I know, its been a few days since I last updated. Trust me, its not like I haven’t thought about updating, it’s just been a very busy last few days. The 14th was of course, Valentines day, the 15th was my birthday, the 16th was my surprise birthday party and tonight it was my wife and I’s very first anniversary. And when I wasn’t out and about with my wife, at work, or celebrating, I spent my free time fighting with my brand new laptop. I treated myself to a new blogging tool and man has setting this thing up to run a wireless network been a giant pain in the butt. You’d think the folks at Microsoft would make it easier for an XP machine to see a Vista machine and vice versa, but apparently no one considered that. I’ve got the laptop seeing my desktop and connecting to wireless internet, but the XP box still can’t see my Vista laptop, so there are still a few bugs to work out, but I’ve got the basics in place.

Anyhow, enough about what I’ve been doing, lets get to what I’m going to do. Tonight I’ll be posting the Apprentice LA episode 6 recap and tomorrow I hope to post the Survivor Fiji episode 1 and 2 recaps and a Heroes episode 16 preview post, so keep your eyes peeled!

NBC Heroes Recap: Episode 15 - “Run”

NBC Heroes Episode 15: “Run” Recap

February 12th, 2007 - This show never ceases to amaze me and tonight’s episode, like nearly every other, was fantastic! As was already revealed in my episode 15 preview, we knew we could expect to see at least one new Heroes character joining the cast tonight, but I had no clue we would be getting up close and personal with two brand new Heroes characters. Not that we have to worry about getting to know them both too much, as one of them isn’t fortunate enough to make it through tonight’s episode alive.

Clearly the writers behind Heroes wanted to make this episode something special. Not only were we introduced to two new Heroes, two Heroes face off, with very interesting results, we learn some very interesting things about Meredith’s less than stellar personality and get a glimpse into Jessica’s mind. It was one hell of an episode!
