December 13th, 2006 – The big day has finally come! Tonight’s episode of the Biggest Loser 3 was the season finale and it was absolutely fantastic! We got to see how all 50 original contestants look today, we got to see highlights of the past season in all its glory, and, most importantly, we finally got to find out who the Biggest Loser 3 winner is!

So, without further adieu, I present to you the episode 12 (season finale) recap of the Biggest Loser 3!

The show kicked off like every other episode of the Biggest Loser 3 did, with a recap, only it was a special kind of recap this time around. What with it being the 2-hour super-ultra-mega-special season finale and all, they had to give us just a bit more than the usual, so things kicked off with a recap of the entire season! Along with a fantastic recap of the entire season, we scored a reminder as to just how awesome the final four were looking when they left the ranch. Heather was down 56lbs, Kai was down 77lbs, Wylie was down 90lbs and Erik was down an incredible 124lbs. Here’s hoping they managed to keep it off and take even more off!

Biggest Loser 3 Prizes:

• The Biggest Loser of the 46 at home contestants goes home with a sweet check for the tidy sum of $50,000.
• Of the 10 previously eliminated contestants (that obviously aren’t in the final four), the contestant with the highest weight loss percentage takes home the Biggest Loser Club prize of $100,000.
• First prize overall not only walks away with the Biggest Loser crown, but a fresh $250,000!

Let’s do it! Let’s find out which of the 46 contestants takes home the $50,000 at home players prize! The top two contestant: Poppi from New Jersey and Matthew from Maine, are singled out as the two contestants with the highest weight loss of the group, and it all comes down to the weigh in:

Poppi wins the at home contestant prize and walks away with a cool $50,000 for her amazing weight loss numbers. She lost just over half of her entire body weight, that is incredible!

Now we get the first glimpses of our final four contestants as they return home to their families looking fantastic. The families were all amazed at how well their fellow family members had done, but the best reaction by far was saved for last, Erik returning home to his wife and two daughters. His wife was so blown away that all she could do was stare in disbelief and repeat “oh god! oh god!” over and over while choking back the tears of joy. She was as shocked as shocked can get.

In the end if came down to Brian and Jaron and was amazingly close, but in the end Brian managed to squeak out the win, pocketing a check for $100,000 compliments of Matt Hoover and company at the Biggest Loser Club!

Life away from the ranch wasn’t all good times for the final four, in fact, each and everyone of the final four contestants had a tough time adapting to the new environment and overcoming their old habits. Erik was deathly afraid of relapsing, falling into his old habit of giving up just before the finish line and slipping back into his old ways. Heather was absolutely exhausted, was running on fumes and was losing all motivation and will to continue on. Wylie was working out hard, but was very worried about his eating habits and calorie counting. He treated himself to some pizza one night and ended up eating an entire pizza! Kai, like Heather, was exhausted, but for other reasons. She partied it up a bit too much and ended up regretting it a lot and breaking down at the gym as a result. The contestants had a rough time, but they all worked their asses off – in most cases – literally!

The big moment is nearly at hand, finally, as the final three – yes, I said three – contestants take to the stage! First comes Wylie, looking ripped, then comes Kai, looking gorgeous, and then come Erik, looking in as good a shape as his trainer Bob Harper! But wait a minute… what happened to Heather, she was in the final four. Did she let the stress get to her and drop out, did she freak out, did she gain all the weight back, well, what happened?!

She got pregnant! Heather steps onto the stage, as they announce that she won’t be weighing in with the final three, because she’s 5-months pregnant! It’s awesome that she got pregnant and has another baby on the way, but talk about crappy timing, she just preggered her way out of a chance at $250,000, doh! But, to make up for it, the good people at NBC set her up with a brand new, fully decked out couture baby nursery, which might not be worth $250,000, but is still worth a nice chunk of change. Congrats on the kiddy Heather!

At this point it’s so close to the end I can taste it, but right when they dangle the carrot in front of your face, they pull it away! Remember way back in episode 1 of the Biggest Loser 3? When they weighed in all 50 contestants as a group? Yeah? Well now they’re going to do it again! The goal for all 50 contestants was to lose a total of 4,000lbs, did they pull it off?

They made their goal! All 50 contestants lost a total of 4,281lbs, which works out to 85.62lbs of weight loss per person. How awesome is that?! They may not have all left with money, but they’re all leaving a sans spare tire!

In the Biggest Loser, no one goes home empty handed. He did it! The big man did it! I can’t beleive how absolutely incredible Erik looks now, it really is amazing. He, without a doubt, is the most deserving of all 50 contestants to win and I am so happy that he actually did it. You rule Erik!

Sadly, that brings us to the end of the Biggest Loser 3. Now the only reality TV that’s left and worth watching is Survivor Cook Islands, and that ends this week too!
