November 5th, 2006 – At the end of episode 7 of Amazing Race 10, the 6 remaining teams were held up on the Island of Mauritius off the eastern coast of Africa. Episode 8 kicks off the next leg of the race with all teams heading for Antananarivo, Madagascar, where each team must locate the “black angel”. Though finding the “black angel” proves harder than it sounds for some teams, especially since a recent paint job has turned the black angel into a white angel.

Amazing Race 10 Recap & Info: Salt in the Wounds

Amazing Race 10 – Episode 7

Amazingly enough Dave and Mary managed to come in first place in last weeks episode of the Amazing Race, saving themselves from a 30 minutes penalty and earning themselves a head start for the next leg of the race. The first stop on tonights leg of the race is Mauritius off the eastern cost of Africa. Each team must fly to Mauritius, where they will find a marked car that will contain their next clue.

Dave and Mary are the first team to arrive at Kuwait Airport, where they buy tickets to fly from Kuwait to London, and then from London to Mauritius. The first flight leaves at 8am and arrives in Mauritius at 6am the next morning, one heck of a long and round about way of getting there.

Amazing Race 10 Recap: Peter & Sarah Eliminated

Tonight’s episode of the Amazing Race kicks off with free cellphones and a trip to a mystery location in Kuwait City. All teams mustfind a travel agency, get plane tickets to Kuwait City, fly to Kuwait, hop in a marked car and try to located the mystery location. All each team is given to find the mystery location is a picture on the new camera phone they just received.

Peter and Sarah are the first to get to a travel agency and notice that the agency just happens to have some computers for use. They hop on one of the computers and, through a bit of searching, find out that the mystery location is the Kuwait Towers in Kuwait City.

Though each team started this leg of the race at different times and got to the travel agency at different times, they all managed to get booked on the exact same flight from Mumbai to Kuwait. Nturally, the teams that thought they had a decent lead were none to happy to get on their plane and find all the other teams right there with them.

Once all the teams land in Kuwait City they hop in their marked cars and begin the search for the Kuwait Towers. Amazingly enough every team manages to find the towers relatively easily. Once at the towers, each team had to pull a number off a sign on the wall and wait for the tower to open before starting the challenge. But this wasn’t your usual Amazing Race challenge, this challenge was a little different, and had a few more options then usual.

Amazing Race All-Stars

Rumor has it the producers and people behind CBS’ hit reality TV series the Amazing Race are already developing and creating a new concept for the 11th installment of the reality TV series. Apparently the newest concept cooked up by Amazing Race producers is to go with the All-Stars edition. This doesn’t come as much surprise to me to be honest, as they are currently on the 10th season of the show and have ample teams to choose from to create an All-Stars edition. After all, if Big Brother and Survivor can get away with it, why no the Amazing Race?

Now, I can’t even begin to make an informed guess as to what teams would be featured in an Amazing Race All-Stars edition, the current season is actually the first time I’ve got back into Amazing Race since the very first season. One thing goes for sure though, is that you can almost gaurantee Rob & Amber will be in an Amazing Race All-Stars edition. They are by far the most popular, for better or worse, winners of the Amazing Race. I personally can’t stand either of them and they both annoy the hell out of me, but they’ve generate more attention for the Amazing Race than any other competing team.

Shooting for Amazing Race All-Stars is set to kick off next month and, thus far, the only teams that are some-what known to have agreed to participate are Colin and Christie, and Mirna and Schmirna, which, of course, means nothing to me since I don’t recognize either team.

Stay tuned for more Amazing Race Info!

Amazing Race: No Recap Night

Chrys and I have been running around all day long getting her prepared to head back to Nebraska and, unfortunately, got home half way through Amazing Race. So, instead of recaping the last little bit that I did get to see, I’ll leave it up to the experts.

Rebecca, from Miss604.com, happens to write Amazing Race 10 recaps with some local Vancouver friends over at the Amazing Race 10 blog. So if you’re looking for a recap of tonights episode of the Amazing Race, visit: Amazing Race 10 blog.

Amazing Race 10 Winner: Not Tom & Terry

This weeks episode of Amazing Race 10 finds all contestants held up in Hanoi, Vietnam, waiting for information on the next leg of the race.

Erwin and Godwin, having finished the last leg of the race in first place, are the first to set out on this leg of the race, which see’s them cabbing to the South East corner of Ly Thai To garden. All teams will start this leg of the race with $50,000 dong or Vietnamese dollars.

The order in which teams starts is very important in Amazing Race and can dictate a lot of what happens from leg to leg of the race. The order the teams started in for this leg of the race was:

  1. Erwin & Godwin
  2. James & Tyler
  3. Rob & Kim
  4. Dustin & Kandice
  5. Peter & Sarah
  6. Lyn & Karlyn
  7. David & Mary
  8. Tom & Terry

Once teams arrive at the SE corner of Ly Thai To garden they must listen for an announcement which will tell them where to go next. One by one each team determines the sound is coming from a statue and they crowd around it to hear what it says. The announcement tells them they must take a taxi across the Red River to Ben Xai Cai Lai, where they will find a bus station. They must then take a bus to Ha Long Bay and find Hydroform Tavern.

As usual, since the teams started this leg of the race in the middle of the night, the bus depot is closed, allowing all teams enough time to catch up. All teams are even, as a result, and sit around waiting for the first bus to Ha Long Bay.

Once at Ha Long Bay the teams run into a Roadblock. This roadblock is going to be a toughy and will see one member of each team ascending a straight faced cliff using a mechanical ascending device, sort of like repelling, only the complete opposite.

The first team to arrive at the roadblock is Rob & Kim and Rob elects to scale the rock face. Because they some how managed to get a pretty good lead, Rob is the first to complete the roadblock challenge and learns that the next leg of the race will be for all teams to travel, via motorboat, to Sung Sot Cave.

For whatever reason, when Sarah & Peter arrive at the Roadblock, Sarah elects to scale the wall and wastes valuable time trying to do so, though she eventually manages to power through it and get to the top. That is one tough girl and she doesn’t give up.

Amazing Race 10 Recap: Duke & Lauren Eliminated

This weeks episode of Aamazing Race 10 stars off as usual, with a brief recap of what went down in last weeks Amazing Race 10 episode.

Peter & Sarah were the first team to finish the last leg of the race, as such, they were the first to head out on this leg. They both leave at 6:54am and head for Hanoi, Vietnam where they will search for the “Hanoi Hilton” Prison.

All teams get $0 to start this leg of the race and will be left to rely on whatever money they have left over from previous legs. They are also not allowed to beg or sell anything to make more money. This will certainly prove to be a lot harder for some teams than others.

In order to get to Hanoi, Vietnam via Mongolia all teams must go to the Ghengis Chan hotel where they will buy plane tickets to Vietnam. Big downer for the teams in the lead, the travel agent doesn’t open until 9:00am, at which time almost all the teams have arrived and are battling it out for a spot with one of four vendors, which also doesn’t matter, since everyone gets on the same flight.

Dustin & Kandice cut the line on Tom & Terry and the boys whine and cry like 3 year olds for a few mins before making some snarky comments, giving up and waiting back in line.

All the teams get booked on the 1:00pm flight to Beijing, where they will connect to Hanoi, Vietnam.

Duke & Lauren are falling behind at the airport because, for some stupid reason, Duke decided he wanted to wait for a lady he met on the plane to get help finding where they need to go. Big mistake, as waiting for her to get back to the cab uses up precious time and, to top it off, she wants to be taken to her brothers house before they head to where they need to go. The kicker, her brothers house is 30mins out of the way and they’re no going to have enough money to pay the cab driver. HA! Idiots.

Reality TV: Amazing Race 10 Recap

Tonight’s episode of The Amazing Race 10 starts off as usual, with a brief recap of the last episode, and then we get into the meat of this episode.

All teams start off based on the time they finished the last leg of the race. That means the former models Tyler & James are the first time to head out at 9:04pm. The first leg of the trip sees all teams getting to a bus stop as quick as possible to throw their names on a list for either the 12:00am or 2:00am bus to the capital city of outer Mongolia, where all teams will take in a show at a local temple.

The first five teams to the bus depot get on the 12:00am bus and the second five are left sitting around waiting for the 2:00am bus.

As the teams are sitting around waiting for their bus’ the kentucky team of David & Mary pass the time by socializing with the asians and gays sice they aren’t used to being around or even seeing either. Hooray back-woods Kentucky team! Luckily they don’t seem to be racist or homophobic and actually like the asians and gays, yay!

Peter & Sarah decided to pass the time by trying to get money out of the locals who are infatuated with Sarah’s prostetic leg, alas, they fail miserably and get nothing for their efforts.

The first batch of teams arrive at the Temple, which offers shows every 10 mins. Each team must enter the temple, watch the show and then grab the next bit of info from one of the performers.
