I couldn’t help but post this. I found it on Gawker and got a good laugh out of it.
This video footage was all taken at last nights MTV VMA‘s, can you see the theme?

Norwegian police made the announcement today that two of expressionist artist Edvard Munch‘s masterpieces that were stolen from an Oslo, Norway museum two years ago were recovered and being returned to their home. Yay! Finally.
After being stolen two years ago from a museum in Oslo, Norway, Edvard Munch‘s “Madonna” and “The Scream” were finally found and returned. A Norwegian court laid down sentences of four – eight years for the three men involved and is stating that the theifs must pay $750 Million Kroner ($121 Million dollars) in damages.
Good work guys! I’m a big fan of Edvard Munch and love his work, especially “The Scream.” I am very happy to see these paintings returned to their rightful home in Norway where they can be enjoyed by millions of artist’s and fans for years to come.

In “people with too much money and time on their hands” news:
Apparently multi-millionaire Robert Bigelow is investing $500 million of spare change in a project that hopes to see the first inflatable motel in space. Yup, I’m not kidding here, this is a real story folks.
A 1/3 scale model called Genesis I was launched atop a Russian rocket in July and has been successfully orbiting the earth ever since.
Robert Bigelow said the second full-size version is being created right now and is scheduled to be in orbit within 5 years, seeing it’s first paying customers in the next decade.
The cost to take a week long trip to Bigelow’s inflatable space motel? A mere $8 million a head.
I’ve got to admit, even though I think this is ridiculous, there is part of me thinking that it’s actually pretty damn cool too, lol.

Someone over at CNN is without a doubt getting fired for this one. It looks like the folks in the audio department made a bit of a mistake and the reporters voices could clearly be heard over top of Bush‘s voice during the address. The reporters call Bush an “asshole” and say things like “I have to be protected by him! *snicker*” and “his wife is a total control freak”.
Someone at CNN totally screwed up here and just bought themselves a one way ticket to pick-slip and food stamps land.
Watch the CNN Goof Video now.
UPDATE: My bad, looks like I jumped the gun and did some misreading. Apparently the anchor wasn’t talking about Bush, but instead was talking about her familly.

Um… yeah. Not to much to say about this other than DUH!
Are people in the world seriously this stupid? I mean, really now. If I had a dog, I’d love it as much as the next person and would have it involved in a lot of my day to day life, but driving, yeah, let’s leave that to people, or at the very least to animals that can stand upright and walk on two legs.
The best part has gotta be this quote though:
“She thought she would let the dog ‘have a try’ while she operated the accelerator and brake,” the report said. “They did not make it far before crashing into an oncoming car.”
Ha!

I found this article over at Crooks and Liars and it really puts the Iraq War in perspective. You hear figures in the millions and billions being thrown around everyday when it comes to the War in Iraq and when you hear these figures so often, they begin to lose all meaning and value.
This article is specifically for the $40.3 billion California tax payers will pay to keep the US in the war. This really puts everything in perspective:
It’s hard to believe how much good that money could be doing. What a waste.

Vatican Chief Exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth is convinced that Hitler, Stalin and the Nazis were all possessed by the devil.
“Of course the Devil exists and he can not only possess a single person but also groups and entire populations.” “I am convinced that the Nazis were all possessed. All you have to do is think about what Hitler – and Stalin did. Almost certainly they were possessed by the Devil.”
I know Hitler and the Nazi Party, as well as Stalin, were horrible people and did absolutely discusting things to their people and other people of the world, but for some reason I just can’t believe the “they were possed by the Devil.” bit. I think it’s a little more likely that they were just very messed up in the head and thought they were doing the world some kind of great justice or favor.
Either way, this story was to entertaining and laughable to pass by, so I had to post something about it.

The Vancouver SPCA Paws for a Cause… Walk for the Animals is an annual event held in Vancouver, along with numerous other locations through-out British Columbia. The event is a sponsorship run/walk with the goal of raising some much needed money for Vancouver SPCA Animal Shelters. All of the funds raised by these events go to the local shelters where each event is held, so if you sponsor in Vancouver, your money goes to a Vancouver SPCA Shelter, which is pretty cool.
When: Sunday, September 10th
Where: Vanier Park, Vancouver
Time: Site opens at 10am, Walk begins @ Noon
The Vancouver event is hosted by Randene Neill of Global News and will be a 2.5km run/walk beginning at Noon in Vanier Park. The minimum amount of pledges required to participate is $20. If you don’t get $20 in pledges, you can always pay a $20 registration fee to partake. And, of course, this isn’t just a walk, like every event that happens in Vancouver, there are always other things happening. Among the fairly long list of things happening at the event are: BC SPCA presentations, Dog Stars – Dog Agility Demonstration, Paws 2 Dance – a doggy dance event, Pet Look-a-Like contest and a Bowl Lickin’ doggy style pie eating contest.
If you can’t afford to pledge anyone, volunteer yourself and get out there. If you can’t do that, come on down and check out the events and give your support to the walkers and runners, and the puppies!, this is a great cause to get involved with anyway you can.
