Welcome to the Hell’s Kitchen 3 episode 2 recap!
With Chef Gordon Ramsay at the TV shows helm for yet another season, you can bet every episode will be packed with hissy fits, injuries, a screaming British chef and a bunch of whining and crying contestants (yes Aaron, I mean you).
Last weeks season premiere made for a great start to what is gauranteed to be a fantastic season of reality television. There’s just one problem, the Hell’s Kitchen 3 winner has already been revealed! Keep in mind nothing is 100% until the shows season finale airs (even though it has already been taped), but if you don’t want to risk possibly spoiling an awesome TV show, don’t click that link.
Now, enough of the chit-chat, on to the Hell’s Kitchen 3 episode 2 recap, and this time around, I’m going to try a different format to try and tighten things up a bit. Enjoy!
- The show kicks off as both the red and blue teams return to their rooms after Tiffany’s elimination in episode 1.
- Aaron’s pacing around. He’s tired, he hasn’t eaten all day but he’s not hungry. Man do I not like this guy. The very site of him annoys me.
- Both teams are rudely awakened at 5:56am by Chef Gordon Ramsay‘s sous chef’s Mary-Ann and Scott slamming pots and pans together. You know what that means? It’s challenge time baby!
- Both teams slowly filter out of their rooms and are greeted in the dining room by Chef Ramsay. Ramsay gives them a hard time for all the food they wasted and tells them they’re going to be catching their own fish, but now how you might think. Ramsay leads the teams outside to a trailer that opens as guys start throwing fish out to the contestants. Eddie steps up and works hard as Aaron whines and cries even more.
- Ramsay brings both teams into the kitchen, Aaron starts to whine and cry and Ramsay tells him to go back and take a few minutes. What a tool!
- The Challenge: Prep as many dover sole fillets, properly, as possible.
- Eddie presents Ramsay two fillets, 1 is good.
- Brad presents a bunch, only 2 are good.
- Vinnie can’t manage any good fish.
- Rock swings 1 good fillet.
- Josh scores 4 perfect fillets.
- 8 fillets for the guys.
- Melissa scores 4 perfect fillets right off the bat.
- Julia manages 3 fillets.
- Bonnie can’t swing a single good fillet.
- Jen can’t pull out a single good fillet either.
- Joanna steps up and nails 3 perfect fillets.
- 9 fillets total for the girls, they winner the challenge!
- The Reward: A fishing trip for all the ladies, along with a nice team lunch on the boat.
- The Punishment – Part 1: The guys get stuck in Hell’s Kitchen cleaning, skinning and filleting the entire stock of dover sole.
- 4 hours into cleaning the sole, Aaron finally decides to join the rest of his crew, only to whine and cry some more and say he’s done, he’s quitting. Unfortunately the rest of his team manages to convince him to stick around a bit longer. They’d be better off without the guy.
- Once the girls get back, the majority of them strip down and get the guys excited by walking around the house in their underwear. Naturally, a few of the guys take advantage of the views. Eddie in particular asks Bonnie to reach up to the top shelf to get him the cookie jar as he sits back and giggles like a 12-year old.
- The Punishment – Part 2: As the second part of the guys punishment for losing the challenge, one member of the team has to do table side service for all the dover sole dishes. That lucky contestant is the useless twat Aaron. Ha! This should to be good for a laugh.
- As Ramsay takes Aaron aside and tries to explain what exactly he has to do to prepare the sole, Aaron’s eyes glaze over and he half sits/falls back into a chair. Ramsay asks if he’s okay and he says he’s fine, he just passed out for a second there. Ha!
- The Service: The doors to Hell’s Kitchen swing open and the service officially begins!
- Aaron walks around the restaurant introducing himself to patrons, for whatever reason.
- Eddie screws up the spaghetti, but to his credit, two other members of his team were getting in his way screwing things up.
- Vinnie slows things up even more by burning on of the Sole dishes.
- Aaron steps up to serve the sole and takes 15 minutes to prep it for the patrons, all the while sweating like a pig. By the time the sole is on the plate and served, it’s to cold to eat!
- The girls are so far managing a pretty damn good service.
- Eddie screwed up again on the risotto and now the blue team is even further behind, brutal. I like the guy, but he’s letting me down. Ramsay gets pissed and throws Eddie off the station.
- Joanna makes the first slip for the red team and forgets lettuce for one dish, otherwise their doing great.
- Josh screws up big time on the wellington. The first is over cooked, the second the pastry isn’t cooked. To top it all off, Aaron is screwing up the tableside service. There are bones in ever sole dish he’s served!
- 3 hours into the service, the women have served almost all their tables.
- Ramsay blows his top on the blue team and tells all the guys to get out of Hell’s Kitchen. Wow, he’s never told just one team to get out before. Usually he shuts down the entire kitchen, but this time around he’s going to let the girls complete the service. The guys did terrible!
- Not only did the girls complete their own service, they finished up what was left of the guys as well!
- The Elimination: Ramsay tells the Blue team they were horrible. The least worst of the entire team was Rock, who Ramsay picked to go back and pick the two worst contestants of the bunch.
- Rock nominates Eddie because he’s a small guy and he’s no sure if he can come out of his shell and be an asset to the team. Yeah, right. Rock’s second nomination is Josh, because he’s all over the place.
- Ramsay calls both Eddie and Josh to step forward and asks both of them why they should stay. After each contestants gives a brief speech, Chef Gordon Ramsay makes his decision.
- The contestant eliminated in episode 2 of Hell’s Kitchen 3 is: Eddie! Noooooo! What a crap decision that was.
Well, there you have it. I personally think Aaron should have been the one to get axed, but it’s obvious why Rock nominated Eddie and Josh instead of Aaron. The longer Aaron sticks around, the better Rocks odds of winning Hell’s Kitchen 3 are. I think Eddie really could have done a good job if he would have only gotten over his small sature and been able to demand some respect. Oh well, another one bites the dust.
Hell’s Kitchen 3 episode 3 airs Monday, June 18 at 9/8c. Stay tuned for a full recap!
