Kings Moves to Summer

Posted by Shane on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 5:23 pm

What’s worse than being moved to Saturday? Being moved to Saturdays in the summer apparently. After one airing on its first Saturday, NBC has pulled the plug on Kings’ current Saturday run. The network is opting to air the remaining episodes starting Saturday June 13 at 8/7c. In its current time slot, reruns of Law & Order: SVU will air.

NBC you never gave Kings a real shot. It was put up against real tough competition on Sunday night, and i don’t really think people knew how good of a show it was.

nbc has done a terrible job promoting this show - my husband and i watched it every sunday and really liked it, we didnt even know it was moved to saturdays, let alone then being moved to the summer!

I would like to say I’m shocked, but NBC hasn’t been known for brilliance in programming or publicity. Kings is an outstanding program. I think it could use a mile re-tooling, primarily getting rid of Jack and replacing him with a more suitable actor. But seriously, give up Ian McShane. Really? At some point, the networks will get it that their audience is smaller. Cable, iTunes, the internet, all of it is out there, eating away at audiences. Oh, and video games.

So, why not keep the quality and eject the junk? Kings is quality. There are NO other shows I watch on NBC. None. This was it.
