The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 12

Marci finally got her wish in The Biggest Loser Season 11 Episode 11, as she was able to go home so the kids and other parents could stay.

They’re going to split into four teams, one team for each trainer. There are 12 weights, each with a color underneath it. Blue for Bob, black for Jillian, green for Cara, and red for Brett. They go in order of percentage of weight loss from highest to lowest.

Bob: Moses, Irene, Olivia
Jillian: Rulon, Hannah,
Brett: Justin, Jennifer, Courtney
Cara: Austin, Ken, Kaylee

Justin is happy where he ends up. Jen does not get her first choice in Jillian. Moses wanted to stick with Cara, but he gets Bob, who always ends up with the Tongans. Jillian is thrilled to get her hands on Rulon. Olivia gets Bob but has been separated from Hannah. Ken and Austin are the first couple to remain together. Courtney is sent to the other side. Kaylee remains with Cara.

That leaves Jillian’s team as the odd one out, having only two people compared to the other teams’ three. Hannah and Rulon are now left with the option of which eliminated player they want back. I don’t know. Is there a smart choice that both of them will be happy with? I’d say the only options are Arthur or Jay. Justin wants to see Q, possibly Larialmy, or Sarah. Really? Rulon has no interest in seeing Arthur return. He’d be fine with Jay. Jillian thinks Arthur will struggle in challenge but has a ton of weight to lose, while Jay would be good for the team but a big threat.

Having been on the boxing team for the first couple months, Moses gets his first taste of Bob’s spin class, which proves to be a big challenge for him.

So that they can relax for the day, Jillian invites her new black team to her house. Of course, they’re going to start off with a workout first. Rulon says that, in spite of being married, he ate to fill the void of not having true love.

Brett takes his new team on a hike. Justin feels like he’s become somebody special.

It goes without saying that the green team is off to the boxing ring. Austin’s about to get hit for the first time, feeling now that he can really fight back.

Now we learn the decision Hannah and Rulon made to round out the black team: Jay. This choice bodes better for Hannah than it does for Rulon, but Jay should make a good addition to their team. They weighed him in today, and he has lost 111 pounds so far. Since he was just weighed in today, he will be immune this week, and his weight will not count.

Each team has a pulley with all the weight they have lost so far, which is pretty even, except that the black team about 30 pounds ahead of the others. That weight is hanging above a tank of water. All they have to do is keep it that way. They are playing for a video chat from home. They say this feels pretty light to start off. That won’t last long. Just before the half an hour mark, the green team is the first to let go. It turns out that Rulon has a shoulder injury, so his team is the next team to fall. At 45 minutes, they’ll pick one hand, and by this time they’re just an inch or two above the water. Justin’s out, leaving his team’s fate in the hands of the other two. Then Moses drops, and his team follows. Red team wins the challenge. They have decided to give their chats to the blue team instead, though.

Moses says he’s thinking about quitting, but his wife is having no part of that. Like her father, Kaylee says she is ready to go home. She’s close to her goal weight and feels she has achieved everything she needs to emotionally. Whether that’s true or not, being on the ranch is the chance of a lifetime that I can’t see just throwing the towel in early on. Throwing yourself on the sword after falling below the yellow line is bad enough, but I don’t get this not wanting to be there just for the sake of it. Coincidentally enough, this revelation comes the week after she gained two pounds. With a week like that and two weeks at home resulting in a 1 pound weight loss, I fail to see how she’s learned enough to leave.

All four teams will weigh in, and the team with the lowest percentage of weight loss will face elimination, with the decision to be made by the other three teams.

Jay: 282 pounds (-7, 2.42%, immune)
Hannah: 172 pounds (-4, 2.27%)
Rulon: 330 pounds (-5, 1.49%)
Black Total: 784 pounds (-16, 2.00%; -9, 1.76% excluding Jay’s loss)

Moses: 300 pounds (-3, 0.99%)
Irene: 173 pounds (-5, 2.81%)
Olivia: 180 pounds (-5, 2.70%)
Blue Total: 653 pounds (-13, 1.95%)

Jen: 187 pounds (-4, 2.09%)
Courtney: 234 pounds (-3, 1.27%) – over 200 pounds lost since she started
Justin: 247 pounds (-2, 0.80%)
Red Total: 668 pounds (-9, 1.33%)

Kaylee asked her team to do something really hard. Oh geez. She’s throwing the weigh in.

Kaylee: 174 pounds (no change)
Austin: 272 pounds (-3, 1.09%)
Ken: 263 pounds (-7, 2.59%)
Green Total: 709 pounds (-10, 1.39%)

Once we learn that the green team is safe, there’s an immediate bleep from the onlookers. If you want to quit, just quit. Make room for someone who actually wants to be there. Otherwise, at least try harder to throw a weigh in and gain 17 pounds or something. Alison has a message: if you want to leave, just leave. This is not a prison. Or Big Brother. She can leave right now and be out of the game, but the game will continue without her, including the elimination of a red. Her father wants her to stay. What’s the point if she’ll just do the same thing next week? Anyway, Kaylee has decided to stay.

Jen put up a middle of the road number, enough to make her safe as the Biggest Loser on the losing team, leaving Justin and Courtney in danger following their low numbers. Rough decision. Justin says that Courtney needs to stick around to finish her journey. However, Courtney says everybody looks to him as the leader, and she doesn’t want to take that away.
