American Idol Season 9 Episode 14

The top 12 girls competed in American Idol Season 9 Episode 13, and tonight it’s time for the top 12 boys.

Todrick Hall
Song: Since You Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson (a completely unrecognizeable version)
Ellen: Love that you did something different with the song, although the singing wasn’t the greatest.
Randy: Didn’t even sound like the same song. Completely obliterated that.
Kara: Undeniable that you are a performer. Don’t have to go that crazy.
Simon: Came over as a dancer trying to sing. Crazy arrangement. Murdered the original song. Verging on stupid.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-01

Aaron Kelly
Song: Here Comes Goodbye by Rascal Flatts
Simon: Quite a good performance. Not confident.
Kara: Favorite kind of contestant.
Randy: You can definitely do this.
Ellen: Gonna be here a long time. Love how humble you are.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-02

Jermaine Sellers
Song: Get Here by Oleta Adams
Ellen: Felt more like a performance than feeling the song. Trying too hard.
Simon: Tried to do too much vocally.
Kara: Make the runs meaningful so they impact the audience. Felt a little old.
Simon: Kind of song that somebody in their 50s would request in a cocktail bar. Sounded like screaming in the middle. Totally blown opportunity.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-03

Tim Urban
Song: Apologize by One Republic
Simon: Made the right decision the first time by not putting you through.
Kara: Music overpowered you.
Randy: Wrong song. None of it worked.
Ellen: Couldn’t hit those high notes.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-04

Joe Munoz
Song: You and I Both by Jason Mraz
Ellen: Sounded really good. Great stage presence.
Randy: Worked it out.
Kara: Had a few issues with the chorus, but the best so far tonight.
Simon: Not a star. Okay. Safe. Forgettable.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-05

Tyler Grady
Song: American Woman by The Guess Who
Simon: People are going to remember that. Partly for the wrong reasons. Come over as somebody who’s gone to pretend to be a rock star school (TM).
Kara: Playing too true to the 70s obsession.
Randy: Style over substance.
Ellen: Lacking the charisma of the rock stars from decades ago.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-06

Lee DeWyze
Song: Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol
Ellen: Went off a tiny bit, but love the tone of your voice.
Randy: A little too rangey. Too pop kind of fusiony kind of rock kind of thing.
Kara: Almost made the song unrecognizeable in parts.
Simon: Best performance by a mile. Naturally good singer.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-07

John Park
Song: God Bless the Child by Billie Holiday
Simon: Have got to have an incredible voice to take over that song, and you haven’t. Very flat and zero emotion. Pointless.
Kara: Loungey. Sleepy. Almost indulgent.
Randy: Got a voice, but doesn’t suit this kind of thing.
Ellen: Sounded great. Not something that’s gonna get a lot of young girls to vote.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-08

Michael Lynche
Song: This Love by Maroon 5
Ellen: Personality is just bursting out.
Randy: Picked the energy up.
Kara: Would be more critical about this performance if there were a lot of great performances.
Simon: Like the support act before the main act.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-09

Alex Lambert
Song: Wonderful World by James Morrison
Simon: Most uncomfortable performance of the night.
Kara: All there, but just not completely together.
Randy: Hope you stick around.
Ellen: Just not ripe enough.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-10

Casey James
Song: Heaven by Bryan Adams
Kara: Eye candy but also ear candy.
Randy: Really liked you. Great song choice.
Simon: Absolutely chose the right song. Honest. Severe. Likeable.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-11

Andrew Garcia
Song: Sugar, We’re Goin Down by Fall Out Boy
Simon: Too serious, too indulgent, not original enough. Disappointed.
Kara: Strange rendition. Straight Up bought you a lot of time.
Randy: Arrangement was really strange.
Ellen: Want to see you open up more.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-12

American Idol Season 9 Episode 13

Paige Miles
Song: It’s All Right Now by Free
Simon: Best voice out of all the girls, but wouldn’t have chosen that song.
Kara: Brilliant song choice. Ridiculous voice.
Randy: Not the right song, but showed a powerful voice.
Ellen: So there. Sounded fantastic.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-01

Ashley Rodriguez
Song: Happy by Leona Lewis
Kara: Credit for taking on such a big song, but there were definitely moments that were not great.
Randy: Not good to be compared to those big singers.
Ellen: Take a risk. Do something that’s just not safe.
Simon: Clumsy. Going backwards. Could be in trouble.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-02

Janell Wheeler
Song: What about Love by Heart
Randy: Song choice didn’t work, but still like the voice.
Ellen: Love that song and thought you sang it very well.
Simon: 100% effort. Delivered 65%. Will survive this week.
Kara: Way too big a song.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-03

Lilly Scott
Song: Fixing a Hole by The Beatles
Ellen: That’s what we’re talking about.
Simon: Best so far. Still not feeling much star power.
Kara: Believable. Felt comfortable.
Randy: Like a real indie artist. Not affected by what people think.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-04

Katelyn Epperly
Song: Oh Darlin by The Beatles
Simon: Some messy moments, but quirky, interesting, good choice of song. Like you a lot.
Kara: Know your voice very well. Really know what you’re doing. Improved the song. Makeover isn’t helping.
Randy: Paid attention to the tone, which is the real art of singing.
Ellen: Liked it a lot, but it felt pushed.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-05

Haeley Vaughn
Song: I Wanna Hold Your Hand by The Beatles
Kara: Some issues from a technical standpoint, but it was fun.
Randy: High notes are not quite as pleasing as they could be.
Ellen: Shining presence on stage.
Simon: Verging on terrible. Never stopped smiling, so the vocals were all over the place.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-06

Lacey Brown
Song: Landslide by Fleetwood Mac
Randy: Not the right song. Terrible.
Ellen: You’re better than that.
Simon: Quite depressing. Kind of indulgent. Boring.
Kara: Hopefully America gives you one more shot.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-07

Michelle Delamor
Song: Fallen by Alicia Keys
Ellen: Fantastic. Seemed so easy.
Simon: Very professional singer. Sounded close to the original, but no wow moments.
Kara: Great when hit right.
Randy: Pretty good job, but take some risks.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-08

Didi Benami
Song: The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson
Simon: Good singer, but too many people are trying to sound like the same person. Indulgent, dreary.
Kara: At least made some changes to the original recording.
Randy: Sounded great. So sleepy.
Ellen: Low key for a first impression.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-09

Siobhan Magnus
Song: Wicked Game by Chris Isaak
Kara: Kinda liked you on that song.
Randy: Reach for bigger things.
Ellen: Loved it.
Simon: Liked the song. Not anywhere near the Stevie Wonder song.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-10

Crystal Bowersox
Song: One Hand in My Pocket by Alanis Morissette
Randy: One of my favorites. Original. Honest. Doesn’t matter what the song is.
Ellen: Add something fresh to the show.
Simon: Good, but there are thousands doing this outside subway stations.
Kara: Good. Not as good as in the past.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-11

Katie Stevens
Song: Feeling Good by Michael Buble
Ellen: Good, but conservative for a 17 year old.
Simon: Like mum and dad dressed you and gave you the song. Started to become annoying.
Kara: All over the place, but you have a natural gift.
Randy: Just too old.
Number: 1-866-IDOLS-12

The Bachelor Season 14 Episode 8

Before we get into the finale next week, tonight the women tell all.

After half an hour of filler, Kathryn, Emily, Channy, Ella, Ashley, Valishia, Ashleigh, Corrie, Christina, Jessie, Elizabeth, Michelle, Ali, and Gia have returned.

Ashleigh says she planned to trip when she got out of the limo.

What was it about Vienna? Ella says that she’s only 23, meaning that little switch in her brain controlling when something is or is not appropriate has not yet formed. Gia continues to defend her, although she, too, had run ins with her on the show.

Elizabeth’s weird game that screwed herself over is something she says she’s never done before. She realizes why it looked like a game. And stupid.

Next up, a conversation about Rozlyn. It seemed to me that they were being awful careful about what they said, so as to avoid a lawsuit, leaving us with nothing but excessively vague accusations that we were left to assume meant something sexual. But it won’t hurt them if all the girls tear into her.

Her roommate Gia got to see where she was (or was not) at night, that being the bedroom. Ashleigh saw some cuddling and kissing on the forehead. Jessie seems to be the only one who saw anything worth talking about, claiming she saw them making out.

Before we get to Rozlyn’s side of the story, it’s time for Gia to talk about her journey. She knows what went wrong. Although she knew she fell in love with him, she was unable to vocalize that. With that said, she’s learned that she has to be more open about her feelings. Maybe even proposing at their first meeting like Michelle was ready to do.

Michelle, who had a breakdown throughout the entire process, is next. She has no regrets. Really? If she were in his shoes, she would have done the same thing as he did when he finally got rid of her, having for some unexplained reason kept her around past the first night. Seeing as she got dumped by Jake fairly early, Michelle has now decided that it’s not possible to find love through this process. Ali disagrees. Michelle’s defense for her behavior: editing. She also denies needing therapy.

Ali, who departed in order to keep her job (that storyline’s getting old), is back to discuss the decision that she considers a mistake. She still misses Jake sometimes. Her decision was based on the theory that, if he loved her, she could leave and he’d still hunt her down later, show or no show. Work is where she goes to hide from her emotions, so that’s where she went. She couldn’t run the risk of being unemployed, although if she could change things now, she probably would, economic meltdown be damned. Turning to her obsession with Vienna, that’s something she regrets, acknowledging that she was mean.

Now it’s time for Rozlyn. She’s entering the show the same way she departed: being escorted by security. She denies that anything physical happened at any point. It was just a friendship. So why did she not defend herself? She was never accused of anything. Well, she was, but it was really quite vague. Although Rozlyn says that she was not allowed to call her son until she got the producer’s phone, Ella and Valishia say they had no difficulty. Chris keeps asking if anything physical happened, apparently hoping he will get a different answer at some point. Rozlyn wants to know what this physical relationship supposedly was, seeing as Chris has never been clear about it. He plans to be clear about it… after the break.

He’d like to bring the girls in. Christina saw cuddling and excessive thigh touching. Jessie reiterates her story about kissing. Ella tells the story about how Rozlyn was on all fours one night, refusing to go to bed until the producer put her to bed. Rozlyn acknowledges having slept on the couch, but just one night. Valishia says Rozlyn was not anywhere in the house one night.

Rozlyn makes the point I’ve been thinking all along. If something was supposedly going on, surely they’d have some video footage. There are cameras everywhere. Chris’ claim is that there is a lot of downtime, and the producers know when the cameras will not be on. Or any other staff around for that matter?

Despite all these very G-rated accusations, I’m still having trouble buying what went on, mostly because I still don’t understand what they’re trying to sell me.

With that drama kinda sorta but not really behind, Jake can now come out on stage. His heart was crying when he had to say goodbye to Gia. He hates that Ali had to make that decision, but she’ll always have a friend. Kathryn does not feel she got a chance. Having watched the show back on TV, he wishes he’d given Christina more time, since he saw a side of her he hadn’t seen while they were at the mansion.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of The Bachelor Season 14 Episode 9, where we will find out who The Bachelor Season 14 winner is, which airs Monday at 8/7c on ABC.

The Amazing Race 16 Episode 2

Unable to complete the final road block in The Amazing Race 16 Episode 1, Adrian & Dana were the first team eliminated from the race.

Teams depart in the order in which they arrived. Granted, the departure order is irrelevant, so much so that they don’t even bother to show it.

First: Jordan & Jeff
Second: Monique & Shawne
Third: Jet & Cord
Fourth: Steve & Allie
Fifth: Joe & Heidi
Sixth: Carol & Brandy
Seventh: Brent & Caite
Eighth: Dan & Jordan
Ninth: Louie & Michael
Tenth: Jody & Shannon

The next destination is Puerto Varas, Chile via bus. From there, they will drive, boat, and climb to their next clue. All teams end up on the same bus.

Brent & Caite are upset that Carol & Brandy view her as just a pageant queen. As if she would be on this show if she were anything else.

Carol & Brandy have decided to make an alliance with Heidi & Joe. This leads Joe to hold a spot for them, which causes animosity amongst the other teams. Interestingly, this move gets the alliance on the first bus, while those Carol & Brandy were allowed to cut in front of are stuck going a couple hours later.

For all the drama this causes, the first bus turns out to maybe not be the best move. The cowboys talk to the locals to figure this out, while Jordan & Jeff figure out themselves and talk the models into going with them. Rather, taking a bus to Temuco and then another one to their destination will be faster. That said, we’ve seen such a move backfire. Either they’re way ahead, or they’re competing for last.

First bus (via Temuco, leaves at 9:15AM): Jet & Cord, Jordan & Jeff, Brent & Caite
Second bus (direct, leaves at 5:30PM): Heidi & Joe, Carol & Brandy
Third bus (direct, leaves at 7:45PM): Steve & Allie, Louie & Michael, Monique & Shawne, Dan & Jordan, Jody & Shannon

Upon arrival in Temuco, Jet & Cord realize the other teams are on an earlier bus. They go to see if they can get on that other bus, but they’re told that the bus is in another terminal, 10 minutes away. They keep all that information under their hats, allowing the other teams to figure it out for themselves when the bus doesn’t show up. They leave to go down the street just after 6:30, and they find out that the bus is gone. Now they have to go back and hope there’s room on the 7:00 bus. Just as that bus is leaving, they pull up. Well, it’s way too late for that now. No more buses for the day. What a stupid move. They should have just stuck around and took the 7:00 bus in the first place, rather than going for the other one after it already left.

For all the time they spent on this, you’d think it would matter, but they find out that the next bus leaves at 1AM, which should put them within spitting distance of the buses that went direct, while the cowboys are likely to hit an hours of operation at some point. That some point is almost immediately. They drive to the site okay but are told they have to wait until 7:30.

The second Temuco bus ends up arriving after the first direct bus but before the second one, putting Jordan & Jeff and Brent & Caite in fourth and fifth, leaving that last direct bus battling for last.

Despite the hours of operation, the cowboys are still the first ones on the trail, but their lead has mostly evaporated while they were waiting.

Rule 1 before coming on the race: learn how to drive stick. The brothers thought this is something Jordan would enjoy, but it turns out he doesn’t seem to know completely what he’s doing. As if they’re not bad off enough due to their struggling driving capability, they also don’t know where they’re going either.

The detour is a choice between two creatures revered by the locals: llamas or condors. In llama adoration, teams must dress a llama by putting a blanket and scarf on a potentially stubborn animal. In condor consternation, teams must dress as birds and then take flight. It appears that both detours are pretty simple, although the llama one is the only one they can possibly get stuck on, whereas the condor detour is just a question of who’s willing to get wet.

Llama adoration: Jet & Cord, Carol & Brandy, Joe & Heidi, Louie & Michael, Monique & Shawne, Dan & Jordan, Jody & Shannon
Condor consternation: Brent & Caite, Jeff & Jordan, Steve & Allie

The next destination is the Onces Bellavista Farm. On their way there, Louie & Michael drive right past it.

The road block is to race around the farm and collect flour, butter, eggs, sugar, and milk straight from a cow to make kuchen, which Cord thinks is pie. Jordan wants Jeff to do this task so she doesn’t have to figure out what a baker’s dozen is. These cows turn out to be oddly violent, kicking three people.

Road block (in order of arrival): Cord, Carol, Heidi, Brent, Jeff, Monique (or Shawne), Steve, Jordan, Jody, Michael

The pit stop for this leg of the race is Gruta de la Virgen, a park in Puerto Varas.

Caite hopes that all the teams see she’s an intelligent person. I’m wondering what we’ve seen thus far that would have convinced them of that.

When Jordan & Jeff are lost looking for the pit stop, they find Louie & Michael, 19 miles away from the road block that they have yet to complete. They return just in time to see another team also working on the task.

First: Jet & Cord (win sailboats)
Second: Joe & Heidi
Third: Carol & Brandy
Fourth: Brent & Caite
Fifth: Monique & Shawne
Sixth: Jordan & Jeff
Seventh: Steve & Allie
Eighth: Dan & Jordan
Ninth: Louie & Michael
Eliminated: Jody & Shannon

Having brought up the rear for each of the first two episodes, Jody & Shannon have been eliminated. I guess there was an inspiring story in there, but they were just outgunned.

Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains Episode 2

The heroes were the first ones to have to face Jeff in Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains Episode 1, and they opted to vote out Sugar, their weakest link.

Boston Rob continues to get tired of his tribe, which seems content just sitting there in the rain and suffering. He’s on the buffoon tribe again, although that ended up going quite well in All Stars. Courtney hopes he doesn’t drop dead in the next few days because otherwise she’ll have to depend on these fools, thereby killing them all.

Randy doesn’t get why they keep redoing the shelter, seeing as it keeps getting worse each time they tear it down.

Rupert would like to get rid of Stephenie because he does not trust her. She considers him to be annoying, and thinks he may just be trying to get rid of her.

Rob decides to walk away from his tribe, fed up with this whole shelter building debacle. Eventually, he collapses. Jerri discovers him, and he asks for help. Medical comes in to take a look at him and give him some water. They say he looks worse than he is. His realization during all this is that he needs to stop trying to be the good guy, and instead be the villain like everybody expects.

For the challenge, each tribe must collect crates and use them to build a staircase spelling out their tribe name. They are playing for immunity and a tarp, rope, and nails. Villains sit out Courtney and Randy. Because this runs in pairs, the heroes sit out Rupert. JT and Cirie start out for the heroes; Danielle and Boston Rob start off for the villains. Heroes are the first to return. The villains were doing a good job at first but slowed down. Candice and Tom go next for the heroes, followed by Tyson and Sandra for the villains. Colby and Stephenie head out next for the heroes. Jerri and Coach are about to get lapped by the heroes. James and Amanda go fourth for the heroes, followed by Russell and Parvati. JT and Tom go back out for the heroes, followed by Rob and Tyson. James and Colby grab their final crate, giving the heroes the edge heading into the puzzle. Russell and Coach return with their final crate. Boston Rob takes control of his tribe, while JT assumes the leadership role for his tribe. The heroes quickly become a lost cause once again. With much effort and hopes that nobody gets crushed, villains win immunity and reward. James snaps at his tribe because they were not listening to JT.

James continues his anger back at camp. Not clear how this is doing him any favors.

Boston Rob’s becoming the hero, which Russell views as a challenge. His response is to chase after a chicken and catch it.

James’ newfound philosophy is that Stephenie is bad luck because her tribe (the first time) lost everybody but her.

Tom’s hope is that Cirie and Candice will join him, Colby, and Stephenie to take control of the game. A good plan for both sides. What about Amanda? Well, the plan is to get rid of her first.

Candice feels like she’s on the bottom regardless of which way she goes.

Cirie says that she’s not really tight with Amanda. They may have made it to the end, but Amanda chose Parvati instead, costing her a million dollars.

At tribal council, an argument breaks out. More of the same nonsense from earlier.

American Idol Season 9 Top 24

The first 7 out of the top 24 were revealed in American Idol Season 9 Episode 11. Tonight we find out the remaining 17.

Janell Wheeler is the next person to join the top 24.

Tyler Grady, the guy from the 60s or the 70s or one of those decades that had questionable hygiene, is the next to advance.

Lacey Brown was cut at this point last year after a sing off, but this time she has made it.

Ashley Rodriguez, Alex Lambert, and Joe Munoz (who?) also make it through.

Crystal Bowersox also joins the top 24.

With all those reveals, some bad news has to be on the way.

Katie Stevens is not where that news starts, however, as she has made it to the next round.

A bunch of people then get rejected. I’m not sure who any of them are, though.

Angela Martin finally seems to have gotten her life on track in her third season of Idol, but she has not made the top 24.

Lilly Scott is the next girl to advance.

Paige Miles, Siobhan Magnus, Michelle Delamor, Jermaine Sellers, and John Park also join the top 24.

There are two girls left: Haeley Vaughn and Tori Kelly. Unlike years past, the silly finding out at the same time bit is gone, although we’ll probably still hear the inevitable but inaccurate claims of “if not for that other girl, the one who didn’t make it would have.” Tori has been cut, as Haeley Vaughn is the last girl to make the top.

For the boys, it comes down to Thaddeus Johnson and Andrew Garcia. Thaddeus has been cut. That puts Andrew Garcia in the top 24, which comes as no surprise following his Straight Up performance.

American Idol Season 9 Episode 11

American Idol Season 9 Episode 10 brought us the second part of Hollywood week. Tonight is the conclusion of Hollywood week, and we will find out some of the top 24.

The contestants are divided into three groups and sent into different rooms. Well, this has the potential to be drawn out like a Biggest Loser weigh in.

After his performance, Jermaine Sellers turns around to the band and says “That wasn’t actually right.” Okay, that was necessary why?

Crystal Bowersox shows off her guitar and harmonica playing skills.

Alex Lambert gives the ukulele one more shot, singing I’m Yours by Jason Mraz. Big Mike Lynche and Todrick Hall also sing that song.

Thaddeus Johnson’s mother has been with him from the beginning, often far too loud. He sings Man in the Mirror, the song that paved the way for Kris Allen’s success (that Kara incorrectly said was the wrong choice).

Mary Powers had an emotional round 1, followed by being overly bossy in round 2. Round 3 finally lets her put the drama behind.

Bryan Walker gets a wink from Simon, which I’m going to take as a positive thing.

Shelby Dressell struggled to remember her words during rehearsal, like she did during her first audition, but she pulled it off when it came time to perform in front of the judges.

Aaron Kelly, however, forgot his words in his final performance. After taking some time to compose himself, though, he recovers.

Janell Wheeler has been struggling with her voice this week, but it doesn’t seem to impact her. What the judges do pick apart is the song choice.

Room 1 goes first, meaning they have made it. Included in this group are Lilly Scott, Siobhan Magnus, Tyler Grady, Thaddeus Johnson, Michael Lynche, and Katie Stevens.

Room 2 goes next. They haven’t made it. This room includes Hope Johnson, Bryan Walker, Mary Powers, Charity Vance, Christian Spear, and Lloyd Thomas.

That leaves room 3 in the clear. Randy realizes he sounds like a broken record by now, saying that this year is the best group ever. This room includes Aaron Kelly, Janell Wheeler, Ashley Rodriguez, John Park, Angela Martin, Jessica Furney, and Shelby Dressel.

On previous seasons, we found out the top 24 on Wednesday night, but this year it’s been split to include a partial reveal tonight. Why is anybody’s speculation.

Instead of the awkward elevator ride, this year they will receive the news at the Kodak Theatre.

Michael Lynche is warned that they’re not sure whether he believes he can actually do this, but he is the first person to join the top 24 by a unanimous vote.

Didi Benami is still as emotional as she was when we first saw her. She gets the first spot for the girls.

After a lengthy routine in which Ellen makes her wait while telling her it’s wrong to make her wait, Katelyn Epperly is told she has made it.

Shelby Dressel is the first person to be cut. Simon says that was the wrong decision.

Casey James will hopefully be keeping his clothes on for the final judging. He’s going through to the next round.

Despite having forgotten his words in both the second and third performances in Hollywood, Aaron Kelly joins the top 24.

Lee DeWyze is told he needs to be more confident in himself, but he makes it to through.

Todrick Hall just gets one word: yes.

Jessica Furney has been cut. After hearing that, she starts begging. This isn’t going to do her any favors. They’ve already made up their minds. Don’t shoot yourself in the foot for next year, too.

The Bachelor Season 14 Episode 7

Ali decided in The Bachelor Season 14 Episode 6 that she would say yes if Jake asked her to marry her. Not long after this declaration, she showed up at his door with a puppy dog face, telling him that she had to make a choice between him and her job at Facebook. He told her about 10 times that this was her decision to make based on what was best for her, but she refused to make a decision until he told her whether she was going home or not. Quite possibly in order to get her to make a decision before the entire two hours of the episode were used on this drama, he told her that she was not in danger, and he wanted her to say. With that finally out of the way, she left anyway.

Gia gets the first date. Jake is worried that something’s holding her back. They take a boat to Gros Islet, one of the local towns in Saint Lucia, which leads them to both start thinking about travelling the world together. She’d like to tell him she loves him (and vice versa) by the end of the date. That night, they go to Smuggler’s Cove and have dinner on the beach. She’s surprised by how deep he is, apparently. While they’re rocking in a hammock and drinking champagne, he pulls out the fantasy suite card, which she happily accepts. They hop into a candlelit bathtub with rose pedals. Although she keeps saying the “L” word in her confessional, she’s still afraid to actually say it to him.

Tenley meets Jake next at Rodney Bay in Gros Islet. Since she said she hasn’t really seen his passion yet, he takes her flying. Well, a pilot takes them both flying anyway. The chopper lands in a rain forest for a picnic. Tenley says she’s fallen in love with Jake. Some of the way. Like Gia and Jake, she’d also like to travel. I just hope nobody is having a drinking game relating to mentions of an ex or a previous marriage. That said, Tenley claims that the past has passed, and she tells Jake she’s falling in love. After dinner, Jake breaks out the inevitable card, and she accepts the offer, making Jake the second guy she’s spent the night with.

Vienna gets the final date. He wants to get back to her fun, light, “almost immature” side. They board the ship used in Pirates of the Carribean. Vienna says that she’s never been in love. Jake’s concern with Vienna is that he’s not sure whether he is more than just physically attracted to her. Dinner somehow leads to the type of rings she’d like, so she picks the princess cut of course. He warns her, however, that there are two others that he could also see being his wife. Despite her fear, she’s gotta say that she’s fallen in love with him, leaving Gia as the last woman standing who has not shared how she feels. She, too, accepts the fantasy suite card, and she’s planned for this, bringing lingerie along with her.

Jake gets a call from Ali. She knows that she made the wrong choice. Oh shoot me. Since he was forced to put what he felt for her aside, he’s further along with the other three. Despite the obscenely misleading (aka typical) editing, he does not tell her to get on a plane. Instead, he says he does not think it’s a good idea.

On her video message before the rose ceremony, Gia tells Jake she’s falling in love.
