Following her victory last night in which Ali Vincent got the bragging rights as The Biggest Loser season 5 winner, to go along with being the first ever female Biggest Loser and the $250,000 check, Ali’s also getting some other perks.

As with prior seasons (like The Biggest Loser 3’s Erik), the winner of the show is also made part of the got milk? ad campaign with their milk moustache. Check out the ad below. You can definitely see how far Ali came during this season.

The Biggest Loser Couples Winner

The Biggest Loser 8 Winner
The Biggest Loser 7 Winner
The Biggest Loser 6 Winner
The Biggest Loser 4 Winner
The Biggest Loser 3 Winner

The Biggest Loser 5 was the season of couples, or at least it was for a few weeks anyway. In tonight’s live finale, we find out who the winner is. We already know that Ali Vincent and Kelly Fields make up two of the three finalists. The third will be chosen by America between Mark Kruger and Roger Shultz. Considering Ali’s performance thus far, she’s got the best shot any woman has ever had of winning this show, but both the guys would give her a run for her money.

America has chosen to bring Roger back into the game. Can’t say I’m surprised, but I’d argue that Mark should have been brought back. Of course, whichever of these two didn’t get chosen probably has the highest chance of winning the $100k, though I expect Bernie and Dan to challenge him for it.

Paul is ill and unable to be at the show tonight, but the others are all back.

Mark tells us he was a crybaby because he finally was able to embrace the emotional issues of why he got overweight to begin with.

Curtis wants to hit 238 pounds so that he can qualify for health insurance.

Jenni: 213 pounds (-54, 20.22%)
Lynn: 329 pounds (-80, 19.56%)
Mallory: 152 pounds (-65, 29.95%)
Curtis: 231 pounds (-150, 39.37%)
Amanda: 140 pounds (-64, 31.37%)
Neill: 229 pounds (-88, 27.76%)
Bette-Sue: 186 pounds (-75, 28.74%)
Jenn: 190 pounds (-64, 25.20%)
Maggie: 169 pounds (-70, 29.29%)
Jackie: 157 pounds (-89, 36.18%)
Dan: 174 pounds (-136, 43.87%)
Trent: 301 pounds (-135, 30.96%)
Bernie: 153 pounds (-130, 45.94%)
Brittany: 164 pounds (-57, 25.79%)
Jay: 190 pounds (-103, 35.15%)
Mark: 156 pounds (-129, 45.26%)

Bernie manages to inch out Mark and is the Biggest Loser 5 at-home winner, taking home the $100,000 prize.

That leaves us 43 minutes for three additional people to weigh in. They’ll be able to fill it without breaking a sweat.

America lost 1,129,347 pounds. This is one reason I hope to see this show continue for a long time. It’s good to see this kind of motivation on TV.

As the highest percentage weight loser on campus, Ali decides to allow Roger to go first, followed by Kelly, then herself.

Roger: 199 pounds (-164, 45.18%)
Kelly: 162 pounds (-109, 40.22%)
Ali: 122 pounds (-112, 47.86%)

And The Biggest Loser Couples winner is Ali Vincent, making her the first female Biggest Loser winner. This concludes a great story and lesson. Either give up and say “I can’t” like multiple women on this and prior seasons of this show, or push yourself to the limits and prove that if you set your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.

The Biggest Loser 6 was announced in February, and the NBC schedule has it slated as The Biggest Loser: Families.

The Biggest Loser 5 Episode 15

The girls stayed strong in The Biggest Loser Couples Episode 14, so the guys were forced to choose one of their own, as the two brothers fell below the yellow line. At Jay’s request, they voted him out, bringing us down to the final four: Ali Vincent, Mark Kruger, Kelly Fields, and Roger Shultz.

Because the trainers are too busy working on The Biggest Loser Australia, the contestants won’t have trainers for their last week.

Rocco DiSpirito of The Restaurant is back. He spoke to their loved ones to find out what their favorite dishes are. Rather than having them continue to eat these meals that are bad for them or just simply avoiding them forever, he’s going to show them how to make healthy alternatives. By making substitutions like chickpea flour instead of white flour and brown rice instead of white rice, he cuts Roger’s dish down from 1700 to 385 calories, Kelly’s from 1300-1500 to 500, Ali’s from 1500 to 511, and Mark’s (ice cream no less) from 810 to 270.

Allison’s got some fat suits for them, which are precise replicas of what their bodies weighed when they first started. They’ll run to the end of the beach, shed the weight, grab a flag, and run to the top of the mountain. The winner will receive specially prepared food every day until the finale, along with $10,000. Mark gets off to an early lead as usual. Roger arrives at the shedding station just as Mark’s done taking his fat suit off. Ali’s right behind him, with Kelly in last. This is how the order stays, and Mark wins the final challenge.

Jillian and Bob are back for the final day and a pep talk. Allison warns them she’s got a special surprise for each of them. They get to see videos of themselves from when they started and their journey throughout the season.

It’s time for the weigh-in.

Roger: 219 pounds (-15, 6.41%), down 39.66% from his starting weight of 363 pounds
Mark: 169 pounds (-12, 6.63%), down 40.70% from his starting weight of 285 pounds
Ali: 135 pounds (-11, 7.53%), down 42.30% from her starting weight of 234 pounds
Kelly: 178 pounds (-13, 6.81%), down 34.31% from her starting weight of 271 pounds.

Huge numbers all around and a new record for Roger with 144 pounds lost on campus. Ali has also set a record, with 99 pounds lost on campus, and she’s also unquestionably kicking ass when it comes to percentages. Two boys end up below the yellow line again.

Roger assumes he’s going home, but as we knew, there’s a twist. The girls don’t have the power here. America will decide whether it’s Roger or Mark who go forward. I don’t like America having a vote like this, but there are a lot of ways this can be played. Is it based on who was the best competitor? Nicest guy? Most weight lost? Who will be the most threatening to Ali’s quest to become the first female Biggest Loser?

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another recap of The Biggest Loser: Couples episode 16, where we will find out who the winner is, which airs Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.

The Biggest Loser 5 Episode 14

After the girls managed to take the first and second spots in The Biggest Loser Couples Episode 13, the guys were forced to turn on one of their own, sending Dan packing.

Allison has good news for a change. The final five will be heading to Australia.

Ali knows how dangerous the brothers are, which is one reason I don’t understand the concept of not getting rid of Mark last week. With that in mind, she wants to make an alliance with Jay and Mark to take out Roger. Mark realizes that Roger’s the biggest threat, so he’s okay with this plan.

Bob and Jillian have participated in The Biggest Loser Australia for a while, and now they’re going to share the experience with their American contestants. The only problem with the travel is that they lose a day in the air.

The contestants participate in an aboriginal smoke ceremony to clear their minds and give them good luck. Forget your troubles. C’mon. Get happy.

Roger knows he’s a dead duck if he falls below the line with Jay or Mark.

Bob and Jillian take the contestants out for dinner and dancing in Sydney. They take them to Otto (a restaurant) to give them an example of how to order out in a restaurant that’s not Subway. The next day they take them shopping at a local market for fresh fruit, vegetables, and meats.

They get a visit from Adro, The Biggest Loser Australia 1 winner, who still looks great. He tells them it’s a life change and that it all starts at the finale, rather than ending there. He’s got a message from Allison: meet her on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Mark’s terrified of bridges. Jay’s facing up against his fear of heights again. They’re not jumping. Allison calls it the hardest challenge they’ve ever come up with. They’ll start the challenge in a jetboat. The next thing is to jump out and swim 300 meters. When they get to shore, they’ll race up a set of steps to some bikes, which they will ride to the entrance of the Botanical Gardens, which they will then run through and head up the Aurora Place Building, where they will climb 44 stories of stairs to find Allison. Ali gets off to a lead in the swimming part of the triathlon. She’s followed by Mark then Jay then Kelly then Roger. She knows that Mark’s right behind her and going to kill her in the next stages. The run to the bike is about 1/4 a mile, and Mark manages to catch her running up the stairs. Roger’s still in the water. Mark finally gains the lead on the first big turn on the bikes and builds on it from there. Kelly’s still quite a ways ahead of Roger by the time she hits the run, but he believes he can catch her while running. She’s still in fourth when they hit the stairs, but he passes her when they get about 1/3 of the way through the climb. Mark ends up beating Ali by about one floor, but instead of heading to Allison, he sits down on the stairs and waits for Ali so they can finish together. She picks him up and brings him across the finish line. They both get to call home and fly in a seaplane. Jay finishes third followed by Roger. They all walk to the stairs to support Kelly as she finishes.

The last chance workout is a big contrast. Jillian beats her girls on the beach, while the boys do yoga with Bob.

It’s time for the weigh-in.

Jay: 202 pounds (+1, -0.50%)
Ali: 146 pounds (-3, 2.01%)
Roger: 234 pounds (-2, 0.85%)
Kelly: 191 pounds (-1, 0.52%)
Mark: 182 pounds (+1, -0.55%)

Brutal week all around, though Ali continues strongly. It comes down to a decision as to which brother to get rid of. Jay wants to see Mark stay in the game and asks for the others to eliminate him.

Votes
Ali: Jay
Roger: Jay

Honoring Jay’s request, the house votes Jay out. The four who remain have lost 400 pounds. They’re heading back to campus without trainers. Jay is down 100 pounds from his starting weight of 293 pounds. He plans to do a 10K run to raise awareness for Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome, which his daughter has.

There’s only one show left before the live finale where we find out who the winner is. America will have their say as to which of the bottom two is allowed to be in the final three.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another recap of The Biggest Loser: Couples episode 15, which airs Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.

The Biggest Loser 5 Episode 13

We saw two boots in The Biggest Loser Couples: Episode 12. At the top of the show, Maggie was eliminated, then at the end, it was Brittany, a swift and fitting end to the two people who threw in the towel the week before.

Black team’s almost extinct, but the two top females remain. Blue team is still four strong.

Bob’s getting frustrated with Jay, who continues to cut out carbs and doesn’t understand that carbs are necessary in a diet. Even the average person has slowly started to figure out that low carb diets aren’t a way of life, which is why Atkins went bankrupt. Mark’s meanwhile getting grief because he’s down to 185 pounds and really doesn’t have a great deal more of weight to lose, so every single thing he eats counts.

Allison comes to see them in the morning and wants to see them all in the elimination room. Ali remembers the last time this happened. She went home. They’re playing for what is under the tray, whatever that is. This is a pop quiz to see what they’ve learned. If they get a question wrong, they’re out. Everybody answers 3500 calories need to be burned for one pound, a question I’d certainly hope they all know by now. The second question is a little more difficult, and it’s how much weight Curtis lost. Since he lost 100 pounds even, it shouldn’t be that tough, though. Kelly answers 104 and is out. Ali answers 88 and is out. Mark answers 101 and is out. The third question is sudden death. Whoever gets closest without going over wins. How many calories are in one cup of fat-free strawberry yogurt? Dan answers 100, Jay answers 60, and Roger answers 60. The correct answer is 200 calories. Dan wins. So what’s under the tray? Dan has won a piece of cake. She suggests he bring it with him to the challenge in one piece.

He doesn’t trust them. He’s going to carry his cake around with him wherever he goes, including the gym, where he puts it on its own treadmill.

Mark’s having difficulty at the workout and breaks down following that, but he reluctantly continues.

Dan goes out for a run, and Roger comes out to tell him his cake is gone. When Dan goes up to his room, he’s got a ransom note from Kelly. He don’t care that she’s in the shower and walks in her room looking for it. She doesn’t know what he’s talking about. So now he wants to talk to Ali. He tries searching in all the places where he normally doesn’t look, like the dishwasher and laundry room. When he finds it, Roger reveals it was him. He wanted to teach him a lesson to protect the cake.

The challenge is in a stadium. They’ll have 20 minutes in which they will grab one item of food per trip and put it on anyone’s table but their own. Whoever has the fewest calories will win $10,000. Dan’s cake is still intact, so he can put his 600 calorie chocolate cake wherever he wants. He gives it to Kelly, a rather hefty start. Kelly’s going after Dan and Roger. Ali’s strategy is to go even with everybody. The guys want to load up the girls. Mark and Jay certainly remember the last challenge like this, the ball challenge. Roger’s the first one to take a bite, and Dan follows suit, as does Jay. Once she notices that the boys are already ganging up on her and Kelly, Ali decides to just go after the guys. None of the guys put anything on any other guy’s table. It’s pretty obvious that neither girl won, as their tables are overflowing with food. Dan says they didn’t want to target each other and were more than happy to leave the decision up to the girls.

Kelly-15,061 calories
Ali-14,327 calories
Dan-5,736 calories
Mark-5,612 calories
Roger-4,895 calories
Jay-4,480 calories

Jay wins the $10,000. Allison asks him how he plans to spend the money, and he says he owes his wife a vacation. But wait. Allison has an alternative offer. She wants him to buy the envelope she’s holding. At final 6, I’d say go for it. Of course, since he only lost 3 pounds last week, he’s unlikely to have a bad week this week, so maybe the $10k is the better option. It’s a 1 pound pass. She gives him until the weigh-in to make the decision. Dan wants him to take the money because if he dosn’t, Dan’s risk is higher.

Following the challenge, Ali decides to forge an alliance with Kelly because she doesn’t want to see the guys just hand the final prize to Roger.

Jillian’s getting tired of the boys and wants to see the sharks turn on each other.

Bob takes the opportunity at the last chance workout to make sure everybody’s doing the same thing, so that they’re all one unit and stick together.

It’s time for the weigh-in, so Jay’s got a choice to make. He takes the pound.

Jay: 201 pounds (-5, plus another pound, 2.91%)
Roger: 236 pounds (-6, 2.48%)
Dan: 198 pounds (-1, 0.50%)
Mark: 181 pounds (-4, 2.16%)
Ali: 149 pounds (-6, 3.87%)
Kelly: 192 pounds (-7, 3.52%)

With her 85 pound weight loss, Ali has set a new record for weight lost by a female, and she hasn’t even been there the whole time. Now the boys have to pick off one of their own, although they do still retain a numbers advantage. Mark and Dan are below the yellow line. For Dan, this is the first time he’s been below the yellow line. Factoring in starting weights and who has more to lose, I’d suggest Dan is the bigger threat. Jay refuses to put his brother’s name down again, which he lets the house know, so with that in mind, perhaps Mark would be seen as a bigger threat.

Votes
Ali-Dan
Kelly-Dan
Roger-Dan

With three votes, Dan is not the biggest loser, but he’s definitely a threat to win the $100,000. He’s already moving on with his music career and has moved out to LA. Dan’s down 125 pounds from his original weight of 310 pounds to 185 pounds today.

The Biggest Loser 5 Episode 12

The two biggest losers who had previously been eliminated (Ali and Mark) returned to campus with a second chance in The Biggest Loser: Couples Episode 11. After Bernie went home, his team completely fell apart, and the two girls who fell below the yellow line were the ones who threw in the towel. That’s where we left things because two hours is apparently not enough time to tell us who’s been eliminated.

Votes
Dan-Maggie
Dan (second vote)-Maggie
Kelly-Brittany
Mark-Maggie
Ali-Maggie

With 4 votes, Maggie has been eliminated from the game. Maggie is now down to 172 pounds from her original weight of 239 pounds for a total weight loss of 66 pounds to date.

Brittany is concerned because her clique, which she held on to for too long, has been destroyed.

The teams head to Macy’s. None of them liked going to the mall before because nothing fit. It’s makeover week, and they’re going to be doing a photo shoot for Prevention magazine. Tim Gunn from Project Runway is there to help them. It’s an emotional time for everybody as they realize they can look better and fit in clothes they typically had avoided. When they’re done shopping, they get to keep the clothes and a gift card for $1,000.

Then it’s time for a new hair style with Brandon Martinez of B the Product. Even Dan agrees to get his hair chopped off (welcome to the next millenium).

In addition to walking the runway, their families are there to greet them as per usual on makeover week.

As we saw last season with Kae, this season’s stand out female gets the cover shot, as Ali is appearing on the cover of the current edition of Prevention.

Jillian this week (again) wants to try to figure out why Brittany never loses much weight. She rolls the dice and adds some extra sodium to her diet to see what it does.

The challenge is to walk on treadmills suspended over water. The task is to stay on the treadmill the longest, and whoever doesn’t plunge into the pool wins. The prize is a vacation to a spa and resort in Utah. At 40 minutes, they finally get the hint and increase the speed enough so that it’s actually a challenge, and Kelly is the first one out, followed by Roger a few seconds later. Dan’s down about a minute later. Brittany drops at 45 minutes. Jay takes a dive at 56 minutes. Ali falls at an hour and five minutes, and Mark wins.

Roger gets upset because Mark isn’t yelling and pissing people off as much as he was the first time around. He confronts him about this because he loves when Mark does that kind of thing (since it makes Mark more of a target). All Roger’s strategy here does is run the risk of creating problems within the team, which on a team with two brothers is probably not a good idea. Unless he can manage to push Mark off his game, which he has managed to do here, but with the way the numbers line up, it’s too early for that to be a good idea.

It’s time to weigh-in.

Ali: 155 pounds (-5, 3.13%)
Mark: 185 pounds (-3, 1.60%)
Dan: 199 pounds (-8, 3.86%)
Brittany: 170 pounds (-2, 1.16%)
Roger: 242 pounds (-9, 3.59%)
Jay: 206 pounds (-3, 1.44%)
Kelly: 199 pounds (-3, 1.49%)

That puts Jay and Brittany below the yellow line. Three people hit milestones this week. Both Dan and Kelly are below 200 pounds, while Mark hit 100 pounds lost. Nice chance to take out a much bigger threat in Mark, but I don’t see the team buckling. Not that they particularly need to because Mark is very close to being at his peak.

Brittany’s finally been eliminated. To celebrate her success on the show, she decides to go skydiving. Brittany is down 62 pounds from her starting weight of 221 pounds to 159 today.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another recap of The Biggest Loser: Couples episode 13, which airs Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.

The Biggest Loser 5 Episode 11

Bernie took the bullet for his partner Brittany and was voted off in episode 10 after he offered immunity to her rather than taking the more logical approach.

Now that we’re down to the final 6, it’s obviously time to… go back to the final 8. All 14 previously eliminated contestants are back, and two of them will get a second chance.

Paul says he doesn’t know why he’s there, but the rest of them are fired up, except Bette-Sue who would rather see her daughter Ali come back. Neill claims he’s no longer a lazy whiner. Jackie notices a big difference in Dan, then he reveals the tattoo.

The women are up first.

Jenni: 229 pounds (-38, 14.23%)
Mallory: 175 pounds (-42, 19.35%)
Amanda: 158 pounds (-46, 22.55%)
Ali: 167 pounds (-67, 28.63%)
Bette-Sue: 212 pounds (-49, 18.77%)
Jenn: 206 pounds (-48, 18.90%)
Jackie: 182 pounds (-64, 26.02%)

Ali is the woman who will be returning to the show, and well deserved. This time last year, Kae was at 29.33%, and she had a lot more time at the ranch. It would have been very interesting to have seen Ali’s transformation unfold on screen, though if she stuck around any longer the first time we would have been stuck with Bette-Sue as well.

The men are up next.

Lynn: 345 pounds (-64, 15.65%)
Curtis: 281 pounds (-100, 26.25%)
Neill: 262 pounds (-55, 17.35%)
Trent: 331 pounds (-105, 24.08%)
Paul: 233 pounds (-70, 23.10%)
Mark: 195 pounds (-90, 31.58%)
Bernie: 195 pounds (-88, 31.10%)

Mark returning to the show is as I’d expected. Not good news for the black team because it’s now 4 blue team members. He chooses to train with his team and Bob. Ali is over on the other side training with Jillian, but she’s not really solidly with either side, whether she’s wearing a black shirt or not. Of course, considering the competition, she’d be wise to take out the blue team boys as quickly as the opportunity presents itself. It also does mean, however, that she’s an easy target by her side if she has a bad week.

This is an interesting preview of things to come. Bernie’s currently got a commanding lead for the $100,000 at home prize. His only real competition would be if Mark or Dan or possibly Ali get eliminated.

Mark coming back has certainly helped to lift his team’s spirits. He quickly tosses his black shirt in favor of a blue one. On the other side of the spectrum is the black team. Ali didn’t particularly help them any, and she’s clearly their biggest female threat. What’s worse is they’re sitting around crying about how Bernie’s gone, which has Jillian worried. Jillian’s happy to see Ali, and Kelly hopes she’s the shot in the arm they need. Unlike Mark, she will continue wearing her original color.

While waiting for Mark to cook dinner, the old black team is sitting at their table, while Ali sits at the other table with the blue team boys.

The black team has a defeatist attitude, and it ain’t getting any better. Watching Jillian workout with Ali, the looks on their faces say it all.

Maggie has been eating because she’s depressed as a result of them going backwards. Has she learned nothing the past 10 weeks? How does she expect to keep the weight off if she just gives up this easily? Brittany doesn’t appear to be in that same situation. Instead, she’s whining half the day.

The challenge is to be human generators. They will use bicycles to convert their exercise into energy to light up lightbulbs. Only one person wins the reward. One person gets an extra vote, which will in theory give that side the chance to control the game (granted, two girls will probably be on the bottom, so that’s moot). Mark finishes first, followed by Dan, Jay, Roger, Maggie, and then Brittany. Ali and Kelly are eliminated. The others will all go on to more of the same in round 2. Mark again finishes first, followed by Dan, Jay, and Roger. The girls are out. Mark again finishes first, followed by Dan. They go to the final round. After Mark won the first three rounds, Dan manages to pull out a win and take the reward. While they pretend he’ll vote against the guys to create drama, it’s way too early for him to turn.

When asked at the weigh-in whether there’s a clear winner in the group, Brittany’s response is that it’s not anybody’s game because the girls have a slower metabolism and blah blah blah. It’s not fair. It’s just not fair. Allison asks if that means you give up. A fair question. Jillian responds that she should just “Leave the ****ing girl alone.” Allison wants Jillian to explain herself. Jillian says Brittany knows it’s impossible for her to win, and it’s not fair. I would have hoped Jillian would be above this enabling.

Ali: 160 pounds (-7, 4.19%)
Mark: 188 pounds (-7, 3.59%)
Dan: 207 pounds (-4, 1.90%)
Roger: 251 pounds (-8, 3.09%)
Jay: 209 pounds (-5, 2.34%)
Brittany: 172 pounds (-2, 1.15%)
Kelly: 202 pounds (-4, 1.94%)
Maggie: 184 pounds (no change)

A fitting result. The two girls who threw in the towel are below the yellow line. Despite the game supposedly being over already for the girls, Ali, whose weight loss is up there with the best of them this season, is the biggest loser of the week. Jillian is not happy about this being pointed out.

And that’s how this week ended. Apparently they couldn’t fit an elimination into two whole hours.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another recap of The Biggest Loser: Couples episode 12, which airs Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.

The Biggest Loser 5 Episode 8

For the second week in a row, the blue team lost in The Biggest Loser Couples Episode 7, and rather than keep going with a knee injury, Trent asked to be voted out so that his team would be at its strongest. The good news, or perhaps not so good news, for the teams is that they’re all living at home for the next week. Probably a mental boost, but there’s no doubt it may present a roadblock to weight loss goals.

Jay views the trip home as a way to be reenergized, which he needs since he’s the weakest link on his team and basically the reason they lost last week. Bernie and Brittany are excited to be going home, but they’re being smart about it. They’re taking with them all the foods they know they’ll need while there. Dan wants to see his mom and make sure she’s been sticking with her exercise and diet plan, while Maggie’s looking forward to seeing Jen.

They all have to warn their families, who clearly aren’t watching what they eat and themselves could afford to diet, that they’re on a program and that things will need to change.

Mark goes so far as to throw away desserts that his kids are trying to eat. Harsh perhaps, but a necessary lesson, although moderation certainly makes a lot more sense than cold turkey. His wife has dropped two sizes because she wants to improve herself, too. His kids are reluctant to try a new healthy meal he makes, but they’re surprised to find out they like it.

Brittany goes out with her friends to a bar, where she orders a water on the rocks. Later in the week, she goes with a friend to Subway, which while it’s a paid advertisement, is still a worthwhile message that just because you’re eating fast food doesn’t mean it has to be unhealthy.

Bernie heads to his favorite bakery in Chicago, where he hugs the people who work there upon greeting them. A scary sign. He’s even got a cupcake named after him now.

Paul gets all you can eat wings when he goes out, and he’s not shy of slipping back into his old ways and eating away. He’s also washing that down with some soda.

Maggie goes to meet Jen, and they go to the gym to workout with Jen’s trainer. She manages to get 2 of the 15 miles done that Jillian expected her to.

Roger goes to his favorite restaurant but applies what he’s learned, ordering something healthy.

Jay and his wife manage to find healthy meals for themselves, but the kids kind of get lost in the shuffle. When they see the portion sizes for “kids meals,” they’re shocked, and he says they’ll have to take some of it home. Even still, he’s not happy with the quality of the meals the kids get.

Dan goes to meet with his mom at the family’s youth organization. They decide to play some dodgeball with the kids, a nice change from before when she was sitting at a desk all day and he played for a short amount of time at most.

Mark wants to workout with Jay. They meet one day, but Jay says he’s busy the next day. Mark emphasizes how important it is to make sure he still works out.

Jillian made sure that, even though the contestants were at home, she was their first phone call in the morning and last phone call at night. Bernie tells her they did name a cupcake after him but that he didn’t eat anything. Brittany admits to eating a piece of pizza and a cookie. Maggie had fish and vegetables every single time she went out. Kelly ate out a lot but thinks she made smart choices when she did. Unlike everybody else, not only did Paul pig out, but he also didn’t return any of Jillian’s phone calls. He pretends his phone was broken, but she knows better.

Paul’s reward for being The Biggest Loser player of the week is a lifetime membership to 24 Hour Fitness.

The winning team in the challenge will choose two people who will have to weigh-in 24 hours early, immediately after the challenge. Three people from each team will compete. Paul and Kelly sit out, and Mark sits out for his team. A machine has been created to spin tubes in rotations above and below them. They have to jump over one tube, then duck under the next. If they break the tube, they’re out. Roger is first out at 6 minutes. Bernie’s out at 15 minutes, saying the challenge is more mental than physical. Roger makes an offer at 28 minutes: just call it a draw. Bernie seems interested, and the blue team members that are still in it are as well. However, Brittany’s not budging. Dan seems to be losing focus and is out at 36 minutes. Maggie is out next at 39 minutes, and Jay follows closely behind her. Brittany wins the challenge for the black team, making the gamble she took pay off. They choose Dan and Roger to weigh-in early because they’re the biggest threats, giving them one day less this week… but one day more next week, which potentially makes them even more dangerous than normal then.

Dan: 226 pounds (-11)
Roger: 276 pounds (-16)

Amazing numbers considering they had one less day and also went home for the week. This is a pretty typical number for Dan and Roger’s best week since week one. They decide they would rather surprise the other team with these numbers. The big question is how Jay did, as well as just how bad Paul did (Jillian expects tragedy).

Mark: 202 pounds (-13)
Jay: 228 pounds (-16)
Total: -56 pounds, 5.67%

Maggie: 198 pounds (-6)
Bernie: 211 pounds (-5)
Brittany: 185 pounds (-3)
Kelly: 218 pounds (-7)
Paul: 236 pounds (-5)
Total: -26 pounds, 2.42%

Holy blowout, Batman. Blue team showed exceptional strength despite the trip home. Black team actually did not do that much worse than they typically have done, and despite Paul’s lack of focus, he actually pulled an okay number, just not enough to keep himself safe. Jay is The Biggest Loser player of the week. Kelly is the biggest loser on her team and has immunity. Paul’s excited about this, although, despite the fact that he’s an asset to the team, the three amigos are likely to vote him out as a block. Paul wears a yellow team T-shirt to the weigh-in.

Votes
Bernie: Paul
Brittany: Paul
Paul: Bernie
Kelly: Bernie
Maggie: Paul

The other players were quick to jump on Paul for wearing a yellow shirt, but it’s pretty obvious he was right. This isn’t about the team. It’s about an alliance. Which is fine, but there’s no need to jump down his throat for pointing out the truth that everybody knows. Paul is now off his blood pressure medicine. He lost 67 pounds on the show but has been in the hospital for two weeks with pneumonia, where he gained 6 pounds, but he’s now down a total of 64 pounds.
