Hell’s Kitchen 3 Episode 3 Recap

Welcome to the Hell’s Kitchen 3 episode 3 recap!

Episode 1 of Fox Television’s best show saw my initial pick to win, Tiffany, get the boot, while episode 2 was a little more surprising. The constantly whining and crying retirement home Chef Aaron somehow managed to escape what seemed like certain doom, only for the little guy in the group and one of the shows most promising contestants, Eddie, to get axed.

Hopefully Aaron’s run of luck will all come to an end in tonight’s episode 3 and, judging by the previews and trailers for tonight’s show, it certainly looks like he’ll be the one to go, though I don’t think he’ll get eliminated, I think Chef Gordon Ramsay will give him the boot mid-service. So, enough talking about it, let’s get down to business!

  • Both the Red and Blue teams return to their quarters and Rock has a sit down with Josh and tells him he’s not the leader of the team, as much as he would like to think so sometimes.
  • 5:58am – A Navy and Marine officer bust into the contestants quarters and wake everyone up with some crazy bugel playing.
  • The guys have to dress Aaron because he’s so useless!
  • The Challenge: Both teams enter the kitchen to see Gordon Ramsay, who tells them they will, for the first time ever in Hell’s Kitchen, be serving breakfast! The kicker, they will be serving it to members of the US Army and Navy, so they better do well!
  • The Red team cooks for the Army, while the Blue team cooks for the Navy.
  • The women get off to a quick start, while the guys are quick to fal behind. Aaron volunteers to do omlettes and proceeds to burn two in a row, having to throw them out.
  • 17 minutes into service and the Red team has already sent out 20 dishes, while the Blue team has failed to get a single dish out. Ouch!
  • Things are going very well for the Red team until Joanna starts screwing up, sending out salty, raw hashbrowns. Chef Gordon Ramsay pulls all the girls aside, tells them all to get their act together, they’re going down hill and things get worse when Joanna says she’s out of potatoes. Uh oh!
  • Julia is stepping it up for the Red team, taking leadership.
  • The Blue team was doing okay, but again things start to break down and Aaron continues to screw everything up.
  • The Red team finishes up and Chef Gordon Ramsay sends Julia into the Blue kitchen to whip the guys into shape and get things running properly. She nailed it and made the guys look like a bunch of fools.
  • The Reward: The Red team gets a special military reward, a helicopter ride.
  • The Punishment: The Blue team gets stuck with KP duty, peeling potatoes and onions for an entire military base. Wow, that sucks.
  • As the Blue team is getting prepped to start KP duty, Aaron passes out, falls backwards and smashes in one of the aluminum cabinets. Yay! Usless twit!

  • Aaron is loaded into an ambulance and taken off to a nearby hospital to get checked out, while the women are loaded into a helicopter and wisked away for a tour of the USS Midway, the longest serving air craft carrier in the US Navy.
  • Rock and Josh continue to butt heads while peeling and cutting potatoes and onion, all the while the girls get to chat with Chef Gordon Ramsay over a nice meal.
  • Once back to the dorm, the girls break out the drinks and hop in the hot tub.
  • The guys return to the dorm and look to elect a team leader. Everyone pics themselves until Josh flips his votes and makes Brad the team leader.
  • Aaron sits in a hospital bed plugged into a bunch of machines and Chef Gordon Ramsay gives him a special phone call to tell him he’s been eliminated! Yay! Finally!!!!!!!
  • The Punishment – Part 2: The dining room is short on water, so the Blue team has cover the water demand!
  • The Service: Ramsay is on Rock early, riding him for closing his eyes because he’s getting to much sweat in them.
  • Joanna pooches a risotto and the Red team is forced starts over.
  • The dining room runs low on water and Ramsay sends Josh out to grab a bunch from a truck. On his way in, Josh trips on the stairs and smokes a knee, but jumps up and keeps going.
  • The Red teams falls even further behind when a scallop dish is sent to the hot plate raw.
  • Things are looking up for the Blue team as Rock takes control of the team and establishes his leadership.
  • Julia screws up big for the Red team and is playing with rancid crab, damn near serving it!
  • Vinnie comes damn close to punching Ramsay in the face as he pushes a raw egg against his chest.
  • Jan dumps a load of Julia’s spaghetti into the garbage right as another order comes in and, instead of cooking a new batch, Jan pulls it OUT OF THE GARBAGE and tries to serve it! Luckily Julia tells her to bugger off, throws it out and starts over. Phew.
  • Guest start to get up and leave the restaurant and Ramsay freaks, pulls all the orders out of the windows and shuts down the kitchen. Another failed service!
  • The Nomination: Ramsay picks the Blue team as the winning team for a change, and tells the Red team to nominate amungst themselves the worse two contestants.
  • Joanna is the first to get dumped on as the worst contestant, and then everyone starts in on Jan for the garbage can spaghetti incident. Even though Jan picked spaghetti from the garbage and planned to serve it, the other contestants nailed Julia to the wall for not knowing enough.
  • Both teams return to the kitchen and Joanna announces that the team has picked her and Julia as the worst, but before Ramsay has a chance to respond, Jan steps up and says she’s the second contestant, not Julia! Good girl! Take responsibility for your stupidity.

Wow, I can’t beleive Ramsay eliminated Joanna, even after Jan admitted to pulling and serving spaghetti from a garbage can. Are you kidding me? Sure, Joanna was messing with some funky crab, which is damn nasty and very risky, but spaghetti from a garbage can, you have got to be kidding me. I think maybe Ramsay should have lived up to his threat and gave them both the boot. Oh well, hopefully Jan will get the boot next week.

  1. Serving any food pulled from a garbage is just nasty! But nearly serving the bad crab could’ve caused some real problems. Both of them really screwed up…
