In Beauty and the Geek 4 Episode 8, Jen and William continued their bickering, as it became more obvious they were never going to not hate each other. I’m so over both of them at this point. In a (lame) twist, John and Natalie were sent packing without even being given the chance to defend themselves in the elimination room.
William discusses the money and wanting to win. The only problem with him actually caring about winning is that Hell has not yet frozen over.
The beauties will study animals and insects. The geeks will study how to be a flare bartender. Sam’s upset that he’s not the bartender. Jasmine hates bugs. While studying with Shay, they freak out over a bug flying around them.
Beauties are up first. Roaches, giant millipedes, snakes, toads, grubs, spiders, and scorpions are revealed. Jasmine, who hates all bugs, and Shay, who’s afraid of spiders, go crazy before the challenge even begins. They must put the animals in the terrarium matching their scientific names. Mike reveals they must do this without any protective gear, not even gloves, and that the animals might nip at them a bit. The girls are completely grossed out. Sam seems unconcerned. Gee, what a surprise, another challenge that unfairly favors Sam. Jasmine runs away from Shay just walking past her with the snake, let alone actually being able to pick one up herself. Shay’s performing very well despite her fear. Jasmine is hopeless and takes 8 minutes just to pick up a toad. Sam has no clue what he’s doing, but he’s touched a lot grosser things and is having no problems filling the cages with what may or may not be the correct animals, which is messing with the girls because they’re scared he’s beating them easily. Jen’s strategy is to let the animals pick their own cases.
Sam – 7 of 7, with 5 correct
Shay – 7 of 7, with 1 correct
Jen – 5 of 7, with 1 correct
Jasmine – 3 of 7, with 0 correct
Following the challenge, Jasmine, who I’d argue did the best regardless of what the results may have been, continues to be upset when they get back to the mansion. David’s there to support her, and they make brownies together.
Jen wants William to dress better for the challenge, but he resists her attempts to help. Sam, meanwhile, is turned off by William’s cockiness as he performs. Joshua, however, takes Shay’s advice, including hairspray and tanning spray. Jasmine dresses Dave up but says she’s not a good drink critic because she’ll drink anything.
The geeks will be judged on bartending style and flare. And actually being able to make a drink may count for something. Joshua makes a big mess. Nicole does the same trick over and over again. William tries not to scare people but does well otherwise. David’s entertaining, which combined with his confidence is enough for the win. William’s upset that Dave won based on his personality, which is probably true.
Shay gets emotional because of how surprisingly close she’s gotten to Joshua. William and Jen still hate each other, but she says she’d stop someone if she saw them kicking him on the ground. Progress. When they get into the elimination room, Shay and Joshua hug, while William and Jen can only muster a handshake.
Jen gets her first question right, as does Shay. Jen gets her second question right, as does Shay. William gets his first question right, but Joshua misses his. William gets his second question right, eliminating Joshua and Shay. The old married couple is finally gone, but she’s already making plans to go to him and tell him how to dress.
