Big Brother 10 Episode 20

During his endurance competition victory in Big Brother 10 Episode 19, Dan made one of the craziest deals in the history of the show, agreeing to nominate whoever Ollie wanted. Staying true to his word, Dan nominated his ally Memphis, alongside his nemesis Jerry.

Ollie believes his hands are clean. Dan believes the same thing. Neither is correct.

Dan tells Memphis that, despite having gone along with the plan thus far, he has no intention of living up to the agreement of letting Ollie pick the replacement nominee for a veto. Shouldn’t have offered that part of the deal then. That’s a target on his back just waiting to happen.

America’s vote is for a phone call from home. This leads to much tears. Jerry wins and gets to speak to his family, including his sick wife. As hated as Jerry is, I’m not surprised by this because it typically goes to the family person (except the time the dumb blonde was allowed to discuss whether Britney Spears had her baby).

Everybody feels threatened by Michelle, especially since Ollie’s made it so obvious they’re in an alliance now.

Dan picks Renny for veto.
Ollie picks Keesha.
Jerry picks Michelle (houseguest’s choice).

The players get in their spacesuits and land on planet veto. Michelle, Dan, and Keesha are in race 1. Memphis, Jerry, and Renny are in race 2. They must glide back and forth above the ground collecting puzzle pieces, then solve the puzzle, being careful of the extra puzzle pieces. Keesha wins race 1. Memphis is doing this how it should be done, getting across without even needing to use his hands on the cable, and he wins the second race. Keesha and Memphis go head to head with a new puzzle. Memphis wins this race and the power of veto.

Ollie’s giddy. He believes he’s safe and that Dan is willing to piss off his allies by nominating (another) one of them.

Ollie tells Dan he wants Keesha to go up. So now he’s revealed both his closest ally and his two biggest enemies. Keep a little something to yourself, dude.

Dan’s still hoping to remove some of the target he’s put on his back. He wants to play a game at veto, and he wants to get each person at the ceremony to say another person’s name for who they want as the replacement. He sets it up beforehand and hopes it will go through according to plan when they actually hold the ceremony. Michelle says Keesha. Ollie agrees to Renny after Dan badgers him. Keesha’s okay saying Michelle. Renny reluctantly agrees to say Ollie, but only after Dan tells her that Ollie will be saying her name.

As expected, Memphis will be removing himself from the block. Dan goes through with his plan, turning it back to the houseguests. He asks everybody what they think and gives them a warning to play by his rules or else. The houseguests all answer as they had previously. Pretty pointless, except that he did manage to drive a wedge between Renny and Ollie.

When all’s said and done, Dan goes against his deal and nominates Michelle in Memphis’ place. I’m not real sure what difference it makes whether Memphis or Keesha is up on the block since he’s still got the votes either way. Unless he really just doesn’t trust Memphis.

Big Brother 10 Episode 19

Following April’s eviction from the house, we left off in Big Brother 10 Episode 18 at the start of an endurance HOH competition.

It’s like a carnival ride. The contestants are being swung up and down and back and forth into a wall. Jerry is the first one out after 41 minutes. Keesha falls at 1 hour 5 minutes. In addition to not being able to feel their legs, the rain is making for a cold competition. Michelle drops at 1 hour 59 minutes. Memphis hangs in for quite a while longer but drops at 3 hours 19 minutes, leaving Dan and Ollie to fight for HOH.

Ollie’s desperate for this after what happened with April. Meanwhile, Dan had been playing the Dr. Will game until Renny’s HOH, but he doesn’t trust Ollie either. Let the deal making begin. Problem is neither guy wants to step down. Dan swears on his girlfriend that Ollie’s safe, but he’s not interested. Dan wants to make it look like he’s still weak, even if he wins HOH. He makes another deal. Dan picks one nomination, excluding the two people Ollie wants safe. Ollie calls all the shots after that. Ollie takes the deal, and Dan wins HOH. He knows it’s a crap deal, but he’s confident it will work out nonetheless.

When Dan goes to his HOH unveiling, he’s still thinking strategy, turning on some tears to make the other houseguests think he’s a weak player.

Ollie lets Dan know his target: Memphis. So much for the secret alliance. This is a genius move if it works because it throws anyone off the scent of their alliance, but it’s dog dumb if Memphis ends up going home.

Dan knows he needs two votes to keep Memphis safe. Keesha’s an easy vote. The problem is Renny really can’t be trusted. She lets him know that Memphis can’t be trusted, but she seems to be comfortable with bringing Memphis to the final four and then cutting him.

Memphis emphasizes it’s a stupid deal. Dan realizes it’s a stupid deal but just wonders whether it’s worth the risk.

Jerry tells us that his approach doesn’t involve sour grapes.

Nominations
Ollie is safe.
Renny is safe.
Keesha is safe.
Michelle is safe.

As planned, Jerry and Memphis have been nominated for eviction. This is one of the craziest nominations ever, but Dan’s positioned himself nicely in the house regardless of what happens. The ironic thing is that his only real danger now is his ally, who’s pissed off that he nominated him.

Big Brother 10 Episode 18

Dan seemed to have some interest in fixing the nominations in Big Brother 10 Episode 17, but after some threats from Renny, he decided not to use the power of veto and left April and Jerry on the block.

Votes
Keesha-April
Memphis-April
Ollie-Jerry
Dan-April
Michelle-April

By a vote of 4-1, April has been evicted from the Big Brother house. Ollie will apparently be moving to Arizona where April lives after the show, but they say it’s not to be together.

The HOH competition is an endurance competition. The last person hanging on their jungle vine will become HOH.

Julie tells us that next week will be a special double eviction episode.

Big Brother 10 Episode 17

Renny’s HOH win was followed by nominations of April and Jerry in Big Brother 10 Episode 16. I don’t get the sense anybody would miss either of them very much.

Nobody thinks Renny made the right move. Dan believes she may have a secret deal with Ollie. Ollie’s planning to use veto and take April off so that Renny, whose target is April, wastes her time as HOH. Keesha, Memphis, and Dan know they have to fight for veto. Renny tells Keesha that she likes Ollie and doesn’t want to put him up.

Renny chooses Dan at random for veto.
April chooses Keesha.
Jerry chooses Ollie.

April and Ollie are jumping up and down. Everybody else panics and gets angry. They think Renny’s screwing them on purpose.

The backyard is haunted. Ollie’s most scared by the crows. They must examine all of the items for 5 minutes. Then they have to answer the amounts in questions afterward. Players can stay or fold. If they stay, they get a point if they’re closest, but they get eliminated if they’re furthest. Whoever folds continues to the next round but without any points. Ollie, Dan, April, and Keesha fold on the first question. Jerry is closest, so Renny’s eliminated. Ollie and Dan fold on the second question. Jerry scores another point, while April is eliminated. Jerry folds on the third question, though it turns out he was closest. Dan scores a point, but Keesha is eliminated. Ollie and Jerry fold on the next question. Dan scores a second point by default. Nobody folds on this last question. Dan is closest and wins the power of veto. Quite a change in strategy for the guy who’s been playing the role of weak player for so long (quite successfully). His mistrust for Renny is pretty apparent.

April believes she can convince Dan to use the veto on her. Why? Just… why? She hopes to be able to bribe him with the $5k in gold bars plus a promise to not nominate him next week. Dan’s not even thinking anything along those lines. His only consideration is if he should use the veto to save Jerry and force Renny’s hand so she will make the nominations she should have made in the first place. Jerry, having called Dan Judas last week, promises to be loyal to whoever keeps him around this week. Memphis doesn’t trust Renny enough to believe she won’t put him up.

Dan asks Renny if she made a deal with Ollie. She denies any deal, but she again repeats that she likes Ollie. She also doesn’t give any indication that she’d put him up if Jerry were taken off the block.

Dan has decided not to use the veto. He uses the ceremony to bring up the money he was offered. April thinks she’s going home and plans to be a total bitch (apparently, this is a change).

Big Brother 10 Episode 16

Following Libra’s eviction, power shifted once again as Renny won HOH in Big Brother 10 Episode 15.

Keesha’s happy she’s at least a little more liked than Libra is, as if that’s saying something.

April’s already plotting how she will act if she’s nominated against Jerry, who she has also decided she hates.

Renny doesn’t want Keesha to be close to anybody but her, and she wants her to stop being so friendly to Memphis. While the goal here is to get Keesha to be worried about Memphis, their discussion just leads her to be concerned about Renny.

Ollie and April try to convince us they’re far beyond just a showmance.

Renny wants Michelle to be on her side. She wants her to swear on a bible, on her parents, and in blood that she won’t turn on her. As for Keesha, well, that alliance with her continues to fade.

It’s a gross food competition. They will be eating slop, pig ears, and crickets. After saying grace, Dan downs a plate of crickets to earn a point for the red team. Michelle, who loves pig ears, instead opts for crickets, and she earns another point for the red team. Jerry eats a bowl of slop with much difficulty and earns the first point for the blue team. Memphis eats pig ears to earn a second point for the blue team. Michelle happily eats some pig ears to earn a third point for red. April, a vegetarian, selects pig ears for some reason, which she eats to win the food competition for the red team. April, Michelle, Dan, and Keesha are on food. Jerry, Memphis, and Ollie are on slop, in addition to the one item America voted for, giant lollipops.

Ollie’s afraid of birds. Yep, nothing quite as terrifying as the deadly man-eating crow.

Renny tells Dan she may need him to be a pawn. She believes that putting him up will minimize her enemies. The others all tell her this is a stupid idea. Eventually, she comes up with the idea of bouncing this off Ollie to see where he stands, and he interprets this as meaning April is her target. He says he’s there to win, but he still pushes for her to get rid of Jerry instead of April.

Nobody feels safe because Renny’s a bit of a nutcase.

Nominations
Dan is safe.
Keesha is safe.
Ollie is safe.
Memphis is safe.
Michelle is safe.

Jerry and April have been nominated for eviction. She tells April it’s because she’s a big threat, and she tells Jerry it’s about revenge for him nominating her. Keesha doesn’t get why Renny didn’t nominate April and Ollie. April’s very excited about being on the block against Jerry.

BB10 Spoilers

Big Brother 10 Episode 15

Jerry won the veto in Big Brother 10 Episode 14, and despite how much he hates Dan’s guts and intestines, he decided to honor the HOH’s wishes and keep Libra and Keesha on the chopping block.

Nobody can believe the words that are coming out of Jerry’s mouth. I wouldn’t want to be one of his allies, who can’t believe it either. Dan’s thrilled because this has backfired and created sympathy for him rather than getting anyone to hate him as intended.

April’s prettier than Keesha. Or at least that’s what April tells us.

Memphis has a new plan. Him and Dan going to the end with Renny and Keesha.

According to April, Dan is dangerous because he’s turned against his alliance once already. When did that happen? She and Ollie want to get Dan’s vote to keep Libra around. Yeah, apparently they didn’t learn their lesson the last time a secret vote was organized. Libra tells Dan she’s got three votes, not really getting into more details than that. He says he’ll think about it. Don’t tell Jerry that. He’ll view it as some sort of religious promise.

Libra’s husband was happy that she took the Hawaiian trip like she knew he would be, contrary to what Michelle’s whining would have suggested.

Dan admits that he’s made some mistakes in the game, but he just plans to go to confession when he gets out. Jerry calls religion a prop. Whatever that’s about.

Michelle says she says a lot of things without thinking, but at least she’s aware of it.

Votes
Renny-Libra
Memphis-Libra
Jerry-Libra
Dan-Libra
Ollie-Libra
April-Libra

By a vote of 6-0, Libra has been evicted from the Big Brother house and is the first member of the jury. She walks out with a smile and hugs everyone. She thinks she would probably be friends with April and Keesha outside the house. She’s surprised the others gave her so much credit/blame for what happened in the house.

The HOH competition is about quotes that the evicted houseguests said in the diary room. Whoever gets an answer correct can eliminate someone else from the competition. Renny is correct and eliminates April. Dan is correct and eliminates Jerry. Ollie is incorrect and is eliminated. Memphis is incorrect and is eliminated. Dan is incorrect and is eliminated. Renny is correct and is the new HOH. Power swings back the other way. Typical.

America’s vote this time is pointless: the opportunity to give the houseguests an additional food item.

BB10 Spoilers

Big Brother 10 Episode 14

Big Brother 10 Episode 13 saw yet another set of predictable nominations as Michelle put Libra and Keesha on the chopping block. Somewhat less predictable was that these people outdid themselves in terms of how psycho crazy they can be. The burn in Hell bit was a particularly nice touch.

Michelle wants Libra and Keesha to know how it feels to campaign against each other and have their own alliance have to pick between the both of them because that’s what they (aka April) did to Jessie.

April’s key being the first one out of the box wasn’t lost on anybody.

Michelle tells Keesha that Libra is her target because Libra and nobody else wanted each of the first four people gone. This logic is not like our earth logic.

Dan’s only concerned if Jerry, who wants him on the block, wins veto.

Michelle selects April for veto at random.
Keesha selects Memphis.
Libra selects Jerry.

Jerry believes Dan’s a much bigger threat. He’s correct, although his reasoning behind it is about as lame as could be expected. Michelle says there’s a reason his key was last in the box. So is there also a reason April’s was first?

The houseguests head out into the backyard to see thousands of onions that smell like an armpit. They must gather and chop onions to be placed in either the veto bin or the mystery bin. The person with the heaviest veto bin will win veto, while the two people with the heaviest mystery bins will win the mystery prizes. Dan asks Ollie how bad Jerry wants him out of the house, and the response is that it’s like it’s personal (not to mention childish) and that he’ll probably make a deal with someone if he wins.

Mystery box
Memphis: 33.8 pounds
April: 27.4 pounds
Michelle: 19.4 pounds
Keesha: 17.6 pounds
Libra: 17.2 pounds (no onions)
Jerry: 17.2 pounds

April and Memphis win the mystery prizes. Memphis will be able to wear a custom made onion necklace for 24 hours. April will receive 5 designer outfits selected by a personal stylist.

Veto box
Memphis: 25.8 pounds
April: 27.4 pounds
Michelle: 31 pounds
Keesha: 29.8 pounds
Libra: 32 pounds
Jerry: 36.8 pounds

Jerry has won the power of veto, obviously a lot more desperate for veto than anybody else on his “side.” Libra thinks she’s a goner.

Michelle wants things to stay the same because it would guarantee Libra going home. Jerry wants Dan on the block because he can’t get past how Dan apparently allegedly lied to him with his responses of “Okay, Jerry” during their keep Jessie in the house conversation.

At the feast, everybody tries to pretend they don’t hate each others’ guts. It’s all fun and games until Dan tries to apologize to Jerry. And for some reason Michelle thinks Libra’s a bitch. Then Libra pulls Ollie into the other room and takes the opportunity to bring up the other night’s screaming match, but during their surprisingly calm talk, she tells him what Keesha herself admits: it was Keesha, not Libra, who was the catalyst to the Jessie boot.

So back we go then to how much Michelle hates Libra. She picks up on the most silly detail (a comment Libra said obviously jokingly that nobody else noticed) and tries to use it to get Keesha to turn on her. Michelle pretends the comment sounded serious, and Keesha buys it, causing yet another fight. During this fight, Libra blames Keesha for booting Jessie. This then turns around to Keesha blaming April. Michelle, whose motive was to get Libra and Keesha arguing, is wondering how this backfired and Keesha’s now yelling at her and saying she hates April.

Despite his incessant whining and use of the term Judas during the veto ceremony, Jerry decides to not use the veto because the HOH doesn’t want him to. Dan’s very pleased with the outcome and unphased by Jerry’s melodrama.

Big Brother 10 Episode 13

Returning to its roots as a popularity contest, Big Brother 10 Episode 12 saw Jessie evicted from the Big Brother house based on America’s vote. Following Jessie’s eviction, Michelle won HOH, putting big(ger) targets on Libra’s and Keesha’s backs since they turned on their alliance for no apparent reason last week.

Tonight’s episode is delayed due to the 60 Minutes/golf overrun (yes, this again). A live recap will begin when 60 Minutes is over.

As he was walking out of the house, Jessie asked Memphis and Michelle to stay together in the alliance that’s been a sinking ship for the past month.

Jerry hates Dan’s guts now. He tells him not to hide behind his cross. This from the guy who took offense to people who took issue with him being a military man and lying.

Michelle promises us she’s flipping this upside down. Yeah, we heard that threat before. April, meanwhile, says that the other people are afraid of Michelle and herself. Wait a minute. That’s the duo to be afraid of? That’s even a duo?

Next up, it’s a competition to see who’s the loudest, most obnoxious person in the house. Michelle, Jerry, April, and Libra are all too close to call.

Eventually this comes around to how Dan needs to burn in Hell because he apparently lied.

Dan asks Memphis to start damage control and try to work his mojo on the lunatic who used to be in his alliance. Dan continues to play the weak player role.

Memphis is getting tired of seeing April’s lips on Michelle’s ass.

Jerry doesn’t want to ever speak to Dan again. Michelle continues to beat to death her bitterness over the unitard competition.

Brian (from this season… not sure why considering who else is there) is back with one person from each of the prior seasons. Chicken George, Bunky, Amy, Jun, Jase, Janelle, Mike Boogie, Jen (at least it’s not what’s his name or his daughter), and Matt are all there to get another 15 seconds of fame. Current houseguests are playing for food. Returning houseguests are playing for cash. Dan is incorrect, not believing that Brett Favre is a New York Jet, so Mike Boogie gets $1k in cash, whereas the house is on slop for Monday. Renny doesn’t believe the ridiculous story that gas is over $6/gallon, so the house gets food for Tuesday. Jerry thinks that Jessie, who was evicted like 8 hours ago, has been offered a magazine cover already, so the house is on slop for Wednesday, and Janelle wins some cash. Chinese officials have banned bald and smelly cab drivers, which Memphis gets incorrect. Ollie doesn’t believe China can prevent rainfall, which they apparently can, so the house is on slop for another day. Libra gets her question wrong as well, as Cheech and Chong have apparently reunited. Michelle doesn’t believe that the earthquake was fake, and she is right, so she wins a feast for the house. April believes that Britney Spears is going to create a country album, putting the house on slop for Saturday. Keesha gets the final question right, scoring the third non-slop day for the week.

Michelle believes Dan’s in an alliance with Libra, Renny, and Keesha. Huh? She also doesn’t realize or care that April nominated her two allies last week, yet now April all of a sudden wants to be her best friend.

Nominations
April is safe.
Memphis is safe.
Ollie is safe.
Jerry is safe.
Renny is safe.
Dan is safe.

Libra and Keesha have been nominated for eviction. Pretty obvious result considering their unnecessarily bold move last week. And in case you missed it the first few times, Jerry hates Dan.
