Biggest Loser Recap: Amy Eliminated!

In an interesting turn that proved to be a challenge for the Biggest Loser competitors, the gym was completely closed for this weeks episode, though that didn’t keep bobby from jarring the window open and trying to crawl through. Too bad Bob and Kim came running down the road just then, catching him in the act and telling him, and everyone else, that this week’s episode of the Biggest Loser would be gym free. How interesting!

So, with the gym closed, the biggest loser blue team, led by trainer Bob, takes to the outdoors for their workout. Meanwhile, the red team, led by trainer Kim, takes to the indoors and works the stairs for all their good. Kim tells everyone on the team that she’s amazed how much of a difference she can now see in everyone. Everyone, blue and red team alike, are looking great, and Kim is now seeing it in her red team. If that wasn’t enough of a pick-me-up for the red team, Pam manages to get herself into a size LARGE shirt quite comfortably. She hasn’t been able to wear a large, or anything that doesn’t include the work Extra for a long time and she is super excited and, thankfully enough, the other members of her team are excited too.

While training the blue team outdoors, Bob notices that something seems to be holing Erik back and tries to give him a pep talk. Bob really focuses in on getting Erik’s mind cleared and getting him focused on working hard and dropping the pounds. It even looks like it may have worked.

Biggest Loser Club at Home Contestant

Linda, from Idaho, was one of the oldest people to try out for Biggest Loser at more than 50 years of age. Don’t be fooled though, Linda didn’t let her age get her down. She came to the ranch weighing 214lbs and now weighs 167lbs, for a total weight loss of 47lbs. That’s fantastic for anyone, especially someone more that 50 years old! The older you get, the harder it is to lose weight, but she still managed to kick some ass. Fantastic work Linda!

Both the red and blue biggest loser teams take a bit of a road trip to a local fast food joint called El Pollo Loco to pick up some grub. Both trainers realize that the contestants are going to be faced with challenges like fast food outside of the biggest loser ranch and decide to take them out for fast food to teach them exactly how they should eat at fast food restaurants.

Biggest Loser Reward Challenge

This weeks challenge takes place in the infamous, world renowned Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The coliseum has quite a history and is the how field for the top college football team, the USC Trojans. It’s certainly an imposing sight, to say the least.

Reward: $2,500 in Starter performance gear.

This week’s reward challenge sees each team competing in a “wave” competition. It might not sound bad, but it’s certainly one of the hardest challenges they have had to perform to date. Each team must run to the very top of the coliseum, each sit in a seat, stand up, do the wave, move over one seat, sit back down, and repeat the entire process over and over again. Doesn’t sound to hard right? Well, they have to do it 510 times, and then fine the strength in their legs to run all the way down the stairs and to the middle of the football field. Ouch! Luckily they decided to be nice and give eat team some motivation, their trainers Bob and Kim.

Red gets out to an early lead in the challenge, while biggest loser contestant Erik is slowing the blue team down a lot, forcing them to fall behind. Red is moving a lot faster than the blue team, but that doesn’t last for long. Ken can’t hack it anymore and not only stops, but flat out quits and refuses to go any further. Bad move man! In doing so, the blue team completely caught up and passed the red team without a problem. Even though they knew they couldn’t win, the remaining contestants of the biggest loser red team continued on with the challenge, finishing off like troopers. Now that’s a great sign of good attitude, nothing like the red team used to be like. Because of Ken quitting, the blue team comes out on top the winners! Bad for red, good for blue.

Once back at the biggest loser ranch, both teams enter the kitchen to a surprise. Chef Devin Alexander is standing in the kitchen waiting for them. Looks like they’re going to get a lesson in healthy eating, with a yummy twist. Chef Devin Alexander teaches both the red and blue teams how to make healthy versions of pizza and hamburgers, classic fat people food. I have to admit, they looked really good and everyone seemed to really enjoy them. Good looking recipes, I may just have to give them a go myself.

Since the gym is closed for this episode, the last chance workout becomes a whole new exercise in creativity and self abuse. Kim took the red team outside to do some pretty general work, while Bob kept his team inside the biggest loser ranch and had them move the entire contents of one room all the way down the hall into another room, and then back again. That’s one hell of a way to work up a sweat and get some exercise. Anyone that’s had to move can attest to that.

Biggest Loser Weigh In

Red Team

  • 223lbs – Kai (down 5lbs)
  • 301lbs – Ken (down 6lbs)
  • 218lbs – Pam (down 3lbs)
  • 193lbs – Heather (down 3lbs)
  • 255lbs – Wylie (down 9lbs)
  • Total Weight Loss: 26lbs (2.14%)

Blue Team

  • 273lbs – Bobby (down 4lbs)
  • 308lbs – Marty (down 7lbs)
  • 255lbs – Brian (down 6lbs)
  • 219lbs – Amy (down 4lbs)
  • 351lbs – Erik (down 7lbs)
  • Total Weight Loss: 28lbs (1.95%)

The red team comes out with the lower weight loss total in lbs, but, because their overall team weight is lower, their weight loss percentage is higher and they are the biggest loser weigh in winners!

Brian again manages to be the biggest loser, with the highest weigh loss on the blue team.

Biggest Loser Elimination

  1. Marty votes for Erik
  2. Amy votes for Erik
  3. Erik votes for Amy
  4. Bobby votes for Amy
  5. Brian votes for Amy

In an incredibly shocking decision, Amy is eliminated from the biggest loser ranch! I can’t believe they got rid of her, though they did make a decent case for booting her over Erik. Even if Erik hasn’t been losing much, he’s a big guy and has a lot of weigh to lose, where as Amy has lost a lot and it will be much harder for her to put up the big numbers. Still, hard to believe they kicked her out. She was totally blind sided.

Biggest Loser Club Post Show Info

Amy came into the biggest loser ranch weighing 260lbs and left weighing 219lbs. He lost a total of 41lbs, more than any other girl at the ranch and she didn’t let her elimination get her down. From the time she started at the biggest loser ranch to the airing of tonight episode, she has lost a total of 88lbs and has run 2 triathlons. She is a mere 12lbs from her weight loss goal of 100lbs. How incredible is that? I can’t wait to see her at the finale, I think she’s got a damn good chance of taking the prize, she’s just done so much, and she’s looking fantastic.

  1. I think the Blue team’s math was off. If a 200 pound person lost 10 pounds and a 400 pound person lost 10 pounds, the ten pounds is a greater percentage of the lighter person’s weight than the heavier person, so why would they say that Amy being the lightest would result in less percentage weight loss unless they can’t multiply.

  2. My only thought is that since Amy has lost so much weight already she’s going to be putting up smaller numbers every week as it will get harder and harder for her to lose big numbers. Where as Erik is still a big guy and, if he works hard, should be able to put up big numbers every week.

    That’s my only guess.
