Smallville Moving to Friday

It’s not entirely clear what Smallville, one of The CW’s most popular shows, did to deserve this punishment. Nonetheless, it is moving to the network’s currently barren Friday night, which is being rebuilt again since The Game and Everybody Hates Chris were cancelled (the year after WWE was sent away to the now rapidly growing MyNetwork TV). It’s unlikely Smallville will be able to survive past season 9 with this move.

In Smallville’s current time slot, new series Vampire Diaries will air.

American Idol Season 8 Winner

The final two, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, each performed three songs in American Idol 8 Episode 39. Tonight, one of them will be crowned the American Idol Season 8 winner based on America’s votes.

Tonight’s show will run long. On purpose. The producers know it, and they have just two words for anyone who’s recording the show hoping to see who wins: tough noogies.

Now here comes the two hours of filler. It’ll be interesting to see whether anything actually worthwhile happens in the meantime. Outlook not good.

After the record vote of nearly 100 million (closing in on the number of votes for a Presidential election), Kris Allen is the American Idol Season 8 winner.

As always, American Idol ranked as the #1 show on television by far this year, so it will obviously be returning next January for season 9.

NBC Midseason 2010 Schedule

Chuck will be taking over Heroes’ time slot at midseason. The Biggest Loser will be truncated to 90 minutes to make way for new show 100 Questions (they’re probably better off just keeping Loser at two hours). New shows Day One, Mercy, and The Marriage Ref will premiere. A new edition of The Celebrity Apprentice will air, and let’s just hope this one isn’t rigged so some raving lunatic wins again. The schedule will be preempted from February 12-28 for the Winter Olympics.
