Jane Seymour to Return to Dancing with the Stars

Following the death of her 92-year-old mother, Jane Seymour has decided to return to Dancing with the Stars, reports Starpulse. She was not present for the results show Tuesday because she flew back to England for the funeral, and she was not voted off. She originally signed up for the show as a tribute to her mother.

Show host Tom Beregron says, “We are happy to say that Jane has decided to remain in the competition as a tribute to her mother’s memory.”

CSI: NY Season 4, Episode 2 – “The Deep”

Last week, Mac’s return from London shocked him with a crime scene on the Statue of Liberty’s face. This week, the CSI team is faced with a diver’s body that has been found with a tank filled with oxygen. How can he die of asphyxiation?

At the lab, Dr. Hammerback finds that his body has several starfish that feasted on the vic’s internal organs, but the cause of death is fatal amounts of cyanide in the body.  Since the victim had a congenital ear deformity called “cabbage ears”, the prosthetics led to the victim’s identity. His name was Doug Holden, an advanced certified driving instructor. Flacks and Stella questioned some of Holden’s students, including a married couple and two Albanian men.

Back at the lab, Lindsay discovers that the stomachs of the starfish had asbestos from subway cars, leading the team to suspect that Holden was killed in old subway cars dumped in the East River around 1970s. Hawkes and Danny took a dive to check out the cars only to discover the body of Holden’s missing partner, Matt Campbell.

The team finds out that both divers died of cyanide poisoning. Campbell’s body, however, had several gold coins in his pocket. Stella takes those coins to the antique store to determine its origin, but discovers all coins to be fake. A guy named “Drew Bedford” introduces himself to Stella.

Lindsay found larvae (in Campbell’s body) that are found in regions 100 feet deeper than the Hawkes and Danny previously looked. The two went diving again only to recover an old chest with more golden coins, a statue and a syringe. While searching for other clues, Hawkes got trapped in a metal pole. Fortunately, Danny came back to free Hawkes and they both got to land safely.

At the CSI lab, Danny examines the syringe and discovers large amounts of cyanide in it, making it the murder weapon. Plus, it also has a DNA with a mutation only unique to people from the Balkan descent. Stella recalls the two Albanian men she questioned.

At the Albanians’ apartment, the first suspect (Zamir Duka) tries to run pass Mac and Flack but was caught immediately. Stella searches for the other suspect, but instead finds a room filled with information on makings of a bomb. Mac and Flack put together that the commissioner has been running investigations into Iraqi insurgents, which the two Albanians would want to stop. After hiring the two certified divers to train them, the Albanians killed the men by luring them into the deep waters of East River with a promise of hidden treasure, which ended up being fake.

After calling in a death threat against the commissioner, the second suspect dived deep into the river to place the bomb. Flack learns about this threat and discovers that the commissioner is taking a helicopter to a UN conference, wherein they will land right over the water just as the Albanians have planned. The police disarms the bomb before the suspect could successfully set his bomb off, while Mac and Flack races to the pier to surprises the suspect that he’s under arrest.

Bionic Woman Episode 2

In episode 1, Jaime got into an accident and was turned into a bionic woman (didn’t see that one coming), and she then met up with her apparently evil counterpart Sarah Corvis.

Episode 2 starts in a cemetery, and at the funeral for her boyfriend Will, Jonas comes up to talk to Jaime. She doesn’t have any interest in talking to him and wants to pretend she’s just a normal person again. She then says she’s looking for Mr. right now and doesn’t have any trouble finding him, though she also doesn’t have any problem breaking his rib. Then Jonas shows up again. He tells her she could do something with her life and make a difference. He tells her his organization is saving the world and asks if she’s in or out. She says she’s out.

Becca gets caught smoking pot at school. The principal says it could lead to expulsion but also suggests taking away extracurricular activities, like the talent show. Jaime stands up for her and asks that they don’t take the talent show away, but it doesn’t take long before two of them are arguing.

Jaime meets up with her friends, who are discussing their future, which leads her to question hers, so she takes off. As she’s walking around, her powers kick in, allowing her to find and save a woman about to jump. After this, she decides she’s okay with saving the world, on her own terms. When she gets to Jonas, she realizes the guy who supposedly was a stranger giving her helpful advice in a store was actually someone sent there by Jonas intentionally. He tells her he wanted to find out of she was with another agency.

Then it’s time to train, with a repeat of the battle she had with Sarah (this time with Jay). He tells her about what her capabilities actually are. He says whether he’s in love with Sarah or not doesn’t matter because his first priority is the agency. Once the training session’s done, she offers to help investigate a small town under quarantine, where everyone’s dead. She’s not able to deal with this scene very well and has to go outside for some fresh air.

The deaths were caused by a toxin the agency developed. Upon further investigation, they go into a house and find someone still alive. They ask the girl if she remembers anything out of the ordinary, and she says there was a weird truck driving around. She’s surprised to find out the entire rest of the town is dead. A group of men with guns come up to her and Jaime pretending to be there to help. They start running, and the men shoot at them. While they’re hiding, Becca calls to say she’s moving back with her father. It’s then time for Jaime to take one of them out. Ruth Treadwell (Molly Price, Third Watch/Detective Faith Yokas), who brought Jaime there, comes in and says they have to get out of there. As they’re heading out, reinforcements arrive.

Jay goes to find Sarah, who says she thinks someone hacked her when she killed previously.

Following some interrogation, they track down the source of the problems, where they find out larger cities were the next targets. Armed with the knowledge of how many people they just saved, Jaime says she’s in. And she still has time to go see Becca in the talent show and tells her she’s never going to live with their father.

Kid Nation Episode 3

In episode 2, the producers had the kids kill some chickens (through the “advice” in the “old” book), the yellow district continued to do nothing, and Michael won the gold star over a likely to be angry Greg, who found out pretending to be a hard worker for a couple days just to win $20,000 won’t necessarily work.

The show starts off with a party to celebrate making it through the first week. Lots of kids hopped up on sugar probably isn’t the best thing.

Those who weren’t smart enough to know not to stay up all night get a rude awakening early in the morning that they’re not ready for. The council rings the bell and screams, while Greg has fun banging pots and pulling people out into the street in their sleeping bags. Sophia confronts him about this, and he runs off and locks himself in the room. Mallory, 8, isn’t happy with the cursing.

The pioneers suggest some law and order, starting with a curfew, a pretty coincidental suggestion considering the late night partying the night before. The decision is that they must be in their bunks by 9:30. No questions asked and no discussion allowed.

The yellow district gets into a food fight, further adding to people’s wishes they be booted from the kitchen. They keep saying the problem’s their age, but Mallory is willing to step up and clean up after them.

It’s time for the next showdown to determine what the classes will be. The challenge is to work together to round up sheep. Council members will yell the names to their teams below. They get 5 minutes to catch 5 sheep. The whole thing is complete chaos with nobody being able to hear a thing. Blue gets off to an early lead as usual. Yellow catches up to them. Red and green are way behind. Yellow ends up winning, so they are the upper class, thanks to Colton’s animal background and fearlessness. This means the yellow district can do whatever they want, including nothing at all. So basically what they’ve been doing all along. Blue takes second to be the merchants. Green finally doesn’t lose the challenge, allowing them to get into the kitchen, where Sophia will take charge as she has been all along. With seconds to spare, red finishes last and are the laborers, but it’s fast enough to win the reward.

The choice is between 1) a microwave and a barrel of cocoa or 2) 40 pizzas with every topping. Mike wants pizza and is extremely vocal in his opposition, offering no support to his fellow town council members when the decision is announced. The other three go for the microwave and cocoa instead. Few of the kids are happy with this choice, whether it’s a logical choice or not. Some of them, however, realize that the pizza would be gone very quickly, whereas the cocoa and microwave would be useful for the rest of their time there.

Taylor may have dug her own grave by being so vocal. There were only a couple people who were upset with the council to begin with, but after no pizza and a curfew, there’s serious potential for her being overthrown.

Sophia tries to get a bag from Mallory for 5 cents, and Mallory offers a deal but isn’t a pushover. For her age, she’s proving pretty impressive at running the store.

Then a storm blows through town. There’s lots of wind and tipped over outhouses, but it looks to pass pretty quickly. Zach takes charge and gets the situation under control. The storm is enough to upset Cody, 9, and Mallory and make them homesick.

This time, the council is smart enough to get feedback from the others on who they think deserves the gold star. The main suggestions are Greg and Morgan, who has tried to step up and be the mom of the group to some of the younger kids. Olivia, Mallory’s sister, suggests Mallory, which does lead them to start looking at the kids who maybe aren’t old enough to pitch in as much as the older kids but are doing a great job in their own right.

As expected, nobody’s happy with Taylor’s pageant queen attitude. A lot of them are probably still bitter over the pizza party as well. She says she will work harder in the future, which buys her one more chance.

Nobody ends up going home this week. The gold star winner is Mallory, a happy 9th birthday present, which Greg says is the only reason she got it. I’m not sure he realizes if he finds a positive attitude and keeps working hard, he’ll get the star eventually, even if it takes a while.

NBC Picks Up Crusoe

“It’s part ‘MacGyver,’ part contemporary morality tale about race and personal discovery, part comedy, and part ‘Castaway’ meets ‘Survivor’,” said Ben Silverman off NBC. The show was chosen by NBC’s development team when asked to choose a list of the most engaging stories ever told.
