The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 7

David’s injury finally caught up with him in The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 6 when he was voted out.

Gina thinks her team is stupid because she’s the biggest threat. I see she’s fully flipped into delusional mode now, which at least is better than the pity party.

They’re going to singles. For the first time, they will face the yellow line.

Now they get to face their first individual temptation. The week leading up to Valentine’s Day, Americans buy more than 58 million pounds of chocolate. Whoever eats the most calories worth of sweets gets a 2 pound advantage for themselves, and they can give the same advantage to someone else.

They compete in the dark. Francelina and Alex begin eating immediately. Danni starts exercising instead. Jeff grabs a few lower calorie items. As a diabetic, Gina’s not touching this food, though she doesn’t mind playing along. Jeff ate 3 pecan clusters for 270 calories. It’s between Francelina and Alex, both of whom ate just over 1000 calories. The winner is Francelina. If Alex had finished the brownie she was eating, she would have won. But she gets the 2 pound advantage anyway because Francelina awards her the additional advantage for coming in second. Danni now wonders whether she made the right decision.

Jillian wants to train the three people who ate something at the temptation, leaving Danni with Bob. Among them is Jeff, who already made it clear before he doesn’t like her and is willing to throw in the towel when working out with her. Despite a rough and seemingly unproductive workout, they do come to an understanding afterward when discussing his father’s death.

Biingo finds the boot as a new excuse why he can be lazy and avoid the new lifestyle they’re trying to teach him. His fracture has finally healed 6 weeks later, so now he’s ready to begin training for tryouts.

Reward for the challenge is a visit from the family member at the ranch for 24 hours. Since it’s Valentine’s week, they will again be able to share the love and pick another person. They get dressed up in glow in the dark clothes and will chase lights around the arena. Gina is the first one eliminated. Jackson is out next. The third spot requires stair climbing as well as a lot more running, and Mike is out. Jeff drops next. Then Alex. The final round is between the two people who have been neck and neck in each challenge (Joe and Danni) plus the person with the best strategy in this challenge (Francelina, who placed second to last every time). Danni places first when it really counts, and she wins the challenge. She gives the second prize to Gina. In addition, she gives her own prize to Mike.

Alex is busy making Bob angry at the last chance workout, while Gina’s confidence is again fading into more drama.

Francelina: 213 pounds (-4, -2, 2.76%)
Alex: 198 pounds (-6, -2, 3.92%)
Danni: 201 pounds (-6, 2.90%)
Joe: 279 pounds (-12, 4.12%)
Jeff: 312 pounds (-11, 3.41%)
Gina: 184 pounds (-9, 4.66%)
Jackson: 266 pounds (-13, 4.66%)
Michael: 353 pounds (-10, 2.75%)

What’s with all the tears over numbers in the 3% range, before the final results are even known? In the end, one of those sets of tears proves to be warranted, while Danni narrowly escapes despite not eating at the temptation.

Gina immediately says they need to get rid of Mike. Jeff is torn because he said he would never do that.

Votes
Danni: Michael
Alex: Francelina
Gina: Michael
Jeff: Michael

As the person with the lowest percentage of weight loss due to Francelina’s 2 pound advantage, in the event of a tie, Michael would be eliminated. With 3 votes, Michael is not The Biggest Loser. From his starting weight of 444 pounds, Mike is down 124 pounds to 320 today. He has turned his workouts into a family affair.

The Biggest Loser 14 Episode 6

Lisa was voted out in The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 5 after the red team lost the weigh in despite being far less annoying than the blue team.

Only 1 person will be facing the scales from each team, to be decided at the weigh in by a roll of the dice.

For some reason, during the reveal of this twist, Gina breaks down crying. Oh boy, another week of this. Bob’s going to keep on her until she accepts she’s good enough, even if she doesn’t like it.

The dice rolling does not just apply to the weigh in. It will also be used to determine the challenge participants. Reward is letters from home. The members of the red team hope it’s Francelina, but they are disappointed to see Jackson’s face come up. Gina for a change wants to be the one picked, and that’s how it goes. As usual, Danni is alone, but at least for once she is not alone at being alone.

Their task is a combination of balance beam and calorie counting. They must dodge objects while crossing a beam to grab plates that match the foods with the specified calories.

Danni’s the first across, and she grabs the highest plate to put with the burger. She starts to run the table from here with her second, third, and fourth plates. Jackson finally grabs a plate, and Danni’s shortly behind him with her fifth plate, which is enough to win if they are all correct. Nope, all incorrect. Her second attempt is 3 right. Her third and final attempt means victory.

Now for the kids, who will lead by example. Sunny is running circuit training at school, taking the place of her phys ed teacher for the day. Biingo is recruiting people for his after school fitness club. Lindsay gives anti-bullying speech with Cody Simpson.

As her team collapses around her from exhaustion, Bob tells them the last chance workout is not going to be over until Alex sweats. This could go on for a while.

When they enter the weigh in room, it’s the moment of truth. Obviously, Danni is the lone person whose weight will count on the white team. Now we just have to figure out how the dice roll for blue and red teams. The entire red team is hoping Dolvett rolls Joe’s face (Jackson would be fine with anybody other than him), and they get their wish. Aside from Alex, the blue team seems to have accepted Bob’s challenge of saying bring it on, and the die lands on Jeff.

Jackson: 279 pounds (-1, 0.36%)
Francelina: 217 pounds (-7, 3.13%)
Joe: 291 pounds (-8, 2.68%)
Red Total: 787 pounds (-16, 1.99%)

Danni: 207 pounds (-6, 2.82%)

Gina: 193 pounds (-4, 2.03%)
Alex: 204 pounds (-3, 1.45%)
Michael: 363 pounds (-8, 2.16%)
David: 250 pounds (-3, 1.19%)
Jeff: 323 pounds (-6, 1.82%)
Blue Total: 1333 pounds (-24, 1.77%)

With or without the twist, the blue team was going to lose the weigh in after a streak of 5 weeks of avoiding elimination. As The Biggest Loser on the losing team, Michael is safe.

Struggling with an injury since the first week, with 3 votes, David is not The Biggest Loser. From his starting weight of 307 pounds, David is down to 220 pounds for a total weight loss of 87, and the brace is off his leg.

The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 5

Pam was eliminated in The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 4, bringing the white team to one fnal member.

They return from the workout looking for food. If only the cabinets and fridge weren’t empty. They find a note asking to meet Alison at the grocery store. Each person is given $10 a day to shop for their food for the week, and they go on about it as if it’s some dramatically small amount. Lisa’s in charge of her team because she feeds a family of six on a budget, albeit not healthy food. Meanwhile, Danni is on her own. She’s worried she’ll go over, but she actually ends up spending $61 of her $70.

David and Gina remain concerned that the blue team’s winning (or lack of losing) streak will come to an end, making one of them the target to go home. Bob warns his team they’re set up to lose this weigh in.

Alex is throwing herself a pity party about her low numbers, and after she walks out of the gym, Bob says the problem is she’s half assing everything.

Nicki and TC return for a photo shoot. I’m a little surprised they’re letting a quitter come back. Nicki has lost 50 pounds; TC has lost 80 pounds.

Jillian has decided to be a different Jillian because Danni can’t handle the usual ranting.

Continuing this week’s trend of eating on a budget, chef Devin Alexander (whatever happened to Curtis Stone?) will show them how to make tasty and healthy meals without spending much. Her lesson for the day is to eat sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes and use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.

Gina doesn’t like the food this week, and she acknowledges she hasn’t been giving it her all for the last few days.

At the challenge, each member of the winning team will receive 10 Planet Fitness memberships that they can give away to people they know. Additionally, they will have a choice between a 2 pound advantage on the scale or a chance to call home. Since every weigh in has been a matter of 1-2 pounds, there’s a smart choice here, but the 5 minute phone call looks appealing to a lot of them.

Their task is to get 10 (5 pound) coins each into their fountains. in the center of the pond. David has not been medically cleared. Red team hits the half way mark first with Danni in second place. Blue team’s out of it, and they’re not even going to bother pretending otherewise. In the end, it comes down to the final coin between white and red teams, and Danni manages to win the challenge.

If anyone won’t make this an emotional decision, it’s Danni. 2 pounds for a team of 5 may not be a big deal, but it’s huge for an individual who is going home if she loses the weigh in. Her decision should be enough to make it a battle of blue against red.

In his visit to Dr. H, David reveals that he had previously injured his leg on a treadmill, something he failed to mention to Bob before it happened again at the ranch. While there, he seems to have a breakthrough that it’s okay to ask for help.

Gina and Alex are not alone. Jeff joins in the doom and gloom mentality of the blue team, saying it seemed he slacked off a couple days as well.

Joe: 299 pounds (-11, 3.55%)
Francelina: 224 pounds (-7, 3.03%)
Jackson: 280 pounds (-8, 2.78%)
Lisa: 209 pounds (-5, 2.34%)
Red Total: 1012 pounds (-31, 2.97%)

Gina: 197 pounds (-9, 4.37%)
Michael: 371 pounds (-13, 3.39%)
Jeff: 329 pounds (-13, 3.80%)
David: 253 pounds (-10, 3.80%)
Alex: 207 pounds (-10, 4.61%)
Blue Total: 1357 pounds (-55, 3.90%)

Danni: 213 pounds (-9, -2, 4.95%)

For all the drama from every single member of the blue team, it didn’t impact their results any. Even without the 2 pounds, Danni is safe. That sends the otherwise drama free red team to the elimination room for a second time. As The Biggest Loser from his team, Joe has immunity.

The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 4

Cate was the first member of Dolvett’s team to be eliminated in The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 3 and also the first person overall to be voted out since the first three people who left did so without facing a vote.

She is not the only one leaving the ranch tonight. Three more people will be. It’s not the conclusion everyone is jumping to, though. Rather, it’s the trainers, who are headed to visit the kids for the week, leaving the contestants behind on their own.

One of the first things Bob learns is that Biingo’s mom has lost 27 pounds. She’s on the same program as he is, and she’s seeing progress by improving her lifestyle as well. It’s easy to blame video games and TV, but ultimately the reason these kids are obese is because bad food habits have been passed down from their parents who are shopping and cooking for them.

Jackson takes control of the red team’s cardio workout. Not only does he do a good job, but for a change he’s not throwing up.

Sunny is cracking under the pressure. She says there’s too much to do now, and her test grades are falling. Jillian suggests they discuss trying new things with her mom, but she’s scared.

Like Biingo, Lindsay’s journey has also turned into a family affair, as she’s eating and working out with her mother and sister. She quit her middle school cheerleading team because the kids made fun of her, so Dolvett takes her to get some inspiration from the high school cheerleaders.

The contestants are running a 5k (about 3 miles). The winning team will be splitting $15,000, while second place is $5,000 and third place is $2,500. The team with the average fastest time wins. Danni quickly pulls away from the pack, though Joe is breathing down her neck. She easily takes first place. Joe’s behind her. Pam places third, which guarantees the white team will win. Not the result I would have expected given how overdramatic they are in Jillian’s workouts. With red shirts coming in behind them, the red team places second.

1st: Danni
2nd: Joe
3rd: Pam
4th: Francelina
5th: Lisa
6th: Jackson
7th: Gina
8th: Jeff
9th: Michael
10th: Alex

Since Sunny has mentioned wanting to try new things and not just what her parents expect, Jillian will be taking her rowing. It’s a learning experience for Jillian as well, giving the coach plenty of chances to correct her. When they get back, it’s time to confront the mom, who tells her that no matter what she won’t be a disappointment.

For his surprise, Biingo heads to Harry Grove Stadium, where minor league baseball team Frederick Keys play. He’s able to learn how to pitch with the team’s pitcher.

In each instance, their goal was simple: show the kids that exercise can be fun.

Jackson whipped the red team into shape, the white team seems to be doing well for a change… but the blue team is not so upbeat.

With just one day to workout with his trainer, Joe is not particularly interested in pushing himself. So he walks out of the gym. At least he pulls it together and heads back inside, though.

Jeff was looking forward to working out with Bob again. Bad news then. Jillian’s the one training him today. He doesn’t like her, and he has no interest in cooperating or showing her any respect. She’s happy to return back to her white team, which is willing to train as they’re told.

Michael: 384 pounds (-12, 3.03%)
David: 263 pounds (-9, 3.31%)
Alex: 217 pounds (-4, 1.81%)
Gina: 206 pounds (-9, 4.19%)
Jeff: 342 pounds (-6, 1.72%)
Blue Total: 1412 pounds (-40, 2.75%)

Joe: 310 pounds (-7, 2.21%)
Francelina: 231 pounds (-6, 2.53%)
Lisa: 214 pounds (-9, 4.04%)
Jackson: 288 pounds (-12, 4.00%)
Red Total: 1043 pounds (-34, 3.16%)

Danni: 222 pounds (-6, 2.63%)
Pam: 207 pounds (-3, 1.43%)
White Total: 429 pounds (-9, 2.05%)

After a week in which the white team played proudly, this is an anti-climactic result, but considering her huge weight loss last week it’s not a big surprise. With only two team members on the losing team, Pam has been eliminated.

From her starting weight of 237 pounds, Pam is down 55 pounds to 182. She didn’t make it to makeover week, so she decided to giver herself a makeover.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 5, which airs Monday at 8/7c on NBC.

The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 3

Jillian’s team continued to fall apart in The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 2 with the elimination of Nate.

Alison greets them in a room full of food and games. The team that comes in last in this trivia challenge will be locked in the room for 4.5 hours a day all week, the amount of time kids spend watching TV.

What percentage of Americans aged 2-19 years are obese?
17%. All teams are wrong.

What percentage of overweight children ages 5-10 have at least one high risk factor for heart disease?
60%. Everybody is wrong again.

What is the biggest single source of added sugar in children’s diets?
Sugar-sweetened drinks. All teams are correct.

Over the past three decades the childhood obesity rate in America has…
Tripled. All teams are correct.

What percentage of parents of obese children think their child is normal or even underweight?
75%. Red team is correct to win the challenge.

What percentage of daily calories for children aged 2-18 is wasted on empty calories from sugars and solid fats?
40%. Being the least over the correct answer, white team wins the tie breaker, as blue team will get the punishment.

Or so that’s how they view it. There’s no reason this needs to be a bad thing. All they have to do is just not eat too much junk, and they should be fine. Even if they were to spend that 4 hours on the couch, which they won’t do, it’s not like they won’t be utilizing the other 20 hours effectively. The worst thing is perhaps the mental torture from the temptation.

Bob’s not so lucky that his team has chosen a way to keep active while in this room. Rather, they’re all laying around and doing nothing but staring at the ceiling.

Jillian’s training her remaining two girls, and Francelina joins in. She learns that Francelina’s overeating started with her father’s alcoholism. She’s not surprised that a parent with a destructive addictive personality now has a child with an equally bad problem.

The kids all get a visit from a pediatric nutritionist. Biingo is told he needs to cut down on video games. Sunny receives a suggestion to switch to healthier carbs. Lindsey receives the worst news, that she’s developing diabetes and will probably have it within 2 years if she does not change.

At the carnival, they will crawl with 10 pound gumballs through a bubble gum pit. Reward is a year’s worth of groceries. David and Pam have not been medically cleared to compete, so Danni will compete on the blue team. They are in for a sticky mess. The lead is going back and forth, but the red team ends up winning by 1 point.

The first part of Jillian’s workout is a nice change of pace. No whining. That doesn’t last. We now return to our regularly scheduled programming of Pam crying and Jillian yelling.

At the end of the week, Bob’s team still has not made an effort at burning calories in the kids’ room. He will use this as a learning opportunity to show them they had what they needed all along, and they will have their last chance workout there using nothing more than what they had available to them throughout the week. With a deck of cards and four basic exercises (burpees, pushups, thrusters, and squats), they get as good a workout as they could have gotten with all the fancy equipment in the gym.

This week, there will be no red line, and the losing team will have to vote for the first time this season.

Jeff: 348 pounds (-11, 3.06%)
Alex: 221 pounds (-4, 1.78%)
David: 272 pounds (-6, 2.16%)
Michael: 396 pounds (-13, 3.18%)
Gina: 215 pounds (-8. 3.59%)
Blue Total: 1452 pounds (-42, 2.81%)

Francelina: 237 pounds (-5, 2.07%)
Joe: 317 pounds (-9, 2.76%)
Jackson: 300 pounds (-2, 0.66%)
Cate: 223 pounds (-2, 0.89%)
Lisa: 223 pounds (-2, 0.89%)
Red Total: 1300 pounds (-20, 1.52%)

Danni: 228 pounds (-6, 2.56%)
Pam: 210 pounds (-9, 4.11%)
White Total: 438 pounds (-15, 3.31%)

After two weeks at the top, the red team has lost the weigh in. As The Biggest Loser on the losing team, Joe is safe.

Jackson and Cate both fear they are the weakest link on their team.

The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 2

First Nikki quit in The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 1, then the white team’s woes continued when TC fell below the red line.

Not saving the surprise this time, it’s revealed at the top of the show that this week will feature another red line.

Bob has brought with him some half dressed people who he works out with to workout with his team. Dolvett has created a a workout complete with tires and sand. Jillian tells them they don’t need much equipment because the best tool they can use is their own body weight.

Having lost two people already, Jillian is worried. The girls who remain on her team are falling apart, sitting on the ground crying during the workout. At least Nate seems to be doing fine this week. For all the yelling, the drama of this week does not seem like it will last as long as last, though.

Dr. H’s first visit brings the usual bad news. Jackson stopped breathing for 41 seconds during his sleep. Pam’s blood has so much fat in it that it can’t be seen through. Gina has out of control diabetes with minimal chance of being cured by medication. Michael’s arteries are that of a man in his late 70s.

Antonio Gates from the San Diego Chargers and Bingo, Sunny, and Lindsay join them at the challenge. The timed event will judge their speed, agility, and strength. Reward for the teen on the winning team will be a Play 60 NFL visit for their school, which will receive $5,000. Pam has not been cleared to compete, bringing the white team down to two.

The first quarter is a shuttle race. Danni gives the white team the lead by 2 seconds over the second place red team. The second quarter is an obstacle course they must jump/weave through. Danni wins again, extending her lead over the red team to 7 seconds. The third quarter is the gauntlet. Jeff wins for the blue team, putting them 4 seconds behind white team, with the red team pretty much out of it. The final quarter combines all of the previous skills. Nate places second again, this time behind Joe, which is enough to win the challenge for the white team.

The kids will not be weighing in during the season, but what they can do is take a fitness test both now and toward the end. It goes without saying that their initial results are going to be far below the average for their ages.

Hoping to show her team that she’s not being overly hard on them, Jillian joins Bob’s team in the last chance workout. He pushes them just as much as she does. He probably yells less, though.

David: 278 pounds (-9, 3.14%)
Gina: 223 pounds (-7, 3.04%)
Alex: 225 pounds (-6, 2.60%)
Michael: 409 pounds (-14, 3.31%)
Jeff: 359 pounds (no change)
Blue Team Total: 1494 pounds (-36, 2.35%)

Cate: 220 pounds (-5, 2.22%)
Francelina: 242 pounds (-6, 2.42%)
Jackson: 302 pounds (-4, 1.31%)
Joe: 326 pounds (-12, 3.55%)
Lisa: 225 pounds (-5, 2.17%)
Red Team Total: 1315 pounds (-32, 2.38%)

Pam: 219 pounds (-8, 3.52%)
Danni: 234 pounds (-5, 2.09%)
Nathan: 334 pounds (-5, 1.47%)
White Team Total: 787 pounds (-18, 2.24%)

I thought for sure Jeff was a goner. Pushing his team below the red line by just 1 pound, Nathan has been eliminated. Yet again, without a twist, there’s no way he would have been voted out. Jillian’s got her work cut out for her now.

From his starting weight of 359 pounds, Nate is down to 299 pounds today. He concludes the night with a marriage proposal.

The Biggest Loser Season 14 Episode 1

The Biggest Loser on Sunday night? This one caught me off guard. Once we’re done with this special night and time, the show moves to its new regularly scheduled time slot, Mondays at 8, for a quick 12 episode run ending in March. At least they didn’t shrink it to an hour or put it on Fridays, but NBC has made an effort to significantly deemphasize this once high flyer and opted to squeeze it wherever they can fit it.

On a more positive note, after having quit (again), Jillian Michaels will be returning this season to train alongside Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince. At least we also don’t have to deal with the group of whiners who so willingly and deliberately spoiled much of last season.

In addition to the 15 contestants, three teenagers will participate (one with each trainer). Two of these kids (Noah “Bingo” Gray) and Lindsay Bravo) are 13 years old, and one of them (Sanjana “Sunny” Chandrasekar) is 16. They will remain on the show all season and will spend most of their time at home, though they will be at the ranch for some time with their trainers challenge participation. Their function is to serve as ambassadors for childhood obesity.

The 15 contestants are:

Alexandra “Alex” Reid, 24: 240 pounds
Cate Laughlan, 27: 237 pounds
Danielle “Danni” Allen, 26: 258 pounds
David Jones, 51: 307 pounds
Francelina Morillo, 25: 267 pounds
Gina McDonald, 47: 245 pounds
Jackson Carter, 21: 328 pounds
Jeff Nichols, 24: 388 pounds
Joe Ostaszewski, 43: 364 pounds
Lisa Rambo, 37: 246 pounds pounds
Michael Dorsey, 34: 444 pounds
Nate Montgomery, 25: 359 pounds
Nichole “Nikki” Davis, 26: 280 pounds
Pamela Geil, 43: 237 pounds
Thomas “TC” Pool, 31: 376 pounds

Upon arrival at the ranch, they are provided team assignments right away.

Blue Team (Bob): Alex, David, Gina, Jeff, Michael, Bingo
White Team (Jillian): Danni, Nate, Nikki, Pam, TC, Sunny
Red Team (Dolvett): Cate, Francelina, Jackson, Joe, Lisa, Lindsay

Once inside the gym, people are throwing up and fainting within 5 minutes. Jackson goes down and stays down.

Nate keeps getting up, but he falls right back down. TC follows suit. After Nikki says her knee hurts, Jillian throws her out, too, leaving her with two people to train. She warns them this is just the start, and she’ll ask them to leave the ranch for good if they can’t get their act together by the end of the week.

Suspended in mid air, the kids will tell the adults where to find a set of letters in the ball pit. Reward is a 5 pound advantage at the weigh in. White and blue teams are exchanging the lead as the challenge goes on. White team ends up winning, which perhaps will save them from the wrath of Jillian.

After a week on the ranch, the kids will now take what they’ve learned back home, but they will be back from time to time.

At the last chance workout, both Nate and TC give the effort Jillian expects. Nikki, who’s been moping around all week, is another story. She realizes she’s not ready to change. Given the choice between walking out the door and doing the workout, she chooses to quit. We’ve seen people quit before, some quicker than others, but this has to be a record.

There is no yellow line. The person with the lowest percentage of weight loss on the losing team will automatically be eliminated. Harsh way to start the season.

TC: 361 pounds (-15, 3.99%)
Pam: 227 pounds (-10, 4.22%)
Nathan: 339 pounds (-20, 5.57%)
Danni: 239 pounds (-19, 7.36%)
White Team Total: 1166 pounds (-64, -5, 5.61%)

Lisa: 230 pounds (-16, 6.50%)
Jackson: 306 pounds (-22, 6.71%)
Francelina: 248 pounds (-19, 7.12%)
Cate: 225 pounds (-12, 5.06%)
Joe: 338 pounds (-26, 7.14%)
Red Team Total: 1347 pounds (-95, 6.59%)

Jeff: 359 pounds (-29, 7.47%)
Michael: 423 pounds (-21, 4.73%)
David: 287 pounds (-20, 6.51%)
Alex: 231 pounds (-9, 3.75%)
Gina: 230 pounds (-15, 6.12%)
Blue Team Total: 1530 pounds (-94, 5.79%)

The white team has lost the weigh in, and as the person with the lowest percentage of weight loss on that team, TC has fallen below the red line and been eliminated. Had there been a vote, I don’t imagine that would have been the outcome. They might have been better off just letting Nikki stick around for a little while longer.

From his starting weight of 376 pounds, TC has lost 56 pounds to weigh 320 today. He plans to honor his promise to his son to lose the weight.

Jillian Michaels Returning to Biggest Loser

Deja vu.

After getting kicked off Dr. Phil’s show in just a few months, Jillian Michaels has decided to return to The Biggest Loser for season 14, which begins in January. She’s been gone for two seasons, which presumably has given Dolvett enough time to cement his spot on the show, as he will be returning as well. I’m perfectly fine going back to Bob and Jillian, though.

After the first two seasons, Jillian quit the show once before as well. Kim Lyons replaced Jillian in season 3, with both trainers being featured in season 4, but she was never heard from again.

“As a former overweight teen, I know firsthand how dramatically weight issues can affect every aspect of a child’s life,” said Michaels. “Having recently become a mother of two, I am more passionate than ever about helping empower children and families with the information and resources they need to live a healthier life.”

To that end, this season’s twist will be the inclusion of teenagers on each team. The kids (ages 13-17) will have their weight count toward the team results, but they cannot be eliminated.
