The Biggest Loser 4 Episode 6

In The Biggest Loser 4 Episode 6, the black team lost the weigh in, despite torturing themselves and refusing to indulge while on vacation in Jamaica. In a strategic move, one of the twins, Jim, was eliminated.

Bob seems to be getting tired of losing challenges. This time, the challenge is not about fastest time but who can carry weight the furthest. Each teammate will carry weights (60% of body weight for women, 75% for men) as far as they can. Whichever team carries the weight the furthest wins. Red team drops out first with Amy. Nicole is next out for blue team. Hollie just keeps going and is last out. Next up is Jez for the black team, Kae for the blue team, and Bryan for the red team. This puts black and blue teams within 6 feet of each other, with red still way behind following a horrible performance by Amy. Ryan is next for blue, and despite a strong effort, Bill drops out in second for black, so Phil ends up winning it for the red team, in spite of them, not because of them. As one of the others said, he won this challenge and the others. Even if it’s reasonably fair to say there was some fairness to how the weight was determined, I think it’s fair to say Phil’s got a lot more muscle than the rest. As a reward, the red team is able to see videos of their family.

Dave starts to whine about not wanting to do what he’s being told because he prefers to go at a ridiculously slow pace instead. Kim keeps pushing, and he keeps whining. She loses her cool and swears, and he hops off the treadmill and leaves the room (swearing at her that he doesn’t like people swearing at him).

Jillian gets a call from Hollie’s stepfather telling her that her mother had a relapse with leukemia, and they’re not sure what’s going to happen. Hollie goes home to talk to her mom and see how she’s doing. At the weigh in, it’s revealed that her mom died a couple hours before.

It’s now time for the weigh in.

Blue Team
Nicole: 248 pounds (-4)
Neil: 355 pounds (-10)
Kae: 178 pounds (-6)
Ryan: 320 pounds (-11)
Total: -31 pounds (2.74%)

Red Team
Amy: 265 pounds (-3)
David: 323 pounds (-5)
Bryan: 304 pounds (-4)
Phil: 342 pounds (-4)
Total: -16 pounds (1.28%)

Black Team
Hollie (weighed in earlier): 225 pounds (-3)
Isabeau: 259 pounds (-5)
Julie: 195 pounds (-4)
Jez: 295 pounds (-7)
Bill: 268 pounds (-11)
Total: -30 pounds (2.36%)

Kae’s amazing. She keeps putting up huge numbers for someone her size. Just in general, though, blue team did quite well tonight. Red team has another bad week, and it wasn’t even a question whether they’d lose the weigh in. Among them, David is the biggest loser, so he’s safe.

Kim tells the team that Phil (who’s second to Kae in terms of weight loss percentage) and Bryan are carrying the team. So basically she wants them to get rid of Amy, who hasn’t been carrying her weight anyway. She leaves them with the knowledge that she’ll be pissed off if they let it go to a tie.

Votes
David: Amy
Amy: Phil
Phil: Amy
Bryan: Phil

And it’s a tie. Wow, now that I wasn’t expecting. Dumb dumb dumb. They must be praying the team game is ending very soon. Since they won the weigh in, the blue team will decide who goes home. Pretty easy decision here. It would be monumentally stupid for the red team to get rid of Phil, so it works in the blue team’s favor to do so, and in the process they get rid of the biggest threat, both in terms of the team and in terms of the long-term individual game. As a team, they decided to vote out Phil. Whether at their own hands or due to a shift to an individual game, red team is done.

Phil’s down from his starting weight of 403 pounds to 295 pounds today for a total of 108 pounds.
