The Biggest Loser Families Episode 4

The Biggest Loser Families Episode 3 took an unexpectedly harsh turn. Only one team ended up below the yellow line. Coleen and Jerry had to decide between them who should go home, and they chose Jerry because he needed time to recover from an injury and also wanted to make sure that his daughter didn’t go down the same path of bad health he has.

Everybody acts surprised by the teams splitting apart. As if they didn’t watch last season.

Vicky’s struggling with injuries and hopes to work around that. She’s unable to run because of her knees, so Bob suggests that she just walk at a high incline. She’s also struggling with her husband. Vicky confronts Brady because she believes he’s holding her back. He doesn’t appear to realize he’s doing anything wrong, but he agrees to cooperate.

Phil and Amy won a visit home the first week, which I thought was silly considering they’d only been at the ranch a day, but now it makes a bit more sense. Now that it’s been about a month, they are getting the chance to use that visit home to see their children.

Amy and Shellay are also cashing in their prize from the first challenge. They get 24 hours alone with Jillian (to go to the gym, of course). Jillian very quickly loses patience with Shellay, although Amy seems to be doing fine. Coleen and pink aren’t too happy being left on their own for a day, as it may not bode well for them at the weigh in.

The challenge looks like an endurance challenge. They see chains and water. They’ll need to hold on for as long as they can. As the water is drained out of the tank, it will be more difficult to hang on. Very simple challenge to put together, but an interesting twist on the hanging on endurance challenge. Reward is a care package from home and a 3 day pass to Universal Studios Hollywood. Renee is the first person to drop at 40 minutes. Coleen is the next one out. Heba’s out around 50 minutes. Michelle drops at 58 minutes as she realizes she’s not going to win. Ed’s out at 83 minutes. Around an hour and a half, they have to pick one arm. Shellay is eliminated after using her other arm. Amy P falls, followed closely by Phil. It’s brown against Amy C. Brady’s the next one to fall. After more than 105 minutes, Amy falls, and Vicky wins the challenge. They agree to give a care package to second place Amy and Shellay.

Jillian’s women didn’t bother doing their homework (extra cardio on their own). None of them seem to care. She wants to know what’s going on with them, particularly compared to people like Ali and Brittany from last year. She begins screaming at them and telling them they don’t have what it takes. Amy C finds this all very amusing, but the rest of them seem to be getting the hint.

Because of the Presidential debate, that’s it for tonight, but there’s a special episode on tomorrow.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another recap of The Biggest Loser Families episode 5, which airs Wednesday at 9/8c on NBC.
