The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 5

The abridged one hour The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 4 wasn’t enough to squeeze in much. The green team went to the unknowns for a week, and then the on campus team beat them in the challenge.

The unknowns are in their last workout at Fitness Ridge. After a month of being invisible, we may get to see them more than 5 minutes a show now. It’s there we get to see some drama with Q, walking away from the boxing ring because he is concerned with himself, not any team functions that are happening.

Having suffered a back injury years ago, which she has used as her excuse for weight gain, Hannah has now finally managed to get the courage to fully arch her back in the last chance workout. She says this moment has changed her life.

Jen & Jay return for the weigh in. They say everything over there was totally different, but either way, they are happy with the choice they made on the first day.

Jen: 236 pounds (-6, 2.48%)
Jay: 341 pounds (-9, 2.57%)
Green Total: 577 pounds (-15, 2.53%)

Arthur: 450 pounds (-9, 1.96%)
Jesse: 266 pounds (-3, 1.12%)
Blue Total: 716 pounds (-12, 1.65%)

Courtney: 282 pounds (-10, 3.42%)
Marci: 208 pounds (-3, 1.42%)
Aqua Total: 490 pounds (-13, 2.58%)

Olivia: 228 pounds (-5, 2.15%)
Hannah: 217 pounds (-3, 1.36%)
Purple Total: 445 pounds (-8, 1.77%)

Irene: 230 pounds (+6, 2.68%)
Don: 286 pounds (+6, 2.14%)
Orange/Black Total: 516 pounds (+12, 2.38%)

In spite of their decidedly lackluster performance, Arthur & Jesse are once again saved by someone throwing the weigh in. At least this week Don isn’t playing dumb, pretending he didn’t gain the weight on purpose. He doesn’t have the chance to because Irene admits she did it because he wants to go home. Good riddance. Black team was a waste of space, but hopefully they have actually learned something.

Rather than wasting time deliberating, Alison asks for a show of hands. They agree to unanimously eliminate Don.

The free ride is over for the unknowns. Tonight they make their way to the ranch. They start off with a 10-9 advantage. We are given total weight lost to date for each contestant.

Yellow Team
Justin: 57 pounds (15.62%)
Rulon: 63 pounds (13.29%)

Brown Team
Ken: 42 pounds (11.14%)
Austin: 54 pounds (13.64%)

Pink Team
Deni: 35 pounds (13.67%)
Sarah: 30 pounds (11.49%)

Red Team
Q: 39 pounds (8.92%)
Larialmy: 31 pounds (10.30%)

Grey Team
Moses: 75 pounds (17.05%)
Kaylee: 29 pounds (12.45%)

It’s clear red team is the weak link of the lot. On the other hand, Moses has put up huge numbers, which was to be expected following his week 1 loss of 41 pounds. This is really the type of result that Arthur should be making more of an effort to achieve. 1-2% a week will get him there eventually, but it’ll be a slow process.

Alison has an offer that may even the playing field. If the on campus players can lose more than the 48 pounds that they lost last week as a group (the two gains are not counted in these figures), they’ll all win immunity. This should be achieveable, as a couple of people should easily be able to step up their games, and Irene has two weeks worth to lose.

Just in case we have forgotten (I have), we are reintroduced to the two new trainers: Brett Hoebel and Cara Castranova.

The challenge is for the unknowns. They may have been stripped of immunity as a group, but the team that wins the challenge will get it back. Each team has a scale. They will put weight on someone else’s scale. Once a team has 500 pounds on their scale, they are out. Grey team wants the weakest teams to fall, so they will target the red team. They are not alone because everybody is ganging up on the red team. Red team is the first out. Q’s response is that he should get immunity because he needs it the most (because he tries the least), so all this talk about being family is out the window. Brown is the next to be teamed up against. In response, brown targets pink. Brown team is eliminated next, but the damage to the pink team was already done, so they are next. Yellow saved all their big weights for last, so although they started off with more weight on their scale, the math just doesn’t work for the grey team, so yellow comes from behind and wins immunity… by 5 pounds.

With two weigh ins squeezed into one show (hopefully… I don’t want to see to be continued), we’re already up to the last chance workout.

We start the weigh in with Bob & Jillian’s players.

Irene: 216 pounds (-3.57%)

Jen: 232 pounds (-4, 1.69%)
Jay: 331 pounds (-10, 2.93%)
Green Total: 563 pounds (-14, 2.43%)

Olivia: 224 pounds (-4, 1.75%)
Hannah: 210 pounds (-7, 3.23%)
Purple Total: 434 pounds (-11, 2.47%)

Courtney: 275 pounds (-7, 2.48%)
Marci: 200 pounds (-8, 3.85%)
Aqua Total: 475 pounds (-15, 3.06%)

Arthur: 444 pounds (-6, 1.33%)
Jesse: 257 pounds (-9, 3.38%)
Blue Total: 701 pounds (-15, 2.09%)

Their 63 pounds lost easily beats last week’s 48 pounds, so the on campus teams are safe for this week.

Brett & Cara’s teams weigh in next.

Justin: 292 pounds (-16, 5.19%)
Rulon: 394 pounds (-17, 4.14%)
Yellow Total: 686 pounds (-33, 4.59%, immune)

Larialmy: 259 pounds (-11, 4.07%)
Q: 385 pounds (-13, 3.27%)
Red Team: 644 pounds (-24, 3.59%)

Ken: 321 pounds (-14, 4.18%)
Austin: 326 pounds (-16, 4.68%)
Brown Total: 647 pounds (-30, 4.43%)

Kaylee: 195 pounds (-9, 4.41%)
Moses: 351 pounds (-14, 3.84%)
Grey Total: 546 pounds (-23, 4.04%)

Sarah: 222 pounds (-9, 3.90%)
Demi: 210 pounds (-11, 4.98%)
Pink Total: 432 pounds (-20, 4.42%)

Whatever the unknowns are doing, it’s working. They blew away the numbers we saw earlier from the on campus teams. Even with a very solid performance, Q & Larialmy are nonetheless up for elimination. Q asks for his wife to be sent home. Justin wants his word that Q is actually going to learn and not cheat his wife out of this opportunity. They’re all tired of dragging Q and don’t want a weak team. For all this talk, it’s pretty apparent they are going to honor the red team’s wishes.

Votes
Pink Team: Larialmy
Grey Team: Larialmy
Yellow Team: Larialmy

With 3 votes, Larialmy is not The Biggest Loser. From her starting weight of 301 pounds, Larialmy is now down to 227 pounds, for a total of 74 pounds lost.

From his starting weight of 309 pounds, Don is now down to 222, for a total weight loss of 87 pounds. His son has decided to stop disowning him.

The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 4

Both Dan and Don gained 9 pounds in The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 3. Although this meant the elimination of Dan, they pretended it was all an accident.

Alison warns the ranch teams that one team will be joining the unknowns for a week. It all depends how they can handle temptation, as plates of their favorite foods are presented to them. Each team will have 3 minutes alone to eat as much or as little as they chose. The team that eats the highest amount of calories can choose who spends the week with the unknowns. As two individuals, Irene and Don are paired up as a team. Aqua team talks about will power and how they are not eating anything. Jay and Jennifer also opt to not eat. Hannah & Olivia follow suit. Jesse may not be interested, but Arthur’s going to at least eat something, grabbing a piece of chicken for 150 calories. This is a smart play just in case nobody else eats anything, and it’s a hell of a lot healthier than eating a piece of pizza, one of the least healthy foods on the planet.

That 150 calories is enough to give the blue team the win. They choose to send the green team (Jennifer & Jay) to the unknowns for the week, saying that the strongest team is going over there. This team will not be immune and will be back at the end of the week.

Bob and Jillian confront Don. He insists that he didn’t gain 9 pounds on purpose. Apparently, he thinks she was born yesterday. 2 pounds, okay, maybe. 9 pounds? Go ahead and get angry, but you’re a liar if you deny that gaining over a pound a day on a weight loss show is intentional.

Over at Fitness Ridge, Jay & Jennifer find that there are some advantages. For example, whereas the ranch contestants cook their own meals, the unknowns have their meals prepared for them. All the math is done for them, so all they have to is place the order. This lets them have a worry free meal plan, although it’s probably not the best way to prepare them to fend for themselves. They also have maid service.

Jay & Jennifer rejoin the others for the challenge. It’s green against everybody else. Uncovering the plates, Alison once again reveals their favorite foods. Their job is to guess how many calories are in all the food combined. It is a 4 digit number. To guess, they must hoist a number up the top of the rig, 70 feet in the air. With it being 4 teams against 1, the ranch teams will have to lift 4 times as much weight. The prize is letters from home.

The on campus players get the first digit correct, meaning there are 8,000+ calories in these meals. Green team follows in their footsteps. The four teams are working together quite well, yelling out numbers, all within shouting distance of their opponents. Their not so mystery guess is not correct. The green team is also wrong, which means the campus team, guessing the same thing, is also wrong. Green team gets the second digit right first, with the ranch teams behind them on their next go. 20 minutes in, the green team gets their third number, but the campus teams are right behind them. Whoever grabs the last digit wins. Green is not correct. The on campus players, however, are correct, filling in the blanks with a total of 8754 calories.

D’oh. Tonight’s show is only an hour, with no results or anything of too much use. Apparently, it’s going to take an hour and a half to tell us that the country is more broke than it was this time last year.

The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 3

With the on campus team winning immunity on The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 2, so nobody ended up going home.

First thing’s first. We get to meet the new trainers. There, was that so hard?

The female trainer is Cara Castranova. She has been boxing since she was 5 and starting competing at age 20, becoming ranked #2 (aren’t there only 2 people in the ring?). Her parents died at a relatively young age, which she attributes to making her stronger.

Brett Hoebel is the other new trainer. He views personal training as a science, and thinks that his pre-med training helps him in that respect. Having been overweight as a teen, he knows where these contestants are coming from.

Justin & Rulon blame certain people for last week’s loss, like Q, who has lost 17 pounds off his 400+ pound frame during the past 2 weeks. Oh, and they were also disappointed in Austin. Any other enemies you feel like making at this early stage?

Following the oh so secret challenge of last week, it’s looking like this time they will be able to get to compete against each other directly. Except they still won’t see each other. Team unknown pulls up in black vehicles with tinted windows, then they get on the opposite side of a divider. That said, one player from each group will meet with the other face to face, along with Curtis Stone. Those two winners will be able to compete for a 2 pound advantage. The pop challenge involves an egg and a frying pan. They’ll have to balance the egg as long as they can on the upside down frying pan.

This challenge lasts about 3 seconds on one side. The unknowns toss their eggs at the other side, leaving Deni as the winner for their team. Not being immune, the other team has to actually care. Courtney drops. Then Arthur. Jen and Don follow. Hannah will not be getting her date with Curtis Stone. Irene is out next. Jay and Don drop. Marci wins the challenge for team aqua.

Now it’s the unknowns turn to meet with Doc H. Q has 248 pounds of excess fat, and his internal age is 51, almost double his actual age of 27. Rulon is 40% fat, while Justin is 43% fat. Justin’s inner age is 59, an additional 20 years. Not having learned from the 8 people in his family that have had bypass surgery, Ken has degenerative blood disease and high blood pressure. His son Austin, meanwhile, has more excess hydrated fat and higher blood pressure than his dad. His inner age is 44, more than double his actual age of 20. Sarah has the highest body fat of anybody on the show, 58%. She has used her car accident as her excuse for why she didn’t move her body. Moses has a 49% risk of having a stroke in the next 5 years, and a 90% risk of being a full fledged diabetic. His uncles on his mom’s side all died in their 40s and 50s. They estimate he will die on April 23, 2025.

Jillian says that Dan and Don are not engaged, and she’s wondering how much they have really learned. Dan holds in his pain of losing his child, not wanting to discuss it with anyone else.

As the challenge winners, Deni and Marci get to meet Curtis Stone. Their challenge will be to tell him how many calories are in the food they prepare. They cook squash salad, kinwa, and halibut for the appetizer and the entree. There is 0 salt in this meal. After eating, they get to cook some dessert, poached pears with a bunch of flavoring such as cinnamon, vanilla, and orange juice. There is not any added sugar.

Marci offers to start, saying there were 480 calories. All Deni has to do now is go above or below, and she says 440. The actual calorie count was 572, giving the aqua team the 2 pound advantage.

The challenge is to haul water and dump it into someone else’s barrel. Once their barrel is full, they’re out. The drums, when filled with water, weigh over 100 pounds, and they will strap them around their waists. The winning team gets the only vote at this week’s elimination. Teammateless Irene will be competing by herself, with nothing to even the odds. Irene and Courtney target the blue team. Purple team follows suit, eliminating the blue team before they even have a chance to get up the hill. They have all made an arrangement to keep Irene in the game, so she wins the challenge.

This leads to a discussion of how Dan’s ready to go home, and he’s already thinking of a plan B. Would be nice to get through plan A first. He even offers to quit the game if he’s above the yellow line so he can let somebody else stay. Jillian could have taught him how to count calories in 5 minutes. She’d like the opportunity to do more than that. He says that, as a captain of a police department, he supervises life and death situations. What about his own?

The unknowns weighed in moments ago, and we get a very quick blur of that weigh in.

Ken: 344 pounds (-13, 3.64%)
Rulon: 415 pounds (-10, 2.35%)
Justin: 316 pounds (-10, 3.07%)
Kaylee: 209 pounds (-5, 2.34%)
Deni: 224 pounds (-9, 3.86%)
Sarah: 235 pounds (-8, 3.29%)
Larialmy: 275 pounds (-8, 2.83%)
Austin: 347 pounds (-15, 4.14%)
Q: 401 pounds (-19, 4.52%)
Moses: 376 pounds (-11, 2.84%)

For all their talk of how the other teams need to step it up, Justin & Rulon placed last.

Irene will decide who stays and who goes, unless she falls below the yellow line, in which case she will be eliminated. The Aqua team has a 2 pound advantage.

Courtney: 292 pounds (-6, 2.01%)
Marci: 211 pounds (-7, 3.21%)
Aqua Total: 503 pounds (-13, -2, 2.91%)

Irene: 224 pounds (-8, 3.45%)

Jen: 242 pounds (-8, 3.20%)
Jay: 350 pounds (-14, 3.85%)
Green Total: 592 pounds (-22, 3.58%)

Arthur: 459 pounds (-4, 0.86%)
Jesse: 269 pounds (-9, 3.24%)
Blue Total: 728 pounds (-13, 1.75%)

Olivia: 233 pounds (-6, 2.51%)
Hannah: 220 pounds (-6, 2.65%)
Purple Total: 453 pounds (-12, 2.58%)

Don: 289 pounds (+9, 3.21%)
Dan: 272 pounds (+9, 3.42%)
Black Total: 561 pounds (+18, 3.31%)

With Arthur sick and only able to get into the gym twice, I thought for sure the blue team was going to be below the yellow line. Then Dan & Don threw the weigh in. If you don’t want to be there, go ahead and leave. Shouldn’t have taken a spot someone else wanted. If nothing else, at least that’s the theory they are now utilizing, sacrificing one of their own so Jesse can stay. Bob and Jillian are offended and disappointed. Adding insult to insult, Dan & Don play dumb, as if this weight gain were accidental. If you’re going to gain weight, aim for a couple pounds. 9 pounds each is a little blatantly obvious.

Vote
Irene: Dan

With 1 vote, Dan is not The Biggest Loser. He considers his daughter to be more important than world class trainers. That’s why you make an effort on the ranch so that you can learn the tool you need to get and stay healthy. He is now down to 215 pounds from his starting weight of 287.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 4, which airs Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.

The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 2

We never did find out who the two new trainers are in The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 1, but 10 people gained immunity by picking them, while Ana became the first casualty of the voting room.

Alison walks in, and already they know something bad’s about to happen. She tells them that the other 5 teams lost more than these 6 did. Let the vagueness continue. With that, they are given a challenge: if they lose a higher percentage of weight loss, they will all have immunity. Additionally, the group that wins the weigh-in wins $10,000. Not to be left out, the unknown teams also get to participate in that challenge.

Bob sees Marci as someone who’s carrying around a lot of guilt, for letting her daughter get up to over 400 pounds. While Courtney tries to deflect the bullets from her mom, it’s fair to place at least part of the blame on the parents if a 22 year old has abused herself that much.

Arthur, who it would be fair to call a Twinkie away from a heart attack, is having a great workout, managing to run at 5 miles an hour on the treadmill.

Denise was teased by her father growing up, having been called Dumb Deni because her siblings got better grades. She’ll use that as her motivation.

Jillian blames Jay for making his daughter feel guilty and, therefore, unable to lose weight. She needs him to tell her he’s going to do it, with or without her help. I don’t get it. Just do it. Using your father as an excuse isn’t going to help you any.

The ranch contestants receive a gift from their opponents: two dozen donuts. They take them outside and crush them. Cops Dan & Don would like to see a little more originality. Although grabbing the donuts off the ground is tempting to Arthur, he is able to resist, even though the three second rule dictates he is allowed to partake.

Doc H’s first visit of the season is never good. Courtney’s inner age is 40, 18 years older than her chronological age. Want to know when Dan is going to die? March 29, 2020. The murder weapon: cigarettes, sugar, chocolate, and corn chips. This is a crime the brothers may want to consider solving. Arthur has 370 pounds of excess hydrated fat, even after losing 150 pounds. His inner age is 60, compared to his actual age of 34.

The unknowns send another package, which says “Play me.” It’s all about taunting them.

At the challenge, the ranch contestants have to beat the time set by the unknowns. They will have to get everyone from the beach across the canal using rafts to build a bridge. The unknowns completed the challenge in 38:23 a few hours before. The winning team will receive a 3 pound advantage. Alison allows them some time to strategize. Well, the good thing is they have plenty of strategies. The bad thing is they haven’t picked one. Nobody is emerging as a leader, and they can’t communicate with each other. A few people are standing on shore with their hands on their hips, apparently just waiting for the clock to finish ticking. They’re not even going to be able to make this remotely interesting. They don’t all get halfway across before time expires.

With Jillian sick, Bob’s left to deal with the contestants on his own. He thinks 3 pounds is a lot, although it can be overcome.

I was thinking we were gonna see the unknown trainers this week. Just shadowed out people who we can only see from the back and side. Maybe next week then.

Bob doesn’t like Alison’s use of the phrase that the unknowns destroyed them at the challenge. The problem with his objection is that her term is accurate. They fell apart fairly humiliatingly, not so much because they are the underdogs but more because they could not get their act together and work, well, together.

Rulon continued his losses, with 17 pounds lost this week. Moses lost 12 pounds, for a 2 week total of 53. In total, the 10 of them lost 79 pounds. The 3 pound advantage brings them to 82 pounds, for a total percentage of weight loss of 2.46%, a decent number for week 2, but not insurmountable. In order to beat that, the ranch team needs to lose more than 78 pounds, a little more than 7 pounds each. Arthur’s excited, saying that their goal was 140 pounds.

Irene: 232 pounds (-10, 4.13%)

Don: 280 pounds (-8, 2.78%)
Dan: 263 pounds (-5, 1.87%)
Black Total: 543 pounds (-13, 2.34%)

Olivia: 239 pounds (-6, 2.45%)
Hannah: 226 pounds (-6, 2.59%)
Purple Total: 465 pounds (-12, 2.52%)

Jennifer: 250 pounds (-8, 3.10%)
Jay: 364 pound (-10, 2.67%)
Green Total: 614 pounds (-18, 2.85%)

Courtney: 298 pounds (-10, 3.25%)
Marci: 218 pounds (-6, 2.68%)
Aqua Total: 516 pounds (-16, 3.01%)

Arthur: 463 pounds (-13, 2.73%)
Jesse: 278 pounds (-8, 2.80%)
Blue Total: 741 pounds (-21, 2.76%)

With 90 pounds lost, the on campus players have lost 2.81%, easily enough to beat the unknowns. They beat them by 11 pounds, which is the amount they lost by last week. Everybody is immune, and they’ve got $10k to split between themselves.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 3, which airs Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.

The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 1

As the final season (or so we assume) for Jillian Michaels, The Biggest Loser season 11 promises to be an interesting one.

Opera singer Olivia hopes to no longer be the fat lady singing. Moses, age 46, is worried that his family history is that people pass away around his age. Dan and Don are twin brothers. They are cops who won’t be chasing any fleeing suspects. Rulon was an Olympic gold medalist 10 years ago. At the time, he was close to 300 pounds but pretty solid. Now he’s just round. Courtney has already lost over 100 pounds but is still is just at the start of her journey.

Ken has 9 family members who have had bariatric surgery, which nonetheless has not served as reason enough to lose weight. Sarah lost another pregnancy two months ago due to her weight. Arthur is as big around as he is tall, still over 500 pounds with a BMI of about 75 in spite of 139 pounds of weight loss in the past year and a half. Don’s son refuses to see him, in fear of losing him anyway.

We start off with the first weigh in.

Ken: 377 pounds
Austin: 396 pounds
Brown Total: 773 Pounds

Courtney: 323 pounds
Marci: 238 pounds
Aqua Total (what’d you run out of colors?): 565 pounds

Ana: 255 pounds
Irene: 255 pounds
Orange Total: 510 pounds

Larialmy: 301 pounds
Q: 437 pounds
Red Total: 738 pounds

Sarah: 261 pounds
Deni: 256 pounds
Pink Total: 517 pounds

Arthur: 507 pounds
Jesse: 293 pounds
Blue Total: 800 pounds

Jennifer: 278 pounds
Jay: 400 pounds
Green Total: 678 pounds

Olivia: 261 pounds
Hannah: 248 pounds
Purple Total: 509 pounds

Kaylee: 233 pounds
Moses: 440 pounds
Grey Total: 673 pounds

Dan: 287 pounds
Don: 309 pounds
Black Total: 596 pounds

Justin: 365 pounds
Rulon: 474 pounds
Yellow Total: 839 pounds

They will not be working out tonight. Instead, they will compete in their first challenge. The challenge will determine who their trainers will be. But if they thought they were choosing between Bob and Jillian, they’d be wrong. They will choose either Bob and Jillian or two newbies.

The choice is clear. As experienced as these new trainers may be at training people, they have no clue what it’s like to be on the ranch, whereas Bob and Jillian have been doing this for 10 seasons (9 for Jillian), plus the time they spent in Australia training contestants there. So to make the contestants actually consider the alternative, an offer is put forward. Choose the new trainers, and you are immune for 4 weeks.

Each team has a manual treadmill. As a team, they have to run a 5k. The order in which they finish will determine the order in which they choose their trainers. 6 teams get Bob & Jillian, and the remaining 5 get the new trainers, who they still haven’t seen yet.

Yellow team reaches 1 kilometer. Grey team is behind them, followed by aqua. Yellow retains the lead through 2k, and their size does not appear to be slowing them down. Grey and aqua remain behind them. Yellow is the first to 3k, with grey and aqua still in second and third. Yellow is the first to hit 4 as well. Yellow team ends up winning the challenge in 40 minutes, which will guarantee them at least 1 week of immunity. Grey team places second. Aqua takes third. Green places fourth. Brown team finishes fifth, making them the last team guaranteed to have a choice. Purple team finishes sixth, so they are the last team guaranteed to have the choice of Bob & Jillian. Pink, red, orange, blue, and black round out the standings.

Bob & Jillian: Courtney & Marci, Jennifer & Jay, Olivia & Hannah, Ana & Irene, Arthur & Jesse, Dan & Don
Unknowns + 4 weeks immunity: Justin & Rulon, Kaylee & Moses, Ken & Austin, Sarah & Deni, Larialmy & Q

With 5 of 8 teams choosing the unknowns, that leaves orange, blue, and black teams with Bob & Jillian.

Bob asks the question. Where is everyone? Oh, by the way…

Both Bob and Jillian seem to think passing up immunity was a mistake. There’s a simple reality here. Depending on how/whether they opt to shake things up, 4 of the 12 people there are going home over the next 4 weeks, which could further be a disadvantage for whoever does survive.

Jillian starts off the workout saying she’s not going to yell. That’ll last.

Bob thinks Courtney’s a machine who could go all the way.

Now it’s time to end the mystery, sort of, as we head to the unknown trainers’ camp at Biggest Loser Fitness Resort at Fitness Ridge in Malibu. One of the new trainers has a pre-med and science background, which he considers beneficial because training is a science. The female trainer is a boxer, who won the Golden Gloves twice. As to what their names are, well, that’ll have to wait.

Arthur collapses, complaining about not being able to move his leg yada yada. He’ll get no sympathy from Bob & Jillian. He needs something for his leg? No problem. Here’s a treadmill.

The contestants at camp unknown weighed in first. Rulon & Justin lost 59 pounds. Moses lost 41 pounds, a new one week record. How do those on the ranch stack up?

Courtney: 308 pounds (-15, 4.64%)
Marci: 224 pounds (-14, 5.88%)
Aqua Total: 532 pounds (-29, 5.17%)

Arthur: 476 pounds (-31, 6.11%)
Jesse: 286 pounds (-7, 2.39%)
Blue Total: 762 pounds (-38, 4.75%)

Jennifer: 258 pounds (-20, 7.19%)
Jay: 374 pounds (-26, 6.50%)
Green Total: 632 pounds (-46, 6.78%)

Olivia: 245 pounds (-16, 6.13%)
Hannah: 232 pounds (-16, 6.45%)
Purple Total: 477 pounds (-32, 6.29%)

Ana: 246 pounds (-9, 3.53%)
Irene: 242 pounds (-13, 5.10%)
Orange Total: 488 pounds (-22, 4.31%)

Don: 288 pounds (-21, 6.80%)
Dan: 268 pounds (-19, 6.62%)
Black Total: 556 pounds (-40, 6.71%)

That puts Ana & Irene below the yellow line, and the rest of the teams have 1 hour to decide which of them to send home. Ana wants her daughter to stay, but Irene thinks her mom has greater health needs for being there.

With 3 votes, Ana is not The Biggest Loser. From her starting weight of 255 pounds, Ana has dropped to 205 pounds.

Perhaps next week we’ll see the new trainers for more than 2 minutes.

The Biggest Loser Season 10 Winner

Frado and Patrick finished above the yellow line in The Biggest Loser Season 10 Episode 12. That leaves America to choose between Ada and Elizabeth to round out the final three.

It goes without saying who America chose. Although she had trouble embracing it, Ada was one of the strongest competitors of the season, whereas Elizabeth was below the yellow line week after week after week and never really seemed to be putting in the same effort as the others. By an overwhelming majority, Ada is the winner of America’s vote.

Now the contestants competing for the at home prize can start weighing in.

Elizabeth: 173 pounds (-71, 29.10%)
Adam: 220 pounds (-182, 45.27%)
Allie: 248 pounds (-74, 22.98%)
Tina: 191 pounds (-72, 27.38%)
Brendan: 245 pounds (-117, 32.32%)
Sophia: 207 pounds (-65, 23.90%)
Lisa: 191 pounds (-97, 33.68%)
Anna: 221 pounds (-109, 33.03%)
Jesse: 203 pounds (-166, 44.99%)
Burgandy: 167 pounds (-64, 27.71%)
Rick: 185 pounds (-165, 47.14%)
Jessica: 190 pounds (-92, 32.62%)
Aaron: 296 pounds (-172, 36.75%)
Mark: 208 pounds (-213, 50.59%)

The Biggest Loser at home winner of $100,000 is Mark. This comes as no surprise seeing as he’s had the lead all season long, having been eliminated the one time he fell below the yellow line.

That brings us down to the finalists battling for the big prize. As the biggest loser on the ranch, Frado picks the order.

Frado: 205 pounds (-162, 44.14%)
Ada: 159 pounds (-99, 38.37%)
Patrick: 219 pounds (-181, 45.25%)

The Biggest Loser Season 10 winner is Patrick House, now $250,000 richer.

Alison tells us we are in for a surprise for next season, which starts January 4th (3 weeks from now). For starters, there will be two new trainers joining the show next week, presumably as part of the departure of Jillian Michaels. This will mark the first time in The Biggest Loser history that Bob and Jillian are not alone. Well, except for the first two times in seasons 3 and 4. Contestants will be given the choice between training with Bob and Jillian on the ranch or training with the two unknown trainers in a secret location. For me, the choice is obvious.

Jillian Michaels Quits The Biggest Loser (Again)

Jillian Michaels announced on Twitter her plans to leave The Biggest Loser after next season.

She said that “season 11 of Biggest Loser will be my last 🙂 have to finish out my contract.” As for her replacement, “they already hired her. Using my last season to help launch her in season 11.”

Her explanation for wanting to leave is that “Shooting Losing It also had big impact on me. Living with kids I saw first hand what I was missing.”

She added, “I want to take a year off TV and focus on becoming a mommy and doing more charity work.”

Michaels had previously left the show after season 2, only to come back as a surprise twist in season 4, where she led the underdog black team to the end.

The Biggest Loser Season 10 Episode 12

Two people were eliminated in The Biggest Loser Season 10 Episode 11. First, Brendan fell blow the red line. Then, Mark was voted out.

Everybody returns home, with videos from Alison in hand, but it’s not a challenge or temptation. Rather, they will be able to view their story this season with their families.

For all the drama on the ranch, Ada is finally able to open up to her parents, or at least let the DVD do so for her. She’s still not entirely convinced they’re there for her, but at least they are talking about it.

Once everybody’s done watching their videos, Alison has a message for them. Of course she does. They’re all going to have to run a marathon.

Patrick is treating this like it’s his job. Since he’s unemployed, he really doesn’t have anything to lose by doing nothing but focusing on winning this show.

Elizabeth, however, says she’s lost 6 pounds in a month. Jillian’s willing to bet she hasn’t lost anything. Then she looks in her freezer, where she sees ice cream and burritos, though Elizabeth claims it’s all her boyfriend. Adding insult to injury, her workouts have been limited. She can’t even run for 5 minutes, let alone 26.2 miles.

Ada remains a machine, and her goal is to beat Tara’s time. Jillian has a warning for Tara: Ada’s going to crush her time. Regardless, Ada continues to underestimate herself.

Once they cross the finish line, they will have the opportunity to donate $10,000 to the charity of their choice. Ada’s obviously in the lead and never looking back. Patrick and Frado have decided to run it together in the middle of the pack, although eventually Patrick breaks away. Bringing up the rear is Elizabeth, whose goal is simply to finish. Achieving her goal, Ada crosses the finish line at 4:38:47, about 18 minutes ahead of Tara’s time, even with the 6 minute bathroom break. Patrick crosses in second place with a time of 5:45:51. Frado takes the third place prize in 5:51:13. In fourth place, Elizabeth crosses the finish line in 7:27:07, but at least she finished.

Once again, half the people will fall below the yellow line. America will be choosing between the two people who fall below it.

Elizabeth: 177 pounds (-15, 7.81%)
Frado: 221 pounds (-27, 10.89%)
Ada: 167 pounds (-12, 6.70%)
Patrick: 244 pounds (-35, 12.54%)

After the strong performance by the boys and an unusual stumble by Ada, Frado and Patrick are the first two finalists. That leaves it up to America to choose between Ada and Elizabeth. For Elizabeth, this is part of her pattern of falling below the yellow line, whereas this is Ada’s first time in the bottom.
