Helen is a very outgoing, friendly and caring mom of three. She has always put her friends and family before herself, which has left her with little time to care for her own needs, including a proper diet. Helen fell into the fast food routine; it was simple and worked with her busy schedule. She was not always heavy and once the weight was gained she found herself not able to enjoy the physical activities she once loved to do. Now instead of taking a hike, she finds herself sitting on the couch watching the Travel Channel while eating ice cream. Helen says she and her husband have become each other’s enablers and this only makes it harder to lose the weight. Helen and her husband keep the fridge stocked with all their favorite junk foods that she cannot resist. Helen knows she needs to be on the show to become a better role model for the people she loves, and above all, for herself.
Helen’s latest choice in allowing the house to send her daughter home makes me sick. I thought Helen was a supportive, caring mother, but she showed the exact opposite last night. Her daughter was heavier than her and had her whole life ahead of her. She clearly needed the house more than Helen did. I am disgusted by Helen’s selfishness – especially when the other parent/child teams would never dream of sending their son/daughter home before them. I hope she goes home next.
IT WAS NOT HELEN’S CHOICE TO LET SHANON GO HOME. IF YOU WOULD HAVE WATCHED THE SHOW & OPENED YOUR EARS, YOU WOULD HAVE HEARD SHANON ASK TO GO HOME!!!!! IT MAKES ME SICK TO READ YOUR COMMENT WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. I FOR ONE THINK HELEN IS DOING A GREAT JOB & I HOPE SHE WINS!!!!!!!! IF YOU ARE A FAN YOU WOULD WATCH & LISTEN… YOU WOULD KNOW THAT HELEN IS NOTHING BUT CARING PERSON WHO CARES FOR EVERYONE IN THE HOUSE NOT ONLY HER DAUGHTER. THE OTHER PARENT/CHILD TEAMS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH HELEN & SHANON.

in their room that SHANNON did “SO GOOD” at home that Shannon should go home. Shannon agreed, RELUCTANTLY. So YOU need to listen.

How did Helen lose her wrinkles so fast under and around her eyes? One minute she looks 10 years older than her age (smoking wrinkles) and now, she looks air brushed like a Playboy model.

I watch the show religiously. Helen needs to go! I saw how big Shannon still was and it broke my heart that her mother put herself before her daughter. Who does that???
I am so glad that I’m not the only one who’s upset about Shannon. I can’t tell you how much I dislike Helen. She kicked her daughter to the curb and doesn’t really give a rats butt. I have 2 teens and one really fights the weight. I see the pain she goes through and I see that same thing in Shannon, Helen has to know that she was wrong but she really doesn’t care. She is selfish,self centered and egotistical. If I hear her, one more time, say look how great I am, I’ll be sick.
Helen how could you let your daughter go home, what kind of mother are to take this experience away from her? I can’t believe any parent would put themselves before their child. You don’t deserve to win!

if she wins, i do not think I can watch this show again, she is a terrible person and life cannot be that unfair to tara or mike and I see her daughter did not get to do as well as she could have either. she must be a proud mother
I can not believe that you let your daughter go home when you were smaller than her. Mom’s always should put children ahead of their own. Why would you do that. Your daughter already had to go home one time, why would you not let her have a chance. It has really blown my mind, that you could do that. I would love to know how upset your daughter truly is with you and if you regret at all your decision to not let her have a chance.
It just makes me sick that Helen is sucg a selfish b**** that puts herself ahead of everyone. I feel so sorry for Shanon that she had to grow up with someone that never cared about her more than she cared about herself. Ron is the example of a truly caring parent, someone that puts his kids first. Helen made Shanon feel guilty if she didn’t leave and let her stay. She just nauseates me everytime I hear her talk about me, me, me… UGH!!!!

As a mother and a human being, I am DISGUSTED to see Helen win The Biggest Loser. She is a horrifying, self-absorbed and defective person. Did she see her beautiful but still very obese daugher at the finale? No – – she was too busy thinking about herself. No mother in her right mind would be able to live with herself. She sickens me.
GAG! BOO! HISS! I can’t stand Helen! Such a low class, selfish witch. Though she lost the most weight, which gave her the win, she looked horrid-wasted. She appeared to have starved those last days. Her body looked better in the previous show, but of course, she knew she had to drop a lot to beat Tara or Mike. What do you bet that Shannon doesn’t see a dime of the winnings? “Oh honey, I know I told you I’d share with you, but you know….I worked hard for this. C’mon, I’ll buy you a cheeseburger.†Helen, you took home the gold, here’s praying you will one day realize that the most precious gold should be in the heart of a person. Your daughter has it. You do not. A good mom puts her child FIRST. Regardless. Your motivation was greed and all saw it. GAG! BOO! HISS!
How sad for Shannon to have been saddled with a mother like Helen. Here is yet another reason to avoid teenage pregnancy. The risk of having a teenage mother who percieves her daughter as a rival runs high.
Helen is clearly on a mission to recapture the youth she feels she lost in becoming a young mother (she’s only 18 yrs older than her daughter)- and The Biggest Loser offered her the opportunity to cease it on a GRAND scale; even at her daughter’s expense.
But Shannon has obviously been paying the price of being Helen’s daughter all of her life. She doesn’t even sound convincing when she makes supportive statements re her mom staying at the house or how proud she is of her weight loss. She’s a very sad and soon to be – resentful and angry, if she’s not already – woman. What a disservice this woman has done to her daughter becoming a whole person.
The “Losing More Than Weight w/Helen & Shannon” reality show, would be a barn burner and a major eye opener; especially for Shannon.

My husband & I were FURIOUS that nasty, selfish awful excuse for a “mom” won! We didn’t like her already due to several reasons (the cookie, the smoking, the drinking, etc…). She’s f%#kin pathetic!!! YAY!!! You accomplished your goal at your daughter’s expense- what a gal… You’re an embarrassment to women everywhere. I don’t care if her daughter DID say she’d go home! That’s when it’s a parents job to say “No, I’m going to look out for your best interests even if you can’t see that right now. It’s my poor example that got you here & you deserve this.” Obviously Helen thought she deserved it more since she’s such a selfish, self absorbed ****! No decent parent would EVER put their happiness before their child’s! So, congrats you evil bitch- your daughter is still really heavy, unhappy & didn’t get all she could from this experience. But you got what you wanted and that’s all that matters in your tiny, tiny brain & black shriveled heart, right? I just pray karma gets you. You don’t deserve $1.
If you would have listened, Helen’s own daughter said “I’m just trying to give my Mom what SHE wants” Helen is a selfish person and I was so disappointed to see her win. Her daughter DID NOT do well at home! At least Ron was open from the beginning that he was all about having his son win. I wonder how Helen feels seeing that her daughter is still fat?? Seeing Helen win ruined the whole season for me. And she looks AWFUL! She aged about 10 years in my opinion. Shame on Helen…she’s a terrible excuse for a mother.
Never have I witnesses a mother so unfeeling to her child! She gave not one thought to her beautiful obese YOUNG daughters future happiness…only her own!! I hope she’s happy basking in the glory that should have been her daughters!! If it was me, I’d be choking on it!
I can’t believe when she came out on stage they told her she looked “fabulous”, “wonderful”, “terrific”. Go eat a sandwich or ten already. You look freakin’ scary. And yes, as a mom, totally disgusted in that move. And the dairy farmers of america want you to be on their new ad campaign for “got milk”. Have they “got eyes”. You look horrible!! They should put Tara or Mike on that ad — doesn’t look like they starved themselves!!! Hope you lose your $250,000.00 on your trip to Vegas with your husband. What a trip that would be!!!
Helen is a great mom who deserved to win. She didn’t force her 30 YEAR OLD daughter to go home. Ron on the other had should take more responsibiltiy for his 16 year old and 18 year old sons weight 400lbs. I would consider that child abuse…. And Cathy is a self-described recovering alcoholic. I wouldn’t be giving her the Mother of the year award anytime soon.

If you have not watched the extras of the final four with their loved ones, please watch them. Tara and Mike and Ron are clearly concerned about their loved ones and Helen uses her trademark phrase, “for the first time I have to put myself first.” You always put yourself first and made your daughter feel guilty if she let you stay. Helen you are the biggest loser, the biggest loser of a mother!
And those of you that say, she is 30 years old, she should know better. When my children are 30, I will still put their best interest first. Also, it is harder to mature when you are not raised in a loving environment. The best way to see this is with an abused dog. I take in rescue dogs all the time, sometimes they are 8 or 9 and they still act like puppies. The same is true with kids raised in a home where they are neglected. Shannon your mother will continue to put you down to make herself feel better, get as far away from there as possible and realize your inner beauty. You can loose the weight and you can be the inspiration for girls who are raised with mothers that are so self absorbed that they probably would rather their daughters be overweight. Go get-em Shannon, you are amazing.
Helen looks like a skank who starved herself to win, while her sweet fat daughter stood by crying along the way. Helen shame on you – a cat’s a better mother. 2 hours in the gym 3 times a day. Tara should have won. She looked great!
