MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central Set to Go Dark

Due to failed licensing fee negotiations, Viacom has threatened to pull its networks from Time Warner Cable’s 13 million subscribers if no deal is reached by midnight tonight. The impacted channels would be Comedy Central, the Nickelodeon channels, the MTV channels, the VH1 channels, CMT, BET, Spike, Palladia, Logo, TV Land, Noggin, and The N.
Both companies blame each other. Neither appear ready to budge. Whatever happens, consumers lose, and both companies will probably get their wish that the other will have its share of angry customers.
UPDATE: In the one hour of extended talks after midnight, the two sides have reached an agreement on a new contract.
