Survivor Cook Islands Recap
This weeks episode of Survivor kicks off with a sulky and emo sounding Ozzy, complaining about how he feels like an outcast in the new tribe. I have to say, I can see why, he’s the only member of his original tribe left on his new tribe and he doesn’t really seem to fit with anyone else in the tribe. Although, you’d figure he might be a little more comfortable, he seemed to manage in Playboys Foursome no problem, I’m sure he can manage Survivor.
Candice returns from Exile island and the lazy ass boys on Rarotonga make a pact to stick together. I guess they don’t realize that the girls out number them, but they’ll realize that soon enough.
Survivor Cook Islands Reward Challenge
Reward: 3 Blankets, 2 Pillows and 1 Hammock.
- Two tribe members attached together by a rope.
- The remaining tribe members must push, pull and drag the teathered tribe members through an obstacle course.
- Once through the course, one member must swim out to a marker, dive down and retreive a ships wheel decoder.
- Once back on land the team must use the ships wheel to successfully decode a sentence.
Everything starts off as all square and both teams manage to stay even through the second portion of the obstacle course. It isn’t until Rarotonga gets hung up on their ropes that Aitutaki breaks into a pretty big lead.
Ozzy for Aitutaki busts it into the water and is back on the beach, starting to decode before Rarotonga has even managed to get themselves untangled. But Rarotonga’s luck runs out briefly as they get stumped by the puzzle and Aitutaki recovers fully. Both teams are scrambling to decode the sentence, but only one team manages to pull it off first and Aitutaki walks away with the win and some comfy bedding. But before they walk away as survivor reward challenge winners, they send Adam of Rarotonga to Exile Island.
Ozzy has become the provider and super fisherman for Aitutaki, catching 9 of the 11 fish he and Jonathan managed to bring in. He even ended up nailing a nice big one that should provided lots of yummy fishy foodness.
Nate of Rarotonga has apparently developed a bit of a thing for Parvati and has promised to protect her as much as he can. To bad he’s going to be needing her protection pretty soon. Parvati’s goal in the came is to play the temptress and string along the boys and man does it look to be working. Good work girl, that’s how you rock Survivor!
Back at Aitutaki everyone’s waling around in the forrest when Jonathan spots a Boobie nest. Thinking the boobie in the nest might be protecting yummy eggs, Cao Boi lets his “inner kid” get the best of him as he scales the tree, pisses off the boogie and pushes the nest out of the tree into the bushes below. No eggs, but Jonathan does notice that there was an itty bitty baby boogie in the nest, no more than a day old, it still has the icky coating of stuff from being born all over it. Poor little boobie. Jonathan feels so bad he can hardly keep himself from crying, so Cao Boi puts the nest back in it’s place with the baby boobie in it and lets the mommy boobie take over. Good work boys, you don’t eat cute little baby boobies. Although it looked like Ozzy was pretty tempted. Coming from Playboy’s Foursome, Ozzy has likely eaten his fair share of boobies in his life.
Survivor Immunity Challenge
Reward: Immunity. Duh!
Adam returns from exile island and joins his team for the immunity challenge.
- The entire tribe must assemble a stretcher made of puzzle pieces
- Then a few tribe members must run through the jungle to the other beach with the stretcher
- Where one tribe member runs into the water, swims out to a marker and free’s a fellow tribe member from shackles
- Both tribe members swim back on a life preserver
- The formerly shackled tribe member flops onto the stretcher and the remaining members run back through the jungle to the other beach, carrying the stretcher
- Once back to the other beach, the remaining tribe members attempt to start a fire big enough to reach and burn a rope, raising their tribes flag and symbolizing their victory
Rarotonga is the first to take to the lead, assembling their stretcher and heading for the jungle faster than Aitutaki.
Once both teams have reached the other beach, Ozzy makes his huge move and recovers all the ground and then some that Aitutaki had lost. Man that boy is a beast in the water, he’s going to be a contestant to watch out for in this season of Survivor.
Ozzy is the first to reach and free the shackled tribe member, getting back to the beach with a strong lead.
Once back to the starting point, Cao Boi works his fire building magic, being the first person to start a fire. Rarotonga can barely manage to get a spark from their flint, or even hit it, for that matter, as Jenny manages to nail herself with the machete, giving herself a pretty good hack, but she toughs it out. Looked pretty bad with how it was bleeding, but she powered through it no problem. Pretty impressive actually.
Cao Boi and Aitutaki end up walking away with this challenge, building a roaring fire before Rarotonga even manages to get a decent spark.
Once back to camp, Stephanie makes the stupid remark that she is the weakest link and that losing the immunity challenge was completely her fault. Huge mistake! No matter how bad you screw up in Survivor, you never admit to it or feel down on yourself for it, if you do, you become target #1 very quickly.
Rightly so, Stephanie becomes the inital target for the boy town alliance, but the girls aren’t ready to roll over just yet. Some wheeling and dealing goes down and all girls, excluding Parvati, agree to align together and boot J.P. Parvati doesn’t seem to think it’s the right time to do it, but says she’ll think on it. Being unsure of Parvati’s stance, the other girls work on Brad in the hopes of reinforcing their vote.
Survivor Tribal Council
- Stephanie votes for J.P.
- J.P. votes for Stephanie
- Christina votes for J.P.
- Nate votes for Stephanie
- The remaining not revealed
Jeff Probst returned to his makeshift podium with the votes jar in hand and announced the results:
- Stephanie
- J.P.
- Stephanie
- J.P
- J.P
- J.P
- J.P
J.P. is the newest tribe member to be voted off of Survivor Cook Islands.
J.P. was totally broaded sided by this voted and quite obviously got worked. Not only did the girls manage to convince Parvati to stick with them, they also managed to get Brad on their side by the looks of things. Nate and Adam better watch their backs, it looks like they have a 5 strong alliance looking at them like pork chops. I highly doubt that those 5 will manage to stick together though, I can’t recall a season of Survivor where an alliance that big managed to stick together for more than a few episodes, and I don’t see it happening in Survivor Cook Islands either.
