Benjamin Wade is known by many names. As the head women’s soccer coach at the Southwest Baptist University in Missouri, he is called “Coach Wade,” but he also goes by “Maestro†due to role as an artistic director and conductor of a California symphony orchestra. A skilled musician, Benjamin was traveling the world playing the trumpet before most kids could even spell “trumpet.”
Wade sees coaching as another form of manipulation. “You have to find out what everybody wants, what everybody needs, what they think they want, what think they need and then you have to be the person that solves everything.” He knows these skills will be valuable in the game of SURVIVOR.
If Benjamin was asked to wear just one hat, it would be that of “Renaissance Man.” Aside from setting the world record for the longest solo kayak expedition on the ocean (an amazing 6,132 miles), Wade has also been attacked by a tiger shark, stalked by a jaguar in the Amazon and has been bitten by a piranha on his right hand. To say that he is a Type A, Alpha male, who likes to control the environment around him may just be an understatement. Coach’s dominant personality will be a force to be reckoned with in the game.
Benjamin is single and currently splits his time in Bolivar, Mo, and Susanville, Calif. His birth date is September 18.

Now that all you “friends” and relatives have had a chance to see what a pompous ass he’s made of himself you might have a hard time looking him in the eye. He will go down in Survivor history though. No one ever forgets the jerks! Maybe he’s too young to realize that just because you do great things in your life, people will detest you if you braga about it. We all hate that. I just can’t believe that for all his “knowledge” he doesn’t realize such a fundamental human reaction.

Hey Coach, are you just a pathological liar or just pathological? I have never seen anyone so full of themselves. Tell the story about the time you were the first man on the moon and you didn’t even need a rocket ship to get there… And how you learned to breath using moon rocks and moon dust as a filter. then you hitched a ride back with Neil Armstrong after you took him on a white water rafting trip through the moon native country, and then showed him the good night spots you built while living there. i just love that story….

“Coach” has an over-inflated ego the size of Alaska. He’s one of the most delusional, self-absorbed, egotistical, arrogant people to ever be on the show and the funny thing is, he has absolutely no justification for this. At the challenges he’s proven himself to be extremely worthless, dare I say useless. Sierra, who he’s treated like dirt time and again is a much better physical player than our boy Ben.

There is a lesson learned in last weeks blindside of Tyson. It doesn’t matter how much you dislike someone, how much you feel that person is a worthless piece of nothing (as both Tyson and Coach have described Sierra)….one might choose not to voice that to the person’s face because it just might come back to bite you in the hind end.
I hope Sierra sticks it to coach and Debbie in the weeks to come. However, I am not sure she has the courage to do so.

Coach has evidently done some of the stuff he claims (rather embellished though). If he practiced what he preached he would be modest (leak the stories rather than brag), try to help those in need (e.g. Sierra) and follow his own code of integrity (no examples needed here). I believe Ben wade would gain more notoriety by sticking to the facts, as he has got some sort of interesting past life experiences.
I would also like to see a little more background research done on the Author of Ben’s journals “Tom Gauthierâ€. He seems to have a pretty good resume, and though there are people out there with similar achievements, something just doesn’t seem right.
I’m a 40 year old male who has watched Survivor from its very first show in 2000. Thank you Mark Burnett for such great entertainment. I’m not surprised to see that I’m not the only one who feels this way about Benji. It seems he is suffering from something other then malnutrition, no doubt about it. He should receive some kind of mental evaluation the day he’s VOTED OFF. :)Entertaining; indeed….Mental Health; concerned

Just try speaking to someone from your heart. Let someone in; break down and cry about your hurt. You are probably a truly nice guy underneath the confabulous facade.
