Lost Season 6 Episode 18

Locke and Jack went together to the heart of the island in Lost Season 6 Episode 17, and they proceeded to lower Desmond toward the light.

Juliet, David, and Claire are at the benefit concert, where a passed out Charlie is awakened by Charlotte. Daniel also happens to be back stage, as he’s a piano player who coincidentally is accompanying Driveshaft at the show (really?). Yeah, Kate, Miles, Desmond, and Dr. Chang are there, too. It’s Claire who catches Charlie’s eye, and then the baby kicks.

Desmond reaches the light, and all hell breaks loose. You expected something else? Locke thinks Jack was wrong when the light starts to go out. Seeing as Jack is able to make Locke bleed now, perhaps he was wrong, too. The bad news for Jack is that Locke can make him bleed as well, knocking him upside the head with a rock.

For something that wasn’t such a big deal, Claire is not so much being kicked by her baby as she is going into labor. This all seems familiar to her and Kate, who have delivered this baby together before (or sideways or whatever the appropriate time reference is). Charlie, likewise, is led to flashbacks of them being together. Since they all remember, now what?

The rain’s going and trees start falling on people. Like Ben. Frank, Miles, and Richard, meanwhile, tell them they’d better get over there because they’re fixing the plane and leaving in an hour.

Jack’s back up and looking to go for round 2 with Locke, which will take place on a cliff that’s crumbling around them. This time, Jack gets stabbed, but the attempt to stab him in the neck fails when Kate shoots Locke. Good timing. Then Jack kicks him off the cliff. If he’s not dead, he probably should be.

Locke wakes up in the hospital telling Jack it worked. He can feel his legs. Unlikely or not he can regain sensation that quickly, he can even move them. Then he sees the island, and Jack starts to see something, too. He tells Jack he doesn’t have a son, although that’s who he’s going to go see.

Whatever Desmond turned off, Jack wants to turn it back on. He sends Kate off to get Claire on the plane. Though he can’t promise they’ll see each other again, they can still kiss and profess their love. Sawyer is off, too. Hurley and Ben join Jack, though.

In order to get to the boat so they can reach Frank and the plane he’s fixing, Sawyer suggests jumping of the cliff. Sounds good enough for Kate.

Sawyer, at the hospital to see Sun, runs into Jack. Then he meets Juliet, too. Why not? Now these two are having their own set of flash sidewayses as well, and they can get their own lip locking.

Jack goes to the concert when it’s over, and he bumps into Kate. Where does he remember her from? Perhaps if she touches this man who doesn’t know her, he’ll remember. Or think she’s crazy.

Jack plans to go into the darkness to protect the island, or commit suicide, whichever it may be. He leaves the protection of the island going forward in Hurley’s hands. Desmond put out the light thinking he would leave this place. So much for that theory. Jack wants him to go home now. He’ll see him in another life.

Kate talks Claire into going with them, but Frank doesn’t hear Sawyer’s request to wait. Just in time, they run in front of the plane to be let in. Way to wait until the last second. With the ground getting set to implode around them, it’s time for take off. In the nick of time, they’re up in the air.

Meanwhile, in the belly of the island, Jack has put the stone back in place to allow the light to start glowing again. Seeing that, Hurley and Ben start pulling. Wrong guy. They’ve landed themselves a Desmond.

Ben apologizes for what he did to Locke. He was selfish and jealous that he was special. If it helps, Locke forgives him. That does help, and by the way, you can get out of that wheelchair now.

With Jack gone, Hugo’s now stuck doing that job. Ben suggests maybe there’s a better way than how Jacob ran things, such as letting people leave the island.

Kate brings Jack to where he was going to have his father’s funeral. They’ll be waiting inside for him once he’s ready to leave.

When he gets inside and touches his father’s coffin, he finally remembers everything. Then he opens it. It’s empty, but then he turns around and sees his dead father standing behind him. Seems they have something in common. They’re both dead. Everybody in the church? They’re dead, too. But they made a place together so that they could find each other because they all need each other to remember and to let go. Now it’s time to move on.

Jack wakes up on the island. He’s in rough shape, but he’s a few steps above dead. After collapsing, he hears Vincent coming up from behind him. Then he sees a plane fly overhead. His eyes close. And that is apparently how we’re going to end the series. Really?

American Idol Season 9 Episode 42

Casey James was finally eliminated in American Idol Season 9 Episode 41, leaving a final two showdown of Lee DeWyze against Crystal Bowersox. One song will be chosen by the contestants, one will be chosen by Simon Fuller, and one will be the song they’ll be forced to sing if they win.

Lee DeWyze
Song: The Boxer by Simon & Garfunkel (from inspirational week)
Randy: A great way to start it off. Pick it up and get some more energy going.
Ellen: Couldn’t be prouder if I birthed you myself. Better than the first time.
Kara: Gotta push harder, but a meaningful song.
Simon: Would expect a lot more passion and excitement. A kiss on the cheek when I want a kiss on the lips.
Numbers: 1-866-IDOLS-01, 1-866-IDOLS-03, 1-866-IDOLS-05

Crystal Bowersox
Song: Me and Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin (from Billboard #1’s week)
Randy: I hope you make a record like that.
Ellen: Stunning.
Kara: Loved it when you first did and tonight.
Simon: Brought back to the time when we fell in love with you, before the last three or four weeks.
Numbers: 1-866-IDOLS-02, 1-866-IDOLS-04, 1-866-IDOLS-06

Lee DeWyze
Song: Everybody Hurts by R.E.M. (executive producer choice)
Randy: Better. Could feel the Lee I love by the end.
Ellen: Felt you went off a couple times but really don’t care about that.
Kara: Emotionally accessible. Not a perfect vocal.
Simon: Brilliant song choice. Feeling the nerves.

Crystal Bowersox
Song: Black Velvet by Alannah Myles (executive producer choice)
Randy: Mamasox is in it to win it.
Ellen: Fantastic. (And some babbling about wardrobe, as if Paula never left.)
Kara: That’s what tonight was all about.
Simon: Almost allergic to that song, but you nailed it.

Lee DeWyze
Song: Beautiful Day by U2 (wait, what?)
Randy: By the middle of the song, you started getting your groove back.
Ellen: Love that you’ve been able to get to this place to do that.
Kara: Swallowed up a bit in that song. You’ve grown the most in this show and have one of the most commercial voices of the season.
Simon: Made the most of it. This is what this competition was designed for.

Crystal Bowersox
Song: Up to the Mountain by Patty Griffin (apparently, they’re picking more or less suitable existing songs, after Kris Allen dropped Kara’s lame song from his performances)
Randy: This is what the show is about. An amazing song by an amazing singer. One of the greatest performances at the perfect time.
Ellen: Cannot compare you to one contemporary artist. In a league of your own.
Kara: Completely emotionally invested in that song. Really blossomed with that song.
Simon: By far the best performance and the song of the night.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of American Idol 9 Episode 43, where we will find out who the American Idol Season 9 winner is, which airs Wednesday at 8/7c on Fox.

The Biggest Loser Season 9 Winner

Michael and Ashley were above the yellow line in The Biggest Loser Season 9 Episode 18, securing their spots in the finals. That left Koli and Daris competing for America’s vote for the third and final place in the final three.

The first order of business is to reveal the third finalist. America has chosen Daris, in spite of his 2 pound weight gain on last week’s show.

Season 3 winner Erik has (re)lost over 150 pounds since Bob challenged him.

Shay, who started to get on my nerves last season going on about how she couldn’t do it alone without being on the ranch, is back to find out how much money she’s won from Subway. She has dropped from 304 pounds to 252 pounds, a 52 pound decrease that has netted her $52,000. She gets her check from Jared. He still works for them? Wait, there’s more. She and Jared will complete a marathon at the end of the year, and then the check will be doubled. To help her get ready, Subway will provide her free breakfasts and lunches.

Next up is the weigh-in to find out who is the at home prize winner of $100,000.

Cherita: 186 pounds (-91, 32.85%) – leader
Victoria: 222 pounds (-136, 37.99%) – new leader
Sherry: 119 pounds (-99, 45.41%) – new leader
Maria: 167 pounds (-114, 40.57%)
Patti: 170 pounds (-73, 30.04%)
Stephanie: 165 pounds (-99, 37.50%)
James: 357 pounds (-128, 26.39%)
John: 335 pounds (-149, 30.79%)
Melissa: 143 pounds (-90, 38.63%)
Lance: 237 pounds (-128, 35.07%)
Migdalia: 213 pounds (-52, 19.62%)
Miggy: 149 pounds (-91, 37.92%)
O’Neal: 230 pounds (-159, 40.87%)
Sunshine: 161 pounds (-114, 41.45%)
Darrell: 224 pounds (-189, 45.76%) – new leader
Andrea: 214 pounds (-84, 28.19%)
Cheryl: 151 pounds (-76, 33.48%)
Sam: 230 pounds (-142, 38.17%)
Koli: 188 pounds (-215, 53.35%)

With over 50% weight loss for the season, Koli has easily won the at home prize. Darrell and Sherry also put up some impressive numbers, and there were a few others in the 40% range. Migdalia’s still on the right path, but it doesn’t look as if she’s learned what she could have.

Now on to the main event. Michael has chosen to let everyone weigh-in by order of age from youngest to oldest.

Daris: 178 pounds (-168, 48.55%)
Ashley: 191 pounds (-183, 48.93%)
Michael: 262 pounds (-264, 50.19%)

Strong performance by all three finalists, but Michael Ventrella is ultimately The Biggest Loser Season 9 winner.

This fall, The Biggest Loser Season 10 will be back in its regular Tuesday at 8 time slot on NBC. Starting next week, Jillian Michaels will cross the country making housecalls in Losing it with Jillian.

Lost Season 6 Episode 17

Desmond set all the pieces moving in the right direction in Lost Season 6 Episode 16. Meanwhile, Jack was given Jacob’s job to protect the light, which the black smoke wants to put out.

Jack’s “cargo” (aka his father’s body) has arrived from the airline.

Sawyer is off to go get Desmond out of the well, while the others head to the heart of the island.

Hurley goes to round up the next person on his list, the drunken rock star Charlie. If he won’t come willingly, a tranquilizer dart should do the trick.

At the well, James does not find Desmond, but he does find Locke and Ben. After saying they’re not candidates any more, Sawyer takes off with Ben’s gun.

Desmond wakes up on the ground, greeted by golden retriever Vincent and Rose and her husband Bernard. Locke is not far behind. In order to spare them, Desmond agrees to do whatever Locke wants. He assumes they’re going to a place with a very bright light.

Miles has located Richard, who was thrown into the jungle when he thought it would be a good idea to talk to the black smoke.

Officer Miles just saw Sayid, which is weird considering that Sawyer just sent him to county.

Sun is in the hospital, where she’s being seen by Juliet. During the ultrasound, Sun remembers everything. Oh, and the baby’s healthy.

Miles welcomes Richard to the club. He got his first grey hair. While they’re rowing, they run over a body in the water, then they hear screams for help a ways away. It’s Frank.

Everybody’s going to the same place, so Jack wants to go with Locke because he wants to kill him. How he’s going to do that is a surprise, even to Jack. After they walk for a while, Locke suggests that it should just be himself, Jack, and Desmond from that point forward. They tie Desmond up to lower him to the light, where he hopes to go to some happy place where the plane never crashed.

Sayid and Hugo see Shannon getting fake mugged by her brother Boone, and Sayid steps in to save her. They immediately know who each other is.

Claire’s back, and she’s got a gun. She thinks Miles and Richard were sent there to kill her by Locke. They say they just want to go home, but she’s not interested.

Now that Desmond’s been lowered to the light, the question is whether Locke or Jack is right.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another recap of Lost Season 6 Episode 18 The End, Part 2.

The Celebrity Apprentice 3 Winner

Three people were fired in The Celebrity Apprentice 3 Episode 10. First Maria was sent home for talking about Curtis leaving the bathroom stinky. Curtis followed her right out after Bill Rancic decided he was just a one trick pony. Then Sharon Osbourne broke down crying. This brought us down to a final two of Bret Michaels and Holly Robinson Peete.

Bret Michaels wants that dolly track, but it’s not happening, so he’s planning on improvising instead. Is it really that critical?

Ivanka’s confused why Bret made the decision to do twice as much work as he needed to do. We’ll see how that works out as far as the time crunch goes.

Bret hops in the van to go to the edit place because he will be finishing up the work on the two commercials. He thinks he forgot something. Ah, it’s nothing. After about 20 minutes, he realizes he forgot the script he spent the day writing that he needs to actually finish the commercials.

One of Curtis’ best mates is getting married and is asking him to go to the dinner, so he will be bailing early.

Script or no script, Bret proceeds to edit the commercial anyway. He’s decided to drop that whole two commercial idea that was a waste of time to begin with. A confused Summer doesn’t get his funny commercial at all. Then she warns him there’s a launch event the next morning, not just a quick presentation.

The day of the event, Bret gets a surprise visit from his daughter Rain, the one who is borderline diabetic.

Both project managers give their presentations. Holly seems pretty comfortable. Bret stumbles at first but gets better as the presentation goes on. Once they’re done, Trump takes a poll. Seems Bret has the most support.

The executives give no indication of a clear favorite.

Since he did not win any money for charity, Darryl Strawberry will be getting $25,000 for the Darryl Strawberry Foundation for autism.

Unlike Bret’s commercial, which starred himself and Darryl, Holly missed the celebrity boat by not including anyone from her team.

Bret’s label was too dark, whereas the executives loved Holly’s label. Trump agrees. However, the inside of Holly’s brochure was just boring information, whereas Bret’s was fun. So they’ll call that one a draw.

Holly could sit on the Snapple board, while Bret has the personality of the Snapple target demographic.

Summer has a choice to make. Does she want her teammate to win, or does she want her friend to win? She will side with Bret because she worked hard for him, although she can’t say he’s a good project manager. He was decent. After they badger her for a while, she says he was good.

Based on her emotions, Joan Rivers supports Bret, despite Holly being better. Bill Rancic says that Holly was a stronger player. Rod Blagojevich wants Trump to keep Bret around because his daughter jumped into his arms.

The question everyone’s been asking for a while is whether Bret would be here tonight, and he is, against the orders of his doctors. Even Holly’s crying for her opponent. Unlike the rigged outcome last year where Joan and her bitter daughter hated Annie Duke (who should have won), this year these two actually like each other.

Holly says she’s not as mean as she seemed on the show.

Snapple has agreed to match the grand prize, so both charities will receive $250,000, regardless of the outcome.

Bret Michaels is The Celebrity Apprentice 3 winner.

The Celebrity Apprentice has been renewed for season 4 and will be back in midseason. Additionally, regular The Apprentice will be back in the fall.
