The first stop is Atlanta.
Michelle Wallace is the first contestant, and she wants to prove she’s got a great voice. She makes the audience get on their feet. So they can more easily form a lynch mob apparently. It takes three notes before the boos start. She sings about how she doesn’t want to be all by herself anymore. I’d start with stopping the singing.
Having had issues last year with a sick assistant, Bruce Block is back for a second try. Hopefully his assistant this year has been taking her vitamin C. Bruce disrobes, gets on a bed of nails, and gets danced on by his assistant. Hoff is dissatisfied. He wants Bruce to get back on the spikes so that he can jump on him as well. There are probably better ways for him to let out his aggression. Piers wouldn’t pay good money to watch him perform for 90 minutes, but Hoff and Sharon vote yes.
Dorae Saunders is a Tina Turner impersonator, who sings (lip syncs) Proud Mary. And you thought Derrick Barry was confusing. Piers is unimpressed. Sharon loves him/her and votes yes. Hasselhoff votes yes, reluctantly.
The ZOOperstars are an acrobatic dance act dressed as animals. I’m not sure I get it, but the crowd loves them.
The next stop is Dallas, Texas.
The Dallas Desperados are a group of cheerleaders. They heat things up pretty fast, and Hasselhoff’s already decided to vote yes before they start. (Video of Dallas Desperados performance)
Kenneth Paryo (aka XClusive… yeah, he’s already got a stupid nickname picked out) is ready to demonstrate his talent in public for the first time. He normally just hides in his bedroom with it. The crowd starts off by booing him before he begins, but when he starts his robot dance, they change their tune. The judges are also impressed and let him through to Vegas. (Video of Kenneth Paryo’s performance)
Barry Collier makes barnyard animal noises. He does a chicken and gets buzzed by Hasselhoff. His hounddog gets buzzed by Piers. He does a coyote. Still no buzz from Sharon, who enjoys this apparently.
Donald Braswell had severed vocal chords years ago and was left unable to speak. Despite doctors telling him to forget about singing, he wants a second chance at his dream, taking the stage again for the first time in 11 years. He sings You Raise Me Up. After his first few notes, the audience wants him off already. But he convinces them otherwise as the song progresses. The judges agree with the audience’s new opinion and let him through to Vegas. Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another recap of America’s Got Talent 3 episode 6, which airs Tuesday at 9/8c on NBC.
I am so-o-o-o-o disappointed that Donald Braswell got voted not to go on. The reaction to his preformance from the judges AND the way he sang with such emotion and feeling to turn the crowd completely around AND up on their feet, WOW. I honestly feel with all my heart he was a strong canditate to win the whole thing. We all discussed it at work and this is the opinion of everyone(that he should have went on)
