Tonight’s episode of the Amazing Race kicks off with free cellphones and a trip to a mystery location in Kuwait City. All teams mustfind a travel agency, get plane tickets to Kuwait City, fly to Kuwait, hop in a marked car and try to located the mystery location. All each team is given to find the mystery location is a picture on the new camera phone they just received.
Peter and Sarah are the first to get to a travel agency and notice that the agency just happens to have some computers for use. They hop on one of the computers and, through a bit of searching, find out that the mystery location is the Kuwait Towers in Kuwait City.
Though each team started this leg of the race at different times and got to the travel agency at different times, they all managed to get booked on the exact same flight from Mumbai to Kuwait. Nturally, the teams that thought they had a decent lead were none to happy to get on their plane and find all the other teams right there with them.
Once all the teams land in Kuwait City they hop in their marked cars and begin the search for the Kuwait Towers. Amazingly enough every team manages to find the towers relatively easily. Once at the towers, each team had to pull a number off a sign on the wall and wait for the tower to open before starting the challenge. But this wasn’t your usual Amazing Race challenge, this challenge was a little different, and had a few more options then usual.
Amazing Race Fast Forward
- Drive 18 miles to an oil field where a simulated oil fire is taking place.
- Load up on protective gear and, along with firefighters, approach the oil fire and retreive the next instructions from beside the raging fire.
- Only one team can complete the fast forward and, when that team completes the task, they will fast forward through the leg of the race to the stop point.
Amazing Race Road Block
- Exit the Kuwait Towers through the side of one of the domes and climb a ladder up the side of the dome, which just happens to be over 500+ ft off the ground.
- Once at the top of the ladder, retreive a sachel filled with puzzle pieces.
- Return back to the ground with the satchel in hand, meet the other team member, and assemble to puzzle to determine the street name and location of the next hint.
Amazing Race contestants Erwin & Godwin, being the awesome duo that they are, tell Kandice & Dustin not to take the Fast Forward because they are in last place and they would like to take it. Kandice & Dustin deicide to let Erwin & Godwin take the Fast Forward while they do the Road Block. Little do Kandice & Dustin know, Erwin & Godwin only acted like they wanted to do the Fast Forward so they could let Dave & Mary do it. Because they came in last in the previous leg of the race, Dave & Mary have to finish first this leg or suffer a 30 min penalty. Erwin & Godwin pretty much saved them through this selfless act. How awesome are these guys?
Dave & Mary arrive at the Fast Forward, load up on their fire retardent gear, pick up some heat shields and, accompanied by some hose wielding firefighters, make their journey out to the raging oil fire to retreive the next clue. They manage to keep from going up in flames and retreive the Fast Forward. They then had to drive to Al-Sadiq water towers, where they would find the stop point for this leg of the race. Good work rednecks! You better remember who saved your ass on this leg.
Pretty boys Tyler & James are first to finish the Road Block challenge and learn that the street name they need from their puzzle is in arabic. After a quick run around to find someone to translate, they learn that their next task is to drive to Al-Gharabally and to find a marked business in the market, where they will get their next hint.
Tyler & James are also the first to manage to find the designated business in the crowded market, which is quite a difficult task for a few of the teams. They crack the hint open and its a Detour.
Amazing Race Detour
Manual
- Fill, transport and stack 10 bags full of camel feed.
- Don’t forget to fill them all the way to the line, or the camel feed guy won’t be happy with you.
Automatic
- Travel by car to the Kuwait Camel Race Club where you must attach an automatic jockey robot to a camel and use it to ride the camel around the entire track.
- Its not a hard challenge. The challenge is actually finding the track, or someone that knows where it is.
Dave & Mary arrive at the Al-Sadiq water towers, jump onto the mat and get the good news. They’re #1! Who would have thought the good ol’ rednecks from Kentucky would be able to pull it off. Not only do they spare themselves a 30min penalty, they pick up a sweet Jamaican vacation package for their troubles. Nice!
Peter & Sarah, Tyler & James and Lyn & Karlyn all manage to get themselves completely lost in search of the Automatic Detour challenge. Eventually Lyn & Karlyn get themselves figured out, find the Camel Race track and complete the challenge in no time.
Peter & Sarah THINK they find the right spot when they spot one of the Amazing Race directional markers, but it turns out they just found the Fast Forward that had already been completed by Dave & Mary. Awwwww, poor Peter, he cry now. Loser! Peter & Sarah end up driving all the way back to the site of the road block, the Kuwait towers, to get directions to the detour site. While back at the detour site Peter has a little spaz on Sarah for not reading the map properly. This guy really is one genuine asshole.
Tyler & James, seemingly lost to the word, finally manage to get themselves figured out and get the detour completed, arriving at Al-Sadiq to what they thought was certain elimination. Little did they know, the rankings were as such:
- David & Mary
- Kandice & Dustin
- Rob & Kim
- Lyn & Karlyn
- Erwin & Godwin
- Tyler & James
Peter & Sarah still hadn’t found the detour by the time all the other teams had completed this leg of the race. It was actually kind of sad when they showed up at the Manual detour in the dark of night, completed it all and finally managed to get to the stop point long after everyone else. I guess Dave & Mary didn’t need the Fast Forward after all, with how badly Peter & Sarah sucked they probably could have taken the 30min penalty and still beat them by a few hours.
I have to say, I’m sad to see Sarah go. She is one tough chick and has been fighting the entire time, but I am not in the least sad to see peter go. That guy was an asshole through and through, not to mention lazy. He let Sarah do all the challenges that would require the most strain and effort on her leg when he could have done them a lot easier, what a dick. She still managed to power through everything and even put up with Peter’s constant put-downs. Good work girl.
Peter & Sarah are the latest team to be eliminated from the Amazing Race.
The best part of the entire show came after Peter & Sarah were eliminated and we got to find out where they stand as a couple, which, isn’t very good. Peter says two hard headed people aren’t good in a relationship, but they’ll be good friends. Where as Sarah basically says he has some good traits, but she learned a lot more about how much of a dick he can be and is. She doesn’t even mention anything about keeping the friendship. Good girl! Drop that fool.
