Big Brother 13 Episode 19

Adam won veto and removed himself from the block in Big Brother 13 Episode 18, leading to Brendon’s nomination for eviction against the increasingly angry Shelly.

Daniele talks about how Kalia’s HOH, which she largely ran, was a complete disaster. So it’s up to her to clean up the mess. Talk about the blonde leading the blind.

With 6 people voting tonight, Brendon needs 4 votes to stay. That would mean Rachel, Jeff, Jordan, and Adam or Porsche.

Brendon’s pitch to Adam is that Daniele’s targeting guys. She’s mostly just targeting Brendon.

Rachel approaches Porsche to tell her they’re on their side, and Shelly’s going to nominate Porsche. This seems like a lost cause.

Jeff and Jordan must now decide which alliance member they keep, neither of which can be trusted. They try to convince Shelly to stop pouting because they need Rachel for the numbers.

Daniele wants to make a deal with Jeff and Jordan. It’s a little late for that.

Jordan warns Brendon and Rachel that they won’t be stupid and vote against the house, so they’re going to have to line up a majority. And by the way, if you really want to secure votes, be less aggressive toward members of your own alliance.

Shelly’s 8 year old daughter wants her to stop lying and just pick a side. Perhaps they should put her in the house instead.

Daniele tells us she’s a very logical player. Oh. Is that new? Did I miss it?

In his pre-voting speech, Brendon says that he’s going to vote for the strongest competitor, rather than somebody who just rides coattails to the end. I take it he was unable to get the votes. Good luck to Adam if he hopes to not be nominated again.

Votes
Rachel: Shelly
Kalia: Brendon
Porsche: Brendon
Adam: Brendon
Jeff: Brendon
Jordan: Brendon

By a vote of 5-1, Brendon has been evicted from the Big Brother house and is the first member of the jury.

This week’s HOH competition is to fill a bowl and retrieve a ball from it when the soap rises to a high enough level, slipping their way across the course as they go. With soap and bubbles everywhere, this will only get more difficult. Porsche and Jeff seem to be doing well so far, but this could last for hours.

America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 24

The wild card acts performed in America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 23, and tonight the last of the acts are chosen.

Shevonne, Yellow Designs Stunt Team, and West Springfield Dance are the first group. I can’t call this one, but the act advancing is West Springfield Dance.

Avery & The Calico Hearts, Charles Peachock, Those Funny Little People, and the Kinetic King are next. We can eliminate Avery and the not very funny little people right off the bat. The question remains whether Charles has enough of a following to survive his mistake, or if Kinetic King gained enough support by redeeming himself. Before the results are revealed, Piers promises to fly back to Britain and never come back if Those Funny Little People make it through. This is America, home of the debt ceiling crisis and the biggest game of chicken the world has ever seen, even if it was all just smoke and mirrors with no actual result. Our record of voting is not something I’d trust. The Kinetic King is the one advancing to the next round, though, and Piers is safe.

The next spot comes down to magician against magician, Seth Grabel or Landon Swank. This is the most obvious result of the night, as Landon advances to the next round.

Summerwind Skippers, The Fiddleheads, and J Chris Newberg are the last three acts. J Chris Newberg needs to be put out of his misery already. That brings us to a battle between Summerwind Skippers and The Fiddleheads for the final spot in the semifinals. Piers votes for Summerwind Skippers, which we already knew before his 5 minute speech. Howie also votes for his pick, The Fiddleheads. Tiebreaker Sharon votes for Summerwind Skippers, meaning 3 of Piers’ 4 picks have advanced.

Big Brother 13 Episode 18

Following Daniele’s HOH win in Big Brother 13 Episode 17, she decided to nominate Adam and Shelly for eviction.

Shelly’s mostly just angry with Rachel’s lies (that Shelly made up in her head). I’m growing tired of Shelly’s whining. If you can’t handle being a floater… stop floating.

Daniele tells Shelly and Adam that her real target is Brendon. So why did you not nominate him? Her response to that question is that she doesn’t want Adam or Shelly to go home, but she doesn’t care if they do. Still sounds stupid.

In addition to slop, the have nots will have a selection of either beets and bologna, dates and durian, or hard boiled eggs and jalapenos.

Daniele, Adam, and Shelly are joined in the veto competition by Jordan, Kalia, and Jeff. Jordan thinks Jeff looks like he’s in a boy band, which is great because he loves boy bands, but don’t show that on TV because he’ll get mad. The competition is Cornhole, a beanbag tossing game. Each eliminated player will get a prize, up to a power of veto.

Jeff scores a 5, Adam scores 13, Jordan scores 7, Shelly does not score anything (the highest score), Kalia scores 11, and Daniele gets the hole in 1 on the first round. Shelly is out, and she chooses the veto prize. Adam scores 9, Jordan scores 13, Kalia scores 9, Daniele gets another 1, and Jeff scores 9, eliminating Jordan. Jordan’s prize is 24 hours of solitary confinement plus a phone call from home, which she says she’ll take, but she opts instead to give it to Shelly. Locked up for a day for an awkward 5 minute phone call? Kalia scores 7, Daniele scores 1 again, Jeff gets 3, and Adam scores 1, eliminating Kalia. She takes the Caribbean vacation. Jeff’s not sure who Daniele’s target is because it’s not like you can tell that/whether it’s not Adam and Shelly, but after they talk, both of them decide they are safe to throw the competition, or so Daniele tells us when she misses her intended target by half an inch. Daniele scores 14, Jeff scores 3, and Adam scores 1, eliminating Daniele. Her prize is a veto ticket, which guarantees she will compete in next week’s veto competition. She informs Kalia that she just decided Brendon must go. Wait, I thought that was part of her brilliant plan all along? Jeff scores 8 with a convincingly bad throw, and Adam narrowly wins the game with a 7. Jeff gets $5,000. Adam takes the veto, meaning that Jordan gets stuck with the humilitard for a week.

Jordan looks cute in her unitard and pigtails. Thanks for not making Adam wear that.

Jeff would rather get rid of Rachel and not Brendon, but he pretends that the plan to backdoor Brendon is a good one because it’s better than him being nominated.

Brendon and Rachel ask Daniele to keep their deal intact and go after Jeff or Jordan instead. The problem is that everybody already wants to get rid of her, although they’ll still want to get rid of her regardless, but perhaps she’s got a better chance of using Kalia as a shield if she doesn’t anger Jeff. Rachel tells us they’re with Jeff and Jordan. Brendon tells us they’re with Daniele. Well, that clears it up.

At the veto ceremony, Adam vetos his own nomination. Daniele nominates Brendon in his place.

America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 23

Gymkana, Matt Wilhelm, Kevin Colis, and Beth Ann Robinson were the winning Youtube acts in America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 22. Tonight the last of the quarterfinal acts perform in the wild card round. Each judge has picked four acts they wanted to come back.

The first choice of the night by Piers is the Kinetic King. I quite like him. As long as his act doesn’t self destruct. This time, it goes off without a hitch. I’m not sure that’s a million dollar act, but he has redeemed himself.

Howie loves Those Funny Little, mostly because Piers hates them. Needless to say, Piers buzzes. I still don’t get the point of this act.

Avery & The Calico Hearts are Sharon’s first pick. I suppose they’re good for their age. Piers buzzes, reiterating that it’ll be a few years before they’re ready.

Seth Grabel is Howie’s next choice. I don’t get the point of the flips and the hula hoop, but the illusion is what matters here. He makes a DeLorean appear on stage, and in it are a young Piers, Howie, and Sharon. Piers thought that was exactly like Howie, flashy but lacking. Of course, he’s got his own magician later in the show.

Shevonne (with one name already) was rejected in Vegas but is getting a second chance thanks to Sharon. I guess she’s okay, like the rest of the night so far. Howie thinks they made a mistake in letting her go.

West Springfield Dance Team is Sharon’s next choice, as revealed on last week’s show. Still very weird, but good. Howie liked it but doesn’t think they improved over last time.

J Chris Newberg is Howie’s second pick of the night designed to annoy Piers, who buzzes again. I guess he’s kind of funny.

Yellow Designs Stunt Team is Sharon’s last act of the night. Their pirate theme’s a lot better, though they still end up with a fall. Contrary to what he normally does, Piers lets the mistake go, believing this is the only act where something like that improves the performance. He says they’re one of the most improved acts.

Charles Peachock’s very cool juggling performance wasn’t good enough for Sharon and Howie, but Piers has decided to bring him back. Tonight we return to danger, complete with flaming chainsaw and sword juggling (while balancing other swords on his head). Piers thinks he blew it because he dropped something.

The Fiddleheads are back to sing some more as Howie’s next pick. I like them, but their song choices are their undoing. Piers buzzes because this group doesn’t work, in spite of the lead singer.

Summerwind Skippers are the rope jumpers Piers considers sexy. Tonight they’ve brought flaming ropes with them. Sharon agrees that skipping is sexy. Howie’s changed his mind and now sees how this can be a show.

The final act of the night and Piers’ last pick is Landon Swank. He cuffs his hands behind his back in a tank of water with his head chained to the floor. He’ll have one minute to escape before the safety team has to rescue him. Piers was right. This is the better magician.

Big Brother 13 Episode 17

After the unanimously voted for Lawon to stay over Rachel (really?) in Big Brother 13 Episode 16, America voted for Brendon to return to the house (really? again).

Kalia and Daniele have a duh moment. They should have evicted Rachel so at least they got rid of one of them. Everybody else is happy, aside from Porsche… I don’t know if she’s happy or not because she’s invisible. They’re angry that the last couple weeks have been for nothing. I thought that was the whole point was to just waste last week due to fear of the twist.

Shelly, who believes she’s playing both sides of the house very well, told Jordan that she wants to go to the final three with her and Jeff. Rachel was right there listening to the whole conversation, with Shelly under the impression she was asleep. Dumb move.

The HOH competition is about as dumb luck as any. There are items representing each of their states. Each item is displayed both as a small amount with a number and a big amount of hundreds that they must guess. With 670 necklaces on the tree, Rachel is eliminated with her guess of 1500, as Daniele and her guess of 1234 narrowly escape elimination. Jordan’s guess of 1450 pepperonis on the pizzas is almost double the actual amount of 751. Porsche’s disappointed that her state of Florida is represented by olives rather than something like alligators. Brendon’s guess of 319 once again extends Daniele a lifeline with her guess of 341, both more than 1000 below the actual amount of 1358. The next round is a lot closer, but Jeff is furthest away from the 369 cards with his guess of 523. Shelly’s guess of 120 baseballs is less than half the total amount of 242, and she is out. With the lowest guess of 111, Adam is out on the object containing 224 rivets. We all know what’s going to happen here, right? The words scripted for television come to mind. Needless to say, Daniele wins HOH.

Daniele’s plan is to make the whole house panic. This is why you’re public enemy number 1. Nobody likes you, and you’re not giving them any reason to do so.

Adam offers Daniele one week of safety, but she knows he’s a floater anyway. Speaking of floaters, Shelly walks in next, quickly realizing that she’s not in good with Daniele and Kalia. Shelly asks for Kalia to leave, and the resulting look on Kalia’s face is priceless. Might want to work on your poker face in this house. Afterward, Kalia goes downstairs where she and Porsche talk behind Shelly’s back, except she hears everything they say and lets them know. In the resulting argument, it comes out that Shelly made a deal with Brendon and Rachel, a deal she conveniently forgets and adamantly denies.

Rachel and Brendon call a truce with Daniele. Oh, this again. They make a good argument, though. Once one of them is out of the house, the target on others just gets bigger. Granted, it would take an idiot to think they actually trust her.

As nominations approach, Shelly’s angry with Rachel. You got caught trying to play both sides. So goes the life of a floater. No need to blame someone else.

Nominations
Kalia is safe.
Porsche is safe.
Jordan is safe.
Jeff is safe.
Rachel is safe.
Brendon is safe.

Adam and Shelly have been nominated for eviction.

Big Brother 13 Episode 16

After Jeff’s veto win, Lawon decided to throw his own hat in the ring in Big Brother 13 Episode 15, volunteering to be evicted. Is he crazy? Is he stupid? Is he just bored? Oh, and by the way, there is no special power. I am shocked I tell you.

Lawon pretends he didn’t see this coming. Badly. Shelly immediately knows something fishy is going on.

Both sides are under the impression that they have the votes.

Rachel makes a deal with Kalia and Daniele. She pretends she’s willing to work with her. In return, they expect her to keep telling everybody she hates them. Sounds easy enough. The thing is nobody trusts Rachel on either side.

Votes
Jordan: Lawon
Jeff: Lawon
Porsche: Lawon
Daniele: Lawon
Shelly: Lawon
Adam: Lawon

By a vote of 6-0, Lawon gets his wish and has been evicted. Thus ends The Regulators alliance. Is Marcellas now finally able to give up his crown as having made the dumbest move in Big Brother history? And did people actually just unanimously vote to keep Rachel in the house?

As Lawon is saying his goodbyes, Julie has everybody take a seat. Lawon’s going to have to battle his way back against the top vote getter. Keith and Cassi are removed from competition first. I don’t know how Dominic beat out Cassi, but ultimately I don’t understand why America would want to be tortured by the reunion of Rachel and Brendon either. I guess people really hate Kalia and Daniele and want to give them the best chance to be eliminated, a nice change of pace from when America handed Daniele and her father first and second place.

The competition between Brendon and Lawon will be to gather a complete set of balls containing the names of all 14 houseguests from this season, and they will then toss those balls up a ramp and in a hole. Rachel vs. Brendon would have been much better for Kalia and Daniele here because either way at least one of them would be going. It’s hard to imagine Lawon has a prayer. Brendon is the first to score. He takes the lead 7-2. Did anybody expect a different outcome? With 25 seconds left, Brendon locks in his result. Lawon loses with 9 balls.

So You Think You Can Dance Season 8 Winner

Tonight the top 4 will be slowly narrowed down until we find out who is America’s favorite dancer.

First we go down to three. In fourth place is Tadd.

Marko ends up in third place.

Melanie Moore and Sasha Mallory are left standing in the competition for the win. With 47% of the vote (compared to 32%), the So You Think You Can Dance Season 8 winner is Melanie Moore.

America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 22

The Youtube acts performed in America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 21. Tonight 4 more acts advance.

Gymkana and Powerhouse are up first. Gymkana’s got the clear advantage here, and they advance to the next round.

Next we get to see a bunch of people who apparently went viral on Youtube, but I have no idea why.

After the filler, Matt Wilhelm, TNC Elite, and Aeon are the next group. It goes without saying that Matt advances.

I heard the name Rebecca Black the other day. Now I know who she is. A really bad singer who people like on Youtube. I don’t know. Maybe her live performance just sucks worse than the videos.

Kalani Basketball Freestyle, Brett Daniels, Kevin Colis, and Breena Bell are next. I don’t have a favorite here, but Kevin Colis is the third act to head to Vegas.

Up & Over It’s better tonight than they were on Britain’s Got Talent.

Gabe Rocks, Beth Ann Robinson, and West Springfield Dance Team are the last group. Tough call here. I could see the argument for each of them. The first act to depart is Gabe, so it comes down to the dancers. Piers votes for Beth. Sharon votes for West Springfield Dance. Howie breaks the tie and votes for Beth Ann. Not the most exciting dance act, but I’d say that was the right choice. Sharon invites West Springfield back as her wild card pick.
