In Beauty and the Geek 4 episode 4, Jesse and Erin got their revenge, sending Rebecca and Will to the elimination room. Sam also got duped by his partner into sending an allegedly strong team, but the team that everyone feared proved so bad at Q&A that it didn’t matter anyway because Rebecca and Will didn’t get a single quesiton right, and as a result were eliminated. This breakup of the couple should benefit the house and removes one person who’s not there for the right reasons, while it may get the other one on the right track (but I doubt it). Sam’s obviously upset by this.
The beauties go back to school for reading, writing, and arithmetic. The geeks’ challenge is a surprise, but before that, it’s geek makeover day. Let’s find out who the ringers are who geeked up specifically for the show, as well as how much the actual geeks can improve.
Jesse’s mom cuts his hair. David wants whatever’s most efficient. John seems willing to change but doesn’t know how he wants to change. Shay tells Joshua he’s probably going to have to get rid of everything he has.
More than one of the geeks shops at the discount rack. David says he doesn’t want jeans, so they make him wear jeans. Then there’s hair coloring and body hair removal.
Not so sure about the blonde look on Jesse, but he looks pretty good. Minus the glasses, plus a shave and new hairstyle, David looks a lot better. William looks as good as can be expected, but Jen’s not impressed because she doesn’t like him anyway. Joshua’s still a geek but an improved geek. Nicole had a great makeover. Luke, who looked good to begin with, is improved as well. For John, all it took was the loss of the shaggy hair and glasses, and he’s easily one of the best looking guys in the house.
It’s announced that the next day there will be a prom. The geeks must ask dates and will go to prom with anyone other than their partner. Nicole can ask another geek. Sam can’t go, and one other beauty will be left out as well. Yet another problem with this year’s twist, whether it creates some drama or not.
Luke asks Erin right away. Jesse asks Natalie. Dave thinks Nicole’s going to ask him, but she asks John, so Dave asks Katie. William asks Jasmine. Shay’s the one who gets left behind.
While everybody else is in the hottub, Sam’s studying. Not so much to learn something but because he wants to win. The next day, they find out what the challenge is. They have to be a teacher for a class of little kids, to be judged by a principal. Jen has no clue what she’s doing. Erin, who didn’t even open the book, knows where the east and west coasts are, and that’s about it. Katie’s as clueless as Jen. Jasmine’s pretty much on the same level as the kids. Sam doesn’t really know what he’s doing but has the personality to get by and impress the kids. Shay similarly uses her personality and interacts with the kids to do a good job. The winner of the challenge is Shay.
Geeks must mingle and campaign with the students at the dance. The geek who gets the most votes wins the challenge. Luke’s a little too comfortable interacting with strangers, as is John. Dave’s pretty comfortable but not particularly interesting. John ends up winning the most votes, which was pretty obvious.
John sends Sam & Nicole to the elimination room. Sam takes it well. Shay sends Katie & Luke because they need to be there least. Joshua is dumb and says he considered sending Jasmine & David due to lack of growth. Valid point or not, there’s no need to risk making enemies like that.
Sam gets the first question right, and Katie gets her much harder question right as well. Sam gets his second question right, and Katie again gets a much harder question but misses it this time. Nicole gets her first question right, and Luke gets his right as well (again, much more difficult). Nicole gets probably the hardest question her and Sam have gotten all along correct, so Luke and Katie have been eliminated. I’m calling foul based on these questions. Sam & Nicole got very simple questions, whereas Luke & Katie got questions that confused both beauties and geeks alike. Anything to keep a twist alive I suppose.
