So You Think You Can Dance Season 8 Episode 17

Following the reveal of the top 10, tonight 2 more people will be sent home.

Mitchell is in the bottom four. Melanie and Tadd are safe.

Marko is safe. Sasha is also safe as Clarice joins the bottom four.

Jess is safe. Ricky returns to the bottom, as apparently it wasn’t Ryan weighing him down.

Jordan is the last person in the bottom four, and Caitlin is safe.

Mitchell, Clarice, Ricky, and Jordan will now dance for their lives.

The judges have made their unanimous decisions. Nigel gives a lengthy speech about how he has nothing constructive to say. Mitchell and Clarice have been eliminated.

America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 16

The second set of 12 acts performed in America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 15. Tonight 4 more will go through based on America’s votes.

The Rhinestone Ropers, Thomas John, and Silhouettes go first. Two acts that just did awful compared to one that really shined once again. Needless to say, Silhouettes advances.

Steven Retchless, Attack Dance Crew, and Geechy Guy go first. This result is obvious, albeit perhaps less obvious. Howie says the dance crew is out, but Piers thinks they’re the most talented. Ultimately, it’s clear that the best talent is Steven, who is going to the next round.

Daniel Joseph Baker, Dani Shay, and Dylan Andre are up. One singer shall survive. Tough to call. Dani clearly blew it, but I can see arguments for the other two. Daniel is in the semifinals.

Smage Bros. Riding Shows, Mona Lisa, and Landon Swank are going for the judges’ votes. Mona Lisa’s out, but the other two both have a shot, though Landon’s got a bit of an uphill battle without Sharon’s support. The end of another singing act will put it the judges to vote for another variety act to get through. Sharon votes for the Smage Bros. Piers votes for Landon. With the deciding vote, Howie votes for the Smage Bros. I’d rather see the magic act.

Big Brother 13 Episode 6

Adam & Dominic were nominated in Big Brother 13 Episode 5. Adam trusts he’s not the target. Jordan says they have to work with him, for right now, though she does not trust him. Dominic feels he is the target, and his partner is a traitor. Meanwhile, Rachel is angry that the prettiest girl in the house has not been nominated. Don’t worry. She has no intention of messing with your man.

Jordan instructs Adam to throw the veto. Contrary to Jordan’s plan, Daniele and Rachel want Dominic to win veto.

In response to her reaction to Cassi, Jordan calls Rachel almost ridiculous. The risk here is that they help Cassi bond with Jeff and Jordan.

Joining Jeff, Jordan, Adam, and Dominic in the veto competition, Brendon and Rachel are selected at random. Rachel suggests winning the competition and changing the nominations. They want to make a deal with Dominic and then all of them partner with Daniele. This is a worse alliance than the last worse alliance. Oh, but they’re not turning on Jeff and Jordan. Rather, they are not making good decisions. The lone voice of reason is Brendon, who doesn’t to do this behind their backs, but he does not protest much.

This is a singles veto competition, so Adam won’t be able to drag down his partner. The challenge is to chew gumballs, cross the balance beam, and fill in a veto portrait. Jordan’s looking forward to this. She walks and chews gum all the time. If you fall, you’re out, unless you’re willing to accept two weeks of slop, though a second fall will eliminate you anyway. Adam doesn’t even have to try to throw the competition because his balance sucks. Go ahead and try your hardest, dude. Jordan is the first to fall. She offers to take two weeks of slop, but Jeff talks some sense into her because neither of the girls is going to win this. This leads to more whining from Rachel, as vocally as possible (as if there’s an alternative from her). Rachel falls, but she takes the two weeks of slop. She very quickly falls again after that. That was stupid. Hope you proved the point you were trying to make. Jeff and Brendon give him a run for his money, but Dominic ends up winning the veto.

After the competition, Jeff picks a fight with Rachel due to the comments she made during the challenge. Brendon’s behind her 100%, aside from the fact that he doesn’t understand why she made a comment that they shouldn’t even try if the HOH isn’t going to try. Rachel hides in the bushes and cries. She decides she doesn’t work with them any more (you were working with them in the first place?), but Brendon doesn’t want to get nominated.

Adam’s just as happy as Dominic because he’s safe, too, all without breaking his word.

Rachel suggests that she could be a bitch and tell them that they let Jordan win HOH, but Brendon has her instead make a fake apology that nobody buys.

Jordan realizes a simple fact. If Brendon and Rachel had the option, they would ignore her and nominate whoever they wanted.

As much as he wants to be in this new alliance, Dominic doesn’t want to break ties with his old alliance either.

Dominic uses the veto to save himself and Adam as expected. In his place, Cassi and Shelly have been nominated.

America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 15

Snap Boogie, Sandou Trio Russian Bar, Anna Graceman, and Miami All Stars were the first group to join the semifinals in America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 14. Tonight 12 more acts compete for America’s votes: Attack Dance Crew, Dani Shay, Geechy Guy, Daniel Joseph Baker, The Rhinestone Ropers, Dylan Andre, Landon Swank, Smage Bros. Riding Shows, Thomas John, Steven Retchless, Mona Lisa, and Silhouettes.

Attack Dance Crew are a group of dancers that Howie doesn’t get. Piers likes the look and some of the movements, but he wasn’t too keen on that. Sharon agrees. They don’t stand out. Howie still doesn’t get it. They’re like cheerleaders, only not good at that either.

Dani Shay is the female Justin Bieber who forgot the words to her own song in Vegas. Without the Bieber bit, which was classic, I just don’t get it. Sharon calls that amazing and pure. Howie again doesn’t like her song choice. Piers thought it was a good performance, but there were some off notes, again going back to song choice.

Geechy Guy is the comedian who’s the third one over on the evolution chart. Piers hates him and his one liners. He’s escorted on stage by two woopie cushions. He’d give his right arm to be ambidextrous, and he thinks the place is haunted because he got booed last night. It’s not long before Piers buzzes him. Howie doesn’t know if that was enough, but he thinks he’s a very good comic.

Daniel Joseph Baker is a diva and proud of it. For someone who only sings in his living room, he’s quite the performer. Piers sees the fire in his belly, although the singing wasn’t perfect. Sharon adores the fierceness.

The Rhinestone Ropers add a horse to the mix. Piers buzzes. Evidentally, he’s thinking the same thing I am. If this horse trick show were their first performance, they wouldn’t have made it past the auditions. Sharon thought of that as a kids’ birthday party. Lucky Joe, not so lucky.

Dylan Andre’s mom was offered a singing contract when she was young, but her father didn’t let her sign. He hopes to pick up where she left off. Howie thought that was good, but he can tell he’s only been doing this for a year. Piers wouldn’t buy that album, although he could listen to it in a bar.

Landon Swank used his rehearsal day to fix his broken props. He starts off by having Nick sign the front and back of the double mirrored prop. Then he steps through it, followed by a reveal that it’s still intact. Piers is impressed that these things he does may be simple but are tough to figure out. Sharon is confused. Howie wants more presentation.

Smage Bros. Riding Shows had a difficult rehearsal, but I suspect they will pull off their motorcycle tricks on the live show, without killing the one guy (not a brother) who basically serves as a prop. Sharon was excited by that. Piers just got woke up.

Thomas John started juggling to meet women. That’s not working out too well yet. He drops one of his batons, which is an instant buzz from Piers. After seeing him drop them again at the end, Sharon follows suit. Howie was at least entertained.

Steven Retchless is a pole dancer, which is both different and more entertaining than it may at first seem. Piers buzzes, but Sharon gives him a standing ovation. After getting booed by Sharon, Piers explains that there’s a reason there are no male pole dancers. I’m not sure what that reason is, however, as Piers is again interrupted by Howie.

Mona Lisa got kicked out of home at age 16 by their mom who viewed that as supporting their dream. Sharon thinks they have it all going on. Howie has nothing critical to say, but will it stand out? Piers felt it was safe but lacking.

The Sing Off? In the fall? Apparently NBC now plans to beat me over the head with singing.

Silhouettes came into tonight as the ones to beat. Their act for the evening, American Pride. Hard to go wrong with that. In it, they create shapes of famous American landmarks to the tune of God Bless America, resulting in a standing ovation from all. Should have saved that for the finals. Piers calls it genius and world class.

Big Brother 13 Episode 5

Following Keith’s eviction in Big Brother 13 Episode 4, Jordan won HOH.

Rachel thanks her lucky stars that the newbies are idiots.

Everybody pretends they were on the same side. Adam acknowledges that they approached him. When he says this, Dominic walks out of the room. They’re both ready to turn on each other.

Dominic’s new strategy is to flirt with Daniele. Good luck with that.

Adam continues to be honest, this time telling Jeff and Jordan he didn’t vote with them. If he’d just kept his mouth shut, it’s possible nobody would have known anything. Now neither side of the house can trust him.

Rachel hates Cassi and wants to get rid of her on that basis. Didn’t Rachel say she wasn’t going to play emotionally this year?

Jeff, Jordan, Daniele, and Porsche automatically get a pass for the have/have not competition. The others get dressed up in ant costumes with both partners in one outfit. Bring on the really bad not so hidden nor clever sexual references. The first duo to crawl across the backyard picnic four times will be able to choose the two who are have nots. Kalia and Lawon clearly have no prayer as usual. Cassi & Shelly likewise aren’t going to win this. Brendon & Rachel are leading from the beginning with their only threat being Adam & Dominic. Brendon & Rachel end up winning.

Before the decision, they need to rescue Kalia, who apparently got may or may not have gotten injured toward the end of the competition. The medic comes to check her out and wipe away the mostly fake tears.

Dominic & Adam and Cassi & Shelly are chosen to be have nots for the week, meaning that Kalia and Lawon are haves for the week. In addition to slop, the have nots get jelly beans and jerky.

Dominic makes a pitch to the veterans. He wants to team up with them because his back’s against the wall and he’s out of options. Well, that’s an appealing proposal.

Cassi tells Jeff & Jordan they’re not her targets. Brendon & Rachel are, though she’s not opposed to getting rid of the other new people either.

So now it comes down to a choice of two. The other two girls hate Cassi. Shocker. Jeff & Jordan would like to target Dominic, though.

Nominations
Jeff is automatically safe.
Daniele and Porsche are also automatically safe.
Rachel & Brendon are safe.
Shelly & Cassi are safe.
Kalia & Lawon are safe.
Adam & Dominic have been nominated for eviction.

Big Brother 13 Episode 4

How long can one of the “greatest players ever” last without America pulling the strings? In Big Brother 13 Episode 13, we got our answer with the departure of Evel Dick: a couple of nights. The situation on the block remained unchanged, and tonight either Porsche or Keith, both disasters at playing this game, will be going home.

The Regulators want Porsche gone, for good reason. She’s clearly not on their side and has never had any interest in being there.

The veterans have realized something. They need to stop hiding up in their room alone away from everybody else. Actual veterans would have realized that long before now.

Brendon & Rachel get into a stupid fight because she told people she calls him Bookie. His poutfest is the result of his insecurity in his masculinity. Is this really happening?

Shelly and Adam are the potential swing votes that they hope to sway. Shelly is told that they want to get rid of Cassi. Their strategy to get Adam: think of their nickname. Really? Kalia doesn’t seem to be on their radar, in spite of how much she hates Keith.

Votes
Dominic: Porsche
Brendon: Keith
Jordan: Keith
Cassi: Porsche
Lawon: Porsche
Jeff: Keith
Daniele: Keith
Adam: Porsche
Kalia: Keith
Shelly: Keith

By a vote of 6-4, Keith has been evicted from the Big Brother house. In spite of Porsche being more like a Kia, Keith’s big mouth got him in trouble. Congrats to Shelly and Kalia for giving away the numbers, but unbeknownst to them they’re on the bottom of either totem pole, so I don’t know that it really matters either way. For the time being, though, it puts them in a good spot. The other newbies will go after the veterans, while the veterans will go after the other newbies. Being in the middle has its advantages at this stage of the game, no matter how much Rachel hates floaters.

Rachel is not eligible to compete as outgoing HOH. Daniele and Porsche are also out because they have golden keys.

The HOH competition is mini golf. They have to get closest to the hole in 1 without landing in the water hazard. Dominic gets a 6. Adam gets an 8. Cassi goes in the water. Shelly also goes in the water. Lawon follows suit. Kalia ties Dominic. Jordan takes the lead with 3. Jeff and Brendon throw it to give Jordan the HOH.

So You Think You Can Dance Season 8 Episode 15

One more boy and one more girl will be sent home tonight, bringing us down to the top 10.

Clarice & Jess are safe. Caitlin & Mitchell are in the bottom three.

Melody from season 1, Allison from season 2, Pasha from season 3, Twitch, Comfort, and Chelsie from season 4, Brandon from season 5, Kathryn from season 6, and Robert from season 7 will be joining us next week as all stars.

Melanie & Marko are safe. Ryan & Ricky return to the bottom three again.

Jordan & Tadd are safe. Sasha & Alexander are the final couple in danger.

Caitlin, Mitchell, Ryan, Ricky, Sasha, and Alexander will now dance for their lives.

The judges are unanimous with the girls. Caitlin is starting to realize what dance for your life means. Ryan was lackluster last night and again tonight. She will be going home.

The decision for the guys was 3-1. Mitchell is between average and very good. Ricky had one of the best dances for his life. Alexander found himself last night, though his solo let him down tonight. He will be going home.

America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 14

The first 12 acts performed in America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 13. Tonight America’s votes will determine who advances to the next round.

The Fearless Flores Family, Snap Boogie, and Duo Aero are the first trio. Piers thinks Duo Aero should go, but he’s surprised by the other two both being there together. I’m not. It’s clear that Snap Boogie is safe.

In other news, Avril Lavigne is apparently still a singer.

Squonk Opera, Sandou Trio Russian Bar, and J Chris Newberg are next. Considering one of these acts is awesome and the other two suck, it comes as no surprise that Sandou Trio Russian Bar is safe.

Dezmond Meeks, Echo of Animal Gardens, and Anna Graceman are up next. Another slam dunk here with Anna Graceman advancing.

Miami All Stars, The Fiddleheads, and Those Funny Little People are the last group. The obvious result here is that Those Funny Little People are out. Beyond that, I didn’t have a clear favorite, though I’d like to see The Fiddleheads get a second shot. The judges will now decide between the other two groups. Sharon votes for Miami All Stars. Piers does as well. Miami All Stars is the fourth semifinalist.
