The Bachelor Season 14 Episode 3

Three more women were sent home in The Bachelor Season 14 Episode 2. First, Rozlyn was dismissed for having an “inappropriate relationship” (we never did find out what that means) with a producer. Then Ashley and Christina got cut at the rose ceremony.

Vienna gets the individual date. Jake says Vienna’s a blunt person who’s a little out of his comfort zone. They take a motorcycle to his house, where they wait for a helicopter to pick them up and take them to a bridge in the middle of nowhere. She’s afraid of heights (he is, too), so this next part should be interesting. Time for some tandem bungee jumping. After taking some time to panic together, they jump off the bridge, and then he kisses her. After dinner, they hop into the hot tub, where she gets her rose, after having shown him a more mature side of herself. The girls back at the house don’t like her and won’t be happy to see her coming back.

Corrie, Elizabeth, Ali, Tenley, Ashleigh, Jessie, Kathryn, and Michelle get the group date. Michelle’s not happy again. The girls will be doing stand up comedy with the assistance of Jon Lovitz. Ashleigh eventually breaks down crying as they prepare. As if she and the others are not nervous enough, oh, by the way, they’ll be performing for a live audience. Elizabeth, the no kissing chick, has to be censored due to her raunchy routine. Kathryn invites Jake down to the stage, where she kisses him. Then the daggers come from Michelle’s eyes, with ominous music in the background. Corrie does an impersonation of the other girls. Eventually, we get to Vienna. The other women cheer her on as she trashes Vienna, which worries Jake. What do they know that he doesn’t? Ashleigh has had enough to drink to get past her meltdown, and she manages to get through some blonde jokes.

After the jokes, they head off for some drinks and food. Tenley did not reveal it before, but she has decided to tell Jake that she’s divorced. After that, she ends up getting a kiss as well. Ashleigh’s angry that Vienna got a rose, so she tells Jake about it. Ali and Jake haven’t talked since the date, but when they do, their conversation, too, turns to Vienna.

Later, the girls all toast to Corrie for her stand up routine. Well, all except Michelle, the odd duck out. She’s there for one reason: her family says it’s her turn to get married. Ali tries to tell her maybe she should get along with everybody as well, and the claws get out. She doesn’t need Ali’s help, or anything else from any of them. Elizabeth suggests therapy. When Michelle gets to talk to Jake, she says she can’t continue this process unless he’s feeling the same way he does. Let me end that mystery: he doesn’t. Somehow, she is already in love with this guy. Her solution is to ask for a kiss, which he agrees to do. Her response: he’s gotta give her something more than that. Apparently she got no tongue. Jake sighs, puts his head down, and says he’s ready for this night to be over. With that, she’s gotta tell him something. She can’t stay. Okay, then. Go away. What producer made him keep her past night one anyway? The answer she gets is not what she was hoping for. He calls her bluff and thinks it would be best if she did leave. So now it’s all his fault that she’s leaving, when she told him repeatedly she doesn’t want to be there (her less than stable behavior probably didn’t help matters any). As for the others, none of them will get a rose on the date.

Back at the house, the drama with Vienna continues with the others. She has decided that every girl in the house is fake (including Gia, who’s the only one who has stood by her), and then she storms out of the room crying, since the entire rest of the house hates her.

The remaining solo date goes to Ella, who has not yet gotten a date. That leaves Valishia and Gia dateless for the week. Ella, too, gets picked up by a helicopter. They go to SeaWorld, where her son Ethan is waiting as a surprise. This also proves a good opportunity for Jake to bond with him, and a chance for Ella to see how Jake is with kids. Although the situation does not allow for much romance, that’s not really necessary, as it still allows them to get a lot out of it. At the end of the date, Ella gets a rose.

Back to Vienna, she tells the others that she plans to be nice, or at least not mean any more. Apology not accepted. Ali goes on the offensive.

At the cocktail party, Elizabeth continues to play her game, and Jake calls her out on it. He knows people who have elected not to kiss for spiritual reasons, but he doesn’t think that’s what it is with her. And she’s a tease.

Vienna interrupts Jake and Elizabeth before they can get to the bottom of whether she’s going to kiss him or not. She wanted to defend herself seeing as all the other girls attacked her. This is certainly fair. However, it’s just one more bit of ammo for them to hate her.

After she’s done talking to Jake, Elizabeth is crying because Jake called her a game player. This gets twisted around. Ali tells Vienna she hurt Elizabeth. Not Jake. Vienna. I’m having trouble hating Vienna as much as the house does. They’re making an extra special effort to create conflict with her. Afterward, Elizabeth and Jake return to their conversation. Her tune is changing. He had the option of disagreeing with her request to not kiss her. Ultimately, she misses the point that it’s not about kissing. It’s about her mixed signals.

Roses
Vienna (individual date)
Ella (individual date)
Gia
Corrie
Tenley
Ali
Jessie
Kathryn
Ashleigh

Elizabeth and Valishia have been eliminated. Valishia has gotten so little air time that there’s not really much to say about her. Elizabeth’s no kissing until we’re engaged silliness comes back to bite her. She probably would still be around if she didn’t confuse him.
