Survivor Cook Islands – Episode 13
December 14th, 2006 – Closer and ever close we draw to episode 14 and the December 10th season finale of Survivor Cook Islands. But first, as much as I’d like to know who the Survivor Cook Islands winner is, we have tonight’s episode to contend with. So enough dancing around it, let’s get into the meat and potatoes of it!

While lounging around in the shelter, as usual, Adam and Parvati continue to trash on Jonathan, even though they eliminated him in episode 12. Though they do get down to brass tacks after a while and try to strategize, which, in their cases, doesn’t work out to well. They both essentially agreed that one of the has to win the challenges, they have to try and screw up the Aitu alliance and that they both have to do whatever it takes to stay in the game. Fantastic strategy, can I get a Duh?!
Survivor Cook Islands Reward Challenge
The Challenge:
- Run through a short obstacle course and dive into a giant puddle of mud.
- Roll around and cover your body in as much mud as possible.
- Run back to the start and get as much mud off your body and into a bucket as possible.
- The contestant with the heaviest bucket after 10mins wins.
The Rewards:
- An overnight trip to a luxury spa on another islands.
- A massage, pool and hot tub, lots of food, lots of beer, wine and champagne, freshly washed clothes and a nice comfy bed to sleep in for the night.
- The winner gets to choose one person to send to exile island as well.
The Twist:
- Both second and third place contestants get to join the winner in the reward!
This challenge, like any other in recent history, kicks off with Playboy Foursome star Ozzy building up and almost unobtainable lead, though, towards the end, it does look like Parvati comes close to catching up. The best part of the challenge, however, came from Survivor host Jeff Probst, who said it was “like watching bad performance art.” But, it all came down to weight in the end:

As usual, Playboy Ozzy takes down the reward challenge and will be joined by Parvati and Yul, but, before leaving on their trip to the luxury spa, Ozzy banishes Adam to exile island.
Back at camp the mud caked and bummed out Sundra and Becky are forced to run for the shelter as one heck of a thunder storm breaks out and dumps a load of rain on them. While in the safe confines of their poorly constructed hut, the two girls chat about Ozzy and just how big of a threat he is. Oddly, it almost seems as if this is the first time they’ve really thought of the huge threat that Ozzy is. As a result, Becky starts to think it’s time to get rid of Ozzy.
Over in luxury spa land, Ozzy, Parvati and Yul are treated to nice refreshing showers before being lubed up and subjected to the glory that is a hot rock massage.
On exile island, things are going quite as well for Adam. He’s been reduced to eating hermit crabs and clams raw! Ewwwww. And if that wasn’t bad enough, he gets nailed by the full force of the thunder storm and all he has to protect him is a little plank full of gaps. Needless to say, he had a rough night and was getting awfully cold out there. Makes me wonder if they have EMTs at the ready, or anyone out there (other than the film crew) monitoring him to see if he needs medical attention or not.
Back in the lap of luxury, Ozzy, Parvati and Yul are chowing down on the nice array of eats set out before them, while washing it all down with bottle after bottle and glass after glass of beer, wine and champagne. But even the folks in the lap of luxury aren’t free from the effects of the thunder storm, as the power goes out and the three are forced to eat and drink by candle light. Rough, I know. While chowing down they got treated to a show by an island band and dance group who busted out the tunes and danced up a storm, and when that show ended, it was the viewers that was in for one more. Ozzy, Parvati and Yul all stripped down and loaded into the hot tub. Ozzy and Parvati were both, naturally, in their element and having a good time being naked and flirting, while Yul sat perfectly still and tried to avoid any kind of eye contact possible.
The next morning Ozzy, Parvati and Yul return from their brief get away and instantly get their heads back into the game. Yul and Becky step aside for a quick talk and Becky starts to push her idea of giving Ozzy the boot on Yul, who tells her that he knows Ozzy is a huge threat and agrees that he does need to get the boot, because no one can win against him in the final 2. Once Sundra gets into the mix of things, Yul starts to talk about how big a threat Parvati and how much going to the reward showed him that, and that they should be targeting her next, not Ozzy.
Survivor Cook Islands Immunity Challenge
- Run across a set of balance beams, without falling off, and pick up a bundle of puzzle pieces on the other side.
- Run back across the balance beams and drop the puzzle pieces next to a puzzle table.
- Once all four puzzle pieces are beside the puzzle table, assemble the puzzle.
- Put a cannon ball inside the puzzle and, using the puzzle table, rotate and tilt the puzzle to navigate the cannon ball to the other end of the puzzle, dropping it through one of two holes.
- The first contestant to successfully drop two cannon balls through both holes at the end of the puzzle wins Immunity!
As usual, Ozzy takes a head lead and dominates the competition, the only person to offer any resistance is Yul, who manage to pull even with him at the puzzle table. Becky, however, wasn’t out of the spotlight as she manage to slip off the highest balancing beam and fall on top of is, dropping her full body weight on the wooden beam across her chest. Ouch! Ozzy ends up with a very slight edge on Yul, as he finished assembling his puzzle just before Yul, only problem is, Yul assembled his wrong and has to redo it, when Ozzy got his right the first time. With little effort and lots of time, Ozzy drops the first cannon ball and the second without a problem and wins the Survivor Cook Islands Immunity challenge yet again!
Back at camp the bargaining and scheming kicks into high gear as Adam approaches Yul, knowing full well it’s either him or Parvati going home, he asks Yul to keep him around and give Parvati the boot. As much as he doesn’t want to see Parvati leave, if it’s between him and her, he obviously rather she get the boot. Yul completely understands where he’s coming from, tells Adam he actually likes him and sees Parvati as the bigger threat anyways.
Parvati, not to be one to roll over and die, pulls the same trick and tries to chat it up with Yul, only he’s not quite so receptive this time around. The odd thing is, is that Yul starts off by telling her she’s a bigger threat than Adam, and then some how ends up telling her, in the end, that Adam is actually the bigger threat than her, and she basically shouldn’t worry to much. Weird!
Not to be outdone by Yul’s godfather like puppetry, Adam and Parvati team up on Ozzy and try to convince him to flip and go after Sundra with them. Yul, however, notices them all chatting it up in the shelter and decides to pay Adam a visit after the chat breaks up. Yul basically goes right after him and tells him not to try and get Ozzy to flip. It was kind of stupid that Yul even bothered talking about it, it’s only to be expected, and threatening Adam about Ozzy’s actions isn’t going to achieve anything. I guess it’s just hard for a puppet master to give up control of the strings.
Before heading to tribal council, Yul picks up Jonathan’s hat, which he left behind, and brings it along with him to give back to Jonathan. Clearly a means of trying to get some kind of forgiveness and preference out of Jonathan for when the jury’s votes matter. Which leads us to:

Parvati is the next contestant to be vote off the Survivor Cook Islands, which leaves us with the final five: Yul, Adam, Ozzy, Becky and Sundra!
