Kyle XY Season 2 Episode 15

Kyle and Jessi worked together to stop Ballantine in Kyle XY Season 2 Episode 14. While their efforts put Jessi out of the woods as far as being sought after by Madacorp, there was a new wrinkle at the end: a man introducing himself as her father came to see her in the hospital.

Kyle feels free now that he’s no longer hiding anything from his family. He might want to be more careful, though, as his newest trick of levitating with the assistance of water in front of Amanda’s mom won’t exactly win her over.

Nicole is concerned about Jessi’s well being with her newfound father Brian Taylor, a man who hasn’t proven to be particularly trustworthy in the past.

They go to the career fair at the school. Kyle doesn’t like that Madacorp has a booth there, but Lori tells him it’s okay and that they do every year. Hillary plans to be the queen of fabulous when she grows up, which actually doesn’t sound like a bad idea. Josh thinks this is all just a waste of time, but Kyle views it as an opportunity to find out what he can become.

Stephen goes to Madacorp to clean out his desk. Emily, who played right along with Ballantine’s game, apologizes and says his agenda was his own. She asks him to stay. He doesn’t trust her, with good reason, and happily declines.

Jessi’s back at school, and she says everything’s going well with her father, who claims he created her from Sarah’s genetics based on Adam’s experiments. The evil Jessi appears to be gone now, replaced with one who’s willing to keep her word. But the very curious Jessi still lurks. She insists on doing something to get away from the boring career fair, which leads her to jump off the roof… with a video camera nearby. Kyle believes she’s safe since he couldn’t make out a face in the video, though. Unfortunately, Jessi’s pretty happy with all the attention she’s getting from this. She doesn’t get why it’s a bad thing and thinks life is about getting noticed. She reluctantly promises Kyle no more tricks. This lasts all of a few minutes, as Hillary egging her on gets her to walk on water. This time it’s pretty clear who it is.

Hillary’s hoping to get some drooling guys to help her out. She offers them first base, no tongue, in an effort to get them to help her find out how Jessi did her “stunt” and put the spotlight back on her.

Nicole goes to confront Taylor about what’s been happening, hoping to prevent a circus from coming to Kyle. She wants him to start acting like a dad.

Kyle’s just getting more confused with all the options available. A group of guys want him to become an engineer after he saved their firm some money. Josh wants him to become a doctor to cure cancer and save Andy. Emily’s there, too. Kyle isn’t interested, but Jessi’s eager to work with her. Kyle tries to talk some sense into her, but she doesn’t care what he has to say.

Josh and Kyle were watching a science documentary “hosted by one of those naked magazine rabbits” in which a rat was kept in a cage and had its every move monitored. Kyle fears that if his secret gets out, that will happen to him, though he did notice that the tests helped find answers.

Taylor comes to the house and admits he doesn’t know how to handle Jessi. As a gesture of faith, he brings the ring, which Kyle sold at the pawn shop. The ring around Kyle’s neck is actually from Ballantine’s father. He makes a case for why they should trust him, or at least not abandon Jessi.

Jessi seems to have learned her lesson. The kids are asking her for more tricks, but she’s refusing. Hillary, however, has not learned her lesson, and she taunts her. With enough pushing, Jessi finally agrees to jump off the roof again. Just in time, Kyle comes to stop her, telling her he’s jumping, too. That doesn’t work, so Lori and Josh volunteer as well. This works, but they back off when asked, except Kyle uses his newfound water-based powers to prevent her from actually falling off the roof.

Jessi didn’t want to jump either but was afraid she was losing approval. She doesn’t want to be what she was before: invisible. Kyle’s lesson for her is that the people with the most to offer usually believe in themselves the least, but that’s not the case with him because he has people who believe in him, who will believe in her as well if she lets them.

Josh has chosen a career. Following Kyle’s suggestion, he’s decided to become a doctor.

Jessi claims to have learned her lesson. That lasts about two seconds before she sneaks out her bedroom window and jumps off the roof.

Prison Break Season 3 Episode 10

After two months on hiatus, Prison Break Season 3 Episode 9 was the first of five new episodes. General Zavala managed to get Susan’s name out of Michael, along with a location of where she would be. She played along as if Zavala had the upper hand, just long enough to take the opportunity to kill him. Meanwhile, inside Sona, the struggle for power continued. Sammy managed to get ahold of a gun thanks to Sucre unintentionally assisting him, a pretty good advantage to have.

Lechero is afraid Scofield’s a hero now, since he survived the box, or so he says. As such, he refuses Sammy’s request to kill him.

Mahone gets a picture of his son in the mail.

Whistler informs Scofield T-Bag’s coming with them. Mahone wants in, too. Michael may as well just accept they’re all in this together whether they want to be or not. Now that last week’s drama’s done, it’s time to start digging again, at least that’s the plan. Michael says it’ll be two days.

Sammy pulls out his gun and lets Lechero know he’s done. Then he lets everybody else know he’s in charge. When nobody objects, he offers a case of rum for whoever brings him Michael.

Lincoln’s trying to find out what he can about Gary Miller.

T-Bag wants to take Sammy out. He doesn’t want to risk his own neck, but he’s got no problem risking Bellick, asking that he chicken foot Sammy and cheat again like he did last time.

Sofia doesn’t want to turn her back on Whistler, even if she doesn’t exactly trust him. She makes Lincoln give her his word that he’ll be okay.

Sucre goes to meet Susan and tells her Lincoln’s not playing any games. She tells him she believes him, then she gives him a cashier’s check for $25,000, with the other half payable later.

Whistler tells Scofield he was supposed to kill him but didn’t. So now apparently he’s supposed to be grateful.

Bellick approaches Sammy asking for the chicken foot. After he does this, though, he realizes he doesn’t have any acetone left, so it looks like the first plan’s out the window. He pretends he made a mistake and wasn’t actually talking about Sammy, but it doesn’t get him anywhere.

Lincoln and Sofia buy some explosives.

Mahone, Scofield, and Whistler use the distraction of the fight as an excuse to come out from digging. They’re quickly stopped by Sammy’s goons. Their location is no longer secret, but at least they’re able to get back into it, well, two of them anyway. Just as Sammy’s about to kill Bellick, they call for him. They threaten to kill Whistler if he doesn’t help them get through the door. Not at all intimidated, Whistler’s request to Michael is simply to not open the door.

Sucre doesn’t bother telling Lincoln the part about how he’s got cash in his pocket. Susan knows something’s up, and she tells Sucre she knows where he sent the money and that if he doesn’t cooperate, she’ll kill Maricruz.

Sammy and his boys get Lechero and go ask him for the combination. Then Michael opens the door. He offers Sammy a deal to go with them. Sammy agrees but not to the part of going with them. He wants their plans all to himself. Michael wants them to take Whistler with them. Obviously a setup. Sammy pokes his head in the tunnel, which comes crashing down around him. Then Lechero kills his goons with his gun.

Bellick wants in, too, and if not, he’ll blow their cover, so T-Bag accepts. McGrady wants to go with them as well, but Michael tells him he doesn’t want any part of it.

Sofia does some digging and finds a briefcase. As we’ve seen before, the show ends with us wondering what’s inside.

Directors Guild of America Reaches Deal

After just five days of negotiation, the Directors Guild of America has reached a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. Terms of the deal include:

• Increases both wages and residual bases for each year of the contract.
• Establishes DGA jurisdiction over programs produced for distribution on the Internet.
• Establishes new residuals formula for paid Internet downloads (electronic sell-through) that essentially doubles the rate currently paid by employers.
• Establishes residual rates for ad-supported streaming and use of clips on the Internet.

“Our industry’s creative talent will now participate financially in every emerging area of new media. The agreement demonstrates beyond any doubt that our industry’s producers are willing and able to work with the creators of entertainment content to establish fair and flexible rules for this fast-changing marketplace,” the studios said in a statement.

The WGA commented, “They have chosen to negotiate with the DGA instead. Now that those negotiations are completed, the AMPTP must return to the process of bargaining with the WGA. We hope that the DGA’s tentative agreement will be a step forward in our effort to negotiate an agreement that is in the best interests of all writers.”

Kyle XY Season 2 Episode 14

In season two, Kyle was introduced to someone just like him, more or less, Jessi XX. Unlike Kyle, she found it a lot harder to control her darker side, and in the climax of the first half of the season, she finally betrayed him, stealing the information in his head for Madacorp. At the conclusion, she jumped off a cliff, with a very rocky landing below. Talk about your cliffhangers.

Picking up where we left off, Tom Foss comes up behind Kyle. He’s got some explaining to do. Like why Adam Baylin’s still alive despite having been shot. Once they’re done discussing what’s happened, Foss wants Kyle to go back to his family… and tell them the truth.

As Foss asked, Kyle goes home and tells them everything. Josh was wrong about him being an alien. I was hoping he was an alien myself, but Josh thinks the truth is pretty cool. After that, he’s got one more person to talk to, but he wasn’t able to catch Amanda before she left. When he heads back home, he’s worried what they’ll think and apologizes for putting them in danger, but Nicole still accepts him as one of the family.

Kyle’s got a plan: let Madacorp put him in the C.I.R. chair to get the information (that Jessi stole, so he no longer has it) and then create an energy surge to take the place out. Steven says it won’t be that easy, though, since the chair is isolated from the mainframe, but he can physically link it.

Lori, meanwhile, is mostly just happy that she’s free, since Declan hiding Kyle’s secrets from her means that it wasn’t her fault.

The plan now is to crash the open house at Madacorp since there will be plenty of people around, meaning a lot of distraction. Andy’s back because Josh invited her to the open house a couple weeks back, and she quickly gets suspicious something’s up.

Kyle goes right up to Julian Ballantine and says, “I hear you’ve been looking for me.” He offers up the information in exchange for leaving the family alone.

Lori promises Josh that the next cute guy she sees is about to have a very memorable open house experience. So of course, the next person she sees is Declan. She’s already forgiven him for keeping the secret. Beyond that, she’s completely over them being together and wants to destroy their memories. In the middle of this destructive fun, they find some condoms. So much for being broken up.

As Stephen’s sneaking around, oops, busted. Emily sees him. He pretends it’s just business as usual. She threatens to call security. He says she doesn’t understand and that his family is in danger. Only she does understand all too well.

While Kyle and Ballantine are walking and talking, he brings him in a room and tells him he doesn’t have what he wants any more. Jessi’s in a room going crazy, trying to get the information out any way she can. Ballantine tells her she’s free to go with the men and get the information taken out of her. In exchange for her help, not only does she get rid of the information, which would take her 57 years to write, but she also gets memories of the life she always wanted.

Not free to go is Kyle, nor is Stephen, who’s brought in the room with him. Since Jessi’s under such stress, Kyle thinks he can connect with her, as her brainwaves are more pronounced with increased emotions. He sneaks into her new memories, which are of a life as a member of the Trager family. He warns her not to give them the information. New life’s not going so well any more, as she’s going crazy there, too. Kyle wants her to be a better person, by choosing to be a better person. He offers to take the pain away, which he does by taking the information back.

They come to get him and take him to the chair, but he’s warned to cooperate because if he doesn’t, the chair will fry his brain. Emily tells Jessi to get the hell out of there, trying to protect her. While fleeing from the security guards, she runs into the elevator, where she meets up with Nicole, who believes there’s something that Jessi can do to help Kyle. Despite the warning, Kyle fights against the chair. He’s on the verge of cardiac arrest, but Ballantine doesn’t care and just cranks up the power. Together, though, he and Jessi can do what he couldn’t do alone. As they’re creating a power surge, Stephen connects the system, bringing it down. Then Jessi passes out.

When she wakes up in the hospital with Kyle watching over her, it’s not just Madacorp that’s down. The whole city’s been dark for hours. She’s happy to have done something good for a change, and Nicole’s looking for a home for her.

The city traced the blackout back to Madacorp, and what’s worse for Ballantine is that he was acting on his own without Madacorp’s knowledge. Emily’s sticking around to replace him.

As he’s packing up to leave, Foss is confident that Kyle’s got his family now and can get by without him, though he’ll still be around (somewhere). And he tells him Adam will be okay. Some day. Kyle promises to work as hard as he can every day.

Since the citywide blackout struck just as Declan was about to derevirginize Lori, they decided not to do anything. I’m not real clear on the logic either. She’s comfortable being friends without benefits but promises to get back where things were if they’re not hooked up with someone else by prom.

When Kyle gets home, he’s got some good news. Amanda’s flight, which has been delayed for hours, has now been cancelled due to the blackout, so she’s waiting for him in his tub. They’re able to patch things up, and she promises to come back to him.

Brian shows up at the hospital, claiming to be Jessi’s father. He says he’s the one who took the picture at the diner and that the girl in the picture who looks like Jessi is named Sarah.

Kyle is comfortable in the fact that, whatever may lay ahead, he doesn’t have to face it alone.

Prison Break Season 3 Episode 9

It’s been two months since Prison Break Season 3 Episode 8, but now Prison Break’s back with all new episodes. Previously, Mahone went to court and tried to get a plea deal, but he was a wreck without his pills, so they sent him back to Sona. As he was headed back, we finished up the first half of the season with Michael Scofield being escorted out of the prison, after he prevented the Company from breaking out Whistler on their own.

General Zavala brings Scofield into his office. Scofield says he had nothing to do with what happened, which is true for a change. He doesn’t give any answers as to who actually was responsible. They put him in a box to see if they can sweat the answers out.

Sofia and Lincoln are chatting, and up pulls Susan, to grab Link and tell Sofia to get lost. Susan wants to keep Lincoln motivated. She takes him to LJ and gives them one minute to speak to each other, a brief exchange about how “that bitch is crazy” and the next time they meet, he’ll get him out of this.

Mahone’s back. He says that, all things considered, he probably does deserve to be in there. He doesn’t get any drugs, but Lang does give him her father’s good luck charm.

Out in the yard, Bellick and T-Bag see someone vomit. Bellick’s ordered to clean it up. This doesn’t sit well with him, so he shoves the guy. This won’t end well.

Having accepted money for sneaking something into the prison before, Sucre’s stuck doing it again, this time for no money. When he gets there, Michael asks him to just go and not come back.

Lechero and Whistler are trying to break out on their own. It’s not long before they realize this is stupid and pointless.

Scofield tries to convince Zavala he can’t stop them. Zavala tells the story about how he captured Lechero, someone everybody else thought they couldn’t stop. That’s enough to convince him to talk. He spills the beans, but Zavala’s not buying the truth again.

After Zavala’s done some research, he finds that there’s some truth to the story. He believes the other inmate should be able to corroborate it and demands a name. In return, Michael wants him to locate LJ.

Sofia goes to the prison to confront Whistler about what she saw at the apartment. He claims that it was all his plan for them to be together. She doesn’t know how she can believe anything he says.

Of course, once Zavala brings Whistler back, he says nothing and plays dumb regardless of a claim that the story has been verified and all that’s needed is a name of who’s in charge. With some convincing, he claims that he’s working with Scofield… and only Scofield. They’re both brought into the room to discuss it together, and finally he does give up a name.

T-Bag’s strategy this time is to get Mahone to kill Sammy. In return, he’ll cover his drugs.

Sucre’s had an argument with Lincoln, asking for money to continue helping him. Having overheard this, Susan takes advantage. She offers Sucre $50,000 to go back to him and pretend like nothing happened and to continue working with him for a few days.

Michael calls Lincoln to find out when his next meeting with Susan is. With that, he’s able to find out the location to send Zavala to.

Because of the puke incident, Bellick gets a chicken foot. He approaches Sammy to get some assistance. Of course, he gets nowhere. Lechero overhears this and isn’t happy.

Turns out Sucre and Lincoln’s fight was just staged. They were setting Susan up.

Mahone’s not interested in T-Bag’s offer.

Lincoln’s meeting with Susan, and as planned, the general comes and takes her away.

Susan plays dumb, too. They’re doing a good job of that tonight. So now it’s time to torture her as well. Unlike the men, though, she’s not going to be that easy. Despite the fact that she’s choking, she still won’t talk. Whistler and Scofield come in, and Whistler says yes she ordered the prison escape. She claims to be just the babysitter, that she watches the kid and knows nothing about a breakout. She offers to take them to him.

Michael wants to know if she killed Sara, and she says she doesn’t know what he’s talking about, to which he responds, “I’m coming for you.”

Bellick wins his chicken foot fight, even if he did cheat. T-Bag may have himself a new target.

Susan leads them to where LJ is, or at least where he was. When they get there, she kills Zavala and his guard. She calls for a ride, then her next call is to Lincoln.

It turns out the guy Sucre’s been sneaking packages in for is helping out Sammy. He wants Sammy to take control and thinks Lechero’s days are numbered.

Scofield and Whistler are taken back into the prison, since the general has been found dead. So now it’s back to the original plan: break out of prison.

Unsurprisingly, inside the cigar box is a gun. Now Sammy’s got a way to take power.
