American Idol Season 9 Episode 30

American Idol Season 9 Episode 29 turned out to be a non-elimination leg in which Michael Lynche surprisingly enough received the fewest votes. Tonight the top 9 perform Elvis songs with the guidance of Adam Lambert.

Crystal Bowersox
Song: Saved
Randy: Thought I was listening to somebody’s record.
Ellen: Fantastic.
Kara: Another solid performance. Loved the up tempo with the personality coming across.
Simon: Didn’t fall into the karaoke trap. Original. Sounded great.

Andrew Garcia
Song: Hound Dog
Randy: Not good karaoke.
Ellen: Liked how much you changed it.
Kara: Felt like the mic was your crutch.
Simon: Lazy. Like the part in a musical nobody wants to hear.

Tim Urban
Song: Can’t Help Falling in Love
Randy: I actually liked it.
Ellen: Really enjoyed it.
Kara: Favorite Tim performance ever.
Simon: Managed to go from zero to hero in two weeks.

Lee DeWyze
Song: A Little Less Conversation
Randy: In the zone.
Ellen: So current. Get better every time.
Kara: Never seen you go for it vocally like tonight. Need to be a little more playful.
Simon: On the money.

Aaron Kelly
Song: Blue Suede Shoes
Randy: Fit your voice better for the last half.
Ellen: A for effort. Really good job.
Kara: Like you out of your comfort zone. Seemed younger.
Simon: Very old fashioned. Like somebody at a high school doing a concert.

Siobhan Magnus
Song: Suspicious Minds
Randy: Kinda liked the intro. Really liked the vocals in the second half.
Ellen: Agree the second half was what you do best.
Kara: Confusing. Love the second voice, too.
Simon: Like you were put into a time machine. Erratic. Screechy.

Michael Lynche
Song: In the Ghetto
Randy: A little sleepy but hot vocals.
Ellen: Glad we saved you.
Kara: Beautiful song sang well.
Simon: A million billion times better than last week.

Katie Stevens
Song: Baby What You Want Me to Do
Randy: Nice vocals. Entertaining.
Ellen: Man you can sing.
Kara: Think you just showed us.
Simon: Very loud. A bit annoying.

Casey James
Song: Laudy Miss Claudy
Randy: Nothing new but another solid performance.
Ellen: Not as exciting as I would have liked but always good.
Kara: Fell short.
Simon: Wasted opportunity with a forgettable song. But a good vocal.
