Since she had pretty much given up, it was no surprise that Tina was sent home in The Biggest Loser Season 10 Episode 3.
They walk outside to find Alison… and 400 cupcakes. But wait. There’s more. At the end of this week, two of them will be going home. At this weigh in, there will be two lines: a yellow line right in the middle, plus a red line right at the bottom with no hope of escape.
The temptation today is for a 1 pound advantage. That’s it? No. For every week they keep it, it grows another pound. They will grab a cupcake. Under the cupcakes will either be the prize, or a clue to the prize. Rick, Adam, and Jesse are all playing. Elizabeth joins them. The first clue narrows their choices down to just two shelves, although there are still a lot of cupcakes. Clue number two cuts that by an additional 2/3. The third clue tells them it’s a pink cupcake, which narrows it down to 4 or 5. Clue number 4 brings us down to one with a raspberry, which is a choice of two. Rick may have the clue, but he thinks about it a bit too long, allowing Adam to grab the winning cupcake at random despite being a clue behind. In all, he’s eaten 1350 calories.
To help them learn some healthier options for their desserts, it’s Curtis Stone. They don’t have to avoid all sweets. For that matter, they don’t even have to avoid all cupcakes. Although some of these cupcakes have 700 calories, the one Curtis made only has 100 calories. They use egg whites instead of eggs, honey instead of sugar, wheat flour instead of white flour, and raspberry puree for the frosting.
Adam’s worried that he just put a target on his back, and the theory of the others is that, the longer he holds it, the bigger that target will get. The alliance of three guys is onboard with the plan of getting rid of him, and Ada tells them she is as well.
Strangely, Bob and Jillian don’t flip out and threaten to kill anybody after they find out the results of the temptation. Don’t hate the player; hate the game.
Jillian has this theory. Asthma isn’t really the thing holding Elizabeth back. She has a fear that she’ll end up dying like her father.
Before coming to the ranch, Frado was taking 7 injections a day and 6 or 7 pills twice a day. After being on this routine for just 4 weeks, he is now off all of his medications.
During the workout, Mark hurts his back on the rowing machine, leaving himself barely able to walk.
Adam has decided not to use his advantage this week.
Mark: 361 pounds (-8, 2.17%)
Elizabeth: 229 pounds (-6, 2.62%)
Patrick: 356 pounds (-10, 2.73%)
Lisa: 260 pounds (-7, 2.622%)
Aaron: 419 pounds (-12, 2.78%)
Rick: 297 pounds (-9, 2.94%)
Jesse: 321 pounds (-8, 2.43%)
From this point, every time somebody weighs in, one person is safe, and one person is not.
Burgandy: 213 pounds (-5, 2.29%) – putting Mark below the yellow line
Ada: 224 pounds (-10, 4.27%) – putting Burgandy below the yellow line
Jessica: 254 pounds (-7, 2.68%) – putting Jesse below the yellow line
Brendan: 315 pounds (-11, 3.37%) – putting Elizabeth below the yellow line
Frado: 317 pounds (-20, 5.93%) – putting Lisa below the yellow line
Adam: 346 pounds (-10, 2.81%) – putting Jessica below the yellow line
Sophia: 250 pounds (-2, 0.79%) – putting herself below the red line
With the lowest percentage of weight loss, Sophia has fallen below the red line, and is automatically eliminated from the show.
Of the 7 people who have fallen below the yellow line, 5 of them are women. This is getting old. Ada is again the only woman who is safe.
As the biggest loser for the week, Frado will have the opportunity to save one person.
Mark has received medical clearance following his back injury. He thinks he’ll be able to do the challenge.
Next we get a Subway commercial. I don’t know. I went there and tried to order breakfast the other day. They didn’t have any eggs or egg whites. So why bother being open at 10AM? I’ve lost interest in trying it.
Ada, who placed toward the top of the leaderboard this week, didn’t feel that her performance was good enough. Jillian’s not happy with that concept. Her fear stems from her brother drowning when she was 2 or 3 years old, and her parents blaming her for it. Time to move on and get some new parents.
Before the challenge, Bob invites those who are below the yellow line to his house. He keeps food with a low shelf life in his house, two weeks at most. They will be eating a vegan meal. Sounds wicked boring.
Burgandy is having trouble with her leg. Dr. H tells her no challenge. He doesn’t care about the yellow line, although that’s her very first question.
Frado has decided to take the easy way out, which I can’t say I blame him for. Jessica finished closest to the yellow line, so he will be saving her.
The challenge is to unroll 300 feet of carpet weighing over 900 pounds. The two guys who were in danger… aren’t any more. Mark jumps off to a lead. Jesse’s going for the runner up spot. The girls will have to battle it out for last. Mark finishes first, with Jesse right behind him. Lisa places third. That leaves Elizabeth in danger alongside Burgandy. Two women yet again. I grow wary of these chicks getting beat every week. Before this becomes a sausagefest, the producers may consider reconsidering this twist.
Votes
Frado: Burgandy
Ada: Elizabeth
Rick: Burgandy
Adam: Burgandy
Brendan: Burgandy
With 4 votes, Burgandy is not The Biggest Loser. That means one less player in the game. For now. The five people who were eliminated prior to the season are back.
Sophia is down to 225 pounds from her starting weight of 272 pounds. Now she has more of a reason to cheer. Burgandy is down from her starting weight of 231 pounds to 180 pounds today.
