Prison Break Season 3 Episode 3

In Prison Break Season 3 episode 2, Michael got Whistler out of his hiding place and cleared his name with Lechero. Now he just needs to figure out how to break him out of prison. Stick around for another live blog. After that, don’t miss the live blog of Heroes Season 2 episode 2.

Link’s in his room looking through the bird book with names and numbers. He gets the pictures he asked for of LJ and Sara, then hears a noise and turns around to find Sucre, who just wants some money and isn’t interested in helping.

Scofield offers to help Lechero out with Sona. Lechero makes it perfectly clear it’s his show and he doesn’t want to be bothered. After that, Link goes to visit Michael with the picture of Sara, pointing to a specific spot in the newspaper, which they believe tells them where she’s being held. Michael tells him it’s already been three days, and he’s got nothing, so if he can’t break out, Lincoln’s going to have to break her out of where she’s being held.

Michael asks Whistler who he is, and he says he’s just a fisherman. He then asks McGrady for a cell phone, which only Lechero has access to. Link tells Susan she must let Michael speak to Sara, and that it’s a demand, not a request. Scofield turns to a reliable old friend to get the phone, T-Bag. He threatens to tell about his crimes if he doesn’t help him out.

Whistler’s girlfriend Sophia stops by and is happy he’s still alive. She tells him that Scofield’s brother took the book. She asks who that is, but he tells he tells her as little as possible. She asks what she can do, and he says nothing.

Whistler gets angry that Link has the book and treats Michael like the enemy. The response he gets is that Sara’s all that matters, and that he doesn’t care about him or his book.

Mahone starts going crazy without his little pills. He meets with his public defender, who tells him his trial date is a year away, “great news” since it’s less than the average of two and a half years. He says that he’s got a guy on the inside (Scofield) who will testify on his behalf, which he’s told doesn’t matter because it’s one inmate taking the fall for another. So Mahone asks for his pills to be smuggled into the prison. Needless to say, this doesn’t go over well.

T-Bag unplugged the phone so it was dead and still needed to be charged. After Lechero says to leave it to charge and heads off for his haircut, T-Bag grabs it and gives it to Michael, telling him he’s got less than half an hour. He calls Link, but Link lets him know Susan hasn’t even agreed to let Sara talk to him yet. Link tells her to stop pretending she’s in charge because she needs them. They get their way, and Sara calls Michael. She tells him it’s a lost cause but then gives him a vague clue indicating that the original interpretation of the first clue was wrong. She’s forced to hang up, and then Michael dashes to put the phone back where it belongs. He’s almost caught by Lechero, but T-Bag interrupts and lets him get away. Because the phone wasn’t placed back in the charger all the way, though, Lechero gets suspicious and redials, calling Link, who hangs up.

Sophia pulls a knife on Link, who tells her what’s really going on and says they’re on the same side and she should talk to her boyfriend. He then hops in a cab to try to figure out what Sara saw. He’s looking around trying to find her, and she sees him and throws something out a window to break it. He charges into the building and proceeds to beat the crap out of people, but they manage to get LJ and Sara into a van and take them away. After that, he breaks the bad news to Michael but tells him it’s got to be possible to break out because otherwise they wouldn’t have gone through all the trouble of setting this up.

Whistler explains his story to Michael and tells him he needs the book to plan what to do after they escape. Michael tells him his only concern is getting him out of there and that what happens afterward is not his concern. I’m sure that will change soon enough.

Lechero’s other men start to harass T-Bag and say they’ve got him figured out. In retaliation, he tells Lechero that they’re trying to take him down because they’re not getting their cut.

Link gets back to a passed out Sucre and gets a call from Susan. She tells him he’s never going to try anything like that again. Just so they’re clear, she tells him to check in the garage, where he finds a box. What’s in the box? We’ll find out next week. What do you think is in the box?

Prison Break Season 3 Episode 2

Prison Break Season 3 episode 1 primarily focused on the horrible conditions of Sona, the prison Michael ended up in with Mahone, Bellick, and T-Bag. They dangled a bit ray of hope that he would be getting out by the end of the episode, but we knew better than that. Easy exit means no escape. At the end of the episode, it was revealed that he had to help break out James Whistler, and LJ and Sara were being used as leverage to ensure his cooperation. Welcome to another live blog of Prison Break. When this show’s over, stick around for the Heroes Season 2 premiere recap.

The show starts with everyone waiting in line to get rationed water. One of Lechero’s men starts a fight, which ends in the water barrel being accidentally pushed over. This is a serious problem. People can live weeks without food, but there’s only so long a man can go without water. The potential of another riot is seriously high if this doesn’t get resolved quickly.

Scofield inquires about Whistler and is informed everybody’s looking for him, as he’s disappeared, having been accused of killing the mayor’s son. The message that was hidden in the dead body’s clothes has also been hidden in Michael’s pocket, both by Bellick, who ironically is Michael’s only hope of finding Whistler. This is what makes it so hard to tell good from bad in this show, but also what makes it so interesting.

Bellick tips Michael off to look in the sewers. It’s not going to be as easy as he’d hoped because he must break Whistler out without anyone knowing about it, since he’s a dead man if he gets spotted. Later, we find out that the mayor has promised freedom for whoever kills Whistler.

Due to the political nature of the crime, they’re going for the brothers because it’s the only option of getting Whistler out, as it’s going in through the backdoor. Link is informed by his contact, “Susan B. Anthony,” that she knows he’s going to threaten her life, but he tells her he’s going not going after if something goes wrong, implying he’ll wipe out her family. He says the breakout can’t be done in a week, but she doesn’t care.

Scofield promises to help Bellick with his problems (starvation, being half naked, etc.) in exchange for keeping quiet about Whistler. Will they work together, or will one or the other turn the first chance they get?

Sucre shows up with a gun looking for Maricruz. He threatens to shoot Bellick, who then reveals he just conned him and that he made Maricruz run off, so she is not actually locked up. He expects the favor be returned by helping him get out of jail, but Sucre just runs off.

So much for the secret. Mahone also discovers Whistler. Yeah, he’ll be along for the ride as well. We later find out that Mahone had a deal with Lechero to bring him Whistler. Michael’s fully willing to break him out of there… or die trying.

Bellick decides to use his knowledge of Whistler in another way. He chooses to rat him out rather than working with Scofield and heads to T-Bag, who’s gotten in good with Lechero. By the time Michael gets down there, Mahone’s already broken Whistler out of his hiding place.

Michael tries to reason with Alex, but he doesn’t want to hear any of it. Whistler runs down the other end of the sewer before any action is able to be taken anyway. Scofield then also goes to talk to Lechero, where T-Bag informs him Michael’s a snake and can’t be trusted. Michael then heads out to the courtyard to meet up with McGrady, the young kid who seems to like him. He asks for some alcohol. After getting that, he asks for a lot of plastic bags and tells McGrady it will be well worth his while.

The woman from the first episode who grabbed the note from the dead body is Sophia Lugo, and she says she’s James Whistler’s girlfriend. Following up on the clue on the note, Link meets up with her at Banco de Versailles as she’s withdrawing Whistler’s belongings. He takes what she got, a book about birds, and she doesn’t seem to have a clue what he’s talking about in terms of his and Michael’s involvement in the situation, or at least that’s how she wants it to appear to whoever’s watching (and they know somebody is).

Alex catches up with Whistler, insisting he’s better off going with him. He drags him to the courtyard, where a riot due to lack of water is pending. Just as things are getting out of control, Scofield finishes working his magic, lights the alcohol filled bags, and causes water to come flying out through the pipes, giving everybody plenty of water, making them temporarily forget they hate each other. Lechero is very pleased with this and agrees to hand Whistler over to Michael.

Sucre decides against going back to Chicago to make sure his family is safe, following Lincoln’s advice. He promises Maricruz he’ll find her when he gets his life together.

When Link gets back to the hotel, Susan’s there waiting for the bird guide, threatening to kill him if he doesn’t give it to her. Prepared for this, he hands her a fake one, then pulls the real one out of his other pocket after she leaves.

At the end of the episode, Whistler asks Michael how they’re getting out of there, receiving a response that he has no idea.

Prison Break Season 3 Episode 1

At the conclusion of the second season of Prison Break, Lincoln Burrows was set free, but Michael Scofield found himself back behind bars in Panama. We know he’s gonna break out. It’s just a question of when and how. Some of you may have already watched the first 17 minutes of tonight’s episode online, but either way, there’s still a lot of ground to cover.

The show starts in the middle of a mass of unruly bodies. Lincoln is talking to a night clerk about his brother being innocent and informs him he’s being held in Sona. He informs Link that Sona is the worst of the worst, the guards left a year ago because of a riot, that the government doesn’t get involved, and what goes in doesn’t come out unless it’s dead. Back to the mass of bodies, we see a fight and an ensuing death, where the victim’s body is just left where it falls. The counsellor in the morning requests a move to a facility that’s more moderate.

Lincoln asks about the money, which unsurprisingly seems to have disappeared. He is advised that Michael will be free but still face charges in the US.

Bellick looks rather pitiful. He asks for a mess hall and some water and tells the wrong person to bite him. He’s told to drink the muddy water, which gets stomped in his face. He is befriended by a prisoner who doesn’t have very good news about what life is like there.

Alex Mahone is in there with them, and he’s feeling guilty but to make matters worse, also out of pills. He wants to work with Michael, but the thought of working with the man who killed his father doesn’t sit well with him.

Link visits Michael in Sona. His question after finding he’ll be transferred is about Sara Tancredi, but we know Sara’s not returning.

Michael is informed that it’s orientation time, which he’s not interested in but is informed he doesn’t have a choice. The man who arranges this orientation seems to be very much in charge of the place. He’s well aware of the prison break. When he approaches the guy standing next to Alex, the guy proceeds to pee his pants, receiving a reaction of having his ass kicked, to which Scofield responds, “I think he gets the message,” completely unafraid of the guy attempting to intimidate everyone.

And in walks T-Bag. The gang’s all here, and it’s unlikely any of them will be pleased to see this guy.

Michael receives an offer from an attorney “of sorts” of assistance to breakout once he gets past the wall. He promptly walks away. He’s then attacked by a guy who accuses him of stealing from him, and upon checking his area, it’s realized that he did, or at least that’s what someone wants everybody to think.

The prisoner who was Bellick’s friend, if there is such a thing in a place like this, finally gets fed up with the conditions of not being able to eat anything and jumps out the window and proceeds to run. He is shot and killed, a clear sign of how they treat people who attempt to escape. This is about the only involvement the government has in this place.

A woman matching Sara’s description has been found… at the morgue. Lincoln goes there and confirms it’s not her. I don’t think they’ll kill her off just yet. They’ll probably at least leave the window open.

Michael is told there’s a system in Sona and that he’d better adhere to it, a system where they must fight to resolve their disputes. He then tells the man who thinks he’s in charge that he knows he set him up because he’s the only one with a problem with him.

Link gets a call from his son LJ, who just so happens to be in Panama, too. He says he got his number from Sara.

Before the fight, Alex offers some advice: fight dirty and go for the kneecap. These two will be on the same team eventually, perhaps starting now. When the fight begins, Scofield yells he’s not going to fight, then follows it up by going for the kneecap, making quick work of his opponent. He attempts to turn around but is told that only one man leaves alive.

Michael knocks him down again and tries to walk away again. At this point, a knife is thrown in from the crowd. Mahone jumps into the fight because Michael was about to be stabbed from behind, and he obviously has no problem killing the guy, justifying his interference by saying that weapons are against the rules.

Outside the gate, a woman screams that she wants to bury the dead men. Earlier, Bellick was forced underground, where he met a man (James Whistler) who asked him to help him out in exchange for food. He handed him a cryptic message that was stuffed in one of the dead man’s pockets. As it turned out, the man looking for help is the one Scofield was approached about earlier, and he has to stay in prison to break him out (big surprise) because LJ and Sara have been kidnapped as leverage.

This was a great to start to what I expect to be another great season.

Sarah Wayne Callies Not Returning to Prison Break

This had been rumored for a while, but The Ausiello Report confirmed that Sarah Wayne Callies will not be returning to Prison Break season 3 in what had been a key role as Michael’s love interest, Dr. Sara Tancredi.

This follows on the heels of Sarah giving birth to her first child, though her manager insisted for weeks that she would be returning to the show. There’s not a great deal to this story just yet, and it’s not entirely clear why she would be permanently eliminated from the show rather than just being written out for a few months or even just using a body double.
