America’s Got Talent Season 7 Episode 20

Following a terrible performance night, four decent acts made their way to the next round in America’s Got Talent Season 7 Episode 19. Tonight 12 more acts perform: Eric & Olivia, Sebastien “El Charro de Oro”, Horse, All That!, Eric Dittelman, Joe Castillo, Olate Dogs, Unity in Motion, Ulysses, William Close, Lindsey Norton, and David “The Bullet” Smith.

First everyone heads outside for David “The Bullet” Smith’s human cannonball act. He scores a human field goal. I’d guess this is probably cooler live than it is on TV, though either way I wonder how it would be a 90 minute show in Vegas.

All That! is an all male clogging act, but you wouldn’t guess that by looking at them. They make clogging cooler than you’d think. Sharon suggests a leather and topless performance next time, with oil. Howie and Howard tell us about how the talent tonight sucks less than it normally does, so this is going to be tough.

Ulysses is a retro TV show theme song singer. Well. Then. Howard buzzes. Sharon buzzes. Leave it to Howie to let it keep going, but he does finally buzz at the very end. Howard compares him to the recession and terrorism, but no offense.

Joe Castillo stumbled upon sand art by accident. He’s a talented artist, and his story about what we’re doing to the planet and those who live on it is fascinating to watch.

Sebastien “El Charro de Oro” is like any other kid, aside from his singing of mariachi love songs. I’m not sure this style of music in a foreign language can appeal to a broad enough audience, but in spite of that, Sebastien has the talent and the charisma that he may well pull it off.

Eric Dittelman has secretly wanted to be a game show host. So tonight he has created a game of Deal or No Deal. He correctly guesses which case Howie will choose.

William Close builds totally unique instruments, including his earth harp, which turns the entire theater into an instrument. This music looks like it would be awesome live, though I suspect it loses quite a bit in translation over the air. Howie says it’s over. He won. Sharon calls him the best thing she has ever seen on this stage. Howard would be willing to put up his own money and produce a show with this guy.

Unity in Motion is the act Howard warned Turf about. They mix dance, tumbling, and a bit of contortion. Howard reiterates that this is the best dance act in the competition. Howie, however, does not believe it was good enough.

Eric & Olivia are a singing and guitar duo that I still don’t get, as it’s her voice that either carries or lets down the act. Howie thinks they should stick to lounges and coffee houses. Howard didn’t think that was good enough either.

An overly perky Lindsey Norton is another contortion and dance act. I think she’s going to fall short of Unity in Motion.

Each night there has to be a pointless act. Tonight’s jackass is Horse, who just gets hit in the nuts repeatedly.

The final act of the night is Olate Dogs, featuring half a dozen dogs doing tricks, all very well trained to perform some tricks I’ve never seen a dog do before.

  1. What is the song that Unity in Motion used in tonight’s episode? Why don’t the NBC website post the performers songs etc. that they used in each performance in each episode? I know its more work but I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants to know what song the performers used.

  2. Already deleted this episode, but I remember the song because it’s a great one and also happens to be one of the theme songs for Britain’s Got Talent. Requiem for a Dream.
