The Apprentice Season 10 Episode 5

Tyana kept going on and on about how much she hated what her team was doing in The Apprentice Season 10 Episode 4, but she was unable to either provide a solution or stop being negative, resulting in her own firing.

Mahsa’s return does not thrill her own team, nor the opposing team.

Wade will be the project manager this week. For real this time?

The task is to present a fashion show for Rockport’s key buyers. A fashion show? For shoes? Men will present the women’s line; women will present the men’s line. This has the potential to serve as a distraction to both teams.

Executive search consultants Catherine Roman and Juan Betancourt are the advisors for this task. So the only Trump we will have to worry about this week is Donald.

As planned, Wade has stepped up to the plate this time. For the women, Stephanie will lead.

Stephanie assigns Kelly to be in charge of the creative side, and Poppy and Liza will assist her. Mahsa will keep them on time. Brandy will be the MC. They come up with a concept of a day in the life. Opting to push the envelope, they decide they want the men to be as unclothed as possible for the finale of the show.

Anand and Steuart are assigned to work with their models. Gene volunteers to be the MC, and David wants to be the co-MC. This is a big concern for everybody else because David could easily blow it for the team as a presenter.

Wade calls Catherine Roman a “so called headhunter.” I hope he didn’t say anything like that to her face. Neither of the advisors offer any particular useful comments about how the teams are doing.

The girls opt to take just one model with them on their shopping trip to prevent chaos. Anand and Steuart, however, are thrilled to be hanging out with 8 models for the afternoon.

Poppy returns from shopping with one pair of briefs. Stephanie is not pleased. She wants her softcore ending and is not shy about expressing that Poppy is incompetent.

Brandy rehearses her runway show. During this, Liza gets concerned about one of the models having scabs on his legs, which she wants covered up.

Although the other team had planned to rehearse, Gene is not even close to ready, and David makes sure to repeatedly rip into him during the rehearsal for it. Better off just not bothering wasting time here.

Once we get to go time, the women seem to do quite well with their presentation. Let’s see what impact the finale has. They oil up a bunch of men in their underpants and send them back out. One of the men has his arms folded, apparently embarrassed to be part of this dispaly.

Unlike Brandy, Gene, who claimed to have experience doing this, does not seem at all comfortable handling the MC work, stumbling over his words. It gets worse when he mixes up the name of the shoe with the name of the model. Not wanting to be part of this any more, David walks off stage. Wade’s closing thought: unless the women sent naked men out on stage, the men have blown this task. Oh wait, they did.

The women all thought Brandy did an excellent job. Trump agrees.

Although it was clear to everybody else about the guy with the scabby knees who for some reason was the one chosen to wear shorts, neither Stephanie nor Kelly noticed.

Trump’s not going to waste time discussing this any further. Aside from that one relatively minor complaint, and ignoring the fact that the women unnecessarily decided to take the risk of having their models in their underpants, he awards the landslide victory to the women rather than the men, who had an atrocious presentation. As the winning project manager, Stephanie will meet with the CEO of Rockport.

At the end of the day, this comes down to presentation. All the other details and who was or was not project manager was irrelevant. Brandy was awesome, while Gene bombed and David was of no help to him.

Gene believes that Wade was a good project manager, probably not the best thing to say considering that Gene’s going to be heading back to the boardroom with him in a few minutes.

Trump’s suggestion was to pick Steuart and Anand because they were smoother guys. While there is some logic to this, it’s not as if Gene or David would have fit in well in the fashion part of the task either. He doesn’t get why Wade didn’t test David or Gene. Guess what: nobody tested Brandy, and it went great. If Wade should be fired, so should Stephanie. Granted, the women at least had a rehearsal, but by that point, it’s too late to switch things up. As much grief as Trump wants to give Wade about this, it’s a stupid thought process with a desire merely to produce drama because there is nothing else to discuss here. It all boils down to Gene’s presentation, or lack thereof.

The only thing the executives liked from the men was the outfits, which again Gene and David would not have had a clue about.

David says that Steuart did not volunteer to be the MC because he wants to harass women. Wait. What? Harass? While he has a valid point when he specifies what he means, harass, really?

Gene will take responsibility for the fact that his performance could have been better. If Trump wants to fire him, go right ahead. Alright, Gene, you’re fired.

Oh, and Wade, you’re fired, too. Trump is an ass. Stupid stunt firings killed this show the first time around. Not that Wade was going to win anyway, but now is not his time to go.

Gene has since started his own company and is building a technologically advanced assisted living facility. Wade says his reputation in the real estate market has improved significantly.
