Michelle and Vicky made it to the final two in The Biggest Loser Families Episode 13. Now America gets to choose between Heba and Ed (the latter of whom doesn’t want the votes because he’s afraid of his wife) for the third finalist.

84% of America chose Ed. The combination of the fact that Heba was really hated by America, as well as that Ed begged for us to vote for her (and people voted for him to spite them), were obviously way too big for Heba to overcome.

With that, we’re now down to a final three of Michelle Aguilar, Vicky Vilcan, and Ed Brantley, one of whom will be the season 6 The Biggest Loser Families winner.

First, though, we get to find out who is The Biggest Loser Families At-Home winner.

Adam: 260 pounds (-80, 23.53%)
Stacey: 156 pounds (-65, 29.41%)
LT: 270 pounds (-87, 24.37%)
Tom: 236 pounds (-78, 24.84%)
Jerry: 265 pounds (-115, 30.26%)
Coleen: 154 pounds (-64, 29.36%)
Shellay: 142 pounds (-74, 34.26%)
Amy C: 135 pounds (-104, 43.51%)
Phil: 180 pounds (-151, 45.62%)
Amy P: 124 pounds (-105, 45.82%)
Brady: 224 pounds (-117, 34.31%)
Renee: 161 pounds (-106, 39.70%)
Heba: 156 pounds (-138 pounds, 46.94%)

Heba edges out fan favorite husband and wife Amy and Phil to win the $100,000 at home prize.

50 minutes left and three people to weigh in. Can we fit it all in?

As the biggest loser on the ranch, Michelle decides which order they will weigh in.

Ed: 196 pounds (-139, 41.49%)
Vicky: 145 pounds (-101, 41.08%)
Michelle: 132 pounds (-110, 45.45%)

The Biggest Loser Families winner is Michelle. If she was up against Heba, she would have lost, so it turns out that america ended up playing this right. Even though the blue team did end up with the at home prize, they were shut out of the grand prize.

The Biggest Loser returns to NBC in three weeks. The Biggest Loser Couples 2 season 7 premieres on January 6.

The Biggest Loser Families Episode 13

After she fell below the yellow line in The Biggest Loser Families Episode 12, Renee was eliminated. This leaves us with just one last hope.

Michelle gets a reality check. She’s now all alone in the house (for a whole week). Jillian tells her that she may be doing this on her own, but she’s not alone.

Bob discusses his team and how they loved to play the game this season. This brings him to a story about season 1 winner Ryan, who was a puppetmaster, but weighs as much as he used to weigh when he first walked into the house because he didn’t learn anything.

Vicky responds that she has learned about nutrition and fitness, but that she hasn’t learned anything more than that. She has failed to identify the reason why she got up to 246 pounds in the first place, and she doesn’t know what’s going to stop her from gaining all the weight back. Her goal is to do what she said she was going to do: be the next Biggest Loser. And that’s about it.

To make matters worse, she’s passed her bad habits on to the next generation, as her kids have learned that a normal eating routine includes eating at fast food restaurants most of the time. She’s not sure how she’ll get them to eat vegetables, since they never have before. At least her daughter likes to eat a yogurt (or six).

Alison calls in the contestants to give them a box marked special delivery, telling them they have to know where they’ve been to know where they’re going. Inside are the clothes they used to wear. Heba doesn’t want to ever see those clothes again, so they decide to burn them.

Alison’s waiting for them at a racetrack for the final challenge. She’s standing next to a car, but they won’t need that. They’ll put on 11 different body weights so that they start off with the same weight they were when they came to the ranch, and they will run around the track shedding that weight. At each pit stop, they will remove the corresponding body weight that they lost that week. The winner will receive The Biggest Loser meal plan for themselves and their family every day until the finale, as well as $10,000. Ed takes an immediate lead, followed by Michelle, then Heba, then a barely moving Vicky. Ed continues to lead and eventually laps Vicky at week 7. Michelle gives him a run for it, but she doesn’t manage to catch him, as Ed wins the challenge (hence, Heba wins, too). Heba’s not too far behind. Now it’s time to wait for Vicky to finish again.

After that, they watch videos of their journey. Michelle gets to go back through her accomplishments, as well as the times she threw herself a pity party. Vicky convinces Bob she does get it and will be okay.

Going into the weigh-in, everybody feels pretty confident blue team’s got the numbers to run the show.

Vicky: 170 pounds (-6, 3.41%)
Heba: 210 pounds (-7, 3.23%)
Ed: 252 pounds (+2, -.80%)
Michelle: 162 pounds (-9, 5.26%)

That puts Vicky and Michelle in the finale, with Ed and Heba below the yellow line together. Seeing as he only lost three pounds last week, it’s pretty obvious that Ed threw away this week so his wife would be in the finals, but it didn’t work. Alison’s got a twist, though. America will decide who is in the final three. Heba asks America to vote for Heba. Ed asks America to vote for Heba as well. Putz.

Michelle has so far taken the lead as the house’s biggest loser.

Michelle: -80 pounds (33.06%)
Vicky: -76 pounds (30.89%)
Heba: -84 pounds (28.57%)
Ed: -83 pounds (24.78%)

The Biggest Loser Families Episode 12

After what can only be described as the dumbest move of the season the prior week, Amy was sent home in The Biggest Loser Families Episode 11.

The final five will be heading to New York City for makeover week. After their makeover, they’ll be able to do the Tyra Banks Show.

First up is the hair salon. Vicky goes red, while Ed gets highlights. After getting some new hairstyles, they meet Christian Soriano from Project Runway to assist them with new clothes, which turns into an emotioal reflection on how far they’ve come.

Once they get over the nerves of being on national TV with Tyra (because they haven’t been on national TV every week for two months), as always with the makeover shows, it’s also time for family reunions.

After, when they decide to go out for a night on the town, Bob and Jillian are on a screen in Times Square with a reminder: the scale will be waiting for them when they get back.

Renee, whose husband is in good shape, manages to get in a good workout with him, something she wouldn’t have been able to do before she lost all the weight.

Michelle goes to work out some with her dad, and she says that she and her mom can now move on and get past whatever got in the way before.

When they get back, Jillian lets them know she doesn’t care about anything but beating them into losing weight. Vicky says she’s concerned because Grand Canyon week was her second worst week of the season.

The challenge involves something suspended above water. They have to get inside bottomless glass cubes 15 feet above the water and stay there for as long as they can. The winner will get a two week trip for two to the Fitness Ridge Resort & Spa in St. George, Utah. Despite her initial confidence she would win this because it’s a spa challenge, Vicky sits down (too much of a wimp to go in the water) and is out first. After much debate and encouragement (i.e. Heba saying she’s going to choke her) from the others, she still refuses to jump in the water. Heba is out at 18 minutes. Alison tells Vicky there’s only one way down. Ed is next out, leaving mother and daughter left again. Everybody else is struggling, but Michelle’s just having a walk in the park. Renee’s out shortly after Ed at 32:23, and Michelle wins. Michelle jumps in the water.

And Vicky? She just stays there and pouts. The spotlight’s right on her, whether Michelle won the challenge or not. The thought of her children is not enough encouragement, so Ed hops back in the water to try to give her a point of reference. Following much drama and lots of tears, Vicky finally jumps and doesn’t die or anything.

After a long last chance workout, it’s time for the weigh-in.

Vicky: 176 pounds (-4, 2.22%)
Renee: 195 pounds (-4, 2.01%)
Michelle: 171 pounds (-5, 2.84%)
Ed: 250 pounds (-3, 1.19%)
Heba: 217 pounds (-7, 3.13%)

Ed and Renee are below the yellow line, and with blue team having the votes, that means Michelle’s the only hope left for the season to turn out well.

Ed realizes he’s (in theory) a bigger threat than Renee, so he wouldn’t be entirely surprised if Vicky turns on him.

Votes
Michelle: Ed
Heba: Renee
Vicky: Renee

Not surprisingly, Renee has been eliminated. Nonetheless, she appreciated the experience, particularly to be able to reunite with her daughter. And unlike the sham that was Big Brother 8, this was both a believable and also an enjoyable journey to watch. She is now down a total of 95 pounds. She’s done some public speaking and leads a fitness group at work.

The promo lets us know that America gets a vote, so with that in mind, I think it’s safe to say Michelle will be in the finals whether she is eliminated next week or not.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another recap of The Biggest Loser Families episode 13, which airs Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.

The Biggest Loser Families Episode 11

After Amy turned on her team the prior week, Vicky decided she hated her guts, treated her like an outcast, and called her as many vile, hateful things as she could think of in The Biggest Loser Families Episode 10. So how did Amy get even? Rather than voting her out when given the chance, she instead voted out Coleen, thus handing control of the game back over to Vicky. This just doesn’t add up.

Jillian guarantees that Vicky will still get revenge on Amy, whether she was dumb enough to save her last time or not.

Amy believes they’re moving on. Like adults. Heba lets us know Vicky’s not exactly an adult, though.

This week is NFL week. Jerry Rice and Steve Young are there to meet them. They will be doing some football training drills. The winner will be able to give $10,000 to the school of their choice from NFL Play 60, which helps fight childhood obesity. Once they’re done with the course, they’re informed of a twist. They don’t need the fastest time. Rather, they need the best improvement over their first time, as they’ll be running it again. Vicky slacked off during her first run, sensing that there would be a twist.

Heba: 5 seconds improvement
Amy: 7 seconds
Michelle: 11 seconds
Ed: 12 seconds
Renee: 17 seconds
Vicky: 23 seconds

Bob’s worried about Ed, who’s having trouble keeping up with the girls.

At the competition, the players will need to grab balls and put them in another player’s bin at the end of the field. When you reach 10, you’re out. Reward is a Pro Bowl package in Hawaii. As an added incentive, every time they actually catch the balls being launched from the machines, they win $500 cash (Ed manages to grab one). Their uniform numbers are the amount of weight they’ve lost so far.

Blue team targets black, Michelle first. She’s out pretty quickly. Black targets Ed, who’s at 4. Renee is black’s next target, and she’s quickly out of the game as well. Now it’s every man for himself. The easy thing is to just keep going after Ed since he’s more than halfway out. Amy’s adding balls quickly now that black’s out. With Ed at 9 balls, Vicky has the chance to take him out. Instead, she opts to give Amy her fifth, making Amy the last person in the country to realize Vicky’s after her. As much talk as there is about how great a player Vicky is at this game, it’s times like this that show she doesn’t get the game as well as she’d like. There are times to show your second face. A competition that doesn’t mean much isn’t one of those times. Amy finishes off Ed. Heba finishes off Amy, who says there aren’t any alliances on the blue team that she knows of (are you kidding me?). Now it’s between Vicky and Heba, who have few balls in their bins already because nobody has gone after them. Vicky beats Heba, and America reaches for the antacid.

Jillian doesn’t like that her team got bullied. Nobody bullies her team. Except her.

Rocco DiSpirito’s back again. He’s cooked a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. A great feast to indulge in, but also one of the unhealthiest meals of the year for most people. So instead, he’s going to be cooking a healthy alternative to Thanksgiving dinner. He starts with boiled turkey breast. The stuffing is made with turkey sausage, Ezekiel bread, and no butter. The apple pie is made with a crumble instead of a crust, sugar substitute, and a little corn starch. These modifications change the calories from 480 per serving to 190 for the turkey, 500 down to 120 for the apple pie, and 400 down to 170 for the stuffing, for a total savings of 900 calories (about 2/3). After dinner, they get to go see some videos from home, with words of encouragement as we head into the final weeks.

Bob hammers into his team’s heads that they need to get down to one black shirt left. Amy seems to be buying it, in spite of everything she’s seen and heard.

Amy: 168 pounds (-5, 2.89%)
Heba: 224 pounds (-7, 3.03%)
Ed: 253 pounds (-9, 3.44%)
Vicky: 180 pounds (-7, 3.74%)
Renee: 199 pounds (-8, 3.86%)
Michelle: 176 pounds (-10, 5.38%)

That leaves Amy and Heba below the yellow line. I think we all know how this is going to go down. Amy has been the biggest loser on campus so far, but she threw the game away last week with a ridiculous decision to keep Vicky around, alliance intact.

Votes
Michelle: Heba
Renee: Heba
Ed: Amy
Vicky: Amy

Black team supported Amy as they promised they would. Blue team turned on Amy as we all knew they would. I wonder if she’s figured out yet that Vicky’s in an alliance. Due to the tie, Amy has been eliminated since she has the lowest percentage of weight loss for the week. She’s down from a size 22 to a size 8. Her college is supporting her by giving her access to their athletic trainers.

The five contestants who remain will be going to New York City for makeover week.

The Biggest Loser Families Episode 10

Following Ed’s return to the game, which effectively made Amy C an endangered fifth wheel, Amy chose wisely as she turned on the blue team and voted out Brady in The Biggest Loser Families Episode 9. Interestingly, although the episode was uncomfortable to watch in parts, it nonetheless generated a large volume of conversation (mostly among people who hate Vicky), and resulted in the best ratings of the season.

Amy says she took out the second highest percentage in the house (herself being the highest). After the vote, Michelle tells her she can trust her, even if she maybe can’t trust her own team.

Vicky says that Amy is a “stupid backstabbing bitch” who messed up the whole game for “us” (us being her and her actual alliance presumably). Oh yeah, we can see the claws are going to come out and stay out already. Heba’s realized her alliance is dead, so she’s just going to work with Ed on staying above the yellow line.

Vicky tells us that, when she woke up, she was in a really bad mood (as if she isn’t in a bad mood the rest of the time). She puts up a sign letting Amy know her feelings: “Revenge. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” She decides she doesn’t want to say anything to Amy because if she says something it’s going to be mean and ugly. I missed the part that wasn’t apparently. Bob figures Vicky’s motivation of revenge is going to bite her eventually.

Bob goes to talk to Amy. He wants to just be supportive, regardless of whether she’s playing the game or not. His message is that it’s okay for her to take care of herself first for once. She promises him that she’s a really hard worker and won’t let him down.

Everybody’s standing outside as a time machine pulls up. Alison believes she’s from the 80s. They even got her talking like she’s from then. It’s like totally 80s week. The contestants get to dress up horribly to match, complete with legwarmers, entirely too tight shorts for Ed, and headbands.

The workouts are also going back to the 80s. Jillian’s got her team breakdancing. Bob hopes to get his team to have a little fun together. He has them do what’s apparently an 80s workout. Once that’s done, he wants to discuss just moving forward with them. He gives a speech; nobody else cares to comment.

The challenge is 80s trivia. A correct answer will allow them add water to someone else (I’d have opted for green slime). An incorrect answer will mean water is added to their barrel. The winner will get $5,000 in cash… or the chance to hit someone else with a one pound penalty. They start off holding 50% of their body weight.

The obesity rates have nearly doubled, tripled, or quadrupled since 1980 (this is an 80s trivia question?)? The answer is doubled. Ed is incorrect and gets water added to his barrel, an additional 25% of his body weight.

One of the most popular workout videos promised buns of…? Heba is correct with steel. She adds water to Coleen.

The National Institute of Health classified obesity as a disease in 1985. True or false? Coleen is correct with true. She adds water to Ed, as a sort of payback to Heba, and Ed’s now holding 100% of his body weight. With that, Ed’s out.

The percentage of Americans with diabetes has increased by what percent since 1980? 100%, 200%, or 300%? Coleen is incorrect, as the correct answer is 300%. She gets weight added to her barrel.

Twenty years ago, US teenage boys drank twice as much milk as soda. Today they drink twice as much soda as milk. True or false? Amy is correct with true. She adds water to Vicky. Now we are amused.

Today the most common women’s dress size is 14. In 1985, it was size 8, 10, or 12? Renee is incorrect, as the correct answer was 8. She gets water added. After that, Amy slips and is out. Coleen follows her.

Today women between 20-39 are eating an average of an extra 385 calories a day compared to the 1980s. That’s enough to gain 20 pounds, 26.7 pounds, or 35.8 pounds a year? Heba is incorrect, as the correct answer is 26.7. She has water added. Vicky drops after that, which Amy takes as good news for her.

Who won a Grammy for a music video that featured her working out in a leotard? Heba guesses Olivia Newton John (Let’s Get Physical) correctly. She adds water to Renee, who’s up to 125% of her body weight. After that, Heba loses her concentration and is out.

That leaves mother/daughter Renee and Michelle as the last two. Renee drops and lets Michelle win.

Bob tells Vicky she needs to bury the hatchet, preferably not in the back of Amy’s skull. She doesn’t want a loose cannon on her team. She also doesn’t want to hear about how blue’s still up 4-3 and she’s throwing away the advantage if she refuses to even make an effort.

Jillian’s goal with the last chance workout is to see how many people she can make cry. Looks like all of them. At least none of them quit, though. They just keep going as she throws more at them.

Coleen is already fitting in her goal closet item. Her medium top fits her, down from her starting size of XXL.

Amy apologizes to Vicky and says she didn’t lie but just changed her mind. She says she didn’t trust her, nor should she have. Vicky accepts her apology but doesn’t trust her at all. Heba thinks Amy sounds sincere but also realizes this makes it so both sides won’t vote her out because both sides still need her.

At the weigh-in, Michelle has to decide between the $5k and the one pound advantage. She takes the pound penalty instead of the money. She decides to give the penalty to Vicky.

Michelle: 186 pounds (-8, 4.12%)
Renee: 207 pounds (-8, 3.72%)
Ed: 262 pounds (-11, 4.03%)
Heba: 231 pounds (-7, 2.94%)
Coleen: 167 pounds (-3, 1.76%)

After Coleen weighs in, Coleen and Jillian have a breakdown. Bob can’t quite figure out why she’s already acting defeated with two people left.

Amy: 173 pounds (-8, 4.42%)
Vicky: 187 pounds (-6, +1, 2.59%)

Thanks to the one pound penalty, Vicky has fallen below the yellow line, alongside Coleen. Once again Amy will be the deciding vote. Vicky’s not expecting Amy to keep her considering all the swearing she’s done in her direction, nor should she be expecting it. Vicky is both a bigger threat and a bigger annoyance. Her strategy in the elimination room? She works too much and has kids at home. If that’s such a big obstacle, how does it make a difference whether she goes home now or weeks from now?

Votes
Michelle: Vicky
Renee: Vicky
Ed: Coleen
Heba: Coleen
Amy: Coleen

By a vote of 3-2, Coleen has been eliminated. I don’t get it. Last week’s vote shocked me some, but this takes the cake. Vicky has been so hateful toward Amy, and Coleen has 20 pounds less to lose. This means that Vicky lives to see another day, and she’s back in power in the game. Coleen is down from her starting pants size of 22 to a size 10 today.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of The Biggest Loser Families episode 11, which airs Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.

The Biggest Loser Families Episode 9

Following black team’s horrible performance in The Biggest Loser Families Episode 8, the girls stuck together and voted out their only guy, Phil. These people are making it difficult to root for either team.

In a quite thoroughly revolting display, the blue team proves why everybody hates them. Vicky is absolutely thrilled that Phil is gone and can’t control her giggling. She’s glad he’s gone because he would be a horrible role model for America. And apparently she would be a good one.

Bob’s got a challenge for his team. Whoever runs the farthest for three minutes will win a banana fudge sundae. That’s a prize? Amy C manages to outrun the rest. There’s a catch. This is really a Jello/Cool Whip commercial in disguise.

Alison’s got an announcement. They’re no longer in teams. Vicky warns us we’ll have 4 blue standing in the finale. Scary thought. Then Alison asks them to follow her to the scale. In walks Phil. Vicky says she’ll need to see a psych doctor. Too easy.

Behind Phil are the other eliminated contestants, some of whom some people may actually remember. Jerry is not there with them, but only because he had to work. Only one of them will be returning, and it will be based on the challenge rather than weight loss. Still, they plan to see how the at home players have been doing.

Jerry: 339 pounds (-41, 10.78%)
Shellay: 177 pounds (-39, 18.05%)
Tom: 266 pounds (-48, 15.28%)
LT: 300 pounds (-57, 15.96%)
Adam: 305 pounds (-35, 10.29%)
Stacey: 190 pounds (-31, 14.02%)
Ed: 277 pounds (-58, 17.31%)
Amy P: 182 pounds (-47, 20.52%)
Phil: 263 pounds (-68 pounds, 20.54%)

So far the at home challenge is between Phil and his wife, the last two people eliminated. Shellay is also putting up some good numbers.

Vicky says in front of everyone that she’d like anybody to come back… except Phil. Does the term self control mean anything to her? Afterward, his wife’s crying because of the comments, so he confronts Vicky. She says he doesn’t deserve a spot in the game. Because he’s lost the most weight? She doesn’t believe she’s done anything wrong, Brady threatens him, and Heba begins her screeching. Then Stacey begins crying as well because the blue team is full of putzes. According to Heba, this chaos is all just Phil’s fault, and they wouldn’t be acting like asshats if he weren’t there.

In addition to getting back in the game, the winner of the challenge will have immunity at the weigh in. The challenge is steps. First to 1,000 wins. Tom’s not sure he can even finish. Stacey’s confident because she does step aerobics. Ed takes an early lead and is the first to 100. Phil’s on his heels, back by about 10 steps. At a couple hundred steps, Phil trips, which could cost him. Stacey passes LT to take third place, and she’s gaining fast. She than overtakes Phil. Ed looks like he’s tiring, while Stacey looks like she’s just getting started. Ed is first to 500. As they get into the 800s, Stacey’s about 10 steps behind. LT wants to see Stacey win and begins coaching her to give her that extra push. It’s a close race to the finish. As they get to the end, Ed gets his second wind and begins sprinting. Ed wins the challenge and returns to the game, giving team evil a big boost because now they’ve got two pairs of couples, along with fifth wheel Amy C, who probably should be realizing what a mess she’s going to be in if she doesn’t take matters into her own hands.

Ali from season 5 is back to visit the contestants. She’ll be taking them to Cynthia Sass of Prevention magazine to learn some nutrition tips. They also get $1,000 worth of groceries, and Michelle lands a spot on Prevention’s cover along with Ali.

The good news for the black team is that they had such a bad week last week. That’s about the only good news for them, as they don’t have a shot unless two blue go below, preferably not Amy C.

Ed: 273 pounds (-4)
Heba: 238 pounds (-9, 3.64%)
Coleen: 170 pounds (-7, 3.95%)
Amy: 181 pounds (-6, 3.21%)
Michelle: 194 pounds (-6, 3.00%)
Renee: 215 pounds (-7, 3.15%)
Vicky: 193 pounds (-8, 3.98%)
Brady: 264 pounds (-6, 2.22%)

This puts Brady and Michelle below the yellow line. Michelle’s only hope is that Amy realizes it’s a bad idea to be allied with two closely connected couples who will get rid of her as soon as they need to.

They won’t be given any time to decide. Instead, they will be be heading straight to the elimination room to talk about it there. Only they don’t really talk very much about it.

Votes
Vicky: Michelle
Renee: Brady
Coleen: Brady
Ed: Michelle
Heba: Michelle
Amy: Brady

Rather than voting along team lines, Amy follows the advice of her mother from earlier in the show to be careful because the others are there for themselves. Since it’s a tie vote, Brady will be going home because he had the lowest percentage of weight loss for the week. He is down from a size 48 pants to a size 34.

Based on the large amount of comments over on the Vicky post tonight, I’d imagine there are a lot of people breathing a sigh of relief over this move, at least those who are still watching, although obviously Vicky would have been a preferred boot over Brady. It ain’t over yet, though. Vicky hates Phil’s guts just because he was trying to get a member of the opposite team eliminated. No doubt she will go ballistic over a member of her team turning.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of The Biggest Loser Families episode 10, which airs Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.

The Biggest Loser Families Episode 8

Amy P was eliminated in The Biggest Loser Families Episode 7, leaving her husband Philip to fend for himself.

Bob doesn’t buy that Brady only lost 3 pounds last week. He denies that it was intentional, and eventually Bob gets out of him that he’s not eating often enough. Bob believes that Brady’s intentions are good, but he doesn’t trust his wife Vicky.

It seems Dave Zinczenko from Men’s Health has a book to promote, so with that said, he’s there at the temptation for no real reason. At the challenge, contestants must choose the best of two bad foods based on which has the fewest calories. Reward is a 40 pound advantage at the next challenge. Both teams pick hot dogs over nachos, which is correct. The teams both pick penne and shrimp over spaghetti and sausage, and again both teams score a point, with sausage being high in calories. Coleen picks chicken fajitas, while Amy guesses chicken nuggets. The nuggets are correct, with the key word about the other choice’s badness being “the works.” Brady and Phil both guess the ham, egg, and cheese muffin over the bagel with light cream cheese, which is correct. Heba picks the chicken burrito with the works, while Michelle picks 18 light beers. The burrito turns out to be slightly fewer calories, and the blue team wins the challenge.

Heba has decided that Phil hates her personally. They confront him in front of his team in an attempt to get them to hate him, too. Phil’s as surprised about her reaction as anybody else, and she’s not doing herself any favors. She wants him to shut his mouth, not be a slimy snake in the grass, and just worry about losing weight. Someone get this chick a mirror so she can practice this speech to herself. Phil’s team thinks this whole thing is quite silly.

The teams arrive at the challenge and see cranes suspended in the air. Each team will be harnessed, with each player holding a rope. They will be supporting their own body weight. Black team will have to carry an additional 40 pounds since they lost the previous challenge, which will become more of an issue as the challenge goes on. The winning team will be able to make any player from the opposite team’s weight not count at the next weigh-in. Blue is carrying 932 pounds; black is carrying 918 pounds. Coleen’s fear of heights has the potential to play a role again. Their decision is based on that thought. Blue team decides based on putting the two heaviest people in the middle. At 25 minutes, Alison announces that one person from each team must let go at half an hour. Michelle wants to let go and convinces her team it’s the right thing to do. Blue team decides between Amy and Vicky and goes with Vicky. Phil immediately begins struggling as Michelle lets go. After about 15 minutes of this, Phil slips. Coleen’s not far behind him. It’s now all up to Renee to hold up the 918 pounds by herself. She, too, falls, and blue wins the challenge, a particularly huge victory because Brady’s likely to have a great week considering his lackluster performance the past couple weeks.

Phil is eliminated from consideration first because they think he will lose a lot of weight but will be the weakest link as far as percentages go. They also seem to really want to do something that’s not what the other team expects. Beyond that, they don’t give any indication what they plan to do. The other team believes it will either be Renee or Phil.

At the weigh-in, the blue team reveals that they have decided to make Michelle’s weight not count. She doesn’t understand their logic, but being considered a threat is not a good thing in this house.

Michelle: 200 pounds (-2)

It quickly becomes apparent Michelle was the wrong person to choose for her weight to be excluded.

Renee: 222 pounds (-3)
Coleen: 177 pounds (-2)
Phil: 269 pounds (-3)
Total: -8 pounds, 1.18%

Ultimately, Michelle lost the least, but it doesn’t end up mattering who has been chosen to not count because the entire team had a particularly bad week.

Brady: 270 pounds (-13)
Vicky: 201 pounds (-2)
Heba: 247 pounds (-6)
Amy: 187 pounds (-6)
Total: -27 pounds, 2.90%

Blue team has a pretty good week (and Alison points out that Amy’s done the best of everyone so far), while black team bombs pretty noticeably, with Brady scoring enough of a weight loss by himself to beat them. This should bode well for them next week, but someone will be going home this week. Renee is safe as the biggest loser from her team. Renee and Michelle need to decide between their day one teammate Coleen or the more logical long-term ally Phil.

Phil believes that the blue team tried to sabotage him and get him off his game, and maybe he played right into their hands.

Votes
Renee: Phil
Michelle: Phil
Phil: Michelle
Coleen: Phil

This is one of the dumbest votes I’ve seen. A Phil out of the game will contribute more than a Coleen whose head’s in the game, considering he’s got 100 pounds on her. Phil hopes to take everything he’s learned back home with him to teach his children. Since his 20th anniversary is right around the corner, he is buying a ring for his wife, with plans to get repledge their vows when he gets home. Phil is down 108 pounds to 225 pounds.

The Biggest Loser Families Episode 7

New teams were picked in The Biggest Loser Families Episode 6. Despite Heba’s poor judgment in picking her blue team, the black team lost the weigh-in, and Shellay was voted out for some reason.

Jillian brings her team to do a ropes course in hopes of reenergizing them. As long as Coleen doesn’t have a heart attack from being 45 feet above the ground. Bob, meanwhile, has his team hop on trapezes.

Following the drama where she claimed she wanted to go home last week, Jillian is trying to push Michelle so that she can learn to meet her mom half way.

They’ve got another activity: assailant defense class. They get to beat up some padded guy for a day.

The contestants pay a visit to Dr. H hoping for better news than they got week 1. Michelle has added 6 years to her life after 6 weeks, while her mother has added 22 years. Brady’s no longer a 72-year-old man in cardio, as he’s down now to 43. Vicky has lost 38 pounds of hydrated fat. Amy C’s down from 47 to 34, having dropped weight and smoking. Amy P has lost 20% of her abdominal volume. Coleen is now able to do what a 30-year-old is on the treadmill, an improvement over her start of an out of shape 55-year-old. Heba started at 52% body fat but is down 38 pounds of fat.

They see water when they approach the challenge, a bad sign. Each team has a circular balance beam. They have to walk around the balance beam, and every time a team member passes the laser, the team will score a point. Reward is videos from home. Amy C will sit out with an injured knee. Amy P falls pretty quickly, with Vicky close behind her. Heba’s next out. It’s all up to Brady for blue. Coleen is the first person down for the black team. Michelle and Renee are having a siesta but finally start moving eventually. Brady falls, so the whole blue team is out and will remain out unless everybody from black falls. Blue tries to smack talk because they don’t have anything else to do. After black scores 15 points, Michelle falls. One point later, Phil falls. Renee finishes it off, and the black team wins 25-0. Vicky says she doesn’t care because the prize is lame. I get her point, but I’m not sure how good an idea it is to say it in front of everyone. Bob’s not impressed with his team’s attitude, nor is Amy P.

It turns out it’s not just a video. It’s a video conference with their families. Eliminated player Jerry is also back and doing well.

Phil makes a mistake at the last chance workout and says “I can’t.” So Jillian gives him the option of getting back on the treadmill or throwing up. He picks the latter. On the other side of the gym, his wife is working out and working on breaking her legs in half.

Phil approaches Brady afterward and tells him that they should get rid of Heba. This will give them a reason to get rid of Amy P, not that they need one.

It’s time for the weigh-in.

Renee: 225 pounds (-7)
Michelle: 202 pounds (-7)
Coleen: 179 pounds (-8)
Phil: 272 pounds (-7)
Total: -29 pounds, 3.2%

Amy C: 193 pounds (-6)
Heba: 253 pounds (-5)
Vicky: 203 pounds (-8)
Amy P: 191 pounds (-2)
Brady: 283 pounds (-3)
Total: -24 pounds, 2.09%

Bit of a trainwreck for blue team. Vicky did well and is safe, but everybody else (aka Amy P) is fair game.

Heba, who picked this lackluster team to begin with, is pretending like Phil targeting her is the real reason she wants to vote out Amy P. Her case against being voted out is that Brady’s not pulling his weight. Interestingly, both of them should have quite impressive weeks next week should they stick around.
