Multi-Millionaire To Build First Inflatable Motel In Space

In “people with too much money and time on their hands” news:
Apparently multi-millionaire Robert Bigelow is investing $500 million of spare change in a project that hopes to see the first inflatable motel in space. Yup, I’m not kidding here, this is a real story folks.
A 1/3 scale model called Genesis I was launched atop a Russian rocket in July and has been successfully orbiting the earth ever since.
Robert Bigelow said the second full-size version is being created right now and is scheduled to be in orbit within 5 years, seeing it’s first paying customers in the next decade.
The cost to take a week long trip to Bigelow’s inflatable space motel? A mere $8 million a head.
I’ve got to admit, even though I think this is ridiculous, there is part of me thinking that it’s actually pretty damn cool too, lol.

Ridiculous would be if we didn’t try.

Ridiculous? Brilliant is more like it, he could easily make 10 times that much is he succeed renting out space to smaller countries that can’t even come close to getting on the “International Space Station” This open up space in an unprecedented way. With Billionaires like Musk, Bezo, and Branson building rockets the need for a destination is evident. Visionary, I would call it.
